Chapter 35
Beacon Tower, Top
Sound of fighting can be heard as an Enraged Cinder is seen clashing weapons with Kitana. After a clash, Cinder slides back, using her hand to melt the floor below her, and summons ice crystals from the newly-formed substance, hurling them towards opponent. Kitana deflects them all with her fan moving at superhuman speed, and then darts forward and delivers a bunch of kicks at Cinder, with the last blow launching her back. Cinder then floats mid air by unleashing her Maiden power. Seeing this, Kitana begins to spin her fan building up energy. Cinder then unleashes a powerful fire blast, with Kitana unleashing a wind blast of her own causing both attacks to collide, which results in a massive explosion.
Beacon Docks
Air buses are seen picking up the last few civilians and students. Peter Port and Bartholomew Oobleck are also present, overseeing the evacuation.
"That's it! Everybody on board! This is a mandatory evacuation!" Ports announced
"A safe zone has been established in Vale! Please, remain calm and listen to Atlas personnel!" Oobleck says, directing civilians into the buses. Liu Kang and Kung Lao are seen aiding their teachers with the evacuation.
Weiss, Yang and Smoke stares at what is in front of them, in disbelief. Just then, Ruby and Sonya are helping an injured Johnny walk down the path, Zwei barks to alert Weiss to her leader's presence, and Weiss turns around to greet her.
"Ruby!" Weiss yelled alerting Smoke and Yang
"Oh, I found you!" Yang signed in relief at her sister's presence
"Ruby, where have you…Johnny? What happened to him?" Weiss asked in concern
"Black Dragon." Sonya growled
"Tch, this is bad. And Kuai Liang isn't back yet." Smoke growls. "I'm heading into the city."
"There's no need for that." Everyone turns their head to see Sub Zero approaching with an injured Blake
"Blake!" Ruby yells approaching her fellow teammate
"Don't worry, I'm fine! What's going on?" Blake asked
Unsure of what to say, Weiss lowers her gaze sadly.
"Weiss? What is it?" Ruby asked in concern
Weiss steps aside, giving Ruby and Blake a clear view of Nora and Ren, who are too battered and bruised to fight. Ruby reaches out and opens her mouth to say something, but in her emotional state, she doesn't know what to say.
"Ren, Nora…" Ruby mutters silently
"Hey. They're gonna be okay. The soldiers have a ship ready to take you guys to Vale." Sun said approaching the group
"But Jaune and Pyrrha are still missing." Nora attempts to stand, but she quickly sits back down, groaning and holding her side.
"Hanzo and Kitana are missing as well." Liu Kang said, approaching the group alongside Kung Lao
"What!?" Ruby gasped
"Look, guys, that giant Grimm is circling the school! Even the White Fang are pulling out! We all have to go, now!" Sun said
"We're not... leaving!" Ren stands up, but then falls to his knees. "Ugh!"
"Easy bro." Johnny said still leaning on Sonya for support
"I'll find them... I'll find them, and I'll bring them back." Ruby muttered
"No! We will find them." Weiss said as Yang placed her hand on Ruby's shoulder. "We're a team."
"No." Sub Zero said
"What? Why?" Ruby asked
"You're not in any state to fight let alone defend yourself. None of us are." Sub Zero said
"But Hanzo and Kitana are still out there." Weiss argued
"They're both skill fighters and can protect themselves. If we all managed to survive this long, so can they." Sub Zero said
"As much as I hate to agree with Kuai Liang, he is right." Liu Kang said stepping forward. "But I still think some of us should go find them."
"I'm not in any condition to argue right now." Sub Zero signed. "We'll send only four members."
"Very well. Kung Lao, Ruby and Weiss, come with me." Liu Kang ordered as they started running back toward Beacon Academy, while the rest of their friends watch them go.
Beacon Academy
Jaune and Pyrrha are seen running out of the front door of their school. The muffled sounds of Kitana and Cinder's fight can be heard.
"Okay, I think I have Glynda's number." Jaune walks around, looking at his Scroll. "Oh, where is it?"
Pyrrha turns and stares silently at Beacon Tower. Jaune's voice soon breaks her concentration. "Pyrrha? What was all of that?"
