Abducted to Black. Prologue.

What if... Gin caught Conan in the locker?
~}I{~
Gin smirked when he opened locker #219 and saw a frightened-looking 7-year-old with glasses staring back at him. "Oh? what do we have here?" The silver-haired man asked in almost a sadistic glee. With that smirk still on his face, Gin reached into the locker and pulled the child out by the collar. The child resisted, but he was no match for the man's forceful grip.
The moment Vodka saw Gin hauling the child out of the locker, he couldn't help but say, "Ah, right, the sniper did tell me that only a drunkard and a kid came in..."
Gin stood up, still gripping the now struggling child's collar, when he glanced at the other when he asked, "Any particular reason you didn't tell me this?"
As the two assassins conversed, Conan struggled to get out of the silver-haired man's grip. He had to escape! He knew they were going to kill him! Conan then realised that Gin was only gripping his sweater. 'That means!' Conan thought before he lifted both his arms into the air. He fell right out without any resistance. The moment Conan's feet hit the ground, he bolted!
Both Gin and Vodka realised too late that the kid managed to escape.
Conan was barely able to hear Gin shout at Vodka to catch him before he was outside once again. He needed to get to a police box! Or any place that had people!
But at this hour...
Conan's only option was to hide and wait out the men in black...
}{
The sniper was on the phone with Vodka, using their scope to keep an eye on the kid they saw coming out of the targeted location. "Yeah, I have him in my sight," The sniper confirmed as they kept their new target in their view. Readying the sniper rifle, they stated into the phone, using their shoulder to keep the device in place, "I can take the shot r-, huh?" The sniper paused, still keeping their scope on the child, as they listened to the man on the other end of the line. "Gin want to what now?" the sniper asked, making sure they were hearing things right.
The sniper stiffened when they heard the voice of Gin coming through the phone, "You heard Vodka, keep an eye on that kid and make sure you keep him in this area."
The sniper knew that if they didn't follow these orders, they were dead. So they replied, "Understood."
}{
Conan hid himself in the rest hut on the construction site. He was panting, his heart was racing, and he was out of energy. 'This is bad! I hope neither Gin nor Vodka got a good look at my face! Or else Ran and the old man will be!' Conan thought as he bit his lips. If only he still had a tranquillizer needle... He could've knocked him out and then used the gun to kick so he could knock Vodka out!
But it seemed that fate had other plans in mind.
Shinichi was too engrossed in his thoughts as he peered out the window to see if anyone was coming he failed to notice that there was a back entrance to the hut or the fact that someone quietly entered the structure.
The shrunken teen could only hear his own heartbeat and breathe in his ears, so he didn't even hear the person approaching. At least, not until it was too late...
A rag was suddenly planted on Conan's nose and mouth and an arm wrapped around the upper part of the shrunken teen's body. Pinning his arms to his body. Of course, Conan struggled, trying to wiggle his way out. But then the realisation that he was quickly losing consciousness filled Conan with dread. 'Cloraphome...' the shrunken teen thought before he was finally able to catch a glance at his attacker via a reflection on the glass window. 'Vod... Ka...' Shinichi realised before everything went black. Glasses fell to the ground with a soft clatter.
}{
Gin hung up with the sniper as he waited in front of the locker station with a smirk. Things might not have turned out as planned, but it wasn't a complete waste of time. 'How interesting,' Gin thought, already setting up this new plan as he lit the cigarette in his mouth.
"Aniki," a familiar voice said as the owner walked closer.
Gin turned his attention towards the voice, Vodka. The silver-haired man removed his cigarette as he blew out a puff of smoke and stared at the unconscious child in the bulky man's arms. Gin smirked when he said, "Good job, Vodka. This makes up for your earlier blunder."
Vodka could only give an uneasy nod as he adjusted the child limply leaning against his chest, making it look more like a father cradling his sleeping child. The bulkier man glanced to the side before he asked, "Should we head back to base?"
