Daisy's POV
Sunday Afternoon..
After the very pleasant surprise that happened yesterday thanks to my sneaky bitch of a bestie, I do feel like my mood has been getting better. I needed a little bit of fire to light up the dim situation that's going on. My body has finally gotten rid of those stupid side effects of that pill, and I will be able to return to work tomorrow. Thankfully Charlotte and I were able to make a lot of progress on Thursday before someone decided to make an attempt on my life. No one has confessed to the heinous action but now, I have two women that I can trust. Friends.. It seems funny to be able to use that in the plural sense for the first time in my life. Kait, Rebecca, Toni now even AJ and Charlotte, they have my back. I've been so oblivious to the obvious for so long but whenever I started to see the light, someone severed that trust immediately. Four names have yet to be cleared, two of them being our newest additions to the HHG brand. Jade Cargill and Kiera Hogan… I like Kiera, she's cute and spunky. Jade on the other hand, is egotistical and self-centered. They both have the 'it factor' to go far with their modeling career but I don't know a damn thing about them. Are they really responsible for drugging my drink or is it really Alicia or Deonna? I hate this. I hope to find the answer soon.
I woke up way earlier than usual, like a little after eight and I think I actually managed to scare Kait too. She is always awake by like eight in the morning; I have yet to figure out how that woman can be such an early bird. The raven-haired woman was surprised whenever I asked to join her early workout. Whenever Kait has a session with me, it's usually after my work at the studio which is mainly afternoon or evening hours. But today, I had a big burst of energy that I didn't want to go to waste. It takes a lot to maintain the figure I've come to love and having my own personal trainer living with me makes everything much easier. After the workout, I went to get a shower. For once in what feels like forever, I didn't have to worry about my appearance or waste an hour putting my face on. I can be natural. I wasn't planning on leaving the house today so I opted to lounge around the house in a black g-string bikini while I waited for our guests. No one else is here but Kait and she has walked around in less clothing. I made my way into the kitchen, getting myself some water from the fridge. This entire weekend, my urge to drink had been next to none but I'm sure by the end of the day, I'll have some alcohol in my system. The doorbell rang. "I'll get it, it's probably Charlotte!"
My bestie peeked around the corner from her bedroom, she was wearing a dark purple g-string bikini. What a bitch, wearing my favorite color, I couldn't help but giggle. "Bestie, are you sure about having her over?" She questioned skeptically.
"Yes Kait, she made some valid points and I want to trust Becky's words too." I understand my bestie's concerns but hearing Charlotte's response and Rebecca being her best friend, there's no way she would ever. The blonde is right, why would she jeopardize her father's business or our brand? "Plus, I know that if things seem sketchy, you'll be here to protect me."
"You are lucky I love you, stupid."
"Love you too, bitch." I laughed, making a heart with my hands. The raven-haired woman made a heart as well before sticking up her middle finger. I love that bitch. We both laughed as I started making my way into the foyer to greet the Flair woman that has quickly started becoming a friend of mine. Never thought I would ever get along with a Flair in my life. I opened the door. "Hey-"
I barely got one word out whenever I opened the door and saw who was on the other side. There stood a different blonde woman that I was familiar with, Toni Storm, who gave me a big smile. Toni stood there with her hands behind her back and her purse slung over shoulders. What is she doing here? I didn't invite her over today. I have never invited any of the girls over to my house since I didn't really picture us as friends before the other day. "Oh Darling, there you are! I've been worried sick about you!" She exclaimed, quickly moving her hands into plain sight to reveal a massive bouquet of flowers. Wait.. Why? The shorter woman pressed them against my chest, I grabbed onto the bouquet with one hand and cocked my head. "These are for you, Alicia and Deonna pitched in to buy them. We each picked out a different color." Orange, pink and yellow roses are what this beautiful gift consisted of. What have I done to deserve this from the girls?
"Toni.. I uh.. Thank you." I looked down at the flowers again as I felt my cheeks getting hot. Am I blushing at this gesture? Come on Daisy.. Get a grip! Toni was wearing a swimsuit of her own which caught me off guard. Is the blonde aware of our plans today? Toni smiled. She's wearing a bikini that resembles the styles of the 1950's. The top was red and white horizontal stripes with thin white straps. In the center of the bikini top was a big, beautiful, white bow. The bottoms were navy blue in color and were high waisted and stopped above her belly button. The most unique feature of the bikini bottom were six white buttons, three on each side.
"Anytime beautiful, am I allowed inside?" The blonde model asked, flashing a beautiful and big smile. Is it weird that this is the first time I've had someone over that isn't family or a client of Kait's? Feels weird but since she's already in a swimsuit, I assume that she talked to Charlotte about our plans today. It'd be nice to have her here too.
"Yeah, come on in."
Even if she wasn't properly dressed, I am sure that I have a swimsuit that Toni would be keen on wearing. Given that we have similar builds, the both of us have borrowed clothes from each other numerous times even for shoots. I mean, I might be taller, and the blonde definitely has more in the cake department. I can't fit in Alicia's or Deonna's clothes so it's great to have someone that can bring a spare outfit in case of a wardrobe malfunction. I stepped to the side, allowing the blonde woman to enter the house, closing the door behind us. We walked out of the foyer and into the living room space. Her eyes twinkled in curiosity, looking around at everything in sight. "Ah! I've never been inside your place before, first time for everything I suppose. A woman of exquisite taste, like I imagined." She let out a small giggle, wrapping her arms around me as I turned to look at her. "You look absolutely scrumptious in that bikini by the way, and I shouldn't have expected any less." Her green eyes scanned me from head to toe, giving me a flirty little look. I fought the urge to roll my eyes. Why is she teasing me all of a sudden? I don't know.
"Thank you, your outfit is pretty hot too." I complimented her. "Have you heard from Charlotte?"
Toni nodded her head. "But of course, the young Flair should be arriving shortly. I told her that I was going to pop over and surprise you with the flowers." You know, I am surprised that the duo didn't ride over here together. I don't know how to feel about getting flowers from the girls, especially since I suspect two of them of possibly being the one to do this. It seems to always happen whenever bad things happen, like the incident in LA. "But more importantly, this is a gift from me."
The blonde reached down into her purse. My body feels so warm right now. It's not like I haven't gotten presents or flowers from people before, I've gotten them more from random admirers than friends. Clutched in her hands was a red velvet square box, wait, is that? I can feel my heart beating so fast as I watch the blonde smile widely and slowly open the box. Inside was a silver bracelet embedded with yellow orange looking gemstones that were in the shape of teardrops. "Toni.. I-" Come on words, work with me and tell her that you can't accept this gift. I've done nothing to earn such a beautiful thing and I am sure that it cost a pretty penny too. "I can't take this."
My hand pressed against the soft box as I attempted to push it back to my co-worker. I'm moved by the generous gesture, but I can't accept something that pricey. Toni grabbed my hand, lacing hers with mine and moving it away from the box. "Nonsense Darling, I saw it and simply thought of you. Amber gemstones are for assisting people who are recovering from illness or are needing a touch of comfort. These past few days have accumulated such negative energy and I want this to help banish the negative and bring in the positive. I'm not one hundred percent certain who to completely trust as of right now but with you wearing this, you can remember that everything is going to alright and that I'm here for you. Think of it as a little bubble of 'Timeless' Toni sunshine to brighten up your day." She explained, giving my hand a squeeze as I could only stare at her baffled. The blonde woman really thought this gift through and it's one from the heart and symbolizes our friendship. Mental note, treasure it always and make sure to get her something in return one day. "Here Darling, let me put it on for you."
