Daisy's POV
Thursday Afternoon..
Ugh my fucking head, what the hell happened..? My eyes felt glued shut until I managed to flutter them open. Everything's so blurry but my hands gripped onto what felt like bed sheets on top of me, am I in a bed? Wait, no, the last thing I remember is sitting back down with the others after dancing with Toni. I can remember what the blonde said to me last night, it made my heart hurt, it made me sad but happy too. Friends. Have I been brainwashed for so long that I could never see what was in front of me the entire time? Fucking hell. I brought my hands up to my face and rubbed my eyes, but my vision wasn't improving. Where the hell am I? My body doesn't want to move, it feels like a ton of bricks are on my body right now. I reached under the sheets and touched my legs and moved it up to my stomach. Nothing was there. So why do I feel so heavy, what's going on? My hand made contact with bare skin on my stomach, my body shivered, and a realization hit me. I'm not fully clothed! What the fuck? What's going on! Where am I? I looked over to my left although still blurry, there was no one else occupying the bed with me. But these royal blue sheets, am I in my own bed?
It's hot, I pushed the bedsheets off of me and looked to my left, it looked like a nightstand with a picture on. I managed to reach over and grab it, one good look with whatever vision I had confirmed my answer. I'm in my bedroom, rubbing my eyes again, I told another long look at the framed photo. I smiled. It reminded me of happier times whenever everything was perfect. I sighed, gently setting it back in its forever spot. Okay, breathe, we've answered one of my questions now, what about the others? What happened? How did I get here? Where are my clothes and why do I have a big gap in my memory? A wave of nausea coursed through me, as I covered my mouth to cough a couple times. I feel awful. A strong smell entered my nose, whatever it smelled delicious, Kait must be making breakfast.. lunch.. dinner? What time is it? Where the fuck is my phone at? The door handle clicked, and the bedroom door slowly opened. "Oh, you're finally awake. Here, I'd thought you lik-" A different figure showed up in my doorway, someone way smaller than Kaitlyn. She squeaked, a blush appearing on her face. She looked behind her. "Kait! You didn't tell me that you undressed her." A groan left me, my hand quickly going to the side of my head. "Oh, fuck sorry, I didn't mean to yell."
"AJ..?" It finally registered who exactly this petite woman was in front of me as she nodded her head, still avoiding eye contact with me. Right. I'm in my bra and panties. I would say that it shouldn't matter since I've seen her topless, but she might just be timid around new people. I grabbed the covers and at least covered my lower half up. I'm trying to keep myself sitting up because if not, I feel like I am going to pass out again. April was wearing one of Kait's shirts that looked massive on her and some blue booty shorts. In her hands was some kind of dish, I'm not sure what it is but it smells amazing. Wait. When did she even get here?
"Look who is finally up, god bitch, you had me worried sick!" Kaitlyn exclaimed, speeding into the room and practically tackling me into a hug. She's not being overly dramatic; this is genuine concern. I'm so confused. What happened last night?! The raven-haired woman pulled away from the hug, sitting next to me on the bed. "I thought I was going to have to take your ass to the ER or something..."
"Kait.. What are you talking about? How did I get here? Why am I in my underwear?" April made her way closer to us, setting down the plate of food on my nightstand as I looked scared over to my best friend.
"To answer those questions, you called me to come get you. I had to carry your dumbass in from the car because you passed the fuck out. Whenever you came too, I brought you in and undressed you because you were bitching about being hot. And-" Each sentence was sounding more and more frantic, I couldn't help but feel so guilty, something I did caused my bestie to panic like this. Fuck. I'm a horrible friend.
The petite brunette sat on the bed next to Kaitlyn, trying to soothe her by rubbing her back. "Kait, chillax. Do you seriously not remember any of that?" She asked in a quieter tone as I was trying to do my hardest to recall any piece of this mystery puzzle that I am clueless about. A defeated sigh left me, I don't remember leaving the bar or calling my bestie. "Okay, what's the last thing that you remember?"
Think. What was the last thing I remember doing? Right.. "Um, I was talking and dancing with Toni, we went to sit back down and finish our drinks." Toni's affectionate nature was confusing me yesterday. Now I understand why she was acting that way. She was worried about me. Shit, sometimes I worry about myself too. I looked over to the photo again. What would you do..? God, you would be so ashamed of me, wouldn't you?
Kait scoffed, smacking me on the shoulder a couple times. "You left your drink alone? Daiz, you don't do stupid shit like that. Like ever!" Ow, fuck, stop it bitch, you are strong. Why do you have to scold me so harshly? I'm innocent here.
I don't blame her, she's really scared and worried about me, but I can't calm her nerves if I am clueless about everything. Why is she talking about leaving my drink alone? I didn't do that. "No, at least three of the girls were always sitting at the table. Our drinks were never left unattended. Why?"
Kait's facial expression changed into a more neutral one, but I could tell that what I said affected her in some way. Was Kaitlyn more shocked to hear that I was safe instead of reckless? She didn't say anything at first which was starting to scare me; does she know more than what I do? Her face found its new home in her hand as a couple sighs left her. "I was hoping you wouldn't say that..."
"...What do you mean?" All of us were safe with our drinks, we are well aware of the risks of going out to public bars considering our fame. We had many eyes on us all night long, but no one thankfully approached us. Rather it be that they were too scared too or realized we wouldn't be interested, I'm glad we were left alone.
My bestie placed her hand on my covered thigh, as she remained silent almost like she was overwhelmed by her thoughts. April was the one that spoke next. "Kait strongly believes that you were roofied last night." There's no way, how is that even possible? My lips parted to speak but nothing left me as I stared wide-eyed at the petite brunette. The hand on my thigh's grip tightened, Kait's hand trembling slightly but judging by the look on her face, I can't tell if it's fear or anger. "And considering all the evidence, it's very likely to be the case."
"I.. was roofied? How?"
"... You didn't take a drink from any strangers, did you?" AJ asked.
