Hello everyone! I recently read a fanfiction that inspired me to create this work. I know Kingdom Hearts in the world of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss is a more than ambitious project. But I kept wishing for this crossover, and then I said to myself, screw it. I'll just do it, I'll see it through, even if it kills me.
Right from the start, I won't censor any swear words or bloody scenes. If that's too much, please leave. I plan to capture the right mood, and that's part of it. So, I've warned anyone with sensitive souls. I don't feel obligated to do anything more... Let's get started.
Welcome to hell!
Sora felt weak and exhausted; the fight with Yozora had drained his last strength. This fight had taken everything from him to win. He truly had to admit that the young fighter was a tough and skilled opponent. And, above all, he had an incredible arsenal of weapons and magical abilities. The young Keyblade fighter might have won, but something told him that Yozora hadn't even been serious. Now he fell through this endless darkness; there was not the slightest light or sign of anything else, as if only he existed here. For what seemed like an eternity, Sora fell and fell, through the endless black void...
... until he suddenly hit the ground hard, groaning loudly. Desperately, the boy grabbed the back of his head and rubbed it; luckily, his brown hair often protected his head from such falls and hard landings. As soon as he tried to get up, a disgusting smell hit his nose, and he had to pull himself together to keep from throwing up. Only then did he take the time to look around, and his eyes widened. He was in a truly nasty alleyway, with trash everywhere and cracks in the asphalt. He could even see a few bones and red puddles on the ground, and he hoped he hadn't fallen into any of them. The buildings also looked dilapidated, their facades were damaged and also cracked. Panicking, Sora got up, still feeling a bit dizzy from his fall. He walked unsteadily out of the alley and then grabbed the edge of the building. With a puzzled look, the Keyblade warrior looked at a strange city that reminded him strongly of "The World That Never Was." He saw tall buildings with neon signs. But strangest of all was the red sky, in which a magical circle with a pentagram hovered. Sora could even see two planets, one of which was black and also had a pentagram. And a second, white one, that shone brightly.
"Where the hell am I?" the boy asked, confused, looking around.
"You just answered, 'In hell,'" he heard a male voice behind him, causing Sora to turn around and jump for a moment.
If the world traveler had learned one thing, it was that the inhabitants of other worlds could be different from humans. But this local looked even more shadowy and sinister than Sully and Mike from Monsters, Inc. The person looked like a bird monster, with owl-like ears, a face, and a short, pointed beak. His face was light gray, and his left eye had a black sclera with a red heart-shaped iris. His other eye looked completely normal, although his gaze was more than a little unpleasant. He had dark gray feathers all over his body, with black claws for fingers. It looked like he was wearing a trench coat, although the hem was very similar to feathers. He also wore a felt hat with a gray stripe.
Sora had seen many people smile creepily, but this guy had a downright disgusting grin on his face. He also radiated something dark that reminded the Keyblade warrior of Organization XIII. The figure held his chin with one of its clawed hands while examining him from above and below. With unsteady steps, Sora backed away a little, considering whether to attack the world's inhabitants.
"Hey, calm down. I know everything here can be very confusing. I felt the same way at first, so let me help you. Likewise, I know a place where they pay a lot of attention to a young 'kitten' like you. How about it?" the creature asked in a sweet yet very sinister voice, reaching for the boy's arm with its claws.
"I think I'll pass, and why do you call me kitten?" Sora replied in an aggressive and dismissive tone, swatting his counterpart's hand away.
As he did so, the Keyblade fighter noticed that his hand didn't look like a human's. It was covered in ash-brown fur, and while he still had his fingers, his fingernails were claws like those of a predator. He immediately looked at his other hand, where he noticed the same look. He also noticed that he was no longer wearing his shoes, and his feet looked like paws, which also had claws like a predator's. Taking a few steps back in panic, he passed the window of a shop, where he saw his face. It resembled his lion form when he was with Simba in the Pride Lands. Except his fangs were slightly sharper, and his two canine teeth protruded slightly from his mouth. He also now had two small horns protruding from his forehead and curved upwards. To match his appearance, he also had a tail with brown fur at the end. Unlike in the Pride Lands, he still walked on two legs and, thankfully, wore clothes.
