"Our we there yet?!" Moaned our hunched over spiky haired hero.

This complaint made our other hero sigh "Gary... We've only been walking for about an hour"

The duo was walking currently walking through the woods known as Viridian forest, While one was taking in the beauty of the lush woods, the other was running on fumes and couldn't care less out their surroundings.

"Hey man I'm a pokemon professor!" He plopped down on his ass "I don't do this every year now."

Ash just shook his head but he some what understood his friend "Alright we can take a quick break."

The boys sat down on what Ash thought was nice pile of leaf's but Gary thought it was the cold hard ground.

"First my legs hurt, now my ass is going to hurt" he rubbed his already sore bottom.

"Hey at least we have these leaf's"

Ash was patting the leaf's as is he was thanking them, Gary just scoffed and tried to lie down "You always were a glass is half full kinda guy"

"And you were always a glass is half empty guy" He countered.

Both laughed, not because something was funny but at the fact that they knew so much about each other.

The pair had been friends since they were children, There the definition of childhood friends...NO LOOK IT UP YOU'LL SEE THEM THERE!

They'll piss each other off but also pick one another up when the other falls down.

True friendship.

As times passes Gary was laying on his back using his pack as a pillow of sorts. But Ash was deep in thought, there were many things on his mind, but the one on his mind the most was May.

"May" he thought, the girl that made his pick up his bag once more to look for her.

Our Raven haired hero was trying to think where she would be.

"Hopefully still in the Hoenn region" The boy once again thought.

The Hoenn region was where Ash and Gary was headed first.

"She couldn't be to far from there. right?" As Ash continued to talk in mind Gary stood up and looked at his watch, an hour had passed.

The professor in training walked over to the boy and kicked his leg "Get up! It's been an hour already."

"Ow!" The pokemon champ sprung up rubbing his leg all the while "Damn..."

Gary pulled his big pack over his shoulders and flicked leaf's out of his hair "Quit being dramatic, I didn't kick you that hard"

Ash too picked up his bag and a sleeping Pikachu, which he put in his bag so he can still sleep.

"So" the boy with brown hair said looking at the sky "What were you thinking about?"

"That was smooth!" Gary thought to himself. Remember he is here to study Ash's behavior.

Ash, a little surprised by his friend's question looked at him in disbelieve before regaining his composure and started to answer him "I was just thinking about how I hope May's still in Hoenn, you know so we don't waste our time."

"Ahhhh" monotone Gary said.

"DAMN THAT'S NOTHING TO DO WITH BATTING OR BEHAVOR" Thought our secondary hero.

"Okkkk." Our main hero said "If he's going to replayed like that. THAN WHY EVEN ASK!" he complained in his mind

The duo was now in silence as they walked the rest of the forest and made there way to Pewter city, Where they might run into a familiar face.

"Ahhh DAY BREAK" Gary exclaimed pointing at the light piercing through the exit of the woods.

"Oh!? I guess were done here" sounding a little sad Ash pushed forward.

Once again there opposing opinions clash once one, Gary was done with the forest the moment he stepped in but Ash seemed to enjoy his time in the bug filled woods.

When the two went into the light they were now in Pewter city a town known for it's rock's.

They made their way to the local pokemon center to take a short break. then it was time to catch a boat to Hoenn!

When they enter they saw strange but familiar sight.

A Tanned man in a dark green polo shirt with an open black and orange vest over it. light gray pants, the leg cuffs tucked into his blue and white boots. (His sinnoh outfit)

This man was on his knees and grasping the nurse joy's hand with his right hand and holding a rose in his left.

"BROCK?!"

The man turned around to see who called his name and when he did, a big smile creeped on his face "ASH?!"

The two rushed at each other and hugged and the now awake pikachu jumped onto Brock's shoulder.

"What are you doing here?" Brock asked releasing from the hug with a smile and petted Pikachu behind the ear which made him coo

Ash got serious and looked Brock in the eye "Have you heard that May won the Hoenn grand festival?"

"Huh? Yeah I saw it on the news the other day. What about?" Brock could tell it was something important by the look in his best friends eyes.

While Brock and Ash were having a serious conversion the camera pans to Gary sitting in a chair bouncing a ball off the wall into his palm. He sighed "If there going to have there edgy anime staring contest, I guess I'll have to entertain myself until the plot move's forward."

