I DO NOT OWN TOTAL DRAMA (or mha)
ANNE-MARIA
Anne-Maria was currently at the salon, gossiping with her girlfriends and her stylist.
"Girl, did you see those weird lights in the sky?" Sarah-Mae, Anne-Maria's best friend asked. "If that ain't a Christmas surprise, I don' know what is."
"Oh please, I got something bettah." Anne-Maria argued. "You know Tony, the guy who works at that meat store?"
"Ah yeah, gorgeous hair, gorgeous face, and gorgeous body."
"I managed to get some lip and tongue action at the new year ball drop if you know what I mean." She winked at her friend.
"Oooooo" Many of the ladies teased at the news.
"Talk about starting the new year with a bang." Sarah-Mae said. "When's he gonna call?"
"Well, since I'm so gorgeous, I'd say sometime today."
"Eh no girl, calling that soon screams way too desperate." Anne-Marie's hairdresser said. "Give it another day or so, then you know he's right for you."
The hairdresser then set her tools down.
"Gimme a few minutes girl, I left something in the back." The hairdresser said, walking into the backroom.
Anne-Maria nodded, turning back to her magazine. As she waited, she was looking through the different fashion outfits and hairstyles. She paused on one page that showed a woman with nice dark red hair. To Anne-Maria, it looked like just another snobbish American white girl that always complained about girls like her. And yet she couldn't help but like the dark ginger color, she was beginning to think how good it would look with her face and skin. She was so lost in thought that she never noticed her eyes rolling in the back of her head for a second.
When she heard a gasp, that's when she snapped out of it and stopped reading. She turned towards her hairdresser, who stared at Anne-Maria with wide eyes and hands covering her mouth. This drew the attention of others in the salon, who also looked at Anne-Maria surprised.
"Girl, you tryin something new today?" Sarah-Mae asked, confusing Anne-Maria even more.
"What do you mean?" Anne-Maria asked. Her best friend pointed at the mirror in front of her. Anne-Maria looked at her reflection and could understand why everyone was staring at her. Her gorgeous, dark hair that she takes such good care and pride in was now dark red. She looked at her reflection, turning her head to examine her hair more and she admitted it did look good. The dark red looked great with her skin and face and she even made a few looks at her reflection to show off. She turned back to her hairdresser.
"Thanks Sherry, you always know what girls like me go for." Anne-Maria thanked her, turning back towards the mirror and admiring it.
"I-I haven't done anything." Sherry said, still stunned and not moving from her spot. This made Anne-Maria laugh.
"Don't be so modest Sher, let people know how much you're worth and that you got the skills." Anne-Maria was thinking that Sherry meant Anne-Maria was already doing the work but this hair showed more of what's already there.
"No really Anne, I just got back and I saw your hair change color by itself." Sherry turned to one of her coworkers. "Sasha, did you do something here?"
"Me?" Sasha asked. "No way girl, Anne-Maria always goes to you so I'd never come between you two."
"Alright, hold up." Anne-Maria interrupts, holding her hands up to get everyone's attention. She faces everyone in the. "None of you had anything to do with this new look?"
Everyone denied it, saying no or just shaking their heads.
"I'm telling you girl, it just changed color on its own." Sherry insisted.
"It's true, I saw the same thing." One of the other hairdressers said. "Try it again, we'll prove that it's for real."
"Yeah Anne-Maria, do it again." Sally-Mae insisted. "I want to see."
"Girl, I don't even know how this happened." Anne-Maria said. "How am I supposed to know?"
"Just do whatever you did last time." A random woman in the salon insisted. Anne-Maria looked around the room and saw everyone had moved closer and stared at her. Normally, she would've taken pride and felt smug about getting this much attention. But these women were asking her to do something that seemed impossible, especially since she had no idea how she did it in the first place. She just sat in her seat, talking with her friends and the employee's here. She even looked down at her magazine and went through the different pages. She stopped at the girl with the red hair and stared like she did last time. However, she got bored and instead looked at the one on the next page. It was a white woman with short, blonde hair parted to the side. Even though it didn't look as good as the red head, she still imagined herself with that hairstyle.
"No way!" A voice said, interrupting her train of thought. She looked up at everyone's faces and they were all surprised and in awe at her. Anne-Maria looked at the mirror again and saw why, her hair was short and blonde just like the woman in the magazine. She turned her head left and right to get a better look and couldn't help but smirk.
"Not too shabby." Anne-Maria said to herself. She thought for a moment and then started turning pages in her magazine. She stopped on a random one, concentrated on the woman, then looked back up to her reflection. Her hair was now curly, light brown with blonde highlights. While the other women were impressed again, Anne-Maria looked disappointed. Sally-Mae noticed this and asked her best friend about it.
"Girl, what's wrong." She asked, concerned.
"I was trying to make my whole head be the same as this girl." Anne-Maria said, holding the page up to show everyone. "But my hair is the only thing that changed."
"Guess whatever this is only works with your hair." Anne-Maria was a little disappointed for a moment, but then smiled.
"You know what, I can work with that." She shrugged, amazed by what was happening.
