Eternal Youth Spa
Vlad Plasmius is not in a good mood.
In fact, he is miserable as he was stuck doing a "favor" for Vilgax.
"Arrogant alien. Once I get that little watch belonging to Daniel's new BFF, I'll teach you to mess with me..." The ghost villain muttered as he waited at his desk, having had to cancel plans to watch a Packers game.
"Plasmius! What progress have you on dealing with Tennyson's ally?" Vilgax's voice was heard on the other side of the monitor on Vlad's desk.
"So far, I've only been watching, waiting for an opportunity." Vlad said with a fake smile as he continued sit down.
I'd rather watch the game... The bitter ghost thought in misery as he kept listening.
"In any case… it is fortunate, as I may have need of your abilities in a specified location on Earth. Your powers will be of great use and speed up my plan." Vilgax said.
"What is it, exactly?" Vlad asks.
"You will know what the item is once you find it. I am sending the coordinates to you. You will have until sundown tomorrow to retrieve it." Vilgax says.
"Sundown?" Vlad asks.
"You have no reason to reject my orders… do you?" Vilgax questioned.
Vlad put on a nervous grin.
"No, not at all!" With that, the transmission ended and Vlad groaned loudly. "Stupid seafood-faced freak… I'm going to need to cancel that weekend spa near Gotham for this…"
Seeing no way out of this, Vlad got out of his desk and decided to get to work.
With Danny
The ghost boy is with Gwen right now, and was happy to be around her, even if it was not Amity Park.
Because of their friendship with Kim, who was on a mission, they decided to spend the day away from eyes that knew them, in Middleton.
Now, our favorite couple was alone together.
"So, any plans?" Danny asked.
"We can go for a bite..." Gwen suggested.
"You're not thinking Bueno Nacho, are you?" He asks.
"Uh… no. Not a fan?" Gwen asks.
"Not exactly. Tried it when I tracked Technus down here about a week ago. Had to fly slow due to feeling nauseous." Danny answered.
"I agree. Too unhealthy. I remember Ben has that on our road trip 5 years ago. He got the runs and he vowed never again." Gwen informs him.
"Dang…" Danny said with a chuckle. "Cow and chow?"
"As long as they have chili." Gwen says.
"Fine with me." Danny said, smiling.
However, before they could go, they got a message on the Plumber's badge. It's Ben.
"Hey, you two..." Ben greeted.
"Ben, is there trouble? Trouble you promised to handle on a day off?" Gwen asked, not wanting an interruption.
"The opposite. We just got an invite to the Eternal Youth Spa..." Ben said.
"Eternal Youth Spa?" Danny question.
"It's this place near Gotham. Gwen? Remember Grandpa's friend Donovan GrandSmith? He was invited after finishing his new hotel in those mountains, then he gave the invite to Grandpa as a gift, and he thinks we should check it out. You know? Since we keep getting into fights with aliens and ghosts..."Ben suggested.
Gwen thought about it and smiled.
Some time away from trouble and a vacation... She thought.
"I think that could work..." Gwen said.
"Can I come too?" Danny asks.
"Sure, you can bring someone if you want. The invite was for 5 people."
Danny heard this and knew who he wanted to bring.
"I can bring Danielle." Danny said.
"I think that'd be great." Gwen said.
"Awesome… I'll let you know when we get going tomorrow." Ben said as the transmission ended.
At Fenton Works
Danny had returned home and remembered about his plans with his pretty girlfriend and her cousin.
"Mom! Dad! I'm going out tomorrow with… Gwen…" He says.
His parents heard this and thankfully it seemed they were okay with it.
"Okay, Sweetie." Maddie went.
"Yeah… more time with her could prove to Vladdie she's no threat." Jack said.
The ghost boy tried not to make a face at that.
If you only knew… Danny thought.
He went upstairs.
Once he made sure he was out of their sight, Danny morphed and flew upward, phasing through the ceiling and reaching their guest, who his sister was entertaining with her books.
"And this... is a book on cognitive psychology." Jazz said. "Use this in case you're bored…"
"Uh… okay…" Dani said with a raised brow.
She then noticed Danny.
"Oh, Hey Danny..." She said.
"Hey. Me and the Tennysons are heading to a spa this weekend, you wanna come with us?..."He asked.
"Yes!" Danielle said excitedly.
"Good, we go tomorrow." Danny said.
As he goes, the two remain looking at each other.
Both were silent until Dani spoke up.
"So… have you told him yet?" Danielle asks.
"I thought you would…" Jazz went.
"Really? You know his friends more than I do." Danielle brought up.
"It was your idea." Jazz reminded.
Danielle huffed, realizing she's on her own here.
On Saturday morning
The Rust Bucket was driving as the rest were watching the footage via Ben's phone.
They saw the video that featured two women speaking with the person the video was sent to, Mr. Grandsmith.
"Hello Mr. GrandSmith… I'm Violet."
"And I'm Lily."
"And we'd like to invite you…"
"To a free weekend at…"
"The Eternal Youth Spa!"
"Wow… they even speak in unison." Gwen went.