He wore a black V-neck T-shirt with a white hem and black shorts with gray pockets. Sora wore tight shorts and a longer black hoodie with a red hem and gray pockets with a white hem. Even though his hands were now covered in fur and had claws, he wore his gray fingerless gloves that reached just below his elbows. The gloves had a red hem, a yellow strap around the wrist, and a circular silver plate on the back of the hand, the look of the Kingdom Heart. Luckily, his crown necklace was still there, which he instinctively reached for.
His initial shock quickly subsided, and he took a deep breath, even though the air here was a plague. The question in his mind was why he looked like that; Donald hadn't transformed him with his magic after all. Why had he assumed his lion form, and why... did he look so demonic now? A thousand questions ran through his mind, but the most important one was what world he was in.
"My new appearance here made me panic at first, too; that happens to everyone who goes to Hell. But don't worry... you still look pretty cute, and many people here will like your innocent face. Now stop being so shy and come with me," said the dubious-looking guy, laughing amusedly as he approached the boy again.
"Like I said... I'll pass, and now leave me alone," Sora said darkly, even starting to growl and snarl.
"Oh, someone's roaring really loudly, but believe me, that doesn't mean anything here. Someone like you will swallow Hell in one bite. Come on, little one, I can take you to a place where you'll be safe and earn some money for a few 'favors,'" the figure said in an urgent tone, emphasizing the word 'favors' in a very strange way as he extended his hand to the lion demon.
Sora's growl became even darker, so he summoned his Keyblade. It looked like a Great Key with a golden handle and a chain with a mouse symbol at the end. The local looked surprised and grinned at the weapon's strange design. He was about to make fun of it, but Sora quickly jumped at him and delivered a frontal punch to the stomach. With a sudden force, the figure was thrown far back onto the sidewalk, clutching his stomach convulsively.
"You little rat... that's what you'll..." the bird-like creature cursed in an annoyed tone before Sora held the tip of his Keyblade very close to the local's face, causing him to flinch.
"One last time... Ill pass, and if you come near me again, I'll get serious!" Sora threatened in a dark tone, baring his teeth as he stood over the figure.
"Hey... hey... we... we don't need to let this escalate like this. II... I was just worried, since a teenager is new to such a dangerous place. Let's forget about it and start from the beginning. My name is Travis!" the figure introduced himself fearfully, while putting on a fake smile.
"Sora... now leave me alone," said the young lion, walking away from the bird-like figure, who immediately stood up and saw that he was quickly gaining ground.
The Keyblade fighter put his weapon away and sighed. He'd never had to resort to violence so quickly in a world, and he felt anything but comfortable with it. But this local typ, Travis, radiated more than just dark energy; it reminded Sora of those types his mother had always warned him about as a little kid. Now, as a teenager, she seemed even creepier, and Sora had seen a lot of scary people. He walked slowly through the city streets and saw other inhabitants of the city, all of whom looked like monsters, and like the place itself, they looked neglected. Some had horns, others looked like animals, and others roughly resembled humans. What kind of world was this? What did Travis call this place...
Sora suddenly stopped and stared up in shock, saying in a stunned tone, "Hell... I'm in hell."
Immediately, his panic returned, and he began to breathe frantically, while the lion demon held his head with both hands. Was this some kind of punishment for abusing the power of awakening? Was he really sent to hell for saving Kairi and changing events? Or perhaps for saving Riku, Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Axel, Ventus, and Aqua from a gruesome fate. Perhaps it was all of these things, after all, the younger version of Xehanort had told him that he was beyond saving.
He slowly collapsed onto the street, and the first tear began to roll down his cheek. Never before had he wished his friends were with him. Even though Sora always claimed that their hearts were connected, at that moment he felt more alone than ever before. It was also at that moment that he realized he would never see his friends again. Surely none of them would ever end up in Hell, as they would never act as recklessly as he did. Suddenly, something occurred to him, and he frantically reached for his pockets when he felt what he was looking for.
"It's here... actually," Sora said incredulously, holding up his Gummi Phone.
He immediately tried to call his friends, but no matter what he tried, only a large X appeared everywhere. Of course... what did he expect? If you could call from Hell, surely plenty of people would have already done so. Dejectedly, he sat down, holding his Gummi Phone, when he was suddenly kicked from behind.