"I…" Pyrrha tried to speak, but their conversation is interrupted by an explosion, followed by Kitana using her fans to fly up through the elevator shaft with Cinder on her tail. The two teens stare at the tower in surprise.
"But...Ozpin…" Jaune mutters
"There's no time." Pyrrha shakes her head and then looks at Jaune, quickly adopting a determined tone. "Go. Get to Vale and call for help."
"Huh? What are you gonna do?" Jaune asked as Pyrrha slowly turns her head to stare up at the top of Beacon Tower. Following her gaze, Jaune realizes what she plans to do. "No... no, Pyrrha, you can't. You saw how powerful she is! Pyrrha, I won't let you do-"
Suddenly, Pyrrha grabs Jaune's head in both hands and silences him with a long kiss on the lips. After a moment of hesitation, he gently pulls her in and returns the kiss, while Pyrrha slightly raises her foot behind her. She then pulls away, ending the kiss, and stares into his eyes, one hand on his cheek and the other on his chest.
"I'm sorry." She said sadly before using her Semblance on his armor, pushing him directly into a nearby locker, which slams shut from the impact.
"Hey! Wait! Stop, stop! Pyrrha, please don't do this!" While Jaune pleads, Pyrrha walks over to the locker and begins typing coordinates into it. She looks him in the eyes one last time, before stepping back, watching the locker fly away. Once it vanishes into the distance, she clenches her fists and, once again, adopts a determined demeanor as she walks toward the tower.
Once she steps through the entrance, she runs to the nearest elevator and uses her Semblance to force the doors open. Inside, she finds that Cinder and Kitana had left a large hole in the floor and roof of the elevator on their way up. Pyrrha steps inside the elevator, closes her eyes, and begins mustering all of her strength. The elevator begins shaking. She focuses even harder, straining herself, until the elevator begins a quick ascent toward the top.
Meanwhile, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Ruby and Weiss are on their way back to Beacon campus, when Weiss' Scroll begins ringing.
"It's Jaune!" Weiss said before answering. "Where are you?"
"Weiss! Please, you have to stop her!" Jaune panicked voice spoke through her scroll
"What!?"
"Pyrrha! She's going after that woman at the top of the tower! She doesn't stand a chance!"
"Jaune, what are you talking about!? Where are you?" Weiss asked
" Don't worry about me! Jaune leans against a wall and speaks at a normal volume, his voice full of sadness now. "Please, you have to save Pyrrha."
"We will. Are you okay?" With one last flare of emotion, Jaune screams and throws his Scroll onto the ground, breaking it. He collapses onto his hands and knees, crying.
"Jaune? Jaune!"
The ground shakes, alerting the group to the danger that approaches them. The Wyvern flies into view, circling Beacon Tower with black ooze dripping from it. It perches on one of the arches stemming from the tower and utters a screech. Ruby draws Crescent Rose, shifting it into its scythe form in preparation for the Grimm spawning from the ooze.
"I have a plan." Ruby suddenly said
"You always do." Weiss said while drawing her sword
At the top of the tower, in Ozpin's office, a large amount of smoke flows out from the elevator, masking the entrance of Cinder. She confidently strides towards a kneeling Kitana who is nursing a stab wound to her stomach. Despite breathing heavily, Cinder managed to force a smile on her face. As if sensing her presence, the Wyvern climbs up to the top, peers at her through the window, and screeches.
"You know, I never would have thought some random girl could push me like this, right after receiving all my Maiden powers. I'm honestly impressed." Cinder said
"Save your flattery. This fight doesn't end until one of us is dead." Kitana said getting up
"I'm going to enjoy killing you for taking my eye." Cinder said
The Wyvern stares at her and utters a shorter, quieter screech. Cinder backs away slightly and holds her hand out to the side, creating a fireball in her palm. The sound of sparks distracts her and Kitana, and they looks over her shoulder at the elevator. After a few moments, the sparks come to a stop, and immediately upon the elevator doors' opening, Pyrrha's spear flies toward Cinder, who casually leans to her right to dodge.