"Of course not! I got all my own drinks except for the last one, Jade offered to get us a drink and I took her up on it." We always make sure now that's how it is now. About nine months ago, there was an incident involving one of the Heyman Hustle Girls. A young model hung around with someone that she considered a good friend, he seemed sweet on the outside, but the inside was a whole other story. Turns out this young man had fallen in love with the model, she kindly rejected him but that love never faded. Every other Saturday some of the girls would go out to a bar but the stalker always followed longing to get a chance with his Goddess. He showed up and offered her a drink, which she had no problem taking but that was her biggest mistake. The man drugged the drink, no one had a clue and no one thought twice about him helping her home. Beaten. Raped. Murdered. A young girl's life was cut tragically short because of an unhealthy obsession. She was only twenty-two. She was one of my girls, and I failed her. Alexa Bliss had been recruited by me personally, I thought she was the one that could take over after me. And in return, I brought her here and it resulted in her death.
"That's the new girl that got in your face, right?" Kaitlyn questioned, her head snapping over to look at me with the mention of Cargill. The tall, egotistical yet beautiful model that has a lot of potential to her name. She was getting along with all the other girls and even conversed with me a good bit despite the rocky start. She left an impression and I'm eager to see what she can do.
"Who were you sitting next to last night?" April asked the next question; I don't see why that's so important, but I guess if it helps me figure out what's going on then I'll answer.
"I was sitting in between Toni and Charlotte." The two blondes that almost had my attention the entire night. I looked between my bestie and her friend a couple times. It clicked inside my head. If I was roofied last night and the only ones that would have had access to my drinks would be. No.. Nonono. "Wait, are you implying that one of the girls did this to me?"
"I don't want to think that either, but I am going to get to the bottom of this." Shattered. The pain in my chest only grew with every second that passed. My mother was right all along, wasn't she? I thought the bitch had me brainwashed but she was actually protecting me. That's funny. That's really funny! Right whenever I started to understand what I thought was the truth. It was all a lie. Someone lied to me. Someone lied right to my face. Why? Time felt frozen in place while my hand clutched my chest right over my heart. This pain. It isn't physical but it hurts so much. Everything felt so heavy again, so much pressure on my chest. I can't breathe. I can't breathe. "You need to eat; AJ makes some bomb lentil frittata." Every breath was heavy and a massive struggle, but all of them were starting to become more rapid. "...Bestie?"
Kaitlyn's voice snapped me back into reality, but nothing changed. I could barely breathe and this fucking pain in my chest won't go away. "I..I don't know what to think anymore." I feel so defeated, is my spot so important that someone would want to throw my life away like that? I could have died. If it wasn't for Kait, who knows what would have happened. I'm disposable to that person. Was it the same whenever the others lost their lives? We are people. I sniffled and within that instance I could feel the tears escaping my eyes. I couldn't hold them back anymore. "Like, I started realizing that the girls were really my f-friends all along and now. I found out one of them, did this to me?!"
Fuck, this made me show weakness. Here I am crying, struggling to breathe as I tremble uncontrollably. What's happening to me! I closed my eyes, trying to regain any kind of composure over myself to no avail. I felt a pair of strong arms wrap themselves around me and pull me into her frame. Kait.. "..Come here, it's going to be okay. You're panicking and you're sad, you have to slow down your breathing." Her voice was way quieter than before and soothing, I felt her fingers running through my hair. I'm having a panic attack, wait, that's not possible. I don't.. I never feel like this. The raven-haired woman is one of the few people that would be able to successfully calm me down. She didn't really move and held tightly onto me as I cried into her shoulder. I don't know how long I cried but I heard her speak again. "Why don't you call Paul and tell him you can't come in today? The three of us can just hang out together."
That sounds so nice, but I don't want to take her time away from April. I'd totally be third wheeling, but I'll steal cuddles from Kait later. I looked over to see that the petite Latina was no longer in the room. Huh? Where did AJ go? "Fuck, I can't. I have to help Charlotte with our project."
Kait let out a sigh as she pulled me back from her shoulders, forcing me to look her directly in the eyes. Her eyes were completely glossy like the raven-haired woman was holding back her own tears. Her lips curled downward into a slight frown. I've made her sad, that's not my intention at all. "...Bestie, do you trust the Flair?"
"..I do. We had a really great time yesterday, it's the happiest I've been at that hell for a while." Charlotte has been a joy to have around the studio, and the blonde has only been there for a day. Her ideas are fresh, and her fashion skills are pretty damn good. She understands the business. She continues to remind me of someone but who? Kaitlyn really wants to make sure I trust her. Why? Wait.. "..Do you think.. Kait.."
The raven-haired woman didn't answer at first, instead her attention went to the door again. My eyes followed noticing that AJ was walking back over to us; she held a glass of water in her hand. The petite Latina spoke while setting the glass next to the plate, "We aren't sure of anything, but you really need to rest and eat. Here. Now stay and eat, try to relax for a bit. I got you a glass of water with alka seltzer and took all of your mini bottles from your purse. No booze." For once, I agree that booze is not the move right now. I feel like I could puke at any second but I'm also so hungry.
"I'd listen to her; the Latina really comes out whenever people don't listen to her." Kait leaned over and whispered in my ear as I noticed AJ gave her a side eye. I fought back a giggle, having a hunch that she was going to smack the shit out of her in a second. My bestie gave me a small kiss on the cheek, hopping off of the bed. "We have to go out for a bit, but I promise we will be back shortly. Love you bestie!"
"Love you too!" Great now I have the house to myself, and I don't feel like doing a fucking thing. Maybe I should take a day to myself and not go into the studio. I've been doing so much stuff around there besides my own shoots. I've been helping the other girls while trying to help Heyman as much as possible. I'm mentally and physically exhausted. Fuck it, I'll sit and eat this delicious meal that AJ cooked for me. She's such a sweetheart. I can't remember what my bestie said the dish is called. Taking one bite, I hummed in content, it's really good! A good mixture of salsa, ground beef, green bell peppers, tomatoes, cheese and eggs, the other ingredients I can't tell from sight or taste alone. I grabbed my phone and checked the clock to see that it was almost two in the afternoon.
For the next fifteen minutes or so, I slowly ate my lunch and made sure to drink as much of the water as I possibly could. I have never felt a hangover this bad but that's the side effect of the drug. A loud ringing echoed in the room as I groaned, what the fuck is that! I heard my phone vibrating on the bed and realized that the sound was my phone ringing. I looked at the caller id, having mixed feelings about everyone now. She isn't the one that did this to me, right? No. She's a good person but ..she's a Flair. Can I really trust her after all? Is my gut wrong about her? With a sigh, I picked up the phone and answered. "..Hey Charlotte."