Toni removed the bracelet from the velvet box and gently gripped onto my right wrist and positioned it straight in front of me. "Wow.. I don't know what to say. Thank you." These past few days have really opened my eyes into what kind of relationship I have with the blonde woman. Someone that I thought was a purely professional relationship and an acquaintance at most always saw us as some sort of friends. I couldn't find more words to say at the moment, so I continued to watch the blonde latch the bracelet securely onto my wrist. Wow, it's even prettier than I thought.
"What are friends for?" I noticed that Toni's attention drifted toward the kitchen area. We both looked over to see Kait looking between the both of us with a curious expression of her face. Oh, fucking hell, how long has she been standing there for? That small smirk gave me all the answers I needed to know, she's going to misread the situation, isn't she? "Hello Kaitlyn Darling! Are you looking absolutely sexy in that bikini, my word!" Toni greeted my bestie, breaking the small amount of silence among the three of us.
"Oh, you are flattering me, Toni! Come, I'll show you around a bit while we wait for our remaining guests."
"What a kind hostess you are, gorgeous!" Toni clapped her hands together excitedly making her way over toward my bestie, who alternated her gaze between Toni and I again. She gave me another smirk as I rolled my eyes at her. The duo looked to be making their way over to the stairs, Kait probably wants to boast about her gym. Let's see, do I have a vase to put these gorgeous roses into? Searching the bottom cabinets, I was able to find a glass vase as the doorbell rang again.
Alright, there shouldn't be any more surprises. That's definitely Charlotte. Setting the flowers and the vase on the counter beside the sink, I started making my way to answer the door. I opened the door to see the taller blonde woman, she had on a pair of Saint Laurent sunglasses, a light blue crop top and some jean booty shorts. "Hey Daisy."
"Hey Charlotte. Please come in-"
"Wait for me, I have little legs!" Before I could even finish my sentence, a voice shouted from behind the young Flair. Charlotte turned around and I was able to see that the female voice belonged to AJ, who was carrying multiple bags that said Del Taco on the front. Stubborn woman wanted to bring everything in one type as well as some Wal-Mart bags. "Daisy, I brought tacos!" She exclaimed, skipping down the driveway, she giggled.
The Flair woman chuckled and reached over toward a couple of the bags. "Here, lemme give you a hand with that. I'm Charlotte."
The tiny brunette was caught off guard, she handed three bags over to the taller woman. She gave a wide grin. "Thank you. I'm April or AJ." Well at least I don't have to worry about the introduction with the two of them. "Kait! I have secured the tacos!" AJ shouted into the house but didn't get an immediate response back. I presume that bestie is showing Toni out back where we will be relaxing today. Looking over at the Latina, I noticed that she still had multiple bags. I wanted to help but as soon as I made an attempt to grab one, April stopped me. "No Miss Mero, you are not carrying anything in my presence!"
I get that she's trying to be nice and all that, but I'd feel bad if she had to carry all that herself. I know Charlotte's helping. "April, stop being a dork and bring the food in!" Finally, my bestie shouts from somewhere inside, the three of us make our way back to the living room and see Kait, filling up the vase with water. "Hello Charlotte."
"Hey Kaitlyn." Bestie managed to give the taller blonde a slight smile, but I can still tell that she's still uneasy about me having her over here. I understand her concerns and respect her decision to remain skeptical. I really want to believe Rebecca's words about her best friend; she doesn't have any reason to lie to me about her. It all makes sense now. Whenever Charlotte and I were working together, I felt a sense of familiarity. There was something about her that reminded me of someone. I was feeling the same whenever I was around Becky. Normal. Despite being two rich girls, she treated me like anyone else even though I'm her client. "Where do you want me to set this?" Charlotte held up the bags.
"Right on the center counter." The blonde and the Latina sat all the bags onto the counter.
Toni peeked into one of the Del Taco bags and clapped her hands together with excitement. "How thoughtful to bring us food, Darling." She looks over to the brunette Latina.
"Oh, all I did was deliver it, Toni, Kait paid for it." AJ pointed over to my bestie, attempting to hide the slight blush on her cheeks. I see, her and Toni haven't had much time to talk so she's timid with her. At least April is more comfortable with me now because I didn't like that I made her uneasy with my presence. The petite brunette let out a sigh, playing smacking Kaitlyn in the chest. "Oh fuck, that was heavy. I also picked up a few things for the house per Kait's request since she's a lazy fuck.."
The raven-haired woman arched her brow, looking over to AJ. She didn't even flinch at the smack either. Dude, I don't get away with that shit. Kait would make my ass red for that, but AJ can beat her up and Kait takes it. "Bitch, you know it was just convenient that you were already getting the food."
AJ rolled her eyes. "Sure sure, you owe me $25 by the way."
"Your house is beautiful, you two have really made it a cozy little home." Charlotte complimented as her eyes continued to look around our home. I know it's not as flashy and luxurious, but I don't need to have a twenty-room mansion to display my wealth. I am content with our home. It's paradise compared to anywhere else I would normally be.
"Thank you, Charlotte, Kait and I love this place so much." It would be so lonely here without Kait, that's for sure. I'd have to hire a maid to keep me company or something, that would be pathetic. I chuckled, looking over to one of the pantry doors. I reached over and grabbed one of Charlotte's hands, "Oh let me show you something that I know you'd like."
The tallest blonde looked at me curiously but didn't protest me dragging her over to the door on the right. I grabbed the doorknob and pushed the door open. I saw the blonde's eyes twinkle in amazement looking at the countless cases and bottles. "Oh, hell yeah, you really do understand me." I couldn't help but giggle as Flair released herself from my grasp and wandered inside the pantry. She curiously picked up one of the bottles on the shelves, reading over the label and nodding her head in approval.
I laughed as Charlotte pointed at herself and then to the bottle. I was so wrong about the Flairs; I am not sure about the men of the family but she's hilarious. With a smile, I nodded my head as she walked out of the pantry with our beverage for the next little bit. I closed the door and walked over to the cabinet to grab some wine glasses and opened it. "Bestie.. At least eat first before you give yourself more liver damage." Kait spoke, voicing her concern. " …I need a padlock for that fucking door."
Maybe she's right but I haven't had anything to drink in a couple days now and I really really crave some alcohol. A soft hand pressed against my shoulder; the other hand rested against my hip. The cold hands almost made me shiver. I met the gentle green eyes of Toni, who gave me a concerned face as well. "Beautiful, perhaps you shouldn't be partaking in consuming alcohol until you know you are completely better."
Okay okay, they win if I drink anything at all, it will be super light like one beer or something. I turned away from the cabinet, grabbing the hand on my shoulder and giving it a reassuring squeeze. Having so many people that care about my wellbeing, makes my heart hurt in a good way but I'm happy. I suck at describing my feelings that aren't sadness and anger. "I promise Toni, I feel much better now. Thanks to all of you."
"I love you stupid, I'm still going to find out who did this and beat the living hell out of them." Despite the height difference, I still believe that Kait would have manhandled Jade if I hadn't stepped in. I know personally I wouldn't stand much of a chance. I'm not going to pretend that I am some trained fighter, I can slap hard and probably punch a bitch but that's the extent of it.