Gin nodded as he placed his cigarette between his lips as he motioned for the other to follow. Vodka did so without question. The silver-haired man then instructed the other to put the kid in the back seat of the car and to make sure to secure him so he wouldn't try to escape should he wake up before they arrived at their destination. Vodka readily agreed to that.
When they got to Vodka's car, the bulkier man did as he was ordered as Gin slid into the passenger's seat. When Vodka made sure that the unconscious child was securely fastened in the back seat, he closed the door, then moved to the driver's seat, buckled up, and then started the car. When the bulkier man drove out of the area, he asked the silver-haired man, "Aniki, I... Get what you're planning with the kid but what about that Itakura? And the program he was supposed to complete?"
Gin already had his cell phone out and typing something when he said, "I'm already working on that." He sent a text with a smirk before he made a call. Gin placed the phone to his ear as he waited for whomever he was calling to answer. when the person picked up, the silver-haired man stated, "It's me. I need you to prepare a room for someone special." Gin smirked as he listened to the other person on the other end of the call before he stated, "No, not that kind of room. We still haven't found that woman yet. I need a different type of room that can double as a temporary housing." With that smirk still on his face, the silver-haired man then stated after he heard the response he wanted, "Good, have it ready by the time I return." Gin ended the conversation with, "Perfect." Then hung up.
Vodka glanced at the rearview mirror to check on the unconscious child in the back seat. His eyes were back on the road when he thought, 'Well, things aren't going to be boring.'
~}I{ A Few Hours Later }I{~
Awareness slowly came back to Shinichi. Everything was blurry at first, but it progressively got clearer. The wall he was looking at was one he didn't recognise making the shrunken teen wonder where he was. Shinichi slowly sat up in the bed he was lying in when he thought as he rubbed the side of his head, 'What happened?' He then slowly looked around at the unfamiliar room when he thought, 'And where am I?'
Shinichi threw the covers off before he got off the bed. Only his socks were on his feet as he explored.
There was a simple nightstand next to the bed with a basic blue lamp on top of it. At the end of the bed was a black couch with the back on the wall with a matching coffee table right in front of it. There was a TV that was angled so you could watch it from the couch or the bed comfortably. On the other side of the nightstand was a refrigerator and on the other side of the appliance were counters. There was a sink next to a basic microwave on top of those counters. There was a stepping stool conveniently placed in front of the sink. There were two doors in the room, one was made of metal and was located just half a meter past the counters and the other was past the TV and was made of wood. A rubbish bin was next to the metal door.
'Cramped, but livable,' Shinichi thought as he checked the metal door. It was securely locked and didn't budge even the slightest. The shrunken teen looked the door over and quickly noticed that the door didn't have any locking mechanism from this side. 'Meaning that the lock is on the other side and someone is keeping me here for some reason,' Shinichi thought as he narrowed his eyes. He then went to inspect the wooden door, that one opened without any issue. Shinichi peered inside to see a shower to the left side of the room and a sink on the right. There was another door next to the sink, right behind the entry door. Shinichi couldn't help but think, 'That seems ill-thought-out.' before he opened that door a crack and saw a loo. A chance glance down allowed the shrunken teen to see a pair of slippers to use when entering the loo. Also convenient.
Shinichi closed the door to the loo before he inspected the shower and sink area. There was a shelf inside the shower that was stocked with liquid body soap, a soft soap sponge, and a bottle of shampoo/conditioner, all within easy reach for the shrunken ten. There was a stepping stool in front of this sink as well, and after stepping up to get a better look at this sink counter, Shinichi could see a Kamen Yaiba brand berry tooth past and a Kamen Yaiba-themed brush. The shrunken teen frowned at these, more because he didn't care for the Kamen Yaba series than anything. He checked the storage under the sink to find towels, most likely to use to dry himself off after a shower.
As Shinichi closed the storage he thought, 'Oddly stocked…' He then realised that he hadn't checked the fridge, cupboards, or the dresser the TV was propped on. The shrunken then left the shower room and checked that one after the other.