"Damn girl, you slept like a log huh!" She spoke all cheery into the phone.
"Yeah, I must have drunk way too much yesterday." I lied, if there is a chance that she roofied me, I don't want her to know that we figured that out.
Flair let out a little chuckle, "I've had plenty of those nights before, I get it. Are you wanting to come down to the studio and work on our stuff today or do you need a chill day?" I like that she's not as strict as her father, I can have the choice to stay at home or go to the studio. But I don't know if I can be alone right now, and who knows how long Kait and AJ will be.
"No, I'm a little hungover but I'm fine, I'll be there in about thirty minutes."
"Okay but we can do a half day if you want. Wanna come chill at my place after?" She's wanting me to hang out at her place, why? I mean, Charlotte seems to be a really friendly person, but I don't know if I can trust her one hundred percent anymore. My gut is telling me yes, but my mind is saying no.
"We will see. I'll be there soon."
"Alright, I'll tell the others that you are coming in. See you soon!"
About forty-five minutes later..
I'm running late which normally never happens, but I spent a good ten minutes puking my guts out while sitting on the bathroom floor. Son of a bitch, I don't think I've felt this bad in a long time, not since the last time I was in danger. I can't catch a break, can I? I walked into the studio, passing by both Deonna and Alicia, giving them both a wave. I faked a smile. Neither of them did this, right? I hate that now I am reverting back to my sheltered way after having my eyes opened. Lies, they all could potentially be lying to me now. Who can I trust? The safest place I can be right now is in the office with Paulie so that's where I am going to go. I knocked on the office door a couple times as I heard his voice on the other side. I opened the door, there was something about the way that Paul looked at me that caught me off guard. What's going on? Did something happen? "Ah, good afternoon, Miss Mero, I was under the assumption that you were not coming in today. However, now that you are present, there are some things I believe need to be discussed with you." I stepped into the office, shutting the door as he cleared his throat. It was at that exact moment that I realized we were alone in the office. "Miss Mero, it's been brought to my attention by Miss Bonin and Miss Mendez that during your outing last night with the girls that your drink had been implanted with some unknown substance. Can you confirm that you were as they say 'roofied'?"
"Yes. A lot of the symptoms are adding up.." I looked over to both of the women sitting in the office with us, not really able to say much at the moment. Paul let out a sigh, nodding his head as I noticed his gaze lingering on me. "Why are-"
Kaitlyn spoke first. "I'm not going to stay quiet while there's a possibility that one of these bitches drugged you. Paul deserved to know." Did my bestie really think that I wouldn't talk to him about my situation? Honestly, I thought about not saying anything but given everything that's happened. If I hid it, the situation would only be worse. I understand that they are worried about me but I'm a big girl, I can handle myself.
But I'm not angry or anything, I know that they are only trying to help. I wonder what's going through Heyman's head right now, if anything I imagine it's similar to mine right now. Confused. Angry. Sad. He was masking his emotions well. "That's a heavy assumption that one of my clients would stoop so low as to do such an underhanded tactic, Miss Bonin. They all adore Miss Mero." Do they? The current roster of Heyman Hustle Girls might supposedly adore me with the exception of the possible culprit being Cargill. It hasn't always been that way, whenever I first took over, it rubbed a lot of the older girls the wrong way. They hated my mother and therefore I was never given a chance. I was an outcast, hated and punished for the sins of my parent. I understood their situation, I was still a child whenever they were informed of me taking over the leadership role. Women that had more experience than since I have been alive. I get it. I would be mad too.
"With all due respect Mister Heyman, it's highly unlikely that anyone else would have access to the drink with all of the girls rotating who would go dance and who would sit. The only one that would have access to the drinks would be one of the seven there." April informed him as Paul looked over to me, I could see the sweat forming on his brow. He doesn't want this to be true. I don't want it to be true.
It's basically my half-assed memory of events last night to serve as evidence. Lord knows I need someone with more memory to assist us. Which means, I need one of the girls to come in and vouch for me. "Paul, bring in someone that has more recollection of last night's events."
"As you wish Miss Mero, who do you trust the most at the moment?"
Kiera wouldn't do such a horrible thing, at least I'd hope. The negative with asking Kiera would be that she and Jade are best friends. She's going to rightfully defend her best friend. Alicia and Deonna, what about them? They were always together last night; does that mean they are working together? Then there's Charlotte, I want to trust her. I do but I've known her for a day so I can't tell if she's wearing a mask or not. A lightbulb went off in my head, there was an obvious fucking answer to who I should trust the most. "...Toni. She never left my side last night so she's the least likely to have done such a thing." Toni's innocent. She had no opportunity. Even though I know her acting is far superior, I can tell that our conversation last night came from her heart.
"Alright." He nodded his head as Kait stood up and gave me a loving hug. I'm so sorry I worried you, bestie. Heyman took the time to dial a number on his phone on his desk. "Hello please inform Miss Storm that I need to see her immediately at my office. It's urgent."
Kait gave me a smile, squeezing onto my hand. "Daisy said that she got all her drinks last night except from the one that Jade Cargill gave her, that was the final drink she had for the night. She's the one that also got in her face and threatened to knock her on her ass."
"Bestie, I think that was metaphorical if anything."
"You don't know the woman; she gave you a drink and it was spiked."
I mean she's right; I don't know jack shit about our newest recruits. I feel like I barely know anything about any of the girls. Before I could retort anything to my bestie, there were several loud knocks at the door. Damn, did she sprint over here or something? "Enter!"
The door opened as a familiar blonde popped into the room. Her hair was curled differently today, normally sporting marcel waves, she had dramatic curls, swirling upwards. This hairstyle was way more Marilyn Monroe eisque. Toni was wearing a fluffy, black robe, it was left untied in the front to show off her white and black horizontal striped bikini top. Her bottoms were waist high black shorts. "Mister Heyman, you requested my presence for an urgent matter-" She stopped speaking whenever her eyes looked at me. Toni smiled big, she closed the door and came over to me. "Hello Darling, I didn't know you were going to come in today! What a surprise!"