"I have a shovel in my trunk, I'll help!" The tiny Latina spoke way too enthusiastically about potentially murdering someone. Why does April have a shovel in her trunk? Should I be concerned? Kait facepalmed as Charlotte, Toni and I slowly turned to look over at AJ. She blinked a couple times, looking between the four of us. "What..?"
A laugh left me staring at April's dumbfounded face, the other ladies also laughed. Toni chuckled, lifting our hands that were still laced together. Honestly, I had forgotten that I was holding her hand. "I shall join in on the festivities of kicking the asses, however we have yet to narrow down the scandalous bitch responsible."
"Okay but give a girl a warning before you throw your shoe." She almost hit me so many times with her dastardly high heels. I released the blonde's hand as I curiously peaked into the bags of food that were causing my stomach to grumble. "Charlotte, you know where the glasses are now. Help yourself. Now let's eat, I'm starving." We spent the next few minutes getting all the plates and drinks set up. This felt really different to what I was used too, I don't think there have ever been this many people sitting at the dining room table since I've lived here. It's always been Kait and I, with the recent addition of AJ hanging out more, it's been like a mini family. Now sure, whenever I go over to Paul house or Torrie and Stacy's mom, the whole family is there but that's different. I want to be able to come home to a family of my own one day. After about twenty minutes or so, the majority of us had finished eating and Kait and April went out to get the hot tub prepared.
"I'm stuffed, that was delicious." Flair hummed in content, taking a sip of her wine glass, finishing it. "Hm, good taste with this one, Daisy. I have quite the collection at my estate as well."
"Hmm now that's how you tempt a girl over."
"Of course, regal women such as us would have the best eye for exquisite tastes. I will not settle for cheap knock offs; I prefer everything of mine to be authentic." Oh but of course, the queen of extra would say such a thing. Nah, I'm joking. I'm the same way if it can be helped. "But perhaps a girls' day at the Flair estate is going to be on the schedule here soon." Going over to Charlotte's estate would be pretty fun. All I would need to do is avoid her father because I really don't want him to be thirsty for me.
"My dad is going out of town this coming weekend so I guess we will have to see." It's like Charlotte was reading my mind with that remark. Okay, I am dead set on hanging out over at her house. There was a knock on the patio door and the three of us turned to see April twirling her finger at us. The petite Latina was out of her normal clothes and was wearing this cute little pink bikini that looked like it had a black spider web stretching throughout. "Oh, the girls are signaling to us that the hot tub is ready."
"Bring the bottle. Toni, would you like me to fetch you a glass so you can have some too?"
"Hmm, no Darling, but thank you for the kind gesture." I led the blondes out to the patio and went over to the mini fridge that was sitting by the grill. I'll grab myself some water from out here. I opened it, grinning at the beer can and held it out to Toni. The blonde cocked her head curiously over at it. "Fuck it, throw me a can, beautiful." I fucking knew it; she drinks way more than she lets on. I tossed the can over to her and closed it after obtaining my water.
Whenever the three of us walked into the Lanai, Kaitlyn and AJ had already taken their seats. Charlotte was the only one that wasn't properly dressed at the moment, so the tallest blonde started undressing, neatly placing her casual clothes folded on the loveseat. Her bikini was emerald green and royal purple in the design of messy stripes. I couldn't help but smile, recalling back to our conversation at the studio. I was the first to make my way into the hot tub, claiming my spot next to my bestie bitch. I reached my hand out to either of the blondes, Storm gave me a charming smile and grabbed onto it. She climbed in and took the spot on my right. Charlotte was the last to get in and her spot was in between Toni and AJ. My body was able to relax now and my aching muscle from this morning's workout was starting to loosen up. Kait really makes sure I feel my results, but I mean, it shows every day. As April started a conversation with Charlotte, I felt like something was missing from this group. Everything was almost perfect, but Rebecca wasn't here, she's the only person that gives a damn about me that isn't here. I'd love to invite her over but none of the other girls here know I'm a lesbian. Am I really ready to confide that to other people? The girls here wouldn't stab me in the back, right? Not yet. From being someone that didn't really socialize outside of work or with people that aren't my bestie bitch, I have made some progress. For the next however long, I was actually involved in the conversations. Even if I was clueless about the topic, I'd still speak. I'm learning how to form bonds with other people.
The sound of a phone ringing cut off the conversation as all eyes looked over to where all our phones were sitting. "That's my phone." I announced as Toni scooted over enough for me to be able to get out easier. I fought back a sigh as I climbed out of the hot tub and made my way over to the loveseat. I recognize the ringtone which means one of two things, either Paul is calling to check up on me or I am needed at the studio. Please be the former, I have never had time with friends like this. It's giving me a warm and happy feeling and it's something I am still not familiar with. I reached down to grab the phone, pressing the answer button, I spoke. "Hey Paulie, what's up?"
I noticed Toni and Charlotte's head snapped over to look in my general direction as bestie and AJ continued whatever nerdy thing they were talking about. "Ah Miss Mero, I apologize for interrupting you again, I know that you have been taking things easy the past few days. First off, I wanted to call and check up on you." Every time he calls, Heyman apologizes for interrupting me even if I am not doing anything. It's so sweet that Paul calls me every day that I am not at the studio, but it seems more frequent since what happened Thursday. Torrie and Stacy have also been calling me multiple times a day after I told them Friday afternoon while on the way to the emergency room with Heyman. Paul had to talk them down from flying out here to knock sense into any of the girls that were suspects. I'm not sure what to think anymore.
"I am feeling a lot better, so I will continue with the Legacy project tomorrow. Charlotte and I are planning some more photos for advertisement." Planning the outfits are the easiest part for the both of us, now for the makeup part, Charlotte has a couple that will be coming in for the makeup and hair. Ric's wanting a commercial as well as an internet ad and magazine article. It's tedious but it's going to be a pretty penny for me, and I've gotten a new friend out of this project.
"Excellent, however that's not the only reason why I called you, Miss Mero." He's not calling me Daisy, so someone is with him, and this has to do with work. Fucking hell. I grabbed a towel off the rack and prepared to dry myself off. "I have someone currently in my office that wishes to speak to you."
"I thought I wasn't taking anymore clients so I could focus all my attention on Flair's project."
"Yes Miss Mero, you are correct. This is not a client but someone who you urgently need to arrive at the studio for." If it's not a client, why in the hell do I need to rush to the studio? I heard a faint voice in the background, and I immediately understood. Oh.. It's going to be one of those days. "Yes. I understand. Could you please come to the studio, Miss Mero?"
"I'll be there shortly, about twenty minutes. See you soon." I heard him get out half of a farewell as I hung up the phone. My heart was thumping wildly in my chest, I can't tell if it was nerves or anger; I am too sober for this shit. Like I needed more bullshit to add on top of what I am already going through.
Fucking hell, let's get this nonsense over with. I started drying myself off as I noticed everyone's eyes were focused on me at that moment. What? Did I do something? Kait was the first to say something. "...Bestie? Is everything okay?" I didn't say anything at first, but managed to nod my head trying to confirm that everything was fine. It's not but there's not much I can do about it right now.
"Beautiful, is Heyman stealing you away from us?" Toni asked.