Dry food in the cupboards, though he was Not touching that overly sweet Kamen Yaiba marshmallow cereal, while the utensils were in the drawers. Getting on the stepping stool allowed him to access the plates and bowls. 'At least those aren't Kamen Yaiba-themed,' Shinichi thought as he closed the cupboards and hopped off the stepping stool to check the others.
The fridge was full of easy-to-make foods, and there was a nice variety too. The only major cooking equipment needed for a good chunk of these foods was the microwave. 'Hm, easy enough for a kid to make,' Shinichi thought before he checked the freezer attachment. Mostly frozen foods that required the microwave and two tubs of ice cream, one tub was chocolate and the other was Matcha. Shinichi closed the freezer and then the fridge when he thought, 'Whoever is keeping me here picked the most popular ice cream flavours... I don't know whether that's smart or stereotyping.'
Shinichi then went to the dresser and opened the dresser drawers, starting at the bottom and working his way up the four drawers. the bottom one held a neat assortment of Pjs, half being Kamen Yaiba-themed. Shinichi wouldn't be touching those. The second drawer from the bottom held a neat assortment of slacks, all in the black colour spectrum. The second drawer from the top held a neat assortment of shirts, all also in the black colour spectrum. Shinichi raised a brow at the... Odd choice of colour for kid's clothing before he pulled out the top drawer. The last drawer was tightly packed with was essentially entertainment. There was a gaming system equipped with a controller and five computable games to play, five books, a pad of paper with the appropriate assortment of coloured pens, and an MP3 player with a speaker attachment.
Shinichi closed the drawers but left the top one open as he stared at the entertainment items inside. He took out the games to see what they were. He frowned as he shoved the Kamen Yaba game back in the drawer, the second game looked like an educational-based game, the third was a fighting game, the fourth was that Detective game that starred sleeping Kogoro, and the last was some kind of puzzle game. Shinichi might look at the educational and fighting games just to see what they were about but the two games that needed brain power to play would hold his attention better. Shinichi then looked over the books, two were children's books so he put those next to the Kamen Yaiba game, one book was about sea life, one book was about sports from around the world, and the last book was a mystery book he'd been wanting to read.
Shinichi placed the three books he was interested in on the coffee table, which is when he noticed a hamper in the space under the table. 'Hm, whoever is keeping me here wants me to stay for a good while... Why?' Shinichi thought as he placed a hand on his chin. All he could think of for this kind of imprisonment had to do with his connection with Mori Kogoro. Shinichi's other hand immediately went to his voice-changing bow tie, only to realise that he wasn't wearing it. He quickly looked at the nightstand for it, but it wasn't there! Neither were his glasses!
That was when memories from the previous day flooded the shrunken teen's head.
'Shit'. I got captured by them!' Shinichi thought as he started panicking. He needed to find a way out! He looked around the room for any opening, but there were no windows. Air vents? No, those were both out of his range and too small. He didn't remember seeing any windows in the shower room or the loo. 'Which means the only way out...' Shinichi thought as his attention turned to the metal door. The shrunken teen quickly knelt to activate his kick shoes only to realise that he didn't have those either!
'Shit!' Shinichi thought before he checked his person for his other gadgets. His earring cellphone was gone, as was his new Anywhere Ball Dispensing Belt! The only gadget he had was his wristwatch, but it was completely useless right now. He also didn't have his cell phone... Also bad!
Shinichi bit his lip in had to be the worst possible scenario for him!
However...
Why was he still alive?
Shinichi looked at the cupboard and fridge, then looked at the dresser drawer, and then at the wooden door that was still open. This room was well stocked with supplies to keep him alive, bathed, and entertained for a while... Why?
Was it to get to Sleeping Kogoro? Getting information about the detective? Did they find out his connection to Sherry? Did they figure out who he was?
Shinichi paused at that last thought. 'No, they couldn't have,' the Shrunken teen thought before he thought back to the Kamen Yaiba stuff. 'They wouldn't bother with even getting those things if they knew that I'm not actually a kid,' Shinichi logically thought before he looked at the metal door. He narrowed his eyes at the major obstacle to his freedom.
