I do not own nor do I make profit off of Twilight. All right's belong to it's author Stephanie Meyer.

Well...depression is one hell of a mental illness I'll tell you that.

I'm sorry for my month long absence, I'm afriad after posting so regularly for months I just kinda became...burnt out. I had every intention to post the last Saturday in May, and then take a break but just fell into a weird pit of sadness and exhaustion that just left me feeling blah and I couldn't finish the chapter no mater how many times I sat down with my document open. Please believe me when I tell you I've been reading your reviews you've left and they are so incredibly kind, I can't thank you enough.

I didn't want to leave you any longer without a little something so I wanted to give you this Father's Day special that takes place about a year and a half in the future so this would be between Twilight and New Moon. Bella is not in this one although she is mentioned and while their are not spoilers so to say there are quite a few things you will read that haven't happened yet but are coming in some future chapters. MY GOAL WITH THIS IS TO GIVE YOU A TASTE OF EVERYTHING'S TO COME, becasue it's quite exciting!

Please be gentle with me and this chapter, it was written, edited and posted all in one night...two hours actually so if it's not good or you don't like it, or it's not what you wanted I'm sorry. I'm trying my very best to get back into things, but find most days I just want to lay in bed. I have become a bit more active on my Tik Tok and Instagram so there's that.

Again I am so sorry for disappearing, it's never my intention to kinda just ghost everyone but I do promise not to go longer than a month without posting, so please fear not that I will disapear completly...unless I die..., in that case it's out of my control lol. Anyway please enjoy this Future Father's Day Special while I work on the next chapter. My goal is to get it up next week along with replies to your reviews. If you don't find it next week it will be up on the last Sunday of June for sure!

Sending all my love, Coffee!

FATHER'S DAY SPECIAL

"Isn't this a little much? You didn't even buy him a gift last year, let alone enough to fill a table." Emmett questions, looking around at all the small wrapped boxes and bags,

"Aren't you a little much?"

"What...No, I think I'm the perfect amount of much."

"Emmett love, shush." Rosalie glides into the kitchen and places a hand on my shoulder,

"I think it's perfect."

"Thank you, ROSALIE," I shout in Emmett's direction,

"Babe you're such a suck-up." Rosalie's lips turn into a snarl and as quickly as he appeared he retreats, hands up in a surrendering motion,

"I like it when you do that." I smile in her direction, looking down at the last unwrapped brown box,

"Mare, Sweetheart is your wrist bothering you?" Esme questions from behind the kitchen island. She's been helping since 7, I'm still having a hard time with the ribbons and Esme's a bow-tying master. I look down at my hands realizing for the first time I've been rotating my right hand while rubbing my wrist with my left,

"A little," I admit. It's been six months since the cast came off and eight months since the incident. We all tiptoe around the topic, me especially.

"Let me wrap that last gift for you," I shake my head,

"I have to do it myself." Esme looks around the table,

"You've done almost all of it, one won't hurt."

"Exactly one more won't hurt." I use her words against her, slowly a smile crosses her lips,

"Alright, but do you want some Advil?" I sit down and begin wrapping the last gift, funny enough for being so small it's the one gift that gave me the most trouble in finding. It took months of searching on eBay and a bit of help on Alice's part, but eventually, we tracked it down, it's been one of my biggest secrets, even Esme doesn't know what's in this box,

"Yes please," I tell her taping down the last corner. She's already holding out two small blue gel pills and I take them with a grateful smile. I swallow them with the glass of lemonade Esme's also holding out.

"What me to finish the bow?" I nod and slide it over,

"What's in that one?" Emmett questions popping his head back in. We've been playing this game all morning,

"What's in that one?"

"A tie."

"What's in the bag?"

"A stethoscope strap."

"What about this one?"

"A candle that smells like whiskey and old books."

"How about this one?"

"Cashmere sweater."

"This one?"

"A Mercedes-Benz keychain."

"What's this big one?"

"A print of a Francesco Solimena painting."

We did this all morning. Carlisle's had the night shift for the last two weeks, which makes putting all this together that much easier, especially since he's not due home for another 20 minutes at 10,

"It's a surprise."

"It's not a surprise for me, why can't you tell me?" Emmett groans stepping into the kitchen and plopping down on the barstool next to mine,

"She's not telling anyone, even I don't know." Edward enters the kitchen with a shrug,

"Edward, I thought you were going to have breakfast with Bella and Charlie," Esme questions,

"Yay, Charlie ate as quickly as he could so it could be over." Rosalie laughs before quickly covering her mouth when Esme shoots her a look,

"I'm sorry, that's just..it's um...have I ever mentioned how much I like Cheif Swan?"