The shorter blonde pulled me into a big hug, practically ripping my hand out of Kait's. She giggled, giving me a small peck on the cheek. Goodness, I am not ready for your energy today, Storm. You better not have gotten your lipstick on me. I looked back over to Kait, who didn't seem all too happy about Toni's interaction with me. "I'll summarize the situation at hand, Miss Storm, with your outing last night, it appears that Miss Mero's drink was spiked-"
Toni let out a gasp, as a hand went over her chest. She turned to me. "Oh, bloody hell, beautiful, why didn't you say anything!" Because I didn't fucking know until I woke up like an hour ago, would things be different if I was able to pick up on it back at the bar? It's undetectable. The Australian woman angrily stomped the ground, reaching down to take off one of her heels. "I would have beaten the bastard within an inch of their life!" You know what, after last night, I wouldn't doubt it. I've heard some tales from Alicia about how crazy the blonde can get in fights. The sound of Heyman clearing his throat caused Toni to cease what she was doing. She wrapped her arms around my arm almost in a protective nature, she exhaled a sigh to calm herself. "..My apologies, Mister Heyman, ahem, I let my emotions get the better of me."
Emotions have taken over quite a few of us today so it's understandable. It makes me.. happy. Hearing such a reaction from her, she's my friend. Finally, I can see that now but the others. I can't trust them. Not until I can confirm their innocence. Heyman looked at her sympathetically and gave her a nod of the head. "Quite alright Miss Storm, I understand that the anger is justified, we are all upset and angry here. Now Miss Mendez here says that Jade Cargill gave a drink to Miss Mero, can you confirm?"
Toni looked past Kait and I to look at April, who really didn't have a reaction to the blonde's stare. Storm looked back to me with a smile. "I can. Miss Cargill was a doll and offered us all a drink as a thank you for inviting her and her little spitfire out for the night. Daisy took her up on that offer but no one else did." Good, that matches up with what I remember.
Kait turned to Storm, looking directly past me, I felt her hand squeeze back onto mine gently. "Toni, did she dictate what glass my bestie took?"
"...As a matter of fact, my dear Kaitlyn, I recall Jade telling her that she took a small sip out of the other glass so yes. Yes, she had control of what glass Daisy dear took." Yeah, I remember her saying that she already drank out of the other glass too. It had a little smudge of lipstick on it. Her grip tightened around my forearm; her brow lowered as she once again looked past me to Kait. "...Are you saying that tramp was the one that poisoned Daisy? I'll bloody kill her!"
"Get in line, sister, she's mine first." Oh, dear sweet Jesus, I know for a fact that it will be on sight if the raven-haired woman ever got the privilege of meeting Jade herself. Let's try to avoid that until we can figure this shit out. "That's my bestie, and I'll be damned if some cheap ass skank is going to waltz in here and think she can get away with drugging her."
"So, Miss Cargill is looking like our prime suspect in the matter, is there anyone else that we should look into?" Paul questioned as he was writing down something onto his notebook. My guess is that he is writing down the important key notes of this conversation. Do I really want to suspect anyone else? Hell, I don't even want to suspect Jade, but all the evidence really points to her.
"..Charlotte Flair."
"Wait, Bestie-"
There was something about her eyes that was telling me a different story, it was almost like she's conflicted too whenever it comes to Charlotte. "She's a Flair, you told me horror stories about Ric drugging women amongst other horrid things. I know you want to trust her but… I just can't."
"The only one that I can prove to be innocent right now is Toni, I want to trust everyone but if Kait hadn't shown up, I might not be here right now." Two times within a year that I could have died to something ridiculous and both the result of the viscous nature that lies dormant within people. I felt a hand softly glide up and down my left arm, Toni was silently reassuring me that everything was going to be okay. "However Charlotte's story might help us, she was with me after the others left so she might be able to fill in more blanks since I can't remember events after dancing the last time."
"I'll pull her into my office and talk to her privately here shortly." Paul informed us as he fixed his tie, while standing from his desk. He looked back over to us. "Ladies, I'd like to talk to Miss Mero in private, and thank you two ladies for bringing this situation to my attention. Miss Storm thank you as well for your assistance." Toni nodded her head, giving me one last smile before she started making her way over to the door. AJ was close behind her, but Kait remained by my side for a couple seconds longer until hesitantly released my hand. I can tell that the raven-haired woman doesn't want to do it. The only thing I can do is give her a quick hug and to reassure her that everything is going to be okay now. God, I love you so much bestie. I wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for you. I'll have to remind her of that later and every day going forward for that matter.
"Is there something that you need help with?"
Paul approached as all three girls had walked out the door, he slowly closed the door behind them. The older man didn't answer me straight away, instead he stepped closer and immediately pulled me into a tight embrace. What...? "Daisy, sweetie, I'm so relieved. Whenever your friends came in and told me, I was so scared for you." His voice was cracking, the emotions that Paul was trying to keep contained earlier were finally freeing themselves. The only time Heyman ever worries to me by my first name in the workplace is when a serious situation has gone down. His hand moved to my shoulders as I looked at him, trying not to lose my composure myself. Damn it, Paulie. I don't like seeing you sad either. "Perhaps it's dumb for me to ask you this but are you okay?"
"I feel like shit, both mentally and physically."
"Once I talk to Miss Flair, we are leaving, and I am taking you to the emergency room." Wait, that isn't necessary, I'll be fine. I appreciate his concern as well, he is one of the few people that truly care about me and my wellbeing. I'd be so lost without him too. I opened my mouth to speak but the older man spoke first. "Do not protest young lady, I have to make sure that there is nothing more at play. You know I simply adore you; I love you like you are my own daughter. No, you are my daughter, you are such a great big sister. I feel like this event is possibly my fault and.." My heart is breaking so much right now, I could feel the tears slowly trickling down my cheeks as I watched the grown man in front of me trying to hold back his tears.
"Paul, please don't blame yourself. It's not your fault." No. No. I would never want you to blame yourself because you hired Jade. There is a small chance that she isn't even the culprit but even if she is, you wouldn't have known. You couldn't have known. It was my turn to hug onto someone that has been pretty much my father for many years now. "I love you too, don't forget that."
