Chapter 150: Sengoku Therapy Session

With their Gavil Chargers, the Duelists lowered themselves down the apparently bottomless hole lined with spikes.

"Ohdo Yuhi!"

"Kuaidul Velgear!"

"GO RUSH!"

"My turn! Draw! I summon three monsters!"

Carpendra (Level 4 EARTH Machine/Normal ATK 1400 DEF 0)

"Then I set two cards, and end my turn!"

"My turn. Proto-Velgear Draw. I summon Prime Washooter!"

Prime Washooter (Level 2 LIGHT Warrior/Effect ATK 0 DEF 800)

"Prime Washooter's effect activates. For every monster on your field with the same Level, I send one card in my hand to the Graveyard. And after, I add one LIGHT monster from my Graveyard to my hand! The Levels of all your monsters are 4, therefore I bury three cards and take one back! Next, I release Prime Washooter to Prime Advance Summon! Let me show you a greater joining! Jointech Prime Rex!"

"I return three LIGHT monsters from my Graveyard to the Deck to activate Prime Rex's effect! Carpendra's Level goes down by 3!"

"Then, I can destroy one card in your Magic/Trap Zone!"

"My Boot-Up Order – Gear Force!"

"Battle! Jointech Prime Rex attacks Carpendra!"

"Hold your horses! I have one more set card!"

"Ho ho?"

"Trap Card, Check! I look at the cards in your hand, and if ya have a Monster Card, your attack is negated! So Rex can buzz off!"

Kuaidul sent News Flash Machine Prime Toughroid to the Graveyard. "Turn end."

"My turn! Draw! I release one to Advance Summon! Here comes Needle Bunker!"

Needle Bunker (Level 5 DARK Machine/Effect ATK 1700 DEF 1700)

"Reduce my monster's Level? I'll pump up yours! I send two monsters from my field to the Graveyard to activate the Magic Card, Edict of Risebelt!"

"Edict of Risebelt?"

"Jointech Prime Rex's Level goes up by 2!"

Jointech Prime Rex (Level 7 ↑ Level 9)

"Ohdo Yuhi presents this to Needle Bunker! It's the Equip Magic, Machine Conversion Factory! 300 ATK and DEF up!"

Needle Bunker (ATK 1700 ↑ ATK 2000, DEF 1700 ↑ DEF 2000)

"Its ATK surpassed Prime Rex's?"

"That's just the beginning! As soon as Needle Bunker destroys your monster, you'll take damage equal to your monster's Level x 500 due to Needle Bunker's effect!"

"By 500? In other words, during this battle…4700 damage!" Kuaidul gave an amused laugh. "This is the volatility one must be wary of when crossing an Ohdo. Ohdo Yuhi! A maker of sharp objects from an outer Milky Way Galaxy that now needles through the competition in Rush Duels!"

Yuhi sneezed.

"Yuhi? Do you have a cold?"

"No, Yuamu…Someone must be talkin' 'bout me."

In the grand calculus of the Multiverse, space, time, and parallel worlds all existed and flowed contemporaneously with regards to the rumour/sneezing rule, regardless of place in linear chronology.

"Sneezing is nature's way of telling you to put on some pants!"

"Hey thanks! I didn't think of that! Forget that I'm wanted for beatin' the shit out of Otei Usu's army, let me just run over to the corner store and buy a pair with the money from this era I don't have, Manabu!"

Otes saw the maddening bloodthirst of this time period, and strove to replace the implements of war with Duel Disks. Then he could rejoice, "There's no conflict! No conflict!"

With the squirrels taking up residence on Zuwijo's shoulders and in his hair, the downfall of Zuwijo's character was complete.

A hissing Nyandestar turned down a cluster of grapes from a snake.

"Sorry. No meat, for obvious reasons," Epoch informed them.

Yuhi held Yuamu's hands. "I don't suppose Chupataro's with you?"

"He's not. He wasn't there when we were caught up in the effects of that card."

"Why wouldn't he come after me? I'm a tasty piece of meat, too!"

"That…might have been me."

"You, Yuamu?"

"Yuhi, don't you remember? What I went back to Earth to do?"

"Yeah! It's everythin' after I became Otes I don't remember! All that Dark Matter Empire and Dark Meister stuff…Still got it up here in the ole cranium!"

"So you know what I did to Damamu."

Damamu was crying. Damamu was powerless and in pain.

What's a little torture between family members? The road Ohdo Yuamu had chosen.

But seriously.

"Mm. That was cruel of you."

"That isn't something you forgive. Chupataro couldn't. Especially not after you took my place as Otes!"

"What'd he do?"

"It's not what he did. It's what he said. 'Get out!' Like he never wanted to see me again."

Yuhi scratched the log they were sitting on.

"He was right to be angry. I did hurt Damamu. It was because of me…because of my selfish belief I could help Yuga…that you became Otes, Yuhi."

"Yuamu…"

"I lost sight of the present. I lost you. I couldn't even save Yuna from Time Machine."

"Yuna was sucked in too?"

"She left of her own accord, and I couldn't stop her. Just add that to my list of crimes."

Yuhi had a quirky way of processing his sister's guilt: He smiled. His own smile, and not the Otes smirk.

"He'll get over it."

"What?"

"Chupataro will. That's how we roll, isn't it? I forgave him for all those times he lied to me. We forgave Yuna and Rovian…The*Luge and Zaion…Tremolo and Phaser…Zuwijo still pisses me off, but we're cool, right Zuwijo?"

Zuwijo offered no verbal response.

"Epo? Are you sure about that?" Epoch whispered in his ear. "He and your sister were almost Grampjo and the Dark Meisgranny!"

"Whuh? Dark Meisgranny? Grampsjo? WHAT THE HELL DID I MISS? Y-Yuamu…Don't tell me –!"

"We aren't!" Yuamu fought the allegations. "I couldn't! Not with this old man! Not with this self-important bakery owner!"

Zuwijo was unflappable through all this.