"You only like him because he disproves of Bella's and I's relationship."

"Well that makes two of us, now doesn't it?" Edward sighs and Esme steps in,

"Let's not do this today."

"Fine," Rosalie and Edward say at the same time. It's no secret Rose hates Bella...and I can't exactly blame her...I don't know if I like her myself. Edward shoots me a look and I shrug,

"I like Cheif Swan because he hates you."

"Mare." Esme scolds,

"It's funny, it's like you forgot he accused you of doing drugs in an abandoned sawmill."

"Edward." Esme turns towards him,

"I forgave him when he started hating you." I sneer,

"Enough!" Esme shouts, "It's like you children forgot how much Cheif Swan has done for this family, especially last year." I look down at the scar on my right wrist, it's deep and ugly...I hate it, it matches the one on my knee and although it's so much more faded, the one on my ankle. "Rosalie it's Father's Day, not Bella's day, you can stop detesting the girl for one day, Edward stop egging everyone on all the time, and Mare-" She sighs when she turns to me, "We don't hate anyone in this family."

Rose squeezes my hand, turning to Esme,

"We're all civil Esme, we promise."

"Of course we are," Edward adds, and slowly all attention turns to me. This last year has been hard, with the incident, and then Bella...I'm finding it hard,

"Yay." I nod, reaching for the glass of lemonade and taking a long sip,

"It is kind of weird you crashed their Father's Day breakfast." Emmett turns towards Edward with one brow raised,

"She asked me too." Edward defends,

"Still weird bro." Emmett shrugs and Rose scoffs,

"Thank goodness you had the decency to not invite her over here." Edward digs his hands deep into his pocket, a guilty expression on his face,

"Are you serious?" Rose practically shouts,

"We just went over this!" Esme reaches up to rub her temples,

"She said no," Edwards defends,

"Well thank god she has a brain at least!"

" Rose I can hear you yelling from my room." Alice bounces into the kitchen "Edward, she would have been welcomed but I wish you wouldn't have, I love Bella too, but today's not for her." She turns towards me with a large smile and I quickly avert my eyes. Alice and Jasper are the only ones who knows about my plan, and that's only because Alice saw it and told Jasper before finding me to tell me it was a great idea.

"What's this about?" Esme questions her eyes bolting back and forth from the both of us,

"Nothing." Alice and I quip together,

"You two are keeping secrets!" Emmett jumps to his feet, "Esme they're keeping secrets! You said NO secrets!"

"How old are you?" Jasper lifts a brow in Emmett's direction,

"Relax Emmett," Alice turns to me to bump my shoulder, "It's a good secret."

"There is no such thing as a good secret, Esme tell her there's no such thing as a good secret."

"I promise you, it's a good secret." Alice smiles, "Anyway I came to tell you Carlisle is pulling into the driveway right now, I thought maybe you wouldn't hear him over the arguing."

"We're not arguing." Edward quickly steps in,

"We are a little," I admit,

"No, we're not," Edward stresses,

"We kinda are." Rosalie shrugs,

"No, we-"

"What's this?" Carlisle's voice carries into the kitchen and immediately we all turn,

"I told you." Alice sighs,

"Why are you arguing?" Carlisle looks between each of us. I glance toward Edward before holding out my arms,

"Ummm happy Father's Day?"

"I've been eyeing this." Carlisle smiles holding up the powder blue cashmere sweater, "Mare this was very unnecessary,"

"Yay, since you didn't tell any of us," Emmett grumbles, "Now we look stupid for getting you a gift certificate." Rosalie gently pats his arm,

"I very much look forward to my Monsieur Brunold certificate every year." Carlisle musses folding the sweater and gently placing it back in the box.

"Oh well." Emmett sticks his tongue out in my direction, I do the same back, Carlisle looks amused and pulls me forward to kiss my temple,

"Thank you, sweetheart."

"You're welcome."