We took a minute to regain our composure as Paul managed to give me another smile. I wiped my eyes again, shit, this day has been such a roller coaster for my emotions. "Of course, please go rest, I'll be done shortly and then we can leave." I really don't want to go to a hospital but it's for the best, I guess. It'd ease everyone. There is nothing really left for me to say and while I wait, I'm going outside to get some fresh air. I turned around and opened the door, but Heyman spoke again. "And Daisy," He started as I took a glance back to him. "You have really good friends, remember that."
Friends. I have really good friends, Kait and Toni are both my friends; April is my friend too even if I barely know anything about her. She's been such a doll today. The second I shut the door to his office, I felt another wave of nausea again. I feel like I'm going to be sick again, this shit sucks. The hallways were extremely quiet as I steadily made my way down the hallway. That was until I heard a voice, a very familiar one. " ..Are you Jade Cargill?"
That's Kaitlyn, son of a bitch, she hasn't left the studio yet. No, why would she? My bestie has a mission in mind, and it seems that she's in pursuit right now. Let's hope that it isn't Cargill because I don't know if I have the strength to fight at this exact moment. "That's my name, don't wear it out. Who's asking?" Oh god, my bestie didn't answer instead I heard a loud thumping sound. Please don't tell me she punched her. "How dare-"
"Woah- what the hell?! Get your hands off of my best friend!" Oh no, that's the voice of Kiera and it confirms my suspicions that my bestie is letting her emotions get the better of her. I turned the corner to see that Kiera was currently shoving Kaitlyn away, causing her tight grip on Jade to be released.
None of them have noticed me yet but before I shout from this to stop, April gave the blue haired woman a hard shove, causing Hogan to fall on her butt. That's some deceptive strength coming from someone so tiny. "Back up shortie, this bitch deserves what's coming to her."
"Bitch, you think you're tough shit, try that again. I dare you." The blue haired model stood back up, closing the distance between her and the petite Latina.
"Kait, AJ, come on, stop..." I spoke, but no one heard me. I'm falling on deaf ears but if I speak anymore, I think I'm going to puke.
"You have three seconds to let go and walk away, bitch, before your ass ends up in the hospital."
"Try me. It won't go like you think."
Oh my god, I get that the situation is really dicey right now, but this is not needed, especially at my workplace. Do I call out to my co-workers, or do I call out to my friends? Which one would actually listen to me? Whatever. I need to stop this before it gets to the point of no return. "Jesus Christ, Kaitlyn! April! Stop it!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, covering my mouth to cough as all four women stopped what they were doing to look over to me.
Hogan was the first to obey my words even though they weren't directed toward her. She held hands up in surrender, taking a couple steps away from AJ. Kait had a hold of the collar of Jade's top as Cargill had a grip on my bestie's wrists. "But.."
"Let her go. Now." I don't like raising my voice at my friends or any of the girls, but sometimes a little base in your voice can do wonders. Kait looked over at me, her angry scowl started to disappear. She huffed, releasing Cargill, who scowled over to me, releasing my bestie's wrist. "Back up. Both of you." My bestie did what I wanted, her and AJ started making their way over to me. The silver haired model remained still in her place, her arms folding over her chest. I wonder what she's pissed about, my bestie about to beat her ass or the fact I'm ordering them around.
"...Daisy, can you tell us what the fuck is going on?!" Kiera exclaimed. Right, I didn't hear them mention anything about their reasoning for confronting them.
I guess I'll enlighten them. "Jade here spiked Daisy's drink last night." Never mind the brunette Latina beside me cut straight to the chase. Why couldn't we have started the beginning of the story and gone from there?
This angered the tallest woman further; she approached the three of us. I mean if she wasn't our prime suspect, I wouldn't blame her but right now, I can't trust her. She closed the distance between us and her, she tried to get into April's face, but I stepped in front of her. Jade's not hurting anyone on my watch, and I don't think she's dumb enough to try with me either. "Wait, I need you to find a step stool because I don't think I heard you correctly, shortie. What I heard was a false accusation?"
April wanted to maneuver by me to get a hold of the taller woman, but Kait managed to pull her back. Note to self, don't call AJ short. I don't need to be mauled by an angry Latina. Jade smirked but remained silent, I can hear AJ cursing in Spanish behind me. It's sad that I know all the words she's muttering right now. Kiera was the one to say something, her eyes big and filled with concern. "...Wait, Daisy, is what she is saying true about your drink?" A nod of my head was all the confirmation that she needed. The one's reaction that I was curious about was Cargill, was she going to pretend to be surprised? No. She arched her brow but other than that, her expression was still one filled with anger. "Holy shit, are you okay?"
"I'll be fine, but I want to know why Jade did it."
That smirk didn't disappear, she managed to step a little closer, once again inches away from my face. This is the second time within twenty-fours that we are in a situation like this. Kait wanted to step forward, but I looked back and shook my head no. "You have no evidence to prove anything, Mero."
It's true, all the evidence we have is circumstantial, but I have to go with what my gut is telling me. It's not Alicia or Deonna, I refuse to believe an older Heyman Hustle Girl would do such a thing. Kiera marched forward, pressing a hand on Jade's stomach and the silver haired woman took a couple steps back. "Woah woah, my best friend didn't do that. There's no way!" Kiera now was the one in front of me, showing that fire that I sensed from her. Even with the height difference, she's not backing down from me. The blue haired woman's eyes widened, her brow lowered, she pointed over to Cargill. "She's not that kind of person!"
This is upsetting her and naturally so, I don't want to do this. I really don't want to put anyone in this situation.. I don't want to believe that Kiera's a bad person either. I want to believe she isn't in cahoots with Jade. However, they are besties and I have to take that into account. "Kiera, I want to believe what you say but I am looking at facts in the situation. I got up and got all my drinks myself except for my final drink, which was the one that was spiked. I got from you, Cargill."
"I get that you are confused and trying to lash out at someone for your own recklessness, but I didn't spike your drink. You should probably look at your own girls or Flair. I'll repeat myself again just in case the plastic is messing with your brain." Plastic?! Last time I looked in the mirror, which was pretty recently, I wasn't the woman that is supposed to be my 'mother'. Silly girl has me mistaken for the wrong 'Mero.' The silver haired woman's smirk disappeared as she placed a finger against my chest, poking it hard. "I. Didn't. Do! It!" Each word was emphasized louder and louder and she poked me harder and harder after everyone as well. The nerve of this bitch..