Her boyfriend, on the other hand, had a reminder of someone by that first name.
Violet… there's a name I haven't heard in a while. Wonder how she's doing? Danny thought.
He broke out of his thoughts when Danielle spoke up.
"Aren't we a little young to be getting involved?" Danielle asks.
"I called ahead, they said it was okay. They said anyone can fill in for GrandSmith." Max said.
"Huh? That so?" Gwen asks.
"Well, knowing Donovan, he'd insist we join in." Max said.
"Looks like we're here." Kevin said, pointing ahead. "Better get in disguise."
He put on his ID mask.
Once it was on, they were ready.
The RV pulled in. A camera watched them as the speaker turned on.
"Can we help you?" A woman's voice on the other end said.
"I'm Max Tennyson. I called earlier, filling in for Donovan GrandSmith." He says.
"Hold please…" The woman's voice went before it went silent.
As they waited, Gwen noticed a look on Danielle's face.
"Something on your mind?" Gwen asks.
"Huh? Oh… I was wondering…" She looked to see Danny speaking with Ben and Kevin and chose now to bring it up with Gwen. "About speaking Danny on Sam…"
Gwen nodded.
"I see…"
The younger girl noticed Gwen didn't seem upset to hear that name.
"You don't seem… mad." Danielle pointed out, surprised given Sam acted out of jealousy over Gwen.
"Well… I've been wanting Danny to speak with her. I can tell he's broken up about it." Gwen said.
"Well... At least Tucker's forgiven her. Jazz? Not so much…"
"I see…" Gwen went.
Before they could talk further, the voice on the speaker returned.
"Proceed." The woman's voice suddenly went as the gates opened.
Inside
A large domed greenhouse with hundreds of trees, a mansion in the center with a luxurious pool. All of the guests wore bathrobes. The younger guests found it odd that they had trouble finding robes of their sizes, much less found the food here more for older guests, but there was little choice for the staff.
"So this is it, huh? Neat." Ben said.
"Eh, not bad..." Kevin muttered.
All of them had changed into robes, along with the rest of the guests.
They all went to do their own thing. Ben decided to get some water and Kevin just leaned on a pillar to do the usual tough, bad boy look.
Danny and Gwen were now talking while Danielle still wondered when to speak with Danny.
I need a good opportunity to bring up the whole Sam thing... She thought as they went to go lounge by the pool.
It was here they saw a variety of older looking people, mostly business folk.
They all wanted to relax at the spa too.
"I think we're one of the few young people here..." Gwen said as she saw all the older people.
Her boyfriend nodded.
However there, Danny saw someone familiar.
"Is that… Violet?" He asks.
"The woman on the video?" Danielle asks.
"No… one I know… from the dating service." Danny answered.
His girlfriend sent an exasperated look at that.
"Here we go again…" Gwen groaned.
"I didn't plan this..." He said with an innocent shrug.
"Well… since we're here…" Gwen said as she gestured to Violet, following Danny.
"Violet?" Danny asked girl.
The dark-haired girl turned around and gasped.
"Danny?" Violet said, surprised to see him.
"Didn't think I'd see you here of all places." Danny said.
"Me neither…" Violet said, hiding a small blush.
She hasn't seen him since their blind date and although she's on speaking terms with Tony again, she does have a soft spot for Danny.
"So, what brings you here?" Danny asked.
"I'm here because my folks are friends of Mr. Deavors, who gave us his invite. You?" She asked.
''I'm here with my girlfriend. Her grandfather is friends with GrandSmith..." He said, gesturing to Gwen.
"Girlfriend?" Violet asked, looking a bit bummed.
She noticed the pretty red head who came to them.
"Gwen Tennyson, nice to meet you." She said to be polite.
''Violet Parr, likewise..." The shy girl said as she looked at her.
She's pretty... Violet thought, still a little bummed.
"So… what's been going on?" Danny asks.
"Oh, well… Tony and I are on talking terms again." Violet said.
"That's cool." Danny went, noticing the look on Gwen's face. "That's her ex-boyfriend."
Gwen now understood and looked at the other girl.
"I see, at least you're doing okay." Gwen said.
''Yeah..." Violet said.
Just then, they noticed someone arrived.
They saw a woman, possible early 30's, in a labcoat, wearing glasses, with red hair in a ponytail, approach them.
"Greeting, I am Doctor Daphne Demeter." The redhead with glasses said to everyone.
"Hello, Dr. Demeter..." Gwen greeted.
"I'm a little surprised to see children of all people come here." She admits, having an odd look on her face.
"Well… my little brother was a bit too… grounded to come. He and our baby brother are with a family friend." Violet said.
"I see…" Dr. Demeter said.
Danny's eyes squinted.
He didn't know why, but as Doctor Demeter spoke, he felt something about her felt familiar. Familiar in the wrong way.
Weird. Where have I seen her before? He thought.
"I'm sure you'll enjoy this weekend." Dr. Demeter said before walking away.
Once she walked away, Danny chose to speak with the girls.
"Do we know her?" He asks the two.