The spear is soon followed by Pyrrha's shield, backed by Pyrrha herself, and Cinder puts her arms up, blocking it and pushing it away. Cinder turns to see Kitana running towards her, but she uses fire to hover in the air, evading Kitana's attack as Pyrrha calls her spear and shield back to her with polarity, staring down her opponent.
"Pyrrha, what are you doing here!?" Kitana almost yelled
"I'm helping a friend." Pyrrha said
"You should have left." Kitana signed
"I did that once, I'm not doing it again." Pyrrha declared
Seeing the new arrival, Cinder gains a fiery glow around her eyes and swipes her hand through the air, attacking Pyrrha and Kitana with an arc of fire. She then shoots a stream of fire, which both girls dive over.
Six small fireballs form in a circle behind Cinder, and she sends another streak of fire toward Pyrrha, who barely avoids it. Once again, the Maiden sends a stream of fire to Kitana, but this time, Kitana blocks it with her fans. She then leaps toward Cinder, powering through the flame, and as soon as the fire stops, she spins around and slashes Cinder's arm with her fan. However, Cinder catches the blade and pulls, turning Kitana around. Cinder slams her palm into Kitana's already injured stomach, and fire bursts forth, blasting her away.
Kitana slams into a wall and falls to her hands and knees. Cinder then propels herself forward with flames jetting from her hands, smirking. She attempts to slam into Kitana's abdomen, but Pyrrha leaps into the air above her and wraps her arm around Cinder's, saving Kitana. As Cinder slows to a stop. Pyrrha positions herself to place her feet on the wall behind her and pushes off, flipping herself over Cinder. She uses the momentum to flip and toss Cinder across the floor.
Cinder lands on her front and, as she slides, she pushes off the floor to get back on her feet and perform a back-handspring. Her smirk turns into a look of slight concern upon the sight of Pyrrha charging forward to slam her shield into Cinder's abdomen and push her over. As Cinder stumbles backwards, Pyrrha hits Cinder's right hand with the blunt end of her spear, then slashes Cinder's left hand with the spear's blade. She then spins around and slashes across Cinder's abdomen and legs.
Pyrrha spins around to attack again, but Cinder performs a backflip whilst kicking Pyrrha, with flames trailing behind her foot. The kick knocks Pyrrha into the air, and Pyrrha quickly rights herself. She flips her spear in her grip, holds it back, and then tosses it toward Cinder while firing the gun mechanism. Six fireballs appear around Cinder again, but they dissipate when Cinder backhands the spear away. Pyrrha's shield then flies toward her, and she hits it away, as well. After being momentarily distracted by the shield, Cinder returns her attention to Pyrrha and gains a look of slight surprise, then annoyance.
Pyrrha launches herself toward Cinder and puts her arms around her, tackling her. The two turn each other in mid-air, fighting to be the one on top. Upon their landing, the room fills with a white cloud. When the dust settles, Pyrrha has Cinder in a choke hold, and Cinder is barely managing to hold Pyrrha's spear away from her neck. The Wyvern flies away, and Cinder's eyes begin glowing as she applies heat to the spear in her hands. Her grip tightens as she heats the spear more and more, staring over her shoulder at Pyrrha.
Upon hearing a loud screech, Cinder turns her gaze ahead and smirks, while Pyrrha gains a look of fear. While Pyrrha sets her focus on the Wyvern that is flying toward the tower, Cinder finally snaps the spear's melted blade into pieces. Just before the Wyvern slams its wing into the roof of Ozpin's office, Cinder elbows Pyrrha in the abdomen. The room fills with a green glow as the windows shatter and Pyrrha goes flying across the room. Giant cogs and debris come crashing down in the office, and the structure containing the CCT's transmitter falls to the ground outside, in pieces.
Pyrrha crawls toward her shield, while Cinder watches on from her position levitating off the floor with flame jetting from her feet. While looking for a way to distract Cinder, Pyrrha notices Ozpin's collapsed metal desk and uses her polarity to throw it at the corrupt Maiden, knocking her to the floor. She then quickly grabs her shield and rolls across the floor, sitting up on her knees and holding the shield up. With a burst of flame, Cinder throws the desk off of herself and levitates in the air.