"Plastic?! Did you just-"
Kait started to shout but I cut her off. "Not worth it, let's go." There's no reason to continue this conversation further, neither one of them are going to admit if our culprit is the one in my face right now. I exhaled a sigh, stepping back from Cargill as Kait and AJ walked in front of me toward the door. Behind me I heard a small chuckle and I felt a hand pat against my ass twice. I snapped my head back around to look at her. God if I don't leave my temper is going to get the best of me. "You- ..I'm going to find out the truth, Jade, you had your chance to come clean." She scoffed and decided to walk away from this confrontation. Kiera and I shared a look, I can tell that I really upset her. She has a right to be mad at me. Hogan shook her head and followed behind her best friend. I'm sorry Kiera. "I'll be home in a bit and no, I'm not going to be working, promise." I told them as we made it outside, it's not too hot or too cold, it feels pretty refreshing. The pair looked at me and then to each other, the raven-haired woman stepped forward giving me a hug and April joined the hug too. This felt weird to me, having more than one friend. It's nice, I want more of this. I'll be joining them at home soon but first, I need to go to the hospital and make sure I'm fine.
Becky's POV
Two days later.. Saturday Afternoon..
"BayBay, I swear I'm trying to help! You've been really stressed with teaching lately and alcohol isn't always the answer!" Says the alcoholic..who are we kidding, all of us are alcoholics. Here is the daily attempt of Cedes trying to work her 'rizz magic', as she calls it, on her roommate. I wonder what she's going to come up with this time. I'm waiting for Bayley to finish getting ready so that we can go to our workout for the day. Originally it was going back to our gym spot but plans changed and I am definitely making sure to tag along for this. "Come on, a nuru massage is really great at relieving tension!" A what, massage?
"I am afraid to google what that even is." The brunette deadpanned, walking out of her bedroom as Cedes followed behind her. There were a few things that I noticed about the brunette's appearance, mainly the fact that she put on a little more makeup than usual. It looks really pretty. I know why she did that. Why go through the trouble? It's going to get ruined once you start sweating.
"It's nothing bad baby, I swear, just me and some oil." Mercedes said innocently, holding up a bottle of grapeseed oil. Yeah, I don't buy that one bit and neither did Bayley. The brunette her brow over at the purple haired woman, who continued to smile innocently.
Curiosity was getting the better of me as I pulled out my phone and searched up what a nuru massage was. I read over the description and had to resist the urge to bang my head against the nearest wall. I chuckled and looked over to Cedes. Teasingly I spoke, "So if I google this for Bayley, it's not going to have anything to do with you being naked lathered in oil, will it?" The purple haired woman made an 'o' shape with her mouth as Bayley turned to look at her. Without hesitation, Cedes made a dash to her room before the brunette could remark back. "God damn, I give her an A+ for effort."
"Me too, hey bestie, I love you, never change!" Bayley laughed, making her way over to me.
"Never. That ass will one day be mine! I love you both too!" She shouted from the safety of her bedroom before emerging out to join us again. "Are you ladies going to be back in time for dinner?"
"Most likely yeah, I don't see us taking more than a few hours."
"I'll cook us dinner tonight, but you ladies have fun working out." I hope she makes those California chicken wraps again because those are fantastic.
I walked over to the front door and opened it. Bayley grabbed her purse and followed behind closely. "We will, love you!" Despite her being a constant pain in our asses, most of the time, she really means well. We love her to pieces, none of us would be the same without her.
I closed the door as we both started making our way down the apartment building's stairs. "Hey Bay, how did you manage to make sure Cedes didn't tag along with us?" That's one mystery I had been curious about, Mercedes is off work today and she'd NEVER miss an opportunity with a hottie. "I mean Celeste is pretty damn hot and Mercedes would lose her shit." Drooling puddles on the floor or trying to motorboat her tits, probably both, I'd be surprised otherwise.
"That's why she doesn't know." The brunette gave me a mischievous grin.
"You sly girl, you've learned." I couldn't help but give the younger woman a high-five as we chuckled about our dirty little secret. Since I have until eight before I really have to get ready for work, I'm so happy that I have been able to spend time with most of my friends today. Charlotte's been busy but finals are around the corner, and she's thrilled to be able to relax. Pulling my keys out of my pocket I spoke again, "I'll drive us, now you confirmed everything with her, right? The address, the date, the time, you know the whole works."
"Yeah, we've been texting on and off all day today about it. It's all set, I'm happy she was able to find time in her busy schedule for me." It was really sudden that Celeste scheduled her so soon, but I have a hunch that the raven-haired woman is interested in Bay in more ways than one. Then again, she was also flirting with me too, but her demeanor was different between the two of us.
"Hmm, I bet you're glad, you were drooling earlier while looking over her website." I teased, nudging her as I swiftly made my way over to the driver side to avoid any incoming attacks.
"I-I was not! You were staring at the pictures too." Boy, she really does make it easy to tease her. Her cheeks were beginning to turn red from embarrassment. What a cutie. Whenever I got here, she told me that plans had changed from going to the gym to going to meet Celeste.
"Aye because I can at least admit she's hot and I like staring at her titties." Who doesn't love to stare at a nice pair of tits?
"I.. Shut up.. She's gorgeous! And she was flirting with us, right, or.." I couldn't help but chuckle a little at Bayley's flustered pout, I opened the driver side door and climbed in. BayBay got in on the passenger side.
"I'm certain there was flirting going on. Put the address in the GPS, let's go meet up with your future wife."
"Rebecca!" The brunette shouted, slapping my right shoulder a few times as all I could do was laugh. She makes this so easy. I sensed a vibe between the two of them whenever we were at the gym so who knows.
"You're so cute, whenever you are flustered. I'll behave once we get there, promise." Darn, I should have crossed my fingers where she wouldn't have been able to see them.
"If you don't, Mercedes is going to live with you whenever you get your own apartment."