Why were they willing to keep a child alive? Especially when said child foiled their chance at a program they wanted...
Too many questions and no way to get answers...
This left Shinichi with no choice but to wait.
~}I{ Meanwhile }I{~
Ai knew something like this would happen when she didn't find Kudou where Professor Agasa said he would be. Especially when she only found his glasses. The shrunken detective looked for Pandora's box and possibly found it...
"They have him..." Ai told the professor when she got a text from 'Conan', explaining that his parents wanted him to study overseas and that he might not be able to contact everyone regularly. The shrunken scientist called the Mori residence to ask about the text, Ran was upset that Conan didn't say goodbye in person but was glad that his parents finally settled down to have their child back in their lives.
The worst part of all this was that she and the professor knew the truth but couldn't do anything about it... Every option they had would lead to them having to reveal that Edogawa Conan was Kudo Shinichi...
"I'm sorry..." Agasa muttered as he looked at the Kudou residence next door. He then added, "I should've stopped him from going alone... Stopped him from even going to that cottage..."
Ai closed her phone when she said, "Even if you said no, he would've found another way..."
That was the truth...
And it was something the shrunken teen was paying for...
~}I{ Two Days Later, with Shinichi }I{~
The shrunken teen learned a few things while he was stuck here in this odd prison.
The first was that the lights were on a timer. While he didn't have a clock or windows to directly tell time right away, he had the TV. All he needed to do was turn it to the News and he would have the time. The lights turned on at 08:00 and turned off at 21:00.
Shinichi figured it could be worse, but he guessed the lamp on the nightstand was in case he needed to get up in the middle of the 'Night' and needed to see where he was going. How thoughtful of the Organisation...
Back to the TV note, the fact that he could access the news means that they weren't cutting him completely off from the outside. Or at least they weren't restricting a source of information that the shrunken teen could get. But this means that Shinichi can keep track of what's happening in real-time.
Lastly, all the food that was stocked was factory-sealed before Shinichi opened it. Trust the shrunken teen, he looked, carefully. The water tasted fine and looked crystal clear, so that wasn't tampered with either.
'This means that they aren't trying to poison me this time,' Shinichi thought as he twisted the bag of cereal closed before looping it and then using a clip to secure it. He carried his bowl to the coffee table as he couldn't help but think, 'But why?' Shinichi sat on the couch as he turned on the TV for both the time and the morning news. It was a recap.
As Shinichi ate, he wondered what his captors wanted from him.
Did they want something from Mori Kogoro? No, they would've used Ran for that... His connection with the police? No, that would've circled back to the Old man... Did they figure out he was connected to Sherry? No, they would've tortured that information out of him... This also means that they still didn't know about one of the side effects of their 'Perfect Poison Drug'.
'Why bother keeping me alive?' Shinichi thought as he finished eating. He quickly rinsed the bowl and spoon and left them in the sink to dry. The shrunken teen sighed as he wondered what he should do to kill time today as he waited for the Organisation to act.
Shinichi opted to finish the sleeping Kogoro game and then see how the puzzle game was. So he set the gaming system up, connected it to the TV, popped in the game, sat on the couch, changed the channel to the one for the gaming, and started where he left off.
He wished he had more to do while he planned his escape.
~}I{ The Next Day }I{~
The morning brought an uneasy piece of information that Shinichi didn't think would be possible...
'They're watching me!' the shrunken teen realised when he saw the new items in the room and the items that were no longer there.
True, the hamper was now empty, but that could easily be explained away by one of the Organization members coming in to check on him while he was asleep and took the dirty clothes. But the new items and the ones that were removed... There was only one logical reason for these...
Shinichi immediately started searching the room again, this time for any indicators that there was some kind of camera.
}{
"Oh? He caught on quick," Gin stated in amusement as he watched the monitor that showed the child looking through every possible nook and cranny in the room cell. The silver-haired man smirked as he continued to watch the antics of the child he captured. When he heard someone enter the room, Gin turned to see Vodka closing the door behind him. The silver-haired man was business-like when he asked the other, "Well? How is everything progressing?"
