I don't own pokemon or anything I reference!
Ash, Brock and Gary deboarded the boat and looked around the resort island, "Well, here we are." Gary mumbled, looking around.
"'Ey, boys, you need me to stick 'round?" The cowboy asked from the boat.
Ash flashed him one of his iconic smiles, "Nope, you can go on home, thanks a lot, mr..."
"Huck." The cowboy, now known as Huck tipped his hat and smiled, "Alright, if you say you're okay, then I'll leave you to it, Ash."
Ash's eyes went wide, "I never said my name..."
Huck readjusted his hat, "I may be a cowboy, but I ain't a man who lives under rocks."
Gary chuckled, "You're either really good at the name game, or you know Ash."
Huck nodded, "Of course, Ash Ketchum is quite the name these days." Ash blushed and rubbed the back of his head, "So, it was an honor to boat you over 'ere pal."
Ash smile and nodded, "Well, thanks a lot, Huck. But, we gotta get going."
"Of course." Huck said, started up his boat, "I'll see you around pal." And off Huck went.
Brock placed a hand on Ash's shoulder, "Let's get going."
Ash nodded, "Yeah. We need to find May!"
Gary scoffed, "As much as I love posing and staring out to the beyond, do we even have a plan...?"
Ash and Brock sweat dropped and let out an embarrassed laugh, "Well..." Ash trailed off...
Before anyone in the group could so anything more, a new voice entered their ears, "You three seem new to the island!" The gang turned around to see a lean man with shoulder length silver hair, in a sky suit and a woman, who had the same hair color, just longer also in a sky suit, walking towards them with a friendly wave, "Hey there!"
"Uh, hey!" Ash greeted back with an awkward wave.
"Is this your first time on the island?" The woman asked.
Brock got a short nod, "That's right."
Gary leaned into Brock and whispered, "Are they guides or something...?" Brock simply shrugged in response.
Ash decided that the mystery had gone on for long enough, "So, did you need something from us?"
"OH!" The man gasped and then let out a laugh, "Oh, no, sorry." He regained his composure, "I'm Yuta, and this is Aiyumi, my sister, you see, we are members of the flight area on the island." The man explained.
Gary interjected, "Are you trying to recruit us, or somethin'?" He asked with wary eyes.
Aiyumi waved her hands in defense, "Oh, no. We're just welcoming you to the island... and letting you know about the flight area..." She quickly added on that last part.
"So I'm not far off..." Gary muttered.
Ash sighed, getting tired of this interaction going in circles, "Sorry, but we don't have interest in the flight area." He said, as nicely as possible.
Yuta nodded kindly, "Understood, but, if you don't mind me asking, why have you come to this island?"
The three boys all looked at each other, as if having a silent conversation, they all nodded once they were done 'talking' Ash was the one who replied, "Were here for the... ribbon syndicate..."
An understanding smile formed on Yuta's face, "Ah, I see."
The trio was taken-aback by this, not knowing that the Ribbon Syndicate was a real thing, "Y-you know it?" Gary asked with a twitching smile.
Aiyumi smiled, "Of course, it's starting tomorrow, so of course we know it."
"HUH?!" The boys all yelped in surprise.
Yuta was confused by their reaction, "Well, you got here right on time, eh?"
Gary let out a forced laugh, "Heheh, yeah, guess so..."
In an abandoned team Magma facility. Moriarty looked around his new base, it was alright, he just chose it for being unknown by the common man. Moriarty sat in a chair in his make-shift office, he rested his cheek on his fist. Then, his attention was brought to the steel door that slid open revealing on of his grunts. The grunt walked up to their boss and saluted, "Sir, the guest has been moved here."
Moriarty gave a slight nod from his fist, "Very good, bring her in."
"Sir!" They ran through the door and quickly returned with a hand-cuffed brunette with twin tails and a striking red outfit.
Moriarty walked up to the girl and bent down to look her in the eyes, "Well, it's good to see you again, May Maple."
May rolled her eyes, "Can't say 'likewise...'"
Moriarty let out an amused laugh, "Such sass, so resistant!" He clapped his hands, as if applauding her, "No wonder they choose you..." He muttered, glaring at May.
May looked down to the steel floor in boredom, "You're still looking for them...?" She quickly adjusted her gaze to scowl at her captor, "What do you want with Manaphy!?"
Moriarty slowing shook his head, "It's not what I want with them, it's what I want them to do for me." He looked at May, who was expecting him to continue, "I suppose I can enlighten you, you have been here for awhile now..." He leaned onto his desk and crossed his arms, " You see, Ms. Maple, once upon a time... I was lost... But, when I opened my eyes... I was on this island... There, I meet three spirts... Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf..."
"The three lake guardians of sinnoh...!?" May murmured in shock, "So, you went after them first?!"
Moriarty let out a low chuckle and shook his head, "No, no... I only found them by chance..." He explained, a wry smile on his face, "I thought their appearance was a sign from the gods... I thought some sort of god, be it Arceus or Giratina, had shown me pity... so I asked them for something..."
May scoffed and rolled her eyes, "I hope it was 'world domination' or something deranged like that..."
"Heh, no... I asked them... for power... the power to defeat the foe that was baring my path..." The man said, clenching his fist in anger, "But all did was banish me from their dammed island... those disgusted eyes... I still remember them..."
"Of course they banished you, why would they ever give power to someone like you!" May uttered, venom in her words.
"Heh, maybe you're right..." Moriarty chuckled, "Those three... All I wanted from them was the end to my suffering... but all they did was curse me..." He walked up to May cupped her chin, making sure she looked right in his cold eyes, "That's why I'll find Manaphy, I'll force that thing to take me to those three, and I'll have my vengeance!"
That's the end of chapter 19 of LPAOD! I know it was pretty short, but I have a slight writer block at the moment, so I need some time to think of where I want to go from here, but I still wanted to get one out this month, so here we are! Now we know the villain's cause... well, some of it anyway! Heheheh... I hope you enjoyed, see you later friends of fanfiction!