"Open this one!" Emmett slides the last box over, and both Alice and Jasper smile at me. Rosalie and Emmett lean a little closer, even Edward who I'm not on the best terms with leans closer in curiosity. Like all the gifts, Carlisle carefully slides the ribbon off without disturbing the bow, Esme so carefully placed there and slides it over to the small piles she's been saving. I feel my heart speed up when Carlisle pulls the paper away and opens the box. He stops, his hands hovering in mid-air,

"Oh Mare," He whispers, before carefully reaching down and pulling the delicate gift from its velvet-lined box, "this is-" he stops holding it up to the light,

"I think it's the right one. Verge Fusee right?" I think back to the conversation Carlisle and I had my first Christmas here when he gave me my first piece of really nice jewelry, a delicate silver and crystal ring with the Cullen's crest. I immediately placed it on my ring finger and never took it off...except for the night of the incident, when Carlisle took it off my finger before the paramedics arrived. For the three months it took my wrist to heal Carlisle bought a silver chain and placed it around my neck, but once my brace came off I placed it right back on my finger and haven't taken it off since.

"Mare this is..." he trails off and for once Carlisle Cullen looks lost for words, and immediately Alice squeals,

"I knew we found the right one!" She bounces and Jasper places his hand on his wife's shoulder in an attempt to calm her. "It took months and months but finally we found it!"

"An old pocket watch?" Emmett observes, "That's the secret?"

"Excuse me were you listening, it's a Verge Fusee pocket watch." Alice sounds out slowly for Emmett,

"A Fusee what?"

"It was a very prestigious piece when I was human, however only the truly elite and wealthy could afford one, but..." Carlisle turns to me, "It was the only thing I ever wanted as a boy, to grow up and own a Verge Fusee."

"Oh, Mare." Esme gasps,

"I'm sorry...technically you bought it...but." Carlisle pulls me close,

"My sweet girl, your listening skills amaze even me." He tucks me under one arm and brings the watch into both of our views. The solid gold watch has been carefully polished, the intricate details and patterns shine as if almost brand new...almost, it's still over 300 years old "and so...I fear I don't have words." I turn to Alice who looks like her face's going to split she's smiling so hard,

"Okay, everyone but Carlisle, Esme, and Mare out."

"Wait what?" Emmett sits up,

"You heard me, shoo." Alice pushes Jasper out and begins flapping her hands in Emmett's direction, "Get out."

"But-"

"Come on." Rosalie wraps her hand around Emmett's bicep and pulls him away from the kitchen table and towards the living room,

"You too out." She shoots a look at Edward, who's been quiet this whole time. He gives me a small smile before also slipping out, and now it's just the three of us,

"What's this all about?" Esme leans forward placing her hand on mine. I feel a lump form in my throat. I've been thinking about these conversations since Mother's Day, but didn't feel ready for it... till now...I think I'm ready now.

"Well, I was just wondering something?"

"Be gentle on my heart my sweet girl, my heart is already so full." Carlisle smiles, carefully placing the pocket watch back into its leather box,

"What is it, honey?" Esme squeezes my hand,

"Well if you had children..."

"You say that as if we don't." Carlisle chuckles,

"If you had biological children." I swallow the lump begins moving up my throat and I feel like I'll start crying,

"Yes?" Carlisle nods,

"What would they call you?" Carlisle and Esme share an almost confused look before Carlisle tilts his head to the side,

"Well, I imagine some version of mother or father." He answers carefully glancing over at Esme. Her eyes look sad, but she smiles softly anyway and I search for the words I've rehearsed in my head all morning,

"Umm...well..." I look down and begin studying the pattern of my denim jeans, "Could I call you that?" I finally force out. A cold finger hooks under my chin and brings my gaze up, both Esme and Carlisle stare at me with gentle eyes,

"Mare," Carlisle states gently, "Sweetheart, both Esme and I understand the seriousness of this statement, but we're also alright if you're not ready for this step, you may never be ready and that's okay. We're not here to take the place of anyone who has been in you're life." That damn lump moves up to my eyes, I can feel the tears begin to form, thick and warm.

"Mare, I would never want to take the place of your mother."

"You already have." I feel a tear fall, and before I can reach up to brush it away, Esme reaches forward and wipes it away,

"Mare." Esme choked out, "Only if you want and YOU'RE ready." She swallows thickly, I don't think Vampires can cry, but it seems as if Esme almost can. I look between both Esme and Carlisle...no..mom and Dad,

"I am." Dad pulls me into such a strong hug I couldn't break free even if I wanted to, while Mom reaches around and hugs both of us tightly,

"Mia Figlia." Dad whispers in my ear, "You have given me the greatest Father's Day anyone could ask for," I pull back,

"Mia Figlia?" I question, "What does that mean?" Mom and Dad share a look and smile, Mom reaches forward to brush yet another tear away from my face,

"It means," Mom laughs, "My daughter."