He continued bouncing his ball until The pink haired nurse walked up him and caught his ball and said "Sorry but I'm taking this away, It's very noisy" very politely.

Gary just watched in awe as the only thing keeping him occupied was taken away.

Back with Brock and Ash, They were still staring at each other until Ash said "Norman told me that she never came home after her interview, and no ones seen her since."

"What?!" Was the only words Brock could stutter out after this news. The girl he considered his little sister was missing.

"I was the same way when I heard the news" Ash looked down, but right back up to meet Brock's gaze. "That's why were going to take a boat to Hoenn and look for her."

"Were?"

"Yo" Gary walked up to the pair making a peace sign.

"Gary?!" Brock was surprised to see him but also surprised he didn't see him sooner.

He threw his arm over Ash's shoulder and said "Yep Ashy boy and I are on a mission"

"I see" The older male mumbled.

"That's were going to catch the first boat to Hoenn" Our hero said with fire in his eyes.

Brock closed his eyes and there was long silence between the three.

"If your going to find May, Then" Brock opened his eyes in a dramatic way "Count me in!"

Ash and Gary were dumbfounded, not expecting that type of answer from their friend.

"Are you sure?" The professor in training asked "What about the gym?"

"Forest can handle it" Brock quickly replayed "Hell, Dads been telling me to let him be the leader for awhile."

Ash and his spiky haired companion thought for a second before making an obvious decision.

"Welcome aboard Brocko" The pokemon champ smiled at his longtime friend.

Brock returned the smile "Happy to be aboard."

The now trio was happy to have one another until the recruit had a sudden thought.

"I GOT TO GET HOME!" The Pokemon doctor in training bolted out of the center leaving flames were he once stood.

Ash and Gary laughed at their friend but followed suit to the pewter city gym.

The duo just traced the skid marks to the city gym and home of the Harrison's.

Now our heroes are stood in front of the main door to the building in silence, until Gary spoke up "Do we knock?"

"I guess." Ash knocked on the door in two quick motions.

They waited almost going in for another knock but before Gary could put his fist on the door, it open to reveal Brock's oldest sister, Yolanda.

She had a short white dress with a blue line down the middle and what seemed to be two hearts on the chest area.

"Yes who is it?" She said when she opened the door "OH!" Her eyes opened wide when she saw who was at the door.

She remembered Ash from the times he would come over "Come in Ash! it's good to see you" The maybe 12 year old girl smiled.

"UHHH T-Thanks." He walked in with Gary tailing behind.

"What was with the stutter?" He whispered into his companion ear.

"Oh Well, She remembered my name..."

"Yeahhhhh?"

"I DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE SHE IS!"

Gary fell down anime style but got up quickly and face palmed. "So what."

"I just fell like a bad friend, not remembering his sisters name" he replayed with his face in his hands.

"He's got like three more sisters other than that one, I think you're fine"

Our heroes walked into the kitchen, trying to find where they friend dashed off to.

"Bingo" Gary snapped his fingers when he said his one liner.

The pair was watch Brock cook something with his pink apron on.

"Oh hey guy's! You didn't have to follow me here you know." He said stirring a pot with a ladle with hand.

"Well you ran off in such a hurry, we wondered what was up" Gary walked up to stick his finger into the pot before Brock swatted it away. "Ow, Damn" He cursed rubbing his hand.

Brock shook his head at the boys action but answered his question anyway, "Well I promised my family that I'd cook dinner tonight and if I'm going with you guys, than I want to give them all the Brock food I can."

"Ahhhh That's why the pots so big" Ash pointed out with a smile "I understand completely."

"If you want you guys can stay for dinner" Brock suggested his eyes not leaving the pot while pouring some spices in his dish with a smile. He always did enjoy to cook and it made him happy when the people around enjoyed his cooking too.

"Alright!"

"I'd hate to intrude."

Ash and Gary said respectfully.

"Ah come on Gar we'd love to have you." Brock reassured.

"Gar?" He mumbled wondering where the nickname came from "Alright, if you don't mind, then I'll stay."

"OK!" Ash pumped his fist into the air, showing his two friends that he hasn't changed as much as they thought.

Brock let out a chuckle and said "Go wash up I'll be done in about ten minutes."

Ash dashed to the bathroom while Gary stayed in the kitchen.

"Is something wrong man" Brock asked grabbing bowls from the cupboard.

He stood quite before he spoke up and asked "Brock can we talk?"