Vodka stood next to the other when he stated, "Everything but the analysis on the gadgets are going as scheduled."
Gin narrowed his cold green eyes at the bulkier man when he asked coldly, "Why?"
Vodka was quick to wave his left hand when he said, "Nothing on our Lab Rats end!" He shoved his hands in his pockets when he stated, "Whoever made those gadgets the kid had on him seemed to have put a failsafe in them. They all self-destructed when the Lab Rats tried to take them apart to figure out how they worked. Well except for one."
Gin's eyes were back on the monitor when he stated, "Hmm, I see, whoever made those didn't want others finding out how these particular ones worked." He then asked, his cold green eyes not leaving the monitor, "Which one didn't self-destruct?"
That was when the silver-haired man heard a new yet familiar voice say, "A voice-changing device."
Gin's attention shot to the new voice only to see Vodka holding a red bow tie to his mouth. The silver-haired man raised a brow when he asked, "The bow tie is a voice changer?"
Vodka nodded before he handed the device to the other when he explained, "The thing might not have self-destructed, but it did lock up when the Lab Rats tried to take it apart." when Gin questioned the 'Lock up' part, Vodka explained, "It's stuck on the last voice used and can't be changed."
Gin tested the voice changer bow tie before he stated, pulling the device away from his mouth, "Ah, so that's how a dead man was able to talk to you." His eyes were back on the monitor when he added, "Smart kid... Oh?"
Vodka's attention was on the monitor and he was surprised by what he saw. The child staring right into the hidden camera that was well out of reach for him with narrowed eyes. Vodka let out an impressed whistle when he said, "Didn't take long for him to find that, huh. Impressive."
Gin smirked when he stated, "Yeah, it is."
The duo watched the child in the monitor move to the top drawer under the TV and pulled out the pad and a black pen. The child wrote something on the pad before he turned the pad to show the camera what he wrote.
"If you're watching me, flitter the lights three times."
Gin smirked as he went to the system controls for that room and flipped the switch to the lights three times.
The duo watched as the child turned the pad around to write something else. When he finished he flipped the pad over for the camera to see.
"Is this the only servaliance camera in this room? Three light flicks for yes and two for no."
Gin switched the lights to the room on and off three times.
The kid flipped the pad over to change the page and wrote something. When he finished he flipped the pad back over for the camera to see what was written.
"So that means no cameras in the shower room and toilet, right?"
Vodka raised a brow as Gin flickered the lights to the room three times.
The child flipped the pad around to write. Once he finished, he flipped the pad around so the camera could see what was written.
"You better be telling the truth about this being the only camera. If not, then you are perverts." The child had a serious look on his face.
Gin couldn't stop himself from snickering when Vodka commented, "A little young to know what that word is."
}{
Shinichi knew he had to be careful now. He placed the pad and pen on the coffee table as he looked over the new items in the entertainment drawer. The Kamen Yaiba and educational games were replaced with a haunted mansion mystery game and a strategy game. The children's books were replaced with another mystery genre book and a puzzle book. Shinichi checked the PJ drawer to see that the Kamen Yaiba ones were replaced with star-themed PJs. He then checked the cupboards with the dry food to see that the Kamen Yaiba cereal was replaced with another brand while the rest of the almost used-up foods were restocked, same with the fridge. The ice cream tubs were switched out for strawberry and Oreo flavours.
Shinichi narrowed his eyes as he glanced up at the security camera when he thought, 'They're keeping track of my interests and disinterests... Why?'
~}I{ One Week Later }I{~
Shinichi has more or less figured out the system the Organisation was using for their survaliance on him.
Yes, they were keeping track of what he liked and disliked. Removing the things he didn't care for and replaced them with things that were related to things he was more interested in. But Shinichi could also request things too. Since he didn't know if there were also listening devices, nor did he really want to know, he wrote down any extra items on the pad and showed it to the servaliance camera. The shrunken teen would get the requested items the next day. Apparently, an Organisation member would come into the room and leave the items and remove the unused items, rubbish, and hamper if needed.