"Uh… no." Gwen said.
"I don't recall seeing her anywhere." Violet responded.
"Weird… she looks familiar." Danny says.
As Danny spoke to Violet, Gwen felt that something was wrong.
Weird… why am I feeling something wrong about this place? The redhead thought as she sensed something off when Dr. Demeter left.
As this went on, two more girls were outside the spa. Two who arrived via flight, seeing the entrance about half a mile away.
They are Kara Kent and Barbara Gordon.
They are in their civilian clothes and were whispering to each other.
"You sure Batman thinks she's here?" Kara asks.
"He's positive." Barbara responded.
Hours later, in the afternoon
Ben and Kevin were talking with each other as Danny left, deciding to take a walk.
Meanwhile, Danielle paced around, wondering what to do while Gwen was sipping her diet soda when she decided to speak up.
"You okay?" Gwen asks.
"Huh? Oh… yeah. Actually, no." Danielle said.
"Still thinking of when to say it?" Gwen asked.
"Definitely." Danielle admitted and Gwen sent her a sympathetic look.
"The right moment will come, don't second guess it." Gwen assured.
"I guess so…" Danielle admits.
It was then Gwen felt something wrong.
Weird, ever since we got here, I've been having a bad feeling. She thought.
She noticed Danny's absence took a while, but also felt uneasy.
"You okay?" Danielle asks.
"Excuse me… I need to see something." Gwen said as she got up.
Just then, Doctor Demeter spoke up through the speaker system.
"Ladies and gentleman." Dr. Demeter's voice went, getting their attention. "All adult guests, please come to the grove for a special treatment… Again, all adult guests, please come to the grove." She said.
That got the younger guests' attention.
"Weird that she emphasized adult guests." Ben said before something struck him. "Come to think of it… something seems really weird."
"How so?" Kevin asks.
"I dunno but... something just feels wrong." Ben admits.
Meanwhile
Danny was going down the halls, trying to figure out what it is about Demeter that seemed off.
"Let's see… I know I saw her before somewhere, but where? She's not a ghost, since my ghost sense didn't go off. I don't recall her being a teacher at Casper High. Is she one of the bad guys I met on my dates? Hmm… no, I can rule out Dr. Moron's hot sidekick. Well, she does look like Sam."
He stopped himself upon hearing that name, smacking himself in the face.
He was unaware someone was following him, carrying a weapon with her.
He shook his head. That was a name he didn't want to think about. Not after what happened.
"Not that Sam, Alex's friend. The redhead in green…" That's when he looked up. "Wait… green?" He then pondered. "Why does that feel like a hint?"
"Here's a hint!" A female voice with a very Brooklyn-sounding accent said.
Danny turned his head in time to see someone in black and red with a comically large mallet. One that would have hit him had a pink energy shield blocked her attack.
''What?!" Danny went.
"Back off!" Gwen shouted.
"Whaa?!" The woman dressed like a jester went.
Danny moved out of the way before she tried to attack again. Once Danny did that, Gwen recognizes the woman when she turned around.
"Wait a minute. Aren't you Harley Quinn?" Gwen asks.
''The crazy clown girl?" Danny asked.
Before Harley could do anything, something hit the ground at her feet.
"What the heck?!" She went.
''Huh?" Danny and Gwen said as saw what looked like a small ball at her feet.
"Danny! Other girl! Get back!" A familiar voice called out.
Danny recognized that voice.
"Barbara?" Danny asks.
Harley Quin then got overconfident as she stepped on it.
"If ya was gonna hit me, try a different caliber!" Harley laughed as she accidentally set it off.
It was a green smoke, a knockout gas.
Though Gwen's shield protected her, Danny wasn't as lucky as the gas was reaching him.
However, someone swooped in and saved him, pulling him away in time.
It was someone very familiar.
"Hi."
"Kara?!" Danny asked as she landed.
"Never thought a beautiful damsel would sweep you off your feet, huh?" The blonde heroine quipped.
Once the smoke cleared, Harley was knocked out on the floor. Gwen lightly tapped her foot on her face to clarify she was out cold.
"That was close…" She went.
She then looked up to see Danny picked up, bridal manner, by a blonde girl.
"Uh… Gwen? This isn't what it looks like." He said nervously.
"Thanks for the save, but please put my boyfriend down now." Gwen asks with arms crossed.
''Relax, I don't steal boyfriends." Kara said casually as she put Danny down.
Gwen sensed the mana from the blonde girl.
It was strong and familiar.
This power... I've felt it before. Gwen thought in awe.
She had to her, because she saw her in Metropolis once and got a read on her mana, it's very powerful and familiar.
"What's Supergirl doing here?" Gwen asked.
Everyone's jaws collectively dropped.
"Uh… what?" Danny went.
"I was in Metropolis once, I got a read on her mana." Gwen said. She noticed the two's reactions and decided to earn their trust. "I know Danny's secret, so I'm guessing you know his too."
Kara and Barbara shared a look before they both nodded.
