This sequel takes place sometime after my first fanfic. There will be more returning characters from the show and my first fanfic along with more new ones in this story.

Chapter 59 Lunch and Conversations

The next morning, after breakfast, Dean called the old guy and told him about his wallet. After the old guy told him his address, he arrived at his home with the wallet having replaced some of the missing money with his own money when he went into town and used an ATM machine. After handing the old guy the wallet and him counting all his money, he thanked Dean and they exchanged goodbyes. Then about ten minutes before 1pm, Dean arrived at the Saint Dinnette. He just sat down at a table waiting for Ben getting which seemed like forever despite the short minutes when Ben finally arrived about five minutes after 1:OO. Dean waved him over and soon he headed to his table and sat down.

"Thanks for coming, even though I know you didn't have to for a someone you don't remember" he replied.

"Yeah, whatever" Ben said seeming unfazed. 'Dean asked him what he wanted for lunch and Ben said he just wanted a cheeseburger and fries and a coke and Dean ordered the same thing when the waitress came over. While waiting for their food, Dean just sighed and tried to start small talk with Ben.

"While, this seems like a cool place, which he had something like this back where I live" he said as Ben still seemed uninterested. "Then again, this whole city is amazing, some many places to go, so much too do, almost want to live here, if I had a choose an other place" he went on, but Ben was just looked bored.

"Okay, I agreed to come down here, and it was not to talk about the city or this place" Ben said annoyed.

"Yeah, right, look if you want to know more about me or me and your mom just ask me anything, anything at all" Dean told him.

"Okay then, where did you meet my mom?" Ben asked.

"We met in a bar when she was with a group of friends and I was by myself. We struck up a conversation and just hit it off right away and of course the rest is history" Dean said.

Soon, the waitress came back with their food and after she left both of them started eating. After Ben took a bite of his cheeseburger, looked up at Dean again. "So, when did she tell you about me?" he asked him.

Dean had just finished chewing on a bite of his burger and ate some of his French fries prepared to answer him.

"Not long afterwards" he said while Ben chewed on couple of his French fries and took a gulp of his soda.

"And I didn't scare you away, I remember when I was little when my mom went out with a guy, they stopped seeing her when they found out about me, even though at the the time I was too young to understand" Ben told him.

"Well, I don't scare easily and besides I was like the idea of having a nice normal family that I never got when I was a kid" Dean said which wasn't further from the truth as he thought about his unusual childhood and then thinking about the time he met Ben and saw Lisa again.

"So, when did you and my mom shack up, if you don't mind me asking?" Ben asked as he took another bite out of his cheeseburger.

"We were together for a while when we decided to move in together maybe for some we weren't together long enough but it was right for us" Dean said once again feeling guilty for not being totally truthful to Ben as he remembered the time that led up to him moving in with Lisa and Ben after the apocalypse and thinking he lost Sam forever the promise he made.

Ben kept of eating his food as he was listening to Dean like he hadn't had a good meal in a while and the looked up at Dean again.

"So, you lived with us for a year, did you really love my mom?" he asked him.

Dean nodded his head. "Yeah I did, you and your mom meant a whole lot to me" he told him.

"And the two of you were happy?" he asked.

"Yeah, we were like a family for a long while" said Dean.

"Then why did you two break up?" Ben asked as he took a gulp of his drink.

Dean just sighed. "There was so much going on" he told him.

"Well still enlighten me" Ben said.

"Well, my work for one thing, my job required me to travel around a lot and I wasn't at home as much as your mom would have liked. It just felt to her my job was getting in the way as it was quite a demanding job and in a way she was right. Your mom needed someone that could make her and you a first priority and I couldn't promise I could give that to you both no matter how much I would want to" Dean told him with almost sad look on his face as he was thinking back to that time he and Lisa were breaking up.

"Did you even try?" Ben asked as he took another bite into his cheeseburger.

"Yeah, I did try, I tried very hard to balance my job and you and your mom but it just didn't work. Your mom saw that and just couldn't live that way anymore and she was right, you both deserved better and we decided it was best that I just go" said Dean.

Ben just paused as was trying to finish off the rest of his meal. "Yeah, well I guess that' life isn't it" he said sounding cynical.

"I'm afraid sometimes it is kiddo" Dean said back.

Ben gulped his soda again then turned to Dean once more. "What i don't get is if we meant so much to you why didn't you just find another job?" Ben asked him.