"Geez, it's not that serious, don't put that on me! You are the only one that can tame that beast!" I would have honestly preferred that you'd kick my ass, slash my car tires or literally anything else. I really wouldn't be able to live that sex positive lunatic. Love her but I like having my space. You know that one friend that you love dearly but would never ever want to live with. Yeah, that's Mercedes. I don't need to hear sex every night either.
"You better learn how if you don't straighten up. There's no manual that can save you either." Bayley smirked, ignoring my flabbergasted gaze on her. "Also does my a-" She started to ask but I know exactly where that train of thought is going, and the answer is yes. Oh god yes.
"Yes, your arse looks phenomenal in those shorts, you'll have everyone looking at that cake, me included."
"Thanks bestie, don't drool too much." She snickered playfully.
"No promises." I laughed playfully, putting the car in reverse and pulling out of my parking spot. If that wasn't one of my best friends, I would have pounced on that a long time ago. What..? Bayley's a catch, she has a heart of gold, and the brunette is great with kids. Bay knows how to cook and all around is a total package. Whoever she ends up marrying, is a pretty lucky man or woman. I have no idea where the GPS is taking us but wherever the location is, it's about twenty minutes away from Bay's apartment. Despite living in Vegas all of my life, I still get lost in this massive city. Siri was telling us that we had arrived at our destination which didn't really make sense to me. I don't see a gym. Did we put the address in wrong? We were in front of a gate that was wide open and the house at the end of the driveway looked to be a two-story contemporary style house. "Wait, is this the place?" I asked my GPS operator, who nodded her head yes in response. "There's no way!"
Double checked and triple checked, the address matches up with the one that Celeste has given her. I pulled into the driveway, looking at the house in front of me. The driveway was made of brick and considerably wide, maybe enough to fit two or three cars in width. Said driveway was lined up with pink azalea bushes. The yard had numerous palm trees despite not being native to Las Vegas, they are extremely common here especially within the city. "Oh my god, she's fucking loaded! OMG a brick driveway, what, that house has to have at least four bedrooms!" Bayley's right, the house looked divided up in two main sections, the one on the left looked to have a full garage downstairs with seemingly multiple cars inside. Damn, she is loaded. The house is painted an off-white color with a black slabbed rooftop. Most of the windows were 4x4 or 4x2 panels with a black trim.
"I guess we park right here." I said, pulling into the small section off the driveway, it was right next to the garage. "Dude, this house had to be like a couple mil.." I mumbled, climbing out of the car as Bayley did the same. We were both mesmerized by the house, the only massive place we have seen is Charlotte's estate.
Slowly we made our way down the driveway and to the front door, "Fuck! I know. Oh my god, my hands are shaking, let me get the doorbell." It's cute that Bayley is so nervous about this workout with Celeste, but I guess adding onto the fact that she looks rich as hell, the brunette is probably screaming on the inside.
BayBay reached over and pressed the doorbell. One of the dark gray double doors opened about twenty seconds later. Celeste stood in front of us wearing a black tank top that had been modified to stop about halfway down her stomach. On the top was a pink version of her logo and her bottom were really tight black leggings. She smiled widely, gesturing inside the house. "Hey ladies! So glad you made it, come on in!"
"Kaitlyn, your house is gorgeous!" Yeah, that's all I could really say at the moment, I am lowkey jealous.
"Thank you for fitting me into your busy schedule, Celeste." Bayley followed the raven-haired woman inside first as I walked in after her, shutting the door behind us.
"Thank you, Becky, I can't take all the credit though! I had someone chicken out and thought how I'd love to have a couple of pretty ladies join me for a workout." She giggled, giving us a small wink. Well, it's definitely really fortunate for us that someone canceled their appointment. "The gym is upstairs, I converted the entire upstairs into a home gym, it saves a lot of money." The entire second story is a fucking gym?! Wow.
"Kait! Who was at the door?!" A voice shouted out from what sounded like the other side of the house which caused both of us to jump slightly. I didn't realize that Kaitlyn didn't live here alone but then again, how would I know? The voice belonged to another female and almost sounded familiar to me but it's hard to decipher who it could be. The raven-haired woman didn't answer the nosey roommate, instead she snickered, shaking her head. "Did you fucking order Uber Eats without me again?!"
"No but I do have a couple snacks here with me! I might be willing to share if you're nice!" Celeste yelled, which almost got me to blush, that was smooth as hell. She bit onto her finger, giving both of us a cheeky little wink. Good lord, I don't know how to react right now. The brunette beside me giggled nervously, I'm really debating on taking her up on that offer. I think I know what she's after, but I do truly believe that Bayley is already smitten with the personal trainer. If something is there, I don't want to get in the way of that. "Sorry, that's my roommate, she's a pain in my ass. Ignore her. She won't be joining us today."
That got a chuckle out of me, we all have that pain in the ass friend. So, I am guessing that her roommate is either a client or a business partner, not that it really matters to me. There was a little scoff in the distance from Kaitlyn's little remark, but the sound of footsteps was growing louder and louder. "You really couldn't wait until I was out of the hot tub to order.." Someone walked around the corner and it was at that second that my heart officially stopped. The woman halted, seeing both of us in front of her. "… food." The second our eyes met each other, my heart thumped back to life in my chest. What are the odds?
She smiled, pulling her hair out of the ponytail she had it in. I'm mesmerized again and I don't know if I'll be able to hide myself from looking at her. There stood Daisy, a woman that managed to captivate me from first glance, with a towel wrapped around her hips. Her body was still wet from the hot tub, as stray droplets of water flowed down her stomach. The only article of clothing I could see was her bikini top which was cheetah print. Fucking hell.. I thought I was struggling in the bar or over the phone, but this is a whole other level. My cheeks are heating up, this woman has me so aroused, and she has only been here for a few seconds. My mind thought back to our first phone conversation about us having sex again. Oh god, I do want that, but I can't with BayBay here. She'd find out I've met her before and that I did sleep with someone that night. Speaking of the brunette, she's staring at the brunette as well, her mouth open in shock. "Bayley.. Pick your jaw up off the floor." I whispered and nudged her, causing her to look over to me. Shit. I'm not much better off.