'But why would they do something like this?' Shinichi thought as he juggled the football (soccer ball) with his legs. He always thought better when he did this, hence why he risked requesting this. Shinichi had used the past week to gauge what he could and couldn't get from requesting.
'It's clear they want me to be as comfortable as possible in this room…' the shrunken teen thought as he continued juggling the ball. It made Shinichi wonder what they were gaining from this. The shrunken teen stopped his juggling, still unsure about his whole situation…
'The only logical thing I can think of right now is they want me for something, but what?' Shinichi thought as he glanced up at the surveillance camera.
}{
Gin smirked when he said, "Everything is ready."
}I{ About 3 Hours Later }I{
Shinichi closed the book with a yawn. He rubbed his eyes as he got up from the couch, book in hand. He put the book back in place before he closed that drawer, opened the lowest drawer, pulled out a pair of PJs, closed the drawer, and went to the shower room to change.
A few minutes later, Shinichi exited the shower room now wearing the Pjs and the day's clothes in hand. He placed the clothes in the hamper before he crawled into the bed. Shinichi closed his eyes as soon as his head hit the pillow when he thought, 'Urg, I wish I could figure out what they're planning?'
Soon, Shinichi fell asleep.
~}I{~
When Shinichi woke up the next day, he was quick to realise that the room was completely different. He shot up and looked around in shock.
It looked like he was in a proper bedroom, just without a Window. The bed the shrunken teen was laying on had a starry night theme with the bed being low to the ground. The nightstand had an emerald green lamp on top of it with two drawers. At the end of the bed was a three-level book shelf, the books that Shinichi requested were on the shelves in no real order. On the other side of the nightstand was a dresser of the same design from the previous room. The floor was carpeted with grey. There was a cosy-looking sitting area on the other side of the book shelf with a TV monitor on the left side and a small coffee table between the comfy chair and the TV. There were two wooden doors on one of the walls and a metal door on the wall parallel to the bed. There was a wastebasket next to the metal door here too.
Shinichi was quick to note that there wasn't anything that would hold any type of food as he got out of bed to inspect what was on the other side of the wooden doors. One was a storage closet while the other was a sink with hand soap and a toilet room passed that. Shinichi placed a hand on his chin when he thought that this was more of a proper room... He then looked at the metal door with narrowed eyes.
When Shinichi tried the metal door in the previous room, it was securely locked the entire time he was in there. But would it be the same here?
Shinichi cautiously moved towards the metal door and slowly reached his hand out to the knob. When the shrunken teen touched the knob, he twisted it and it opened outward without any issue. Suspicious of this, Shinichi cautiously peeked out of the room to see a hallway. He looked left to see a wall a meter away, which means that this room was at the end of a hallway. The shrunken teen then looked right, he immediately saw a green door on the parallel wall and a blue door passed that.
Shinichi took a step out into the hallway, keeping an eye out for any movements. He slowly closed the metal door, making sure it didn't creak. The shrunken teen saw that the hall curved at the end he was looking at and that there were two wooden doors parallel to the blue and green ones
Shinichi tiptoed to each door and quietly pared inside each one. The green and blue doors held bedrooms The green door room was more like a library with a bed while the blue door room felt more like a bedroom. One of the wooden doors held a storage room while the other was a nice-looking shower room. Shinichi narrowed his eyes as he followed the hallway when he thought, 'Is this a new type of tactic?' When Shinichi turned the corner, he paused at what he saw.
It was a comfortable living room. The shrunken teen first saw the blue Kotstau in the middle of the living room, which was perfectly placed so one could see every entrance. A nice-looking TV monitor was perfectly placed on top of an entertainment system that was resting against the wall where the doorway Shinichi came out of. There was a black couch on the far wall from where the shrunken teen was. The couch had a little countertop next to it that had a lamp and a simple-looking plant on it.