"Hey, bum, don't just sit in the middle of the sidewalk. Get your lazy ass out of the gutter with the other homeless people," a green shark-like demon in a hoodie and jeans roared aggressively, pointing toward the alley.
There, a small red demon with black-and-white striped horns, one of which was broken, sat next to a cardboard box. He wore only a green shirt and, judging by his unkempt beard, looked more than a little shabby. He also held up a misspelled sign that apparently read, "Money helps Satan bless."
"This place is already the last, and I've only been here for fifteen minutes," Sora said in a dejected tone, standing up.
"Enjoy it, asshole. Because in three months, things are going to get really shitty around here," the lanky shark demon said condescendingly, bumping into the slightly smaller lion demon as he passed.
"Do we really have to talk so condescendingly? That could have been phrased differently, and the bumping wasn't necessary either," Sora said in a somewhat offended tone as someone bumped into him again.
This time, it was a human-looking demon with a white skull mask and a biker outfit. He was a bit more muscular and taller than Sora. He also wore a headscarf with two holes on the left and right for his horns. These grew upwards like a cow's, giving him a bit more size. He had yellow eyes with normal iris.
The skull-mask demon immediately turned to Sora, pulled a switchblade with a long blade from his pocket, and spoke in an annoyed tone: "Hey, little piece of shite, are you trying to mess with me?"
"What? I have... I don't want any trouble," the lion cub said cautiously, taking a few steps back.
"Oh yeah? Too bad for you because you have it. I'll skin you and sell it. That top bitch Velvet is planning a new coat collection, I'm sure she'll give me something for your fur," the skull demon said in a dark and amused tone as he swung his knife.
Sora quickly jumped to the side and dodged as his opponent stabbed. He quickly summoned his Keyblade and used it to deflect the stabs of this murderous creature. The creature was briefly surprised before attempting to slaughter the young lion with continuous fire. The attacks were beyond sloppy and predictable. Still, the young Keyblade wielder had to admit that his opponent had plenty of energy and his attempts to kill weren't slowing down. Sora decided to end this quickly by using his "Thundaga" spell, incapacitating his opponent. But when the lion tried to use the spell against the demon, nothing happened. Additionally, the Skull Mask Demon took advantage of the boy's brief confusion to stab. But the Keyblade wielder dodged with a backflip and landed gracefully on his paws. He was astonished himself and wondered if it was due to his feline abilities, which he found quite useful, especially after his realization.
"Not again, I've lost all my abilities again. It's like this is just another new part of a video game, and you have to level up to unlock your abilities," Sora thought, annoyed, and growled angrily.
Meanwhile, several demons had gathered on the sidewalk, eagerly watching the fight and cheering. Some even took out their cell phones and excitedly filmed the whole event. For the lion cub, this was incomprehensible; a murder attempt was happening in the streets, and for them, it was just entertainment. It probably happened so often that it's become a daily occurrence.
"Wow, that kitten is very acrobatic," one of the spectators exclaimed, amused.
"And very skilled too, despite the ridiculous weapon he has," a second exclaimed enthusiastically.
"Come on, get serious. We want to see disemboweled organs!" a third shouted, to which everyone loudly agreed.
The demon with the skull mask was furious and cracked his neck, then spoke in a demonic tone: "You little rat, you think you can fool me? I'll show you what I do with arrogant jerks like you."
Immediately, the demon's body began to grow a little, gaining some mass, and two additional, skeletal arms sprouted from his shoulders. A third eye with a fiery iris opened right in the middle of his forehead. He pulled three additional knives from his pocket and jumped at the lion cub. The lion cub was shocked by the transformation; he hadn't expected it. The skull mask Demon attacked him alternately with his four arms, whereupon Sora either blocked the blades with his Keyblade or dodged them with a jump.
The attacks were still sloppy and uncoordinated, unlike Xaladin's, who fought with multiple spears at once. On top of that, the guy didn't have the power of the wind. But he did have stamina and energy, and the young Keyblade fighter wasn't quite up to par, like in his fight with the Nobody from Organization XIII. One stab narrowly missed his stomach, and he had to deflect another with his weapon to avoid it hitting his neck.