Daisy looked over at us and smiled again, she looked over to Kaitlyn, who was smirking herself. What's she grinning at? "Um, I didn't realize you had clients coming over." It's a good thing the brunette is able to speak for us because I'm not sure I can speak English right now. Good, she's also playing it off that she has never met me before. I really don't want to tarnish her reputation but at the same time, I want her so bad right now. Calm down Rebecca, you two have a date happening hopefully soon, which is going to end either in her bed or a hotel bed. Either way, I'll be in bed with the stunning model herself.
"I mentioned it this morning, stupid." Daisy rolled her eyes, resting a hand against her hip. The raven-haired woman gestured over to us. "But anyways, this is Becky and Bayley." Once again, the brunette looked over to us, but I felt like her eyes were fixated more on me. I don't know what to say or what to do.
"Holy shit! You're Daisy Mero!" It was one of my besties that excitedly spoke again. Thank you Captain Obvious, I had no idea that's who I was looking at. She's not going to admit it out loud, but Mercedes has been rubbing off on her for years. She drools over those magazines too which reminds me, I need to start paying attention to those now. "Becks.." Bayley called out my name, shaking me slightly.
"Oh yeah Bay.. I believe that's really her." That's all I managed to say, continuing to stare at the model myself.
The brunette clicked her lips together, unsure how to really react at the exact moment. Well at least Bayley didn't accuse her of being an imposter like I did. Geez, I'm such a moron. She walked toward us while I was hypnotized by the way that her hips swayed. "Yes, I am Daisy Mero and it's a pleasure to meet you both, Becky and Bayley."
"Ha! Take that Cedes.." Lord, now we definitely can't let Raya and Cedes know that we managed to meet Daisy Mero and that Bayley's visiting a sexy personal trainer. The brunette extended her hand over to the brunette beside me first, but her eyes glanced over to me again. My heart's racing, she's making my body go crazy. Bayley giggled, shaking Daisy's hand. "Wow, you are even prettier in person. It's nice to meet you, Miss Mero."
Something felt wrong with me whenever she said that.. I didn't like it. She was only giving her a compliment; that's not a crime. "Calm down Romeo, you're starting to sound like Mercedes." I heard Bayley gasp beside me as she playfully smacked me on the shoulder as the model blinked a few times. Breathe and speak to her, don't leave her hanging. "Nice to meet you too, Daisy." I grabbed onto her hand, smiling big while we shook hands. Her touch is so warm and comforting, she gave me a little squeeze before releasing her grip.
Celeste walked over to the taller brunette's side, slinging an arm around her shoulder. Daisy arched her brow as the raven-haired woman pointed to her. "If you want to see firsthand results of what my program can achieve, you are looking at her. Thanks bestie, coming in clutch with showing off the goods."
Well damn, I might need to sign up for her program too, I've seen all the goods unwrapped. A fucking masterpiece is what that woman is. Shit.. Heh, I'm lusting over her way too damn much, but I can't help myself. She's got this hold on me from only one night. "I didn't know you had people here, stupid, but yeah, some of this is thanks to Kait." Daisy gestured to her toned stomach. "She's trying to take all the credit." The brunette pretended to stage whisper over to us.
"Bitch." Kait said with a laugh as she playfully smacked Mero on the chest, the brunette laughed too. The personal trainer walked over in front of BayBay. "Say Bayley, why don't we go upstairs, and I'll run you through our workout for today?"
"Um okay." Daisy smiled over to me again, she's not wearing any makeup so I'm able to see all of her freckles. I don't know why she's told to hide them. "Becks?"
"Uh.. what?" I turned to look at Bayley, who was already in the foyer along with Celeste. Son of a bitch, I spaced out staring at her again. I'm so bad at being subtle.
Kaitlyn smirked, her back turned to the shorter brunette. Her gaze shifted between Daisy and I, that's whenever the realization hit me that she knows. They are best friends so it's not surprising that Daisy might have discussed what happened between us. "Becky, you are more than welcome to join us but if you want to stay downstairs that's cool too. Make yourself at home and please don't get in Daisy's way." Yeah, that comment alone settles it, I'm liking her a lot more now. Did she flirt with me in hopes of luring me to their house? Why let a stranger roam around your house unless there is an ulterior motive behind it? "It's cool if she stays down here, right bestie?"
"Uh yeah, that's fine with me." The brunette shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. I wonder what's going through her mind right now. Is she nervous and aroused like I am?
"She'll behave, Miss Mero! Right Becks?" With the threat of having Cedes move in with me, you're damn right I am going to behave myself. But more importantly, I'm definitely going to behave around the model until she tells me not too.
"Yes, of course I will. Have fun BayBay!" Satisfied with the answer I have given; Kaitlyn crooked a finger for Bayley to follow her. They turned left from the foyer, disappearing from our sight. If Daisy wasn't standing mere feet away from me right now, I definitely would have joined them. There is so much ass between the two of them, like holy shit, I'd have quite the view. I looked over to Daisy, who surprisingly had her eyes glued to where they walked off too. Oh, I can see that Bayley has someone else glancing at that cake of hers. "...Yeah, I stare at that ass all the time." I mumbled which got the model to look back at me. Come on, talk to her, hold some sort of conversation. We are all alone now and the only other time that happened well I'll never complain about what happened there. "Umm.. this is really unexpected, how have you been?" Rebecca, seriously, can you not make yourself sound like a moron for five seconds?
Daisy smiled, running a hand through her long, beautiful, brown hair. "Been a rough few days but I'm thinking my weekend managed to get a lot better now that you're here." We don't text every day since I know she's super busy doing modeling work. I didn't know what caused the last few days to be so rough and I'm not going to pry. But hearing her say that her weekend is better because of me, it caused my cheeks to become flushed. Butterflies fluttered about in my stomach as the brunette continued to give me such a warm smile. What does she mean by that? Am I overthinking things? "Would you like a tour of the house?"
"What a kind hostess you are, I'd love one." Daisy chuckled, reaching over to grab a hold of my hand. Her touch is still so warm, it feels so nice. Something about holding her hand feels so comforting and fits so perfectly in mine. Perhaps I am going to say a lot like Cedes right now, but I don't give a fuck. I really hope this tour ends up in the bedroom because I don't know if I will be able to control myself if she doesn't put actual clothes on. Give me strength.