Shinichi stared at the area longer than he would've liked before he wondered, 'What the? Is this a prison or a house?' He saw two doorways on the back wall. Of course, the shrunken teen investigated them. The doorway on the right led to a nice-looking kitchen that had a decently-sized fridge, a practical stove on top of an oven, a microwave, cupboards, a rice cooker, and cabinets. Shinichi made a logical guess that the other residents had their meals on the Kotatsu.
The shrunken teen then investigated the other doorway, revealing that it was another hallway. However, this one had a clear exit. there was a coat rack and a shoe rack next to this door. Shinichi was quick to rush over to the door, as expected, there were no shoes in his size. But as long as he could escape, the Shrunken teen will take the chance.
Shinichi immediately reached out for the knob and jangled it. Figured it would be locked. So the Shrunken teen stood on his toes to reach the lock to turn it, but that didn't even move. 'What the hell?!' Shinichi thought as he tried to turn the lock again, and again it didn't budge.
Shinichi took a step back with an annoyed click of the tongue. Of course, it wouldn't have been that easy. Especially with Them involved.
Shinichi walked back into the living room as he questioned what had been plaguing his mind since he was captured.
Why were they keeping him alive?
Shinichi folded his arms as he tried to understand this whole scinerio. There were either factors he wasn't aware of or they had a specific plan for him... The Shrunken teen also couldn't help but think, 'But why would they move me to this place?' What was the reason for that? This place was practically an apartment compared to the room he was held in.
Shinichi walked to the Kotatsu until he noticed another hallway on the opposite end of the doorway he started in. He was about to go investigate that hallway when he heard the lock to the front door click. Shinichi's attention snapped towards the door immediately. The moment the Shrunken teen heard a set of familiar voices, he could practically feel his heart stop.
"I swear, if one more idiot asks me that question, I'm putting a bullet between their eyes," the annoyed voice of Gin came into the area as soon as the door opened.
Shinichi started to panic. He needed to hide!
Vodka's voice followed when he said, "A little much, but I can't blame you." The sound of the door closing and the locks engaging wafted in.
Shinichi ducked under the Kotatsu when he heard the two putting their shoes on the shoe rack. The shrunken teen waited for the Kotatsu blanket to fall back down before he covered his mouth as he tried to steady his breathing and his heart rate and then thought, 'Why are they here?.'
Footsteps of the duo were heard as they walked into the living room. The shrunken teen somewhat curled himself into a ball to ensure he was hidden better under the Kotatsu.
Shinichi heard Vodka say, "Although, I am a little disappointed that they seem to be focused on that rather than what you said."
Gin let out a huff before he stated, "They seem to want to focus on the unnecessary things." The footsteps stopped when the silver-haired man stated, "How about you get some drinks ready while I go get the kid."
Shinichi could feel his heart stop at these words.
"Sure, anything in particular you want? I just got juice for him, so he'll have that," Vodka's voice said. From the footsteps, the shrunken teen could guess that the bulkier man was heading to the kitchen.
'Shit'.' Shinichi thought, knowing that the taller man would find the room he woke up in empty. This was bad!
The next thing Shinichi knew, he was suddenly being dragged out from under the Kotatsu by one of his ankles.
"Not a bad hiding spot, but next time make sure you fix the blanket so it doesn't give you away," a familiar voice said to the shrunken teen.
Shinichi glared at the upside-down image of a smirking Gin.
The smirk on the silver-haired man's face widened when he said, "Oh? Nice look." He then moved his free hand to take hold of the struggling child's collar and flipped him right side up, then released the boy's ankle. The child gasped in shock at the sudden movement. Gin then held the kid up until he was at eye level with him. The silver-haired man then told the child, "Now, enough playing around. I take it you want to know what you're doing here, right?"
Not breaking his glare, Shinichi stated in more of a growl than he would've liked, "I've been wondering that since you kidnapped me!" He then hissed out, "Are you trying to use some kind of isolation torture tactic or something?!"
Gin let out an amused hum before he said, "Not a bad idea, but nope." He gave the other a sinister smile as he placed the child on the ground and Said, "Now, sit at the Kotatsu, not under it, and I'll explain it to you." He then patted the kid on the head as he moved to the Kotatsu. The silver-haired man then sat at the left side of the Kotatsu.