"Yeah, I-I need to go get ready, I'll be back shortly but first." I made my way closer to my friends in the hot tub, leaning over and grabbing Toni's can of beer that she was holding. The blonde let out a gasp as I chugged what remained of her beverage about half of the can worth.
"You know what…I noticed two reasons why this isn't bothering me." She said with a slight purr, what is Toni even on about? I have no idea. It's not like there isn't a whole case in the fridge out by the grill. I should probably take a couple with me. No... That wouldn't be smart. I don't need to get caught with that on my person. The blonde let out a chuckle as I stared at her in confusion. "Do you want me to accompany you, Darling? I can see if it is something trivial that I can assist Mister Heyman with. You need to rest."
That's sweet but she's already worked enough today. This is definitely something that I would never subject Toni too. "No, you stay here and have fun, I won't be gone long." I didn't give anyone enough time to carry the conversation further, I have less than five minutes to get dressed and out the door. If I had a choice, I would have said no with a capital fuck in front of it, but I am not letting Paul take the heat for me.
I quickly made it to my bedroom and threw on the first matching pair of undergarments I could find. It's not like I am going to wear them long, I plan to change into a bikini and relax with many drinks after this. I freed my hair from the bun I had secured it in and grabbed my hair spray. I scrunch my hair with my fingers for about a minute to emulate some curls and make it look less of a trainwreck. Makeup isn't an option, or I'll be sitting in my makeup chair for about an extra fifteen minutes. Leaving my room, I went into one of the walk-in closets. I chose a pair of skinny blue jeans that had holes at each knee. The top was a simple pastel orange top that was laced around the cleavage area. Brown opened toed heels and a long sleeve tan cardigan sweater completed the look. Not much effort was put into the outfit, but I think I look cute enough. The natural earthy tones really compliment my eyes and bring out my freckles a bit more. …I am starting to like them a bit better now. With everything else tucked away my Dooney & Bourke hazelnut satchel with the exception of my AM keys, I started making my way toward the garage until I noticed that I wasn't alone. Kaitlyn was waiting for me with her arms crossed over her chest. "You're lying about something, bestie."
I'm not surprised that she reads me like a book. But I'm not even sure the full extent of what's about to happen. My lips curled into a small smile that I managed to muster up. "Kait, I'll be fine, but I might steal you away from April tonight if things are going to go as poorly as I expect them to be."
She's well aware that something is bothering me. I can tell that while staring into her eyes but Kait's choosing to not push further. "Alright, love you bitch, call me if you need me."
"Love you too bitch."
Kaitlyn turned away from me and started heading back out toward the Lanai and the others. Everything was starting to move a little slower as I climbed into my car and started going up the driveway. You know what, I probably should have snuck some mini bottles into my satchel. Too late now. Not liking the silence, I turned on the radio and tapped my fingers on the steering wheel to the beat of the music. Even if I didn't know the song word for word, I made an honest attempt to keep myself distracted by the negative thoughts surrounding this whole ordeal. A storm is coming but I am hoping it passes me by. It's not that easy, even if it's for a split second the storm always causes some sort of damage. Parking into my spot, I exhaled a deep breath and clenched my hand into a fist as I turned off the car. You got this. Bear through it and go home. Simple. I locked up the car and made my way into the studio, I could navigate my way through this hell with my eyes closed. I spend more time here than I do in my own home sometimes. Reaching the door to Paul's office, my hand froze before I was able to knock on the door. Come on. Just speak to Paul and only talk to her whenever it's absolutely necessary. My knuckles tapped against the wooden door. "Enter!" Another deep breath left my mouth as I opened the door. "Ahh Miss Mero perfect timing-"
Paul looked genuinely happy to see me but once again, a bitch had to disrespect him and interrupt him. Typical for her though. "She looks perfectly fine to me, Paul, except she's not giving a shit about her looks at the moment. It couldn't have killed you to make yourself look more presentable." Immediately bashing my looks and I have barely managed to shut the door, it's truly a shame that I am shut in the same room as her now.
Those blue eyes stared into me, normally those color eyes are deemed beautiful but for me, it symbolizes her heart made of ice. Her hair was platinum blonde and straight to trail down past her completely fabricated bosom. Multi time Playboy covergirl or not, your looks aren't genuine. I can see that she's still rocking the black leather jumpsuits like she's guest starring in the Matrix or some shit. This isn't the nineties, and you aren't in your twenties anymore. My silent bashing came to an end as I finally addressed her. "Nice to see you too, Mother."
The wicked bitch of the West turned her attention away from Heyman and completely focused on me. What made you come see me after months of absence? Did you remember that you have children? You should have just stayed in New York. The blonde gestured over to my father figure. "Paul explained to me that someone put a roofie in your drink Thursday night and it might be one of your own girls." Great, I didn't want her to know about this because she's not going to make it better for me. "So, you are using your mistake as an excuse to slack off." Yes, I totally wanted someone to drug me and possibly kill me so I could take a couple days off from work.
Before I could open my mouth to respond to her, Paul spoke in my place. "No disrespect intended, Miss Rena but the young Miss has been working really hard with all of her projects." That's because I'm able to drink enough to numb myself and get through the day. I'm mainly doing this for him at this point. The passion for this has been long gone. My mother didn't like that my manager spoke in my stead, her eyes glared over to him. "She has been ill; I heard of her situation and illness and took action for her safety. I am the one that authorized the rest period, young Miss was more adamant about working. This little setback doesn't change that she placed fourth in Vogue's top ten models."
The blonde bitch let out a huff, slamming her hands against the surface on his desk, Paul flinched slightly to the sudden action. "I am well aware of the list and rankings. Am I supposed to be happy about that?" Uh yeah, I'm in the top five and the highest placement for Baskow. Torrie and Stacy were super happy and proud about it. Why can't you be too? "My daughter placed fourth, she's my flesh and blood and she was bested by Maryse. Maryse might be my protege but that doesn't excuse the fact that she's constantly losing to her. It's disgraceful."
Disgraceful. That's a word that I am quite familiar with whenever it comes to her. Nothing I ever do is good enough for this woman. "You know what, it is disgraceful to you, and I don't care!" I raised my voice over to the older woman. She wasn't thrilled about that in the slightest, but I am sick and tired of being compared to that blonde poodle that she wishes was her daughter instead of me. She can fucking have her! "Maryse is only in the top three because of you. I don't have anyone pulling the strings here, I don't have someone sucking up to the right people for extra shoots and gigs. I did this by myself. All of my girls made the top ten and I'm proud. I'm proud of them and I don't sit there and blue ball my girls and steal all the spotlight for myself. I'm not that kind of leader. I actually want them to flourish." I never want to be an angry person but that's what my mother brings out of me. I used to look at everything through tinted lenses, I never wanted to see things in a different way from what I was brainwashed into thinking. Simply put, I wanted my girls to do great because it also made me look great. It took me years to realize that I wouldn't be perfect at everything and the girls are simply better at me in categories. Why would I attempt to seize the opportunity if one of the other models will show better results? One day, I want one of them to take over as the leader of the Heyman Hustle Girls. I want them to be a better leader than me. I won't be doing this forever and my job right now is to make sure I have the proper successor, rather it will be next year or ten years down the line.