Kara did a spin before appearing as Supergirl, while Barbara pulled her clothes off, revealing her batsuit underneath, before putting her cowl on.
"I'm Batgirl..." Barbara confessed.
Gwen looked at the two females and then her boyfriend, before she sighed.
"Let me guess… past dates?" Gwen asks, but holds a hand up before Danny could answer. "Actually… if they know your identity, there's a good chance it's a yes." Gwen says.
''Uh, yes..." Danny said sheepishly.
"You actually dated Supergirl and Batgirl?" She asked.
"Yes he did… Lucky Girl." Supergirl said as Gwen's eyes widened.
"I deduced it, especially since we sometimes keep an eye on Danny to see if he's okay without him knowing. I also deduced those aliens from 5 years ago was your cousin by virtue of seeing you and your grandfather in a lot of photos."
Gwen sighed and shook her head.
"Any other past dates you've seen around here I should know about?" She asks Danny.
Before he could say anything, they heard a scream.
"Guys!" Violet ran to them in a panic.
'However, she stopped when she saw the female heroes.
"Uh… hi?" Supergirl went.
"Supergirl and Batgirl?! What are- actually, that's perfect timing!" Violet went.
"Vi. What's wrong?" Danny asked in concern.
"It's my family. They're in trouble!" Violet said in a panic.
"What? What happened" Danny asked.
"Right after the announcement, I got bored waiting at the room and checked on what they were doing… I saw Dr. Demeter's girls spray stuff and everyone, even my parents, got all stiff!" Violet went.
''What?!" Danny and Gwen said.
"You'd better put your costume on too, Violet." Barbara says.
That made the dark haired girl flinch.
"W-What are you talking about?" She asks nervously.
''I know you're Invisi-Girl...It's simple… Mr. Deavors, Metroville's biggest fan of superheroes who made them legal there again, close friend of the Incredibles, who have a daughter with hair just like yours. Plus, you have the same body type to Invisi-Girl. I had considered reaching out to you and your family at one point in case you'd ever want to join the Justice League, but Batman, who doesn't know yet by the way, believes you're kind of out of our jurisdiction." Barbara says.
Violet was speechless while Gwen was nonplussed and Danny was stunned
"You were Invisi-Girl?" Danny asks before smiling. "Knew it."
Once those words got out of his mouth, he slapped himself on it to keep quiet.
"Wait… knew it? How'd… wait a minute. Were you… are you Danny Phantom?!" Violet asks. After Danny shushes her, he nods in defeat. Violet smiled. "I should have known! You both were too cute to not be the same person!" She remembered Gwen's presence and cleared her throat. "That is… not to say I'd ever steal another perso- wait, if he's Danny Phantom, who does that make you?"
"Explanations later, stopping Poison Ivy now." Batgirl says.
"Poison Ivy?" Gwen asks.
"Batman thinks she's behind this and sent me, with Supergirl as backup, to find out. Harley Quinn's presence here proves it." Batgirl continued.
"Since there's no reason for teenagers to be here, she must've wanted to take you guys out while the adults were distracted."
"Poison Ivy… I thought she seemed familiar." Danny said.
"I knew something about her felt off..." Gwen admitted.
"I recommend that you all suit up and help take her down." Supergirl says.
''Sure..." Danny said.
"We better get Ben and Kevin involved… minus major details on identities…" Gwen said.
"Right." Danny said.
In a few minutes.
Danielle, Ben and Kevin were back to their normal outfits after Gwen told them what had happened, with some omissions like Violet's identity.
''And that's what we need help on." Supergirl said.
The two boys smiled at the other girls' presence.
"Supergirl and Batgirl?" Ben said with a grin.
"Awesome…" Kevin went.
Violet pouted and crossed her arms.
"Why don't most boys get excited when I'm around?" She muttered.
She sighed as they continued their way to stop Poison Ivy.
As they headed to the grove, one of their number was missing.
"Where's Grandpa Max?" Gwen asks.
"Not in the room, he must've gone to the grove." Ben said.
"If that plant lady did anything to him, I'm making a veggie smoothie out of her." Gwen snarled.
"This is the second time I've encountered that plant lady…" Danny says.
That got his male friends' attention.
"You met Poison Ivy?" Kevin asks.
As Danny nodded, Kevin and Ben smirked.
"Is she pretty?" Ben asks.
"Is she hot?" Kevin asks.
"She's out of your league…" Gwen interrupted, crossing her arms and scowling at them in response.
''And she's legally too old for you..." Batgirl added.
The boys couldn't help themselves on that.
"What made you suspect Dr. Daphne Demeter was Poison Ivy?" Danny asks.
"It's in the name. Daphne Demeter." Batgirl explained.
While Gwen nodded, the boys, Violet and Danielle stared blankly.
"Uh… what?" Ben asks.
Gwen rolled her eyes.
"In Greek mythology, Daphne was a nymph turned into a laurel tree, while Demeter was the goddess of grain and harvest." She explained.
"Just a reminder, you're dating a C student." Danny said.
Once they reached the grove, they saw in horror what has become of the guests. All of them recoiled.
