"I am soo sorry I didn't recognize you in the first place, Endy. You have grown up so much in size since the last time I saw you."
Ikuko fluted to Mamoru while she was serving the dinner. Kenji was sitting next to him and cheerfully he spoke
"You can be really proud of yourself that you got the possibility to go on with your studies here in Tokyo at Keio-university. This is an institution only the best can study at."
"Endy, if you like you can have my room as long as you stay with us."
Shingo happily suggested to him while he was busy chewing his ramen noodles.
"Nah Nah, it's okay Shingo. I can stay at the attic. I don't need much space since I'll spend a lot of time with my studies."
While everyone seemed to be more than delighted to have their new found far related family member living with them in this house, Mamoru started to like the idea to spend some more time with the Tsukino family. As he had never really made such an experience in his life before.
A year ahead of the time he was currently in, Kenji had kind of accepted that Usagi started to date him but her father was still not convinced that she would be old and mature enough for a serious relationship.
If Kenji only would have known what had happened back in the days of the Silver Millenium and that Mamoru was no one else but the future ruler of the Earth, he might had thought different about the whole situation.
Mamoru liked Usagi's parents a lot but he always only had met them a few times and with Shingo he hadn't shared a lot of time so far. Maybe this was going to change and somehow, Mamoru was looking forward to the upcoming time. Until he got out of his thoughts by Ikuko.
"Usagi will be more than happy to meet you once she comes back from her school trip." She sung to him.
When Mamoru had manipulated everyone's mind, he had to come up with an explanation why Usagi wasn't at home at that time.
He didn't know when she would return but already decided to go upstairs with Diana as soon as he could in order to develop a plan, considering every facts such as all the fights with the dark kingdom they had experienced in this time.
Knowing about those things would give them the possibility to avoid any further chaos in the past. Once Mamoru was ready with the dinner, he excused himself by opting for an early night and went straight to his room at the attic, he opened the window and let Diana in.
"Why didn't you tell them about me yet?" Diana eyed him curiously while she stepped through the opened window.
"Well, that's an easy one. As far as I remember it from what Usako told me once, Luna isn't a part of the family yet and Shingo can't stand cats. That's why you have to hide until he will accept Luna."
"So you mean that I also have to hide in front of my mum as well?" Mamoru could read something like disappointment in the little cats eyes. Gently he stroke her fur.
"Don't worry, it won't be that long. As soon as I've manipulated Luna's mind, you can see her."
By his words, her gaze lightened up.
„So, concerning our plan for this mission I guess there are some things we have to discuss." Diana suddenly jumped up in the air and by making a looping, a little pink computer appeared by magic.
Mamoru raised an eyebrow and glanced at the little cat who immediately started tipping onto the keyboard.
"Is that something similar to Mercury's super mini computer?"
He got slightly surprised once the feline pressed her ear and pink transparent virtual reality glasses appeared and covered her eyes.
"Something like that indeed." She uttered whilst she turned her gaze highly concentrated to the display.
"So, Helios and Pluto were able to frame the period of time in which Galaxia's Star Seed is hiding in the past; it's this day until the day you and Usagi found out about your true identities and when the Holy Silver Crystal appeared."
She finally turned her eyes to Mamoru and put on a very serious face.
"You need to tell me as much as you can remember from that time. Any contact you had to the Dark Kingdom, any fight, any encounter you had with Usagi. Just everything so I can enter the details into my computer and let run an algorithm in order to find out the highest probabilities where and when we can find the Light of Hope."
When she had ended her speech, Mamoru's expression was unreadable until he managed to speak
„Wow, I must admit, I'm deeply impressed. How come you know all those things and in particular, where did you learn to use a computer?"
Diana shrugged merely and declared innocently.
"I guess I spend a lot of time with you and Amy in the future, so I learnt from the best."
Mamoru couldn't hide a grin and started to tell the little cat everything he remembered and Diana willingly entered any single information into the computer. This activity took several hours. It was almost midnight when they heard a noise coming from the floor below them.
Both looked up and Mamoru was more than sure when he stated
"That's Usako and Luna who are coming back from their first fight!"
"Shall we go downstairs and introduce you to Usagi?"
Mamoru hesitated and finally replied
"No, I don't think we shall do this now. This was the first time she had become Sailor Moon. She must be overwhelmed with all those new experiences she made today. Usako told me a bit about this confusing situation once. I don't want to bother her with all this stuff as well, tonight."
While he was saying this, he gave Diana a warm smile and added
"Tomorrow is a new day and since we are time travelers we should have a lot of time."
It was not as easy as he had imagined for Mamoru to introduce himself to his fiancee, because Usagi was like a phantom.
When he woke up the next morning, he went straight downstairs, but when he sat down at the breakfast table, Usagi was not there. Only Shingo and Kenji had breakfast while Ikuko was busy in the kitchen.
"Where's Usagi?" Mamoru turned his eyes from his future father-in-law to his future brother-in-law and vice versa.