She exhaled a loud sigh as her hand rested against her palm and shook her head left to right. I looked over to Heyman, who was happy with what I said in response. He gave a nod of approval and a smile but that slowly changed as Rena glared back over to him. "Paul, you are too soft on her. This is why she should be in Wilhelmina with me." You already have your protege to be your so-called perfect daughter, why do you also want me too? Not all your kids need to be just like you. I refuse. My lips parted to speak but my mother spoke before I could. "Whatever I am not going to argue with you, child, all I know is that you could be doing a lot better and look a lot better too. You've put on weight since the last time I saw you."
I don't even remember the last time I saw you; it certainly wasn't Thanksgiving, and I didn't get a message on my birthday either even though I at least remembered to tell you happy birthday. She mainly relays messages to Paul. "It's muscle, mother. I have a personal trainer that I work out with."
"Please remind me of who that is because she's doing a horrible job with you."
"Excuse me? No. Don't you dare disrespect Kait like that!" You can sit here and trash talk me all day which isn't any different from our regular conversations. But she isn't going to talk shit about my best friend. I don't know if I would even be standing here today if it wasn't for Kait. My vision started to look redder as I stepped closer to her. It's taking everything in my power to refrain from punching her in her fucking face. Paul would receive the backlash for my mistakes, and he never deserves any of it. My scowl morphed into a smirk as I scanned her from head to toe. "Why don't you give me the number to your surgeon because he's done a horrible job with your face, and I want to thank him for that."
"Oh you little bitch.."
"I got it from the woman that is supposed to be my mother." Was my response deadpanned.
Heyman cleared his throat, stepping around from behind his desk. Rena and I both looked over to him as he approached cautiously. Both my mother and I are known to be a bit hotheaded. I won't deny it. Even after all these years, I've never laid my hands on this bitch even though I really REALLY want too. She deserves it for everything she's done.. and not just to me. I'm not the worst casualty of her wrath. "Ladies please, let's not continue with the unnecessary arguing. There is no reason to continue fighting, this is supposed to be a family reunion, Rena, you came here to see Daisy, did you not?"
"I wanted to see my daughter, yes, and attempt to understand the disappointment she is making me feel right now. But I suppose things haven't changed much in the past few years. I thought you taking over for the HHG was a good thing but clearly you still don't have what it takes to lead properly." Our definitions of being a leader are completely different, but you gave me the HHG to keep me sucked into a career that my passion has dimmed for. "Now Paul, I believe that you have a couple new girls that you signed recently, I saw the little blue haired abomination earlier. Who is this other girl?"
…Blue haired abomination..? Wait a second, she's talking about Kiera! Hold on just a damn minute.. "You don't even know Kiera, why do you have to look down on everyone? She's beautiful-"
"I'm not talking to you. Zip it, child." I'm one to talk, I don't know anything about Kiera either. She hasn't been cleared as a suspect about drugging my drink either, but she didn't seem like the type of person too.. Fuck.. She seems so friendly and she's beautiful. Rena has no right to talk down to people she doesn't know.
Heyman readjusted his tie as I noticed the sweat starting to gather on his brow. "...I see, you have already seen Miss Hogan. Miss Hogan and Miss Cargill are two girls from Stokely Hathaway's crew and are known as part of 'the Baddies'. Would you like me to summon her here? I believe Miss Cargill is currently getting her outfit ready for her first shoot with us." Fucking hell, I don't know if I will be able to deal with Cargill right now. I thought I was supposed to be with her whenever she did her first shoot. Oh well..
"I want this Cargill person here as soon as possible. Hopefully she won't make me wait over twenty minutes like someone else I know." Of fucking course, her blue eyes darted over to me. You're lucky I even showed up at all; I could go forever without seeing your face.
"Right away Madam." Can I leave yet? This meeting has gone on several minutes too long already and she's already expressed her disgust and disappointment with me. Why? …Why can't you be proud of me like you used too? Why do I still chase after something that's impossible? My manager made his way back over to his desk, picking up the landline and dialing three digits for the studio extension. "Hello yes, is Miss Cargill available? Please tell her to immediately come to my office, I have someone important that wants to meet her, so I desire a swift arrival. That is all for now, hurry and tell her." He hung up the phone, looking down at his wristwatch as my mother folded her arms over her chest and tapped her heel onto the floor below. We didn't even acknowledge each other's presence during this silence. It's been barely over ninety seconds since the call ended, I only know since I'm mindlessly counting away and praying, I can fucking leave soon. There's a knock at the door. "Enter!"
The door opened and my attention drifted over to the door, but I couldn't help but silently gasp in awe as she walked into the office. Regardless of my personal opinion, Jade has an aura about her that makes heads turn. Time will tell if she's the one I'm looking for as long as she's not the conniving woman that roofied me. All the evidence I have is circumstantial but she's my main suspect. Her clear thick pump heels clicked onto the floor as she looked away from Heyman and over to me. The first thing I noticed was that she had extensions in her hair, now sporting long and voluminous wavy hair that curled at her breasts. She had one large golden and thin hoop earrings. Her glasses, if you can really call them that, lowered whenever Jade smirked at me. Each lens had a word on it 'That Bitch.' Now her dress was the most impressive thing about this look, it was mid-thigh in length and had golden teardrops and laced golden sequins in a hashed pattern. Whatever part wasn't gold was a nude tone to imply the see-through nature of the dress. The fabric was thinner around her chest, I almost didn't see the light orange pasties that covered her nipples. The dress was sleeveless which meant that her pythons were on display, it had a halter neck with the same teardrops. Fucking hell. "Mister Heyman, you summoned me here."
"Yes, Miss Cargill I did, there is someone here that wishes to meet you face to face. Jade Cargill, this is-"
"So, you are Jade Cargill, I suppose you already know who I am." Once again Rena interrupted Mister Heyman, her hand pressed against my shoulder and practically shoved me aside. Yeah, that's nothing new. The blonde woman was face to face with Cargill, who had a split second of shock in her eyes, before composing herself back to that confident smirk. My mother slowly paced around our newest model, scanning her from head to toe. She nodded her head. "I must say, you are quite the specimen my dear, this physique is immaculate. Your fashion sense is top tier as well. See Daisy, these are what real muscles look like. Flex them for me." Jade kept that same smug look, effortlessly flexing to show off bricks for muscles. Was the jab at me really necessary, mother? Not all of us can be carved by stone, at least I'm continuing to make an effort to improve my figure with surgery. The blonde felt her biceps, "Wow, stunning."
"Your compliments mean the world to me Miss Mero, truly, thank you."
I can tell that Jade's words were genuine. I mean if one of the most famous models in the world complimented you, you'd rightfully be giddy with joy. Too bad this one is a bitch. "Mother, it's possible that she is the one that drugged my drink. Did you already forget that it could have been one of the girls?"
Her hands left Jade's biceps as she wagged her finger over near my face. "Nonsense, you are deflecting your insecurities onto this young woman because you are intimidated by her. Really, I never thought my own daughter would make up a lie like that to cover for your constant mistakes. Do you always throw blame on innocent people like this? I thought I raised you better than this." I couldn't help but release a couple chuckles at that last sentence. But no, I'm not intimidated by her; that's not the problem here. The problem lies with the fact that someone at my table roofied my drink. She's the prime suspect. Kind of figured, you wouldn't care about my wellbeing but goddamn.