"Oh no…" Ben said.
''Oh my gosh!" Danny said in horror.
To their utter shock, the adult guests were still intact but not human anymore. They were now wood. They were either turned to trees or covered in bark as if it grew around them.
And on their faces were awful expressions of horror, meaning they were fully conscious when it happened.
"Grandpa Max?" Gwen asks in horror as she and Ben approached him.
They were both worried.
"Is… is he-?" Ben asked, but didn't finish.
Gwen's eyes glowed pink.
"He's alive… barely." She answered.
They aren't the only ones turned to tree as one girl saw her parents.
"Mom? Dad?" Violet asked, looking like she'd break down in tears.
Danny looked ready to assist.
"Maybe I can phase them out?" Danny offered.
"I'll help!" Dani went.
Supergirl did her x-ray and gasped.
"I don't think that's a good idea… the wood isn't just covering them, some of it grew out of them." She said.
''What?" Gwen said in disbelief.
"Somehow, it's growing out of every orifice of their bodies." Supergirl explained.
"We'd need whatever enzyme she used on them…" Batgirl said.
"Enzyme? When did she get it in their systems?" Kevin asks.
"The food?" Ben suggested.
''Maybe... she mentioned some formula she used in the food and drinks called Detrimite. That must be the enzyme she used." Gwen said, pondering.
"Well… what do we have here?" A voice went from above one of the trees.
Everyone looked up. Batgirl's fists clenched.
"Poison Ivy." She said.
Once Danny got a good look at her, he noticed how different she was and realized why he didn't recognize her immediately. Namely that her skin was much more human looking and her lips were pink instead of black. Not to mention her outfit was less revealing. She looked less like a plant themed supervillain and more like a swimsuit model with tights.
"Uh… is it me, or does she look a bit different?" Danny asks, recognizing Poison Ivy didn't have a green tint to her skin, and her outfit was less revealing.
"Batman hit her with a toxin that neutralized her plant-based powers, returning her to a more human-like state." Batgirl responded.
"I guess he has his types..." Danny said.
Poison Ivy groaned in disappointment.
"I was hoping Batman himself would come… I even had my hair done and everything." Ivy said with a disappointed look and a joking tone.
The other heroes raised a brow at that.
"Uh… is Batman her boyfriend? I thought he and Catwoman had a thing?" Ben asks.
"He does… she has a sort of love/hate attraction to Batman." Batgirl said.
"I DO NOT!" Ivy shouted before taking a breath to calm down. "Girls…"
"On it!" The voices of the girls from the video were heard.
From behind some trees, Poison Ivy's minions appeared.
Ben was about to hit the Omnitrix when the one called Lily took aim.
"Don't even think about it, Kid!" She went.
''Hey!" Ben yelled as he tried to get reach his watch but the weapon aimed made him stop.
"I was sincerely hoping Batman would come. I had hoped this would have convinced him to join me, seeing as we have much in common…" Ivy said as she gracefully landed on the ground in front of them. "We both strive to do evil doers punished. But while he has his rogues' gallery, I have my grove." She said while presenting the petrified people.
The young heroes looked disturbed but needed to know what she did to these people.
"What'd they do? Add to much broccoli to their smoothies?" Ben joked.
The villainess saw this as a means to explain her motive as she pointed to one male.
"This dog of a dogwood leveled enough trees to shade a small state..." Poison Ivy said as she pointed to woman. "And weep not for this willow...she slaughtered an ancient forest to produce cardboard. CARDBOARD!" She said dramatically.
"I take it she took drama in college…" Ben muttered with sarcasm.
"Probably…" Danny joked with him.
"If this supervillain thing doesn't work out, she can have an exciting career as a drama teacher." Kevin snarked.
"Shut it!" Both of Ivy's henchwomen went.
"Of course, I still owe GrandSmith for his involvement with that deforestation, and Deavors for his sister's allowing the construction of what was once a field of flowers. But for now, I'm content to settle for their friends." Ivy said with a sinister smile as she showed the people in question.
Violet saw her parents, while Ben and Gwen saw their grandfather. All of them gasped in horror before glaring hatefully at Poison Ivy.
"If she somehow succeeds in taking over Gotham, Batman better not forget their anniversary…" Supergirl whispered to snark about Ivy, which Batgirl nods to.
"She'd have to get in line between Catwoman and Al Ghul's daughter..." She muttered.
Meanwhile, Ben looked back at Supergirl.
"Supergirl… do you think you're fast enough to come and hit my watch?" Ben asks.
The blonde heroine nodded.
"I recognize the Omnitrix. I was on Krypton when the elder of Krypton rejected Azmuth's offer, sort of blacklisting them. Which alien do you need?" Supergirl whispered to him.
"Pick one that looks like a fiery plant." He said.
Poison Ivy didn't hear this as she kept telling them her reasons for actions.
"Of course, I still need to get Bruce Wayne for that slash and burn in the rainforest, but I have the patience of a redwood." Poison Ivy insisted.
"And the convictions of a fanatic!" Batgirl shouted.
Poison Ivy glared at that.