"Come on, neither of you is bleeding at all!" yelled one disgruntled spectator.
"Right, speed. I still have a drug shipment to deliver. I want to see at least one more mutilation!" yelled another.
The skull-mask demon was frankly frustrated; he'd killed more people with less effort. And this little house cat just dodged like it was nothing. Suddenly, he saw an opportunity, stepped onto the lion cub's tail, and the cub yelped. He grinned murderously as his opponent finally dropped his guard and he could stabbed. Sora blocked two arms with his Keyblade but could already see the next two approaching. He had to act, but how? As long as this mask demon was standing on its tail, there was no dodging, and with his Keyblade, he was currently keeping two other arms from stabbing him. He had to do something, even if it was just a desperate attempt. Luckily, his opponent was close enough, so he raised his leg and kicked the three-eyed biker in the stomach as hard as he could.
The lion cub's paws sank deep into the skull mask demon's stomach, causing him to spit blood and gag loudly. Not only that, but he was also thrown backward slightly and landed roughly on his back. The crowd cheered and encouraged Sora, who just looked at his opponent in disbelief and then at his leg.
"I... I've never had that much power in a kick before. Although I've handled a lot of other things in my lion form, so maybe that's why," Sora thought in surprise, as he heard a loud groan from the skull-mask demon, who slowly got back to his feet.
"You... you little shit... that was luck... nothing more," said the demon, scrambling back to his feet and running towards the Keyblade fighter.
But the Lion Demon had no intention of letting it come to close combat again. He knew his powers were limited, but he could always rely on one spell. He quickly aimed his sword at the demon's skull and cast his "Fire" spell, sending a fireball flying toward the Skull Mask. The latter was so surprised that he tried to raise his four arms to protect himself. But it was too late; the fireball hit his chest and exploded. The attack wasn't that powerful, and the four-armed biker only staggered back a few steps. But for Sora, it was enough. He leaped at his opponent as hard as he could, even leaving cracks in the sidewalk. Just as the latter regained his composure, the Keyblade wielder struck with an upward slash of his weapon, striking the Skull Mask Demon's chin. Unlike by Travis, the Lion Cub had put all his strength into the attack; a loud crack was heard, and shortly after, the three-eyed opponent was thrown into the air. He flew almost higher than the buildings and slammed violently into the sidewalk across the street. The impact shook the ground slightly, leaving a small crater. The skull-masked demon lay motionless, groaning in pain as he reverted to his normal form.
Sora breathed a sigh of relief and put his weapon away again. The crowd looked across the street in disbelief before cheering again. The lion cub wasn't sure what to make of it. Surely, one could expect a place like Hell to be so merciless. And yet, he didn't like it at all. As a Keyblade fighter, he was supposed to fight Heartless who wanted to steal people's hearts. Here to survive because he was bumped into. Besides, he'd lost his abilities and spells again and had to relearn them. One advantage: this lion body has much more power than his old body.
"Respect, kid, you really beat him in the face!" someone shouted from the crowd.
"FUCK YEAH, he's got serious power. Not just muscles, even fire magic!" another shouted.
"Find another weapon, though; you won't intimidate anyone with that child's toy!" another shouted.
The lion demon didn't know what to do now. He'd practically put on a show fight he didn't even want to fight, and he was stuck in Hell on top of that. The future looked anything but bright, and there probably wasn't a He'll Gate he could just walk out of. Otherwise, he would have certainly passed it. Just as he was about to leave, he heard someone yell.
"HEY! WHICH OF YOU LITTLE ASSHOLES DID THAT TO OUR FRIEND?" the crowd heard a demon and a group shout.
Everyone turned and saw at least six skull-masked demons in biker outfits gathered around their colleague. Before Sora could say or do anything, the crowd immediately pointed at him. He looked stunned; traitors really do go to Hell. The skull demons approached him, cracking their knuckles threateningly. Sora really didn't feel like another fight like that. For this... the day was simply too much for this. He started walking, and the group followed him. Luckily, Sora was a bit faster than the biker gang, but unfortunately, he didn't know his way around here and didn't know exactly where to go. If he hit a dead end, it would be the end of him. He needed a plan, which unfortunately wasn't his strong suit. But then he saw a familiar glow near the lampposts.