Jade stepped forward, giving me those puppy dog eyes with a frown like I did something wrong here. "I would never stoop so low, you offend me with your words." Oh please, like I'd believe something like that. Cargill lowered the lenses on the glasses, giving me another cocky smirk. My mother's gaze went back to one of our newest signees. "Please don't shame Daisy, she can't help that she's not built to be as good as me. I'm built differently, that's all." Once again, Jade Cargill flexed her impressive muscles, doing a little pose after that screamed superstar to me. Fuck. There's no point in starting an argument with either one of them anymore, it's only going to resort to nothing but anger.
"Oh, I like you. Heyman said that you were about to do your first shoot with Baskow, is that correct?" Yes, that's what Paul said, how much does the bleach affect your brain?
"Yes ma'am."
"Mind if I spectate? I'd like to personally watch and see what the newest talent here can do."
"I'd be honored."
"Lead the way, Jade." Without even looking at Paul and I, my mother opened the door and allowed Cargill to walk out the door first and she closed the door behind her. Oh sure, don't say goodbye to your kid or anything. I'll see you in six months or whenever you fucking remember you are a parent to more than one child again. Once Jade entered the room, it was like I didn't exist to her. I let out a defeated sigh.
My eyes continued to stare at the closed door for several more seconds until I felt a hand grip onto my shoulder. I looked over to see Heyman beside me, he turned me to face him. "...Daisy, I know that I am stuck in the middle between the two of you but don't take your mother's words to heart. You are doing simply amazing, and I am so so proud and honored to have you as my star client. In her own weird way, Rena simply wants what is best for you. I'd like to think."
His arms pulled me into a much-needed embrace, I could feel my body trying to tremble with the frustration I am feeling at this exact moment. But feeling his fatherly aura is beginning to soothe me. A parent should always calm a child down and help them, but all mine does is make me angry and feel insecure. I sighed again and met the eyes of my manager. "I doubt it, Paulie but thank you, I'm going home." I can never repay him for everything he's done for me. Never.
He ruffled my hair a little, it was something he used to always do whenever I was younger. Speaking of that, why couldn't Paul have adopted me if Rena didn't want me? He gave me a peck on the cheek. "Alright, love you kiddo, if you need an extra day, let me know."`
"I will but she's not stopping me. Love you too." I left his office and started making my way out of this hellhole. I want to go back home and cuddle with Kait and relax with my friends.
Rena's and Jade's bullshit shouldn't be piercing through me like this, I'm not insecure about my appearance, am I? No, I look amazing, and a lot of people agree with that. Why am I having doubts? Fucking hell, I should have brought a couple cans of beer with me because I want to forget that the entire thing in there even happened. Everything is looking like a shade of red to me. I need to calm down. I need to breathe but it's hard. I climbed into my car and slumped back into the driver's seat. With how much my mind is racing, my mental state is not in the condition to safely get me home at the moment. With a sigh, I pulled out my phone from my satchel and went over to my contacts. I hovered over the name 'Bestie Bitch' on my phone for about thirty seconds. She'll know how to cheer me up, but I don't want to ruin all their fun with my drama. I scrolled back up, passing both Momma Torrie and Stacy's numbers as well. I know they'll call me later anyways and I'll bitch about it then. Fuck.. My scrolling stopped at a certain name; my lips immediately curled into a smile. Yeah, she's perfect. I felt a wave of nervousness rush through me as I pressed the call button. Why in the hell would I be nervous? It's only a phone call. After several rings, she finally picked up causing my heart to skip a couple beats. "Hey Lass, I wasn't expecting to hear from you so soon."
That accented voice has been the cause of a lot of recent bliss in my life and even more so the owner behind the voice. It hasn't even been twenty-four hours since the orange haired beauty left my house, but it feels like longer than that. "You aren't busy, are you, Rebecca?" Last time I called her she was busy out with friends for a late dinner. But that was also the first time I called her, after days of debating and persuasion from others, I decided to attempt to get Becky's number. Alas, whenever I went to the club at the start of the week, she wasn't there, and I thought maybe that was a sign it wasn't meant to be. But then, I saw Ronda, the other bartender, and I got an idea. She knew what happened between us, so I asked her, and she agreed to give me the number. She also thanked me for the other night, and I was clueless on what she meant.
"I'm not, I don't go into work for a few hours. Is something the matter?" I could hear the concern in her voice, right, yesterday she also found out about what happened Thursday too. She's going to be concerned about me. It made me feel all warm inside knowing that Becky cares for me.
"Not anymore, I just wanted to hear your voice for a little bit." Her voice is like melted butter to me, it soothes me like no other. It's the perfect mix of calming and sexy, certain words get emphasized and make me tingle inside. There's something about this woman that drives me absolutely nuts. It's something different from how I feel around Kait, it's warmer. I yearn to have her around me in some way, shape or form even if it's only texting or her voice. Is this what it feels like to be attracted to someone? I wouldn't know, I've never had a crush on anyone before that I am aware of. She'll be able to understand me so maybe, I should vent to her. "Actually..."
"I'm not going to force you to talk about anything you are uncomfortable with sharing." Becky responded, she's so thoughtful. Very compassionate and gentle, even whenever we were having sex although I can't complain about roughness there. I can see how her, and Charlotte are best friends.
I want to talk to her about my problems but I'm not sure how to compare them. We come from two very different lifestyles, although I wish I had what she had. What's the best thing I can compare my mother too? "Whenever you were in high school, did you have any.. bullies..?"
She didn't answer for a couple seconds, maybe I said something wrong and made her sad. I mean that was kind of insensitive of me to pry into her personal life like that especially with a topic like bullying. "Aye, I had several. Becky used to be a chunky lass that drank and smoked cigarettes all the time. I wanted to be tuff but I couldn't do anything without running out of breath."
"I'm sorry. You had to go through that. People are assholes."
Really Daisy Nicole, was that all you could say to that? She opened up to you and you had to be an idiot. Whatever.. Can't change the past right, lord knows I've wanted to for years. "That's such a random topic to bring up out of the blue. I am assuming it has something to do with why you are upset. Did someone hurt you?" Is my tone really giving away how much pain I'm feeling right now?
"Yeah. I'm so used to it but now, I am just numb to it. I try to stand up for myself and others, but it goes nowhere." I partially lied to the orange haired lass, I'm too sober to be numbed from my feelings. Rena can attack me all she wants, but she has no right to disrespect my bestie and my girls.
"Did they lay a hand on you because I'm willing to beat someone's arse?" Oh, the tint of anger in her voice was really sexy, it's so sweet how protective she's being. I wouldn't doubt Rebecca would be able to send my mother to the floor. Although orange is her color, I don't want her rocking that suit behind bars.
"I would have preferred if she did to be honest. My mother was at the studio today, she is my bully." She let out a very small gasp that I managed to hear over the phone, my clenched fist loosened as I exhaled a sigh. "Nothing I ever do is good enough and she will constantly berate me for it. I've been working really hard on my figure recently and trying to put some muscle on. All she pointed out was I gained weight, and I didn't have real muscles compared to one of the other models. Also implied that my natural look is ugly. Although I did manage to get a jab in about how her plastic surgeon did a horrible job with her face."
Rebecca let out a chuckle at the last sentence; I know I was proud of that jab too. I love making the bitch angry. "I don't know that your parents and you aren't on the best terms but holy shit, she sounds like a straight up cunt. I might not be a modeling agent or whatever, but I can tell you that you have the most beautiful body I've ever laid eyes on. There isn't a single flaw, you're like Aphrodite and even she had some curves to her."