"Hmph… if none of you wish to be part of the solution, then you're part of the problem. Fortunately, these two are armed with enough of the enzyme to bury you all in wood for years. Ladies…"
Her minions were about to fire, except that someone decided to kill some time.
"Wait… before you do anything, I have a question…" Ben asks.
Ivy raised her arm to get them to lower their weapons.
"Speak your last words now, boy." She went.
"Why are you doing this?" He asks.
"Is it not obvious? To punish those who have hurt mother nature and to-"
"No, I mean why are doing this instead of actually helping nature?" Ben asks.
Ivy's look went from villainous to looking insulted.
"What was that?!" She asks.
"Why are you using this stuff on people to trap them in wood when you could have used it to grow destroyed forests back?" He asks rather bluntly.
"He's not wrong." Gwen adds.
"Really? You somehow devised an enzyme that can grow trees like that and instead of restoring destroyed forests, your first instinct was to use this on millionaires to turn them into trees? How does that help nature at all?" Danny asks.
"Besides, taking them out wouldn't stop their companies from deforestation, much less if it turns out they weren't the ones who approved of it." Kevin adds.
"Not to mention, you said you had plans for Bruce Wayne for the slash and burn. You are aware someone else approved of said slash and burn behind his back and he cancelled it." Batgirl asks.
"Yes, so?" Ivy asks.
"Why weren't you targeting the guy who approved of it behind Wayne's back?" Batgirl asks.
Ivy looked ready to answer, but found she had no words to use.
"Not to mention, why punish other people in their place? It sounds less like you want to help nature and more like you're taking it personally for its place. And by the way, never do that, you come off as disrespectful and an idiot when you act like you're more offended than them." Violet says, sounding venomous at how her parents were trapped.
"Seriously! You somehow got the money to make this fake spa, make this enzyme stuff and hire these two and instead of doing any actual good for plants, you do this?! How does this benefit anyone?" Danny asks.
As Ivy snarled at their actions, her henchwomen looked somewhat convinced.
"They got a point, boss." Lily went.
"Yeah, how is this a good thing? It's like you're hogging what could be useful for something petty…" Their Violet went.
"DID I HIRE YOU TWO TO VOICE OPINIONS? NO?! THEN SPRAY THEM!" She ordered loudly.
"Now!" Ben shouted.
"On it!" Supergirl went.
With her speed, she found the alien Ben was talking about and hit the Omnitrix.
In a flash, he morphed into the alien he asked for.
''SWAMPFIRE!" He announced loudly.
The villains tried to attack him first by firing at him.
To Poison Ivy's horror, the enzyme wasn't doing anything to Swampfire, taking the full force of the blast.
"This enzyme is three times the strength of that which the others took… he should be sprouting leaves now…" She said in horror.
"I'm a plant, genius!" Swampfire said. "And by the way…"
To her horror, Swampfire's hands shot out flames, burning some of her trees.
"NOOO!" She shouted in an over-the-top dramatic fashion.
"This stuff is like a vitamin boost to me!" Swampfire said.
"Uh… Ben?" Gwen called out.
She pointed to the trees being on fire, remembering they were in a green house and that there were people trapped in bark.
"Oops…" Swampfire said.
"I got this…" Supergirl went.
As she used her speed and super breath to blow out the fires, Ivy's henchwomen aimed at a new target. That target is Kevin.
"Gotcha, punk!" Lily went.
They blasted him but to their surprise, he wasn't affected at all either.
"Uh… why isn't he covered in tree bark right now?" Violet, Ivy's henchwoman, asks.
To her response, and the villains' disgust, Kevin took his ID mask off and revealed his condition.
"Right now, my body is made of all sorts of inorganic material. It's like trying to plant a seed in a steel wall." He answered with a smirk.
"What now?!" The henchwomen asked their boss.
"Aim for the others!" Poison Ivy ordered.
Before they could fire again, a green and pink blast of energy destroyed their guns, rendering the packs on their backs useless.
"I would start dusting off those resumes right now." Danny said.
"Well, maybe not now. Probably in 10-20." Gwen added.
The henchwoman realized that there was no means of fighting back.
The two tried to make a break for it, but Batgirl threw her bola at Lily, wrapping around her legs and making her fall. She saw her partner make a break for it.
"Hey! Get back here!" She called out.
"Survival of the fittest!" The escaping henchwoman called out.
However, the heroes wouldn't let that happen.
"Violet, a hand?" Danny asked.
The henchwoman scoffed at that.
"Why would I help y-" The henchwoman called out before colliding with something. "Oof!" She went before falling down, allowing Gwen's mana to hold her down.
It was an invisible wall, once created by a much nicer Violet.
"He means me." Violet answered.
While the heroes tied up the two henchwomen with Batgirl's rope, someone was missing here.
"Ivy's gone." Dani points out.
"Supergirl… can you track her with your X-ray vision?" Danny asks.
Supergirl did so and frowned at the absence of Poison Ivy.
"I don't see her yet. She knows this place well, so I'm assuming she knows how to hide." Supergirl answered.