Dean just sighed fearing he would ask that eventually. "I know that sounds all so easy but it wasn't" he told him.

"What do you mean, you just quit and find another job that doesn't require you to travel around and be away so much, I mean I know my mom worked too, so you didn't have to worry about providing for all of us" Ben said.

"That wasn't it, I meant that i could never leave my job" Dean said.

"Why not?" asked Ben.

"Because, this wasn't just a job to me, it was a way of life, a part of who I am, and it was all I ever know and understand, I could never see myself doing anything else an your mom understood that and accepted it. She would never expect me to quit what I did as she knew I would always feel a bit empty without it no matter how the two of you meant to me" Dean explained.

"Well what is your job, you never told me what it was like you were secretive about it, I mean what do you do work for the CIA or something?" Ben asked sounding a bit sarcastic.

Dean just shook his head thinking about what he had planned to say if Ben asked him about his work. "No, my job is quite complicated, I'm a uh, bounty hunter" he lied.

"What, a bounty hunter, seriously dude I didn't know they still exist, thought they were around during wild wild west, or something" Ben said.

"Well, yeah they do still exist out there and that's what I am, to globe around the country hunting down criminal, both me and my brother Sam. You can say it's part of our family business. Our parents did it, so did my grandad, it's part of my family blood, and you get the picture" Dean said.

"Wow, sounds cool and all and my mom really was okay with it?" Ben asked.

"Like I said at first she was but it started to effect our relationship plus the job was quite dangerous and she worried about me a lot when I was away" Dean said.

"So, is that red-headed girlfriend okay what you do?" Ben asked.

"Yeah, since she's one too" Dean said.

"She's a bounty hunter too?" Ben asked like he couldn't believe it.

"Yeah, and she's quite good at her job. I guess that's why it works for us, we understand and accept each other and she travels around too when she has to" Dean replied.

Ben just paused for awhile finish up his meal then looked up at Dean once more.

"One more question" he said.

"Okay ask away?" Dean asked. "Why are you here in St Paul are you on a case and where do you live now?" Ben asked.

"No, we are not on a case. I'm here with my brothers Sam and Adam who you haven't met, Ava, Charlie, a friend and Sam's girlfriend Gwen to spend the forth of July week with Gwen's grandmom who lives here. Gwen is from here too but she moved in with us which is in Kansas" Dean answered.

"Us, what is us, all of you?" Ben asked. Dean nodded his head.

"Pretty much" he said.

"Isn't that crowded?" Ben asked.

"Not exactly our home as plenty of room, it's quite large place to live" Dean said.

"How can you afford it, I'm sure bounty hunters don't make a whole lot" Ben replied.

"Let's just say we inherited our place from our long lost grandfather who has since passed away" Dean replied. There was silence for a while as the two finished their meals and their drinks.

"Well, thanks for the lunch and answering my questions but I have to be heading off now" Ben said.

Dean however, wasn't ready to just let him go. "Look Ben, what are you doing here living on the streets?" he couldn't resist to ask.

"Hey, that's my business" Ben said.

"I know that I said I wouldn't bring it up if you didn't like but I just can't let this go, I don't understand why you are choosing to live in the streets far away from your home robbing form folks selling them to lowlifes and whoever, there's got to be a reason for all of this. Just open up to me and let me help you" Dean urged.

"I said before, I don't want or need your help now and I don't have to tell you nothing" Ben cried out angrily loud enough for others to hear.

"I know you don't have to but please for your mom's sake. I know she must be going crazy worried about you to death and would just want you back with her safe at home" Dean pleaded but Ben still looked uncomfortable and hesitant to answer his questions.

"Please Ben just let me help you. Was there some trouble going on at home, whatever it was I'm sure it wasn't worth running away letting your mom be miserable worrying about you. Please just talk to me Ben?" Dean pleaded again.

"Look, you don't know anything about me and my mom, man so why don't you just back off in mind your own business!" Ben cried out once again loud enough for other customers to hear that they kept turning around in staring.

"I'm sorry but I'm already involved and I can't just turn a blind eye to this, please Ben just tell me what could have happened to make you do this, I mean couldn't you even consider calling your mom to at least let her now you're alright?" Dean asked eagerly.

Ben face was filled with anger and sadness now and he continued to hesitate like he was holding something back but finally just lashed out.

"There's no point calling my mom, she won't be feeling anything , nothing at all anymore because she's dead okay!" he cried out.