My heart felt like it stopped for a second, my cheeks were heating up super-fast. Wow. I've heard thousands of compliments before but none of them made me feel as good as this. Me? Do I really look like a goddess? "Fuck...I wouldn't go that far but thank you, Becky." My monochrome vision was fading and everything was looking the way it was supposed too once again. Anger was fading, Rebecca was the best choice to talk too. She really makes me feel some sort of way and I'm confused but I enjoy every second of it. "Say, do you work tonight?"
"I do yeah."
Talking to her isn't enough, I want to see her again and even if it's only for a brief period of time. "I am going to stop by for a couple beers tonight, but I am going to go home and decompress before I end up punching something." I want to soak in the hot tub and chill with everyone, but I endure the club life for another night. "When is your next day off?"
"I believe that it is on Tuesday and then I won't be off again until Friday. Why?" She questioned.
"Would you like to go out with me on Tuesday? Um, I don't know what we could do but I just know, I need that fire that only this sexy Irish Lass can provide me." There we go, this will be my first ever date with someone I actually have a connection too. God, that's lowkey pathetic, I'm twenty-three and have never been on a real date. That is, as long as Rebecca still wants to go out. I mean, I'd like to think so since we had sex yesterday.
I heard Becky let out a little content hum. "I suppose I can squeeze you into my schedule. Let me make sure I'm available." She cooed, which got me to giggle. Why is she so cute? "Hm, would you look at that, I am. I'm all yours Tuesday."
"Excellent. I'm going to hop off here so I can drive safely home. I'll be there around nine-thirty."
"I'll make sure you have the best drinks.."
God, I feel myself bouncing in my seat with excitement. My heart's thumping so fast that I'd think something was wrong. No. It's solely because I'll get to see this beautiful lass again. The one that keeps turning my world upside down in the best way possible. "You're so sweet.. Thanks for listening to me bitch."
"I'll try to kiss you better if you allow me too whenever we have the chance." My teeth pierced into my bottom lip at the thought. Yeah, that'd be the perfect way to make this day salvageable.
"I'd be stupid to say no to you. I'll see you later Rebecca."
"See you soon, Daisy." Begrudgingly the call ended after saying farewell to each other. It's only for a couple hours though, I'll survive until then but for now, I really want to get back into that hot tub. Let's get out of here, fuck this place today.
Around nine thirty..
Despite Kait and AJ's persistence to tag along or have someone tag along with me, I didn't want them to worry. I reassured them that Rebecca was going to be there and wouldn't let anything happen to me. I'll stay at the same stool at the bar and not take any drinks unless they are from Becky or Ronda. To ease their worries even more, I pulled out one of my wigs from my case and fixed it all up. It was pastel pink and was long with beautiful curls. These are only really used for themed shoots where I think having a special hair color will make the pictures better. Tonight, it's to portray a character, Rebecca informed Ronda that I was arriving, and she gave me the perfect alias for tonight. Apparently, I am a 'cousin' of hers, my name is Dakota Kai, and I am dating her friend, Shayna. I have basic information to go off of, but I highly doubt I'll need more than that. This is all so I don't get recognized as Daisy Mero and can have a peaceful night out. I was able to see a picture of the woman I am pretending to be so I can mimic the smoky look and winged eyeliner she does. She's from New Zealand but I'm not going to attempt to do an accent. I'm not Toni.
I've been in the parking lot for a couple minutes now, looking at myself in the mirror, making sure that my makeup looks good and that none of my natural hair is sticking out. No, okay, I look good. I hope Rebecca thinks so too. Grabbing my denim leather purse for the evening, I climbed my way out of my car. Dakota likes to wear denim jackets or vests, luckily, I have a light gray denim vest. I'm wearing some ripped black skinny jeans and this pretty tie dye tank top. I would much prefer to wear a halter top or crop top but that would expose part of my tattoo. People would recognize my tattoo; it's literally shown in most of my shoots. It feels weird wearing converses instead of heels to a club. I didn't own a single pair, but I was able to easily find some black and white ones. The line to the club was pretty short this time around, but it's also a Sunday.
Not even a couple steps away from my car and someone managed to plow into me from behind. The impact was light, a more feminine gasp left whoever was behind me as I turned around to see what's up. "Fuck, I'm so sorry, I was texting a buddy and-" She didn't even finish her sentence as the woman's eyes scanned me from head to toe. "Damn girl, you're fine as hell!"
"Oh, umm, thank you. You're pretty too and no biggie, no harm no foul." Wait a second, there is something familiar about this woman. I've seen her somewhere before. Where? She's about maybe five or six inches shorter than I was, her figure was really slender. Her hair was a vibrant shade of purple, long past her shoulders and caramel skin. The only person I've seen with purple hair is Rebecca's friend. Oh! This is Mercedes, it has to be. What are the odds that her friend arrived at the same time that I did? Fuck, this is the girl that is a fan of the Hustle Heyman Girls, I hope she doesn't recognize me. She's wearing some knee-high black high heeled boots, jean booty shorts and a black crop top that has the word 'BOSS' written in gold and the S's were replaced with dollar signs. Now that I've gotten to see her up close, yeah, she's beautiful. Becky has pretty friends.
"Your car is that silver Mercedes, yeah?"
"Yeah, why?"
She reached forward while closing the distance between us, her finger started twirling a lock of pink hair. I'm praying that my natural hair doesn't show easily. "Because cutie, if you play your cards right, that car won't be the only Mercedes you'll be inside tonight." Mercedes gave me a playful little wink, biting on the finger that was twirling my hair. "If you catch my drift..." God damn it, okay she's pretty good.
"Wow… your intentions are pretty clear. I respect the bluntness."
Mercedes let out a little laugh as she twirled her finger for me to follow her out of the parking lot. I assume that both of us are here for the same person. I'm not going to reveal anything aside from the information I have been given about the person I am supposed to be portraying. "Sweetie, you can't tip toe around life and not take risks. You might miss out on a once in a lifetime chance. Like I always say, go balls deep or go home, bank on that." A risk taker huh, not that's something I wish I was more of because whenever it comes to my photoshoots. The shorter woman wrapped both of her arms around mine and that got my attention to go back to her. "So sexy thang, I could call you a million pet names all night long, but I'd prefer to know your name. I'd really like to know what to scream out later." Holy shit, that one almost caused me to blush a little. Okay I get it, you have game.
"Um, I'm not sure my girlfriend would appreciate all this." It was really all I can say at the moment. Rebecca might not appreciate this either if she saw what was happening here, but I don't want her to be mad at her friend. It's not like we are dating or anything. I'd love the opportunity to explore what I am feeling but it's not completely up to me.
Mercedes snapped her fingers with a pout. We got into the line, and the purple haired woman looked around for a moment. She released her hold on my arm. "Hmm, I don't see her around to find out, but I understand. However, I'm down for pretty much anything so if she shows up, I'll handle you both. Name's Mercedes, if you couldn't already tell, but you can call me Cedes."
"You're good. I respect that. My name's Dakota, it's nice to meet you, Mercedes."
I extended my hand out to her which she grabbed; her eyes gave me a seductive stare. "Hmm, yeah, Dakota rolls right off the tongue. I would have called you Mommy otherwise."
"That's reserved for my girl only." Well, that's something I have never been called before, especially in a sexual nature. God, I'm not going to lie. My mind wandered immediately to how it would sound coming out of Rebecca's mouth. Fucking hell. Now is not the time to get aroused, she's working, and I have no intentions of having sex with anyone else.