Shingo sighed deeply and gave Mamoru the explanation for Usagi's absence.
"She is still in bed. It's the same every morning. She sleeps regularly. There is no power in the world to wake her up so she never makes it to school in time. Therefore, she gets detention. "
Kenji also sighed deeply with his son and added
"That's not quite right. She also regularly forgets about her homework and sometimes even sleeps during class. She is fourteen now, I'm tired of reminding her to do her homework or go to bed early, so she must face the consequences. "
"Don't forget her laziness to study for tests, Kenji. Yesterday, in her last English test, she brought home a disastrous score."
Ikuko seemed to be done with her work in the kitchen and also took a seat, sighing deeper than her son and husband before
"I hope she finds someone one day who will be able to support her in order to be able to manage her life."
Mamoru's lips escaped a slight smile when Ikuko spoke out her concerns.
"I think she is going through a very special time in her life. I wouldn't worry too much about her. Sooner or later she will make her way."
"Ahhh, you've said that very nice, Endy." Ikuko gave him a bright smile back and continued "I wish she would get someone like you one day. That would be a perfect match."
Mamoru couldn't say anything else to Ikuko since a loud noise was coming from upstairs, followed by a rumble and a deafening shout which bursted through the whole house.
„Ahhhh, I'm running late for school!!!!!"
She came downstairs like a tornado, jumped into the dining room and without looking at any attendee of the breakfast, she grabbed a toast and disappeared a millisecond after.
"Byeeeee!" She screamed with the toast in her mouth and smashed the door behind herself with a loud thud.
"See what I mean? Every morning the same." Shingo rolled his eyes to the ceiling.
"Right, so mornings are generally bad in order to see Usagi." Mamoru declared to Diana while he was walking to university through the busy streets of Azabu-Juban.
It had been an idea of Diana that he should go on with his studies while he was in the past since he didn't know if and when he would make it back to his life but at least he wouldn't miss a semester or maybe even two.
After Diana had entered every single information she had received from Mamoru, her computer had come up with a very low probability that the Light of Hope would appear during school time and also the weekends didn't seem to be that interesting.
Thus, Mamoru had decided to study at Keio. He even was able to study under his real name since the professors were complete different in higher classes and the schedule was the opposite of his first semester one.
Strangely enough, Mamoru nearly felt to live his normal life again. Apart from the tiny fact that he was actually in the past.
When his class was over, he made his way back through the busy streets of Azabu-Juban. The familiar Game Crown Center came into his view again. Mamoru stopped and took a look through the windows.
Motoki was passionately cleaning the counter but his gaze was directed to someone standing next to him.
Mamoru froze.
"Geez, that's me!!!"
All of a sudden, both men turned around and looked straight on him by carrying an odd expression on their faces.
Quickly and without looking back, Mamoru sprinted as much as he could to the Tsukino house.
He was desperately seeking for air when Diana stepped out of the garden and eyed him critically.
"What's wrong with you? Are you running in casual clothes?" She gave him an bewildered look.
"No, I just saw my past self and had to escape from this more than weird situation." He managed to speak by still breathing heavily.
"Oh, whoopsy daisy!" Diana said to him mischievously "you better should watch out where you are going." By recommending this, she turned around and faced a black cat who looked exactly like her mother. Obviously it was her mother when she started to speak.
"Who the heck are you?"
"Uhhh...ahhh...errr" The little grey feline didn't know what to do and with begging eyes she looked back at Mamoru who was the same clueless as she was.
Before Luna could say anything else, Mamoru had pulled out the white cat face ball. With an apologetic gaze to Diana's mother, he said
"I am really sorry that I have to do this, Luna but we aren't allowed to change anything in the past."
He screamed out the familiar words and within a few moments he held the white umbrella in his hands.
Luna was stunned by this show and didn't say anything. It was Diana who interrupted Mamoru to start the mind manipulation process.
"Please, Mamoru. I just want to say something to her before." She took a little step closer to Luna and with tears in her eyes, she said
"Mum, we are on a mission, similar to yours. But we are coming from the future and have to make sure that there will be peace again in the world we all love so much. Please don't forget that I love you, okay?"
She could see Luna barely nodding, now even more in shock than before.
When Mamoru twirled the umbrella around, Diana put on a serious face and declared to the black feline
"Right, my name is Diana and I am your little niece, helping you and Sailor Moon to find the Holy Silver Crystal as well as the Moon Princess. This man next to me is called Endy, Usagi's far related cousin. He might look like Mamoru but he isn't at all. He'll stay with the Tsukinos and live at the attic. There won't be any time that you'll be suspicious about him."
Once Diana had ended her speech, the umbrella stopped to move and Luna looked at both by meowing friendly.
"I honestly don't have a clue if this will really work." Mamoru spoke rather to himself when he beamed at the two cats and added in his mind.
'One step closer with our mission to find the Light of Hope.'