"Gwen? Mana?" Danny asks.
Gwen's eyes glowed pink, but she didn't see her.
"Nothing yet. These trees have their own life energy, not as strong, but there's enough to block my view. I could try and focus harder, but she might make a break for it." Gwen said.
"She's gotta still be here, fan out and find her." Batgirl said.
"On it..." Swampfire said as he went in one direction.
"I'll go this way." Kevin offered.
"I'll tag along in the air." Dani says.
"Thanks, could use help here." Supergirl answered.
She nodded and followed along.
Everyone took separate directions.
Moments later
Alone, Danny hears a rustling above.
He looked around, seeing what looks like a makeshift lab.
That must be where she makes the stuff. He thought.
He looked up and saw what looked like Poison Ivy jumping from tree branch to tree branch.
"Nice, Lady. I bet if you take over the world or whatever your plan is, you and Batman can have workouts together. Then again, pretty sure doing stuff like this is a massive left swipe." Danny snarked.
"I thought you superheroes believe in justice!" He heard her call out.
"Justice yes. But not the rantings of an ecoterrorist. You're as destructive as those you want to hurt. Heck, I think you do more harm than good for the environment since you keep endangered roses hidden just to make poisons instead of regrowing them, or make an enzyme that could repopulate destroyed forests but use it as a weapon." Danny said, looking around.
That did it. The plant villainess was really mad now.
"You want me to use an actual weapon?! So be it!" Ivy shouted, coming out from behind a tree and shooting her arrow.
In response, Danny went intangible, letting it pass through him as it hit a tree.
"Ghost powers, remember?" He asks.
Ivy, on the other hand, was furious.
"Look what you made me do to my beautiful tree!" Ivy shouted in anger.
"Oh no… this poor tree that you've been using to make your juice that turns people into plants instead of helping destroyed forests…" Danny said in faux-horror.
"DON'T YOU MOCK ME!" She shouted. Then she had a smile. "Actually, I found this rare flower that I extracted its pollen from… just in case I somehow encounter you again…"
She tossed a small bag she had from her lab at him.
Once the bag hit Danny, the pollen came out and, to his horror and confusion, made him feel pain as he took a knee.
"W-What's going on?" He asks, feeling drained.
"The flower was a rare Blood Blossom. Legends say it weakened ghosts… looks like it's true…" Ivy said, walking up to Danny with another arrow. "I don't suppose you want a goodnight kiss, do you?" She joked before aiming.
Before she could fire, a pink bolt shot from behind Danny, pushing Ivy away and into her makeshift lab, knocking over the table.
''Get away from him!" Gwen shouted.
"Gwen?" He asks in relief as she helped him up.
"The only one kissing you is me." She said.
As she got up, Poison Ivy saw the remains of her lab.
Ivy gasped in horror at the sight of a container that was now broken.
"The enzyme!" She said in terror.
"So much for your master plan." Danny said confidently.
"Don't you fools get it?! The enzyme affects all organic material!" Ivy shouted.
"So?" Danny asks.
"The ground here is filled with roots!" Ivy answered.
Gwen's eyes widened with horror at that realization.
"Uh oh…" She said.
"What is it?" Danny asks.
"Remember how Swampfire said it felt like a vitamin boost? Well, he's a sapient alien… these trees aren't… which means-"
She was cut off when the ground started rumbling.
The ground beneath Poison Ivy herself shook the most violently, and she was too late to run away.
"NOOOO!" Poison Ivy shouted as she was elevated up by something coming out of the ground.
To the surprise of the two teenage lovers, looks to be the top of a tree, one at least 20 times the size of the already large ones surrounding them.
The enzyme caused the roots to merge and create a new, bigger tree, one that was growing at an accelerated rate.
"That would be… our cue to go." Danny said, carrying Gwen.
"Yes, please." Gwen pleaded.
He flew as fast as they looked back.
Because of the rumbling, everyone saw it happening.
"Whoa…" Dani and Supergirl said in unison.
"I guess they found her…" Kevin said.
"Everyone! Back to Ivy's goons!" Batgirl called out.
Once they all met up, where the henchwomen were tied up, they noticed something falling towards them.
"Glass! Everyone, huddle around me!" Violet said, creating a dome shield to block the shards from hitting them.
"How long is this gonna be?" Dani asked.
As soon as she finished that question, the glass stopped falling.
Once it was done, there was now a large tree that broke right through the dome, one that was 3 stories high.
Ben whistled in amazement.
"Just imagine the maple syrup from something that big…"
"Yeah…" Dani said in response.
As some gave the two weird looks, Batgirl remembered something.
"Wait… where's Poison Ivy?"
"I think she's up there." Gwen pointed upwards. "She was at the spot the enzyme hit the ground."
"I'm on it." Danny said, flying upward.
"Is she even still alive after that? Dani asked.
"She should be a pile of broken body parts by now…" Kevin suggested.
"Broken or not, we still need to be sure." Ben said.
"She can only wish it took her out." Batgirl said.
Danny flew up to the very top of the tree, seeing an unconscious redhead in green atop the highest branch.