"I'll respect that. Well, I have a friend that works as a bartender here. Wanna chill as friends? I can get you some cheap drinks, Kota." I don't see a problem with hanging out with her if she stops hitting on me. I'm not interested but it's nothing against her. If I am going to potentially see Becky more often, I'd eventually meet her friends. I've met Bayley, albeit briefly and Charlotte and I are becoming friends too.
"Really?! My cousin works here, that's who I came to see." I said, pretending to be surprised at the revelation. Finally, we were almost at the front of the line, I was told to approach the woman bouncer. Ronda said that her name is Rhea, and that friends of hers will call her Mami so that's how I need to greet her. "Hey Mami, good to see you again."
She flashed me a smile as I reached into my purse and grabbed my ID to hand over to her. Wow, Rhea's gorgeous. "Same here Dakota, Ronda said she was expecting you tonight." Oh, my fucking god, an accent, I've discovered that I am attracted to women with accents, I guess. I showed my ID to the gothic woman. She took one look back at me and then back at the ID, a surprised expression briefly appeared on her face. She handed it back to me, giving me a smirk. "Enjoy the club."
Not going to lie, I wanted to see if I could find them before Cedes decided to attach to my ass. I wanted a hug from Rebecca. "Kota!" I heard someone shout from over at the bar, I looked over to see a blonde woman waving me over. It's Ronda. I made my way over to them as my eyes went over to where the orange-haired lass was. She was over cleaning one of the booths near the bar. "I'm glad that you were able to find the place again without any problems." She gave me a quick hug to keep the schrade going as I tried to not return it awkwardly. "Becks!"
Becks? Aw, that's a cute little nickname. Rebecca looked over to the both of us, cleaning supplies in her hands. I swear once our eyes met again, I felt the whole world brighten around me. Her smile grew bigger but then her eyes went away from me. She started heading toward me, setting her things on the counter. My heart is starting to beat faster. "Oh hell, I see a small problem."
Where is the problem? Is something happening that I am not aware of? "Bitch, I'm the whole fucking problem! You know you love me." Mercedes came into my view as she practically tackled her friend into a hug, giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"Debatable sometimes." Rebecca deadpanned as the purple-haired woman giggled, taking a seat on one of the stools. The bartender playfully wiped away where Cedes had kissed as she approached me. She held her arms out. "Hey Dakota, it's been a while."
Almost instantly, I walked into her arms and her strong grip wrapped around my body. Fuck. She smells so good, I hugged onto her. "It has Becky, hope everything is going well for you." I spoke, as she kept that same cute smile. A desire to kiss her was growing every second and I know that's not possible at the moment. After maybe about thirty seconds, it was like we both remembered that other people were watching us.
Becky gave me a little wink which stirred up my core a bit. The bartender started making her way back to behind the counter. I looked over to Mercedes, who gave me a curious gaze before patting the stool next to her. Okay breathe, act like you haven't been fucking one of her closest friends in secret for the past few weeks. I laughed mentally. You can wait a few days; she'll be all yours Tuesday. I sat down to Mercedes left. "Hey Becks, can you get Kota and I some of the good stuff, please, love you, Daddy." She cooed seductively, blowing Rebecca a little kiss. If that wasn't how besties acted with each other, I might be a little jealous of the interaction.
Hold up a second, did she just call Rebecca Daddy? Okay. well, that's a new one. I'm sure that's some kind of kink that people are into. Maybe it's a dominance thing, I'm not sure. I haven't really got to explore much of that side of me. I mean earlier I was thinking about how Becky calling me would sound. If I'm Mommy would that mean Becky is Daddy? Why am I sitting here thinking about that? "If it gets you to stop calling me that." Okay, never mind, she doesn't like that. If I would have thought about that any longer, I'd be almost squirming in my seat.
"It probably won't." I heard Becky let out a scoff as she turned her back to us while grabbing a bottle to prepare us a couple shots, I assume. I have no idea what she normally gives Mercedes to drink. I noticed out of my peripheral vision that Becky's friend was staring at me. It wasn't like she was checking me out or anything but something about me was keeping her attention. "Hey Dakota."
"Yeah Cedes, what's up?"
I turned to look at her as she crossed her leg over the other. She tapped her index finger on her chin. "Are you sure that we haven't met somewhere else before, you look so familiar?" Jesus Christ, I have only managed to be here less than five minutes and my cover is already a risk. Rebecca made her way back over to us, sliding a couple shot glasses in front of us, including one for herself. "I can't put my finger on where it could be besides maybe a wet dream, a photo or something."
"Um, we haven't met before. I'm sure I'd remember someone like you." Technically I have seen you once before, but this is our first official meeting even though my identity is a facade. I'll have to thank her one day, it's her loudmouth that got me to look at the Lass that has me feeling all sorts of things. "Thank you, Becky."
There was another small look exchanged between the two of us as I reached out for the glass. Mercedes let out a defeated sigh, turning herself in the stool to be facing the counter. "This is going to bug me; I always remember a beautiful woman's face. I wish I could remember where. But I could really be mistaken, my bad girl.." The purple haired woman reached out for her glass, raising it up in the air. "Cheers." Becky and I did the same, as we all downed our respective shots. God, it burns so good. I haven't had a drink in like two or three days, and it feels weird.
"Hey Becks, can you get me and Liv a drink, pretty please?" I heard an unfamiliar voice coo as I took a glance over to see a couple blonde walking around the counter over to where the bartenders are allowed to enter. It was a pair of blondes, both wearing lingerie, ah so they are a couple of the dancers. The taller one had super long, dirty blonde hair that was half pulled back into a ponytail and the rest went to about breast length. Her skin was tanned, maybe she's Latina or Italian descent because that tan looks natural. She's busty and decently curvy; she's wearing a red garter and bra set with red puffy sleeves and red stiletto heels. The shorter of the women had light blonde hair with waves at the bottom. She was the curvier one out of the pair and was wearing a black leather lock lingerie, which barely covered a damn thing. It was basically a bunch of straps hooked together like bondage and had rose gold colored nipple pasties. The bottom had two belts but instead of a belt buckle there were two padlocks. Finishing out the outfit, she had some fishnet stockings on with black high heels.
"Alright Mella, you've been killing it tonight girls." Okay so Mella is the one in red, probably short for something and Liv is the one in the bondage looking gear. Becky prepared them a shot of the bourbon that we had, giving both women a smile and sliding the glass over to them. "Here ladies, behave yourself please."
Mella let out a little giggle, grabbing a hold of the glass and leaning over the counter. "Thanks cutie and no promises, we are going to see Rhea and Damian for a bit." Liv gave all of us a little wave as she walked toward the entrance of the club. Mercedes was staring at her ass the entire time, which is a valid response from her, I'd like to think anyway. She turned her attention back over to Mella, licking her lips. The taller blonde on the other hand, did something that rubbed me the wrong way. She leaned over and gave Rebecca a small kiss on the cheek and a little smirk before following behind Liv. I felt a surge of anger course through me, is this jealousy? I didn't follow the blondes with my gaze instead I looked over back to the orange-haired bartender as she gave me a reassuring smile. It's like she knew to signal at me not to overthink about what just happened. Becky's here for me. This is where I need to be at this moment.