Shinichi wasn't sure what to think of... This... But he was sure as hell not going to trust a pair of killers!
Gin noticed that the kid wasn't moving from where he stood. The silver-haired man shrugged when he said, "Suit yourself."
Vodka walked back into the living room with a tray that had three glasses on top of it. He placed one of the glasses filled with ice water in front of Gin, a glass of iced coffee in front of the spot where he would be fitting, and placed the last glass which was filled with apple juice on the side he figured the child would sit at. Vodka took a seat at the Kotatsu before seeing that the child didn't move and asked, "Not going to sit?"
"I'm not going to drink that either." Shinichi snapped as he glared at the two. After all, these two were the ones who were the cause of his plight of having to pretend to be a kid. Like hell, the shrunken teen would trust them!
Vodka gave the child a flat look when he stated, "It's not poisoned or anything."
Gin gulped his water before he said, "It's fine, he'll get thirsty eventually." He placed the glass down on the table of the Kotatsu when he added, "He'll also warm up to us eventually."
Shinichi growled before he snapped, "Like hell, I will!" He then pointed at the two when he demanded, "What the hell are you trying to pull?!"
Vodka picked up his glass when he told the silver-haired man, "You said you'll tell him, Aniki." He then took a sip of his iced coffee before he added, "He's your kid now."
"Eh?" Shinichi got out in confusion when he heard those words. The shrunken teen couldn't help but get out, "What did you just say?"
Gin smirked when he stated, "It's just as he said, you're my kid now."
Shinichi quickly retorted, "No, I'm not! I already have a family and friends for one! All of whom are probably frantically looking for me right now!"
Gin's smirk didn't waiver when he said, "They've already been taken care of."
Shinichi paled as he got out, "You didn't!? You killed them all!"
Vodka waved a hand when he said, "No, that would be too much work to plan that many cover-ups at once."
Gin eyed the bulkier man before his attention was back on the child when he explained, "As far as your little friends know, you're parents sent you to study abroad with them. As for your parents, they believe that they signed you up for a boarding school in the States a while ago and forgot about it until they got the nice little confirmation about your arrival at the school." The silver-haired man smirked when he added, "Your school already has the transfer papers and they're none the wiser either."
Shinichi glared at the two as he bit his lips. He knew his parents would catch on to this ploy, Ai and the professor too, but everyone else... The Shrunken teen couldn't help but growl out, "Why do all that?!"
Gin smirked again when he said, "Because you'd be a great asset to us. You're already quite intelligent, but you're going to need some specialised training. But that shouldn't be too hard for you."
Shinichi took a step back when he got out in shock, "Asset?" He then nearly stammered out, "You... You want me... To join you?!"
Vodka turns to the silver-haired man when he comments, "He catches on fast." He picked up his iced coffee when he added, "I can understand why you wanted him." He then took a nice slow sip of his drink.
Shinichi couldn't believe his ears! He just couldn't! Out of all the possible scenarios he thought would happen, this wasn't one of them.
Gin smirked yet again when he told the child, "Yeah, so you might as well say goodbye to your life as Edogawa Conan. You'll be one of us soon enough." He then took a drink of his water.
Shinichi just... just couldn't understand this! So he bolted away from the two and fled to what he could assume was his room in this place. the shrunken teen slammed the door shut the moment he was inside. He belatedly realised that the door didn't have a lock... Joy...
Shinichi pressed his back against the door before he slid down into a sitting position, pulling his knees to his chest, and then hugged himself as his head spiralled around these new... Facts...
Apparently, instead of killing him, they wanted him to join them... Shinichi still couldn't believe that's what this whole thing turned out to be... And during his 'isolation', they already fabricated stories to prevent his friends and family from thinking that he's gone missing or was abducted... Well, Shinichi knew Ai, Asaka-Hatake, and his parents would know that the organisation got him but... they couldn't do anything to prove that he was kidnapped, not without tipping off the fact of his real identity...
What the hell was Shinichi going to do?