There she is. Danny thought.
As Danny carried the unconscious Ivy down, he noticed she was still breathing. Once he landed, he voiced his confusion.
"Weird... why is she still alive?" He asks.
Gwen approached.
"She's alive?"
"Yeah. Any idea how?" Danny asks.
"Even if she wasn't crushed when the tree slammed into the glass, the cuts alone would've done more than knock her out." She said.
Just then, Ivy woke up.
"W-What happened?" She asked, shaking her head and realizing she was surrounded by the teenage heroes.
Before she could get away, someone fired a blast of ice that surrounded her around her arms and torso.
"Whoa…" Gwen said before looking to Danny. "Nice shot."
"That… wasn't me." He said.
After a moment, everyone looked to Dani Phantom, who had her hand out.
"I… I was gonna knock her down… then that happened…" Dani said, surprised by what she did.
Her cousin nodded before smiling at her.
"Nice…" Danny went.
"Yeah, nice." Supergirl said, giving Dani a thumb's up.
Dani smiled in appreciation at that.
"Let me out!" Poison Ivy demanded.
"Not a chance..." Gwen said to the villainess.
Meanwhile, it was now Danny noticed the glass looked fake.
"Wait a minute..." Danny picked up a shard. "This isn't real glass..."
''Huh?" Ben asked while the others picked up pieces.
They noticed how it felt different.
"He's right, it's that fake, breakable kind they use in movies." Kevin said.
"I guess she must've gotten them on sale." Ben snarked.
"... I did." Ivy admits bitterly.
Batgirl then approached Poison Ivy.
"Now, where's the cure for them?" Batgirl demanded.
Ivy scoffed.
"What makes you think I'd have made a cure for these enemies of all green?" She asks.
"Because you might be crazy enough to think you're an emissary of nature, or have a shot at Batman..." Batgirl said snidely at that last part, earning a scowl from Ivy. "But you're not dumb enough to make something like that without some kind of cure in case you, your cronies or gal pal inside got it on you."
Ivy maintained her look before groaning.
"It's in my office."
Later
With Batgirl's expertise and Supergirl's speed, the antidote of the enzyme was done, everyone was restored.
"Looks like no major side effects, Grandpa said he's alright." Gwen said in relief.
As the adults were coming too, Batgirl sent a message to Batman to send an ambulance just in case.
Once done, Vi turned to her new friends.
"Thanks a bunch... and don't worry, I won't tell anyone. We next generation of superheroes gotta stick together, right?" Violet asks.
The others smiled and nodded. Meanwhile, Danny turned his attention to Dani.
"That was a nice shot. Didn't think you'd develop ice powers faster than I would..." Danny said.
"Thanks." Dani went.
As everyone else spoke together, Supergirl and Batgirl huddled together.
"Who is that anyway?" Supergirl asks.
"I don't know… nothing on the Fentons suggest they have a second daughter." Batgirl responded.
The female heroes then approached them.
"By the way, Danny, who is this? I don't recall you mentioning a little sister." Kara asks.
"That's because she's not. Or, she is... kinda?" Danny went, unsure.
"I'm his clone." Dani answered bluntly, much to Danny's surprise. "What? We have an alien, half-aliens and a girl who was born with powers yet doesn't qualify as a meta, inhuman or mutant and you think that they'd think that was weird?"
"I... guess you have a point." He said before noticing the look on Kara's face. "Kara?"
Kara had an almost stunned look on her face before she reacted.
"Huh? Oh... uh... nothing."
The little ghost girl smiled at her.
"It's a real pleasure meeting you. Big fan." Dani went, hovering closer.
Supergirl pulled back a bit.
"Uh… sure." She saw the slightly confused look on her small face, then saw the somewhat hurt look on Danny's face before taking a breath and inching closer. "Not a… problem."
Dani smiled again.
"We better check on everyone." Danny said, getting Dani's attention. "Thanks again, guys." Danny said to them.
Once they were far enough, Barbara went to her.
"Kara?" Barbara asks.
"It's fine. I'm okay." She went.
Barbara sighed.
With that, the two decided to leave.
On the road back
An hour after leaving had passed. All of Poison Ivy's victims were saved and turned back to normal. Max took a breath of fresh air with the window open.
"That's the last time I go to some fancy spa. Next time we want some time off, we're going camping. Clean air, clean environment, fresh worm gumbo…" Max said.
Everyone made gagging faces at that suggestion.
Gross... Danny thought as he tried not to think of the last time that he had dinner with Gwen's grandpa.
As Ben and Kevin minded their own business, Gwen noticed how alone Danny was and Danielle was notably quiet.
She saw this as the opportunity she was looking for.
"Now is probably the best time…" Gwen whispered to Danielle, who nodded.
With that, Danielle got up and walked towards Danny, who became aware of her presence.
"What's up?"
Danielle took a deep breath and spoke.
"We need to talk… about Sam…"
Finally, new chapter with help from Flower princess11. Based on the episode of Batman: The Animated Series called Eternal Youth.