Pyrrha rolls out of the way of two streams of fire that Cinder sends her way and attempts to block a third. However, the force of the third sends Pyrrha tumbling backward, and the floor momentarily catches fire while Pyrrha rolls to her feet. From behind the wall of flame, Pyrrha throws her shield at Cinder, who confidently backhands it away. She then looks up in surprise to see a multitude of giant cogs floating in the air around her. Using her polarity, Pyrrha directs her shield to knock Cinder's feet from beneath her and then slams a cog down on Cinder's abdomen to pin her to the floor. She calls her shield back to her arm, then brings the cogs together into a pile on top of Cinder. However, Cinder blasts them away with a powerful burst of fire, sending them in all directions. One of the cogs flies toward Pyrrha, who raises her shield to block, in vain. The force of the impact slams her into the remains of a wall, taking away the last of her Aura. A recovering Kitana also suffers the same fate causing her to fall on her knees again.
On the ground below, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Ruby and Weiss are fighting off various Grimm.
"We've gotta hurry!" Ruby yells
"You two go up ahead, we'll hold them off." Liu Kang said as he and Kung Lao continue to fight
Weiss looks around for a moment, before casting a series of glyphs up the side of the tower.
"Let's do this." Weiss said as she and Ruby run forward. They then sprints up the wall, the glyphs propelling them forward and keeping them from falling off. While both girls are running up the building, a blurred figure instantly ran past them, heading towards the tower.
Meanwhile, Cinder forms an obsidian bow in her hand. As she raises it up and draws back an obsidian arrow, Pyrrha charges forward, spins, and throws her shield at her. Cinder looses the arrow, which shatters upon impact with the side of the shield. However, as the fragments part ways above and below the shield, they glow orange and rejoin each other on the other side. The fragments melt into each other and cool into the shape of an arrow, which continues on its path directly into Pyrrha's ankle.
"Pyrrha!" Kitana yelled while failing to get up
Pyrrha collapses in pain. She attempts to pull herself to her feet, but the pain is too much. Both ends of the arrow break off, making removal impossible. She turns over onto her hands and knees as Cinder moves to stand in front of her.
"It's unfortunate you were promised a power that was never truly yours." She kneels down and lifts Pyrrha's chin, staring into her eyes and smiling. "But take comfort in knowing that I will use it in ways you could never have imagined."
Pyrrh pulls away, sitting up and matching Cinder's stare "Do you believe in destiny?"
"Yes." Cinder said narrowing her eyes
Cinder stands back up and forms an obsidian bow and arrow again. She pulls back the arrow, lowering the bow to aim at her weakened opponent. However before she could deliver a the final blow, a burst of flame suddenly appeared between her and Pyrrha causing Cinder to jump back in shock.
As the flame die down, it reveals Scorpion standing in front of Pyrrha while holding a burnt skull still attached to it's spine.
"Cinder, I presume?" Scorpion asked
"How do you know me?" Cinder asked taking a defensive stance
"Your friend Mercury, he spoke fondly of you. You were the last name he screamed for before dying." Scorpion said as he crushed Mercury's skull for Cinder to see
Enraged by the knowledge of Mercury's death, Cinder unleashed a massive stream of fire towards Scorpion hoping to incinerate him. However, the Spectre just stood there unfazed by her attack.
"Know that you started this fire." Scorpion said as he walked through the flames towards Cinder
As Scorpion got close, Cinder ceased her attack to form two swords of fire which she use to stab Scorpion in his heart and Stomach, but to her horror, Scorpion just stood there unfazed. Grabbing her left arm, Scorpion then pulled hard as he ripped Cinder's hand causing her to scream as she fell on her knees. Pyrrha was slightly afraid of Scorpion's brutality but Kitana had a look of approval.
As Scorpion raised his fist to finish her, he suddenly stops as two Hookblades pierced through his chest causing blood to fly everywhere as he was lifted up by Kabal
"Hanzo!" Pyrrha yelled in fear
"Man, this dude really did a number on you." Kabal said as he looked at Cinder's injured from
"Thanks." Cinder said weakly. "Let's-"
She didn't get to finish, as Scorpion, who was being impaled in the heart suddenly grabbed Kabal's hands flipping him forward, causing the Mercenary to pull out his swords. Turning around to face Scorpion, Kabal tried to attack the Spectre again only to have his hands to get grabbed by Scorpion.