Sora smiled and thought to himself, "Perfect, maybe not everything is gone after all."
He slowed down a bit and turned back to his pursuer, calling out in a mocking tone, "Hey, what's wrong with you guys? Your buddy was fast, and you're just lame snails!"
"You think you're tough, you house cat! If we catch you, we'll castrate you!" shouted the leader, and slowly began to catch up him, with the other five.
When she almost had the lion Demon, it jumped to the lamppost and hacked at it with its Keyblade, then began spinning like a mad top. The three demons were immediately pulled into Flowmotion Move and hurled around the area. They landed roughly on their faces on the asphalt, not as hard as their friend, but hard enough to briefly disorient them.
"Goodbye, and I mean it!" Sora shouted and began to stop spinning, disappearing around the next street corner with a few Flowmotion jumps.
The crowd stared in amazement, some even filming the action with their cell phones. They quickly wondered if anyone knew the new sinner, who he was, or where he came from. Sora had already covered quite a distance with his jumps and was sure he had shaken off his pursuers. The lion demon was glad he hadn't lost all of his abilities, although he had to admit that his Flowmotion ability was limited. While he could move quickly through the city, he unfortunately couldn't perform high jumps with his Flowmotion.
"Great... it's like when I traveled to Herc's World after the botched Mark of Mastery exam . Only this time I'm alone... Donald will surely be angry with me again... and Goofy will explain that I did it to save Kairi. Riku will surely say how careless I was, and... and Kairi will surely cry and blame herself," Sora thought bitterly as he pushed himself off a building facade and used a lamppost to jump further.
"But most of all... most of all, they'll all be looking for a way to find me. They'll be looking for me... hopefully... hopefully they won't find me," the lion cub thought desperately, landing on the railing where he continued surfing.
He hadn't even been here for an hour, and everything the young Keyblade fighter had seen made his stomach turn. This wasn't a place to stay, and especially not a place to live. If the others did find it here, they'd probably be stuck here just like him. The idea of his friends being stuck in a place like this, for his mistakes. No, he didn't want that; it would be too cruel.
"Even... even if that means I'll never see them again. As long as they're safe, that's enough for me," Sora thought, and jumped off the railing to hop across a street.
But at that moment, a van arrived, and all the boy could see was a hood approaching. A loud squeal of tires sounded before the Lion Demon slammed into the windshield and fell onto the street. The Keyblade fighter remained prone on the asphalt, groaned in pain. He heard the doors open and someone climb out, his vision slowly blurring.
"Fuck... Oh Satan! I... I didn't see her. She... she jumped into my car. Oh Satan!" he heard a male voice scream, panicked and frantic.
"Blitz... that's not a cat that ran in front of your car. That's a sinner," Sora heard another, also male but softer-sounding.
"Seriously... then FUCK YOU! YOU DAMAGED MY COMPANY VAN, YOU DAMN LEG-FLATTER!" the lion cub heard the first voice roar angrily and poke his arm.
"Blitz. Stop, look," he heard a female, yet gentle voice speak.
He could feel himself being turned onto his back. The Keyblade fighter groaned even louder in pain, and everything slowly went black in front of his eyes. All he could see were three red figures gathering around him.
"He's still so young... he probably just died and arrived here," the female voice said in a dejected tone.
"Now, don't get sentimental... We all have to accept that our time is up. But I won't accept some punk wrecking my van!" the first voice shouted angrily.
"I think... Let's take him with us. Even if sinners regenerate on their own, he should do so in a safe place," he heard the second, friendlier voice.
"Okay... but only so I can finish him off afterward. Come on, get to work. Luckily, this suicidal house cat isn't that big. And especially not as fat as you, Mox!" the first voice said in a tone that was both amusing and spiteful.
"I'm not fat!" the second voice shouted, more than a little offended.
Sora felt himself being picked up and taken away. He could still hear the three figures talking, but he couldn't understand anything anymore. His consciousness slowly drifted away, while the only thing going through his mind was that he was being taken away from Hell by three unknown figures. This couldn't end well, could it?