Ripping off his mask to show a flaming skull, Scorpion pulls Kabal towards himself, causing them to stand face to face.
"You shouldn't have done that." Scorpion said coldly as Kabal watched in horror as Scorpion lit both himself and Kabal on fire. Cinder could only watch in horror as Scorpion began burning Kabal alive, causing the Mercenary to scream as his skin began melting away.
Nearby, Weiss and Ruby finally reaches the top of the tower, landing in a kneeling position. Both girls then looked upon the scene Infront of them. Seeing Pyrrha, Kitana and a disarmed Cinder watching in horror as Scorpion slowly kills Kabal.
"Hanzo!" Weiss yelled fearing that Scorpion was dying.
Hearing his name, Scorpion stopped his assault as he let a severely burnt Kabal fall to the ground. Turning his head, he is met with the site of Ruby throwing up and Weiss who is staring at him in shock and fear. Signing, he decides to put on his mask.
"Hanzo, is that you?" Weiss asked as she slowly approached him
"I had hoped you would not see this side of me. But I guess this was bound to happen." Scorpion said looking away
"You're not a monster." Weiss said taking his hand
"My deeds say otherwise." Scorpion scoffed
"You not!" Weiss said in a no nonsense took
Raising his brow slightly at this, Scorpion turns to Cinder who is still watching him in fear. "Take your friend and leave." He said gesturing to Kabal
Slowly, Cinder picks up Kabal with her good hand before flying off.
"The rest of you should leave. I'll deal this creature." Scorpion said referring to the Wyvern that was still flying outside.
"Wait, you're still injur-"
"That was not a request." Scorpion said as flames suddenly engulfed Kitana, Pyrrha, Ruby and Weiss, teleporting them towards Liu Kang and Kung Lao who had just finished killing some Grimm.
"Guys!" Kung Lao called
"Kitana!" Liu Kang rushed to help her
"What happened?" Kung Lao asked. As if answering his question, they all looked up to see Scorpion attacking the Wyvern.
"We should leave." Liu Kang said causing them to nod except Weiss
Bullock
A hour has passed and currently, the entirety of Team RWBY, JNPR, TSKK, JKHL, Sun, Neptune, Velvet and Coco are flying in a bullock except for Scorpion who is yet to return. Looking outside to the city, the resident of the Bullock can see the Dead Wyvern on top Beacon Tower. Ozpin, Goodwitch and Qrow are also in the Bullock, with Shinnok's amulet inside Ozpin's bag.
"Still no sign of Hanzo." Sonya muttered
"At least we know he's alive, since that thing is dead." Kung Lao pointed out
"Still, it wouldn't kill the guy to show up though." Johnny said causing Sonya to smack his head. "Ouch!"
"Cage, zip it." Sonya said
"Well at least it's over." Sun said when suddenly a portal appeared inside the Bullock causing everyone to tense up
"Ozma, or do you go by Ozpin now?" Quan Chi greeted as he exited the portal
"Quan Chi." Ozpin growled. "Why are you here?"
"I'm here for the Amulet of Shinnok." Quan Chi said
"It was destroyed in the school." Ozpin tried to lie
"Do not take me for a fool Ozpin. I can sense it on you. Whatever prevented me from detecting it before is gone." Quan Chi said
"I don't know who are baldy, but you're not getting anything from us." Qrow said stepping forward
"Is that so?" Quan Chi then lifted Qrow with telekinesis, causing everyone who wasn't injured to draw their weapons
"Let my uncle go!" Ruby yelled
"Silver eyes, interesting." Quan Chi muttered
"Release him Quan Chi, you're surrounded. You can't possibly hope to take us all by yourself." Ozpin said
"I need not raise a finger." Quan Chi said dropping Qrow before snapping his finger. "Scorpion."
In an instant, Scorpion appeared on the Bullocks in a burst of flame
"Hanzo!" Weiss called
"What is the meaning of this Quan Chi?" Ozpin asked
"I'm sure you're familiar with my Spectre, Scorpion." Quan Chi started
"Spectre, like a ghost?" Sonya asked
"Very preceptive of you Miss Blade. Yes he is a ghost, a mortal killed by the Lin Kuei." Quan Chi causing gasped to be heard from some students
"What do you intend to do with him?" Ozpin asked
"If you do not surrender the Amulet, I will have no choice but to have him face your students in Kombat. Something I'm quite certain he does not want as well." Quan Chi said smirking
"Hanzo would never-" Blake said only to be cut off
"But he would. Seeing as the Amulet is the only chance he has at reviving his dead clan." Quan Chi said
"We won't let you take the Amulet." Goodwitch said defensively as some students hesitantly stood behind her
"In that case-"
"Stop!" All eyes turned to Kitana who has her fan pointed at Ozpin's neck. "Give him the Amulet."
"Kitana, what are you-" Liu Kang tried to say, but she stopped him
"We managed to escape without any casualties, I am not going to let our hard work be in vain." Kitana said
"There's no need to threaten me Kitana." Ozpin signed as he handed the amulet to Kitana.
Walking towards Quan Chi, while holding her injured stomach, Kitana hands him the Amulet.
"Thank you Kitana, Shao Kahn will be pleased."
"Shao Kahn? You're from Outworld." Kung Lao said narrowing his eyes
"Eh, what's an Outworld?" Johnny asked
"I'll explain later." Liu Kang said as he watched Quan Chi heal Kitana
"Now then, let us go." Quan Chi then opened a portal as he stepped inside. Scorpion sends Kitana a silent thanks you which she returned with a nod as they both walked into the portal.
"Kitana." Liu Kang whispered as the portal closed up
After a brief silence, Jaune asked the question on everyone's mind. "Did something bad just happen?"
"Oz?" Qrow looked at the headmaster with a worried expression, as all Ozpin could do was sign
Outworld's Throne Room
Quan Chi, Scorpion and Kitana are seen stepping out of a portal that just close. Infront of them is Shao Kahn, alongside his daughter and generals.
"Quan Chi." Shao Kahn simply said
"Emperor Shao Kahn." Quan Chi said bowing slightly
"Kitana, you have returned." He said after noticing her
"Yes father." She said bowing down
"So you actually succeeded." Mileena said, causing Kitana glare at her sister. Upon closer inspection, Kitana noticed that Mileena looked different (Mileena Invasion Attire)
"Indeed, she was most helpful in retrieving the Amulet." Quan Chi said showing Shao Kahn Shinnok's amulet
"At long last, now the Kingdom's of Remnant shall fall by my hands." Shao Kahn said standing up. His declaration caused Kitana to flinch, with Scorpion glaring at Outworld's ruler
"I have a better preposition than outrightly merging the Kingdom's." Quan Chi said
"And what would that be Sorcerer?"
"Mortal Kombat." Quan Chi said causing Mileena to raise a brow.
"What is that?" Mileena asked
"A tournament that enables the victor to merge Kingdoms without the interference of the Elder gods." Quan Chi explained
"And what do you gain from this Quan Chi?" Shao Kahn asked
"I intend to use the energy gotten from the tournament to resurrect Shinnok. In the end we both have something to gain from this, as the Elder gods will not interfere as long as Mortal Kombat has been declared. As an added bonus, Netherrealms will be aiding Outworld in the Tournament." Quan Chi said
"Hahaha." Shao Kahn's voices echos throughout the throne room. "Very well Quan Chi, I am actually in need of some entertainment. But first I believe it's time you freed Outworld."
"As you wish." Quan Chi said as he started reciting a spell and in that moment, a beam from the amulet shot into the sky, causing an Earthquake. As the earthquake ended, the Kingdom of Outworld was now free from it's exile.
"It is done." Quan Chi said placing the Amulet on his belt.
"Good, I believe it's high time I paid my fellow gods a visit." Shao Kahn said opening a portal as he stepped inside it. With Shao Kahn gone, Scorpion turned to Quan Chi
"You have your amulet Quan Chi, it's high time you resurrected my clan." Scorpion said
"Patience Scorpion. Like I said earlier, I will be gathering Kombat energy from the tournament to free my Master. It is he who has the power to bring back your clan. In the meantime time, let us make preparations for the tournament." Quan Chi opening a portal as he and a reluctant Scorpion stepped through it
"My, my, dearest sister, you look like shit." Mileena said approaching her sister
"I don't have time for this." Kitana said
"Oh, but I want to hear all about your stay in Vale." Mileena begged playfully
"Don't bore her with your questions." Reiko said as started walking away, causing Mileena to glare at him
Signing, Kitana turned to her sister. "If you must know…"
Raiden's Sky Temple Jinsei Chamber
With the loss of Shinnok's Amulet, the gods of Remnant have decided to meet up in Raiden's Sky Temple. Currently, Fujin is the only one not present.
"We must act now that Shao has not yet made a move." Delia said standing beside Argus
"I agree. Who knows what that snake is planning." Argus said.
In that moment a portal appeared, revealing Fujin
"Brother." Fujin greeted Raiden
"Fujin, it is good to see you again, though I would have preferred it to be under different circumstances." Raiden said
"Good, since we're all here I say we come up with a plan to storm Outworld." Argus said
"That would not be wise. We do not know how much Shao's military has grown, not to mention Shao himself." Fujin said
"Then what would you have us do?" Argus asked
"We must seek council from the Elder gods on this matter." Raiden said
"That will not be necessary." The four gods turned there attention to Shao Kahn who just walked out of a portal
"Shao Kahn." Raiden growled
"Lord Raiden." Shao Kahn greeted
"You befoul this hollowed grounds, be gone." Fujin said stepping beside Raiden, with the other gods doing the same
"Am I not allowed to visit my fellow Deities?" Shao Kahn mocked
"State your business Shao." Raiden said
"It is Emperor Shao Kahn to you, and I have come with a means to end the conflict between our Kingdoms. A final means." Shao Kahn said
"What do you mean?" Fujin asked
"Mortal Kombat." Shao Kahn answered
"What makes you think we would accept?" Delia scoffed
"I could always send my armies to your Kingdoms to destroy them. Face it Delia, though merging of Kingdoms is forbidden, invasion is not and so you will have no aid from those toothless worms. With the tournament, you can prevent unnecessary blood shed. The choice is yours." Shao Kahn said folding his arm
After a brief silence, with the four gods mentally debating their options, Raiden finally spoke. "We accept."
"Then the Kingdoms are as good as mine. I will give your warriors one week to prepare." Shao Kahn said opening a portal as he left.
Vale Safe Haven
Liu Kang had just finished explaining what Outworld is to his fellow students, including Shao Kahn.
"So let me get this straight. There's a fifth Kingdom we didn't know about, also gods exist?" Sun asked
"I'm not sure my brain can handle all of this." Coco said rubbing her head
"Tell me about it. Like we just found out Hanzo is a Demon." Neptune said
"So much for being a good guy." Cardin scoffed
"Hey! He isn't evil…he just didn't have a choice." Weiss said
"Maybe, but what about Kitana?" Neptune asked
"I don't think she's evil too. She did risk her life to save me and Jaune." Pyrrha said
"This is just great. We just lost two of our heaviest hitters to the bad guys, can this day get any worse?" Johnny complained throwing his hand up, when suddenly Dark clouds began to form unnaturally in the sky, as though answering his question
In that moment, the hologram like face of Shao Kahn appeared in the sky. Unknown to the student, this was happening all over the Kingdoms as well
"People of Remnant, I am Emperor Shao Kahn, ruler of Outworld. In one week, a tournament will be held in Outworld to determine the fate of all Kingdoms. All are invited to participate in hope of defending your Kingdom. Transportation to Outworld will be made available in all Kingdoms in respect to the Tournament. Now then, I look forward to see how you all stand against Outworld's might." Hologram Shao Kahn said before letting out an evil laugh as he slowly disappeared
Everyone present just turned to Johnny after the message ended
"Me and my big mouth." The Movie star groaned
