Toni's POV

A sound similar to a drawer opening managed to wake me from my deep slumber. My eyes slowly opened, and the blurred vision was slowly fixing itself as I let out a big yawn and attempted to sit myself up. That was definitely a better night's sleep compared to the night before. The pain remains but not nearly as bad, it's way more manageable now. Now that I am able to see what's completely in front of me, I noticed the hazel eyes of the doctor looking back to me. "Oh Angel, I'm sorry. I didn't intend to wake you up." She said, turning around to completely face me.

"It's not a problem at all, Doctor…" The second the brunette fully turned around; I was left almost speechless by her half nude form in front of me. All she was wearing was a bra and panties, I hadn't pieced it together until now. Her hair looked darker than its original color, almost black. That's whenever I noticed water droplets trickling down her shoulders and down toward her chest. Oh, she just showered and was getting dressed. Why? Why does this make me feel like I'm on fire? My face feels so hot, am I coming down with something? Her figure was lean with her rock-hard abs on display, but yet, she still managed to have soft, delicate curves like her wide hips.

"Are you alright?" Angel, you fool. Was I really that enticed by the Doctor's body? I'm enticed by women's bodies in general. Am I even attracted to men? Am I attracted to both genders?

"Yeah." I managed to say, attempting to keep my eyes glued to her face. God, I can't make things weird. Does my enticement and appreciation for women's bodies mean that I am gay? I believe it's too early to tell. Focus on something else other than the fact that the brunette was probably naked beside you while you slept. "Were you able to sleep alright?" There was something that stood out to me, on her stomach, it was a massive round scar with jagged lightning-like shapes shooting up toward her breasts and down her hips. Now that I am paying more attention to everything, she's covered in scars all off them looking like slices from a weapon. The only thing on her body that didn't look like a scar was this burn mark by her pelvis, it was in the shape of a long heart. Is that a brand or something?

"I slept, yes." She responded simply before turning around and rummaging through her clothes drawer again. My eyes were tempted to stare at the curvaceous peach in front of me and noticed another burn identical to the one on her hip on her ass as well. Who did all of this to you? I turned my head away and looked to the bathroom door. "I'm trying to find some clothes for you to wear until we get to Nehanora and grab you some."

Thankfully Mina and Daisy were able to find an extra outfit at the hospital for its patients, but it was the only one remaining. "I'll be grateful for anything you can provide me, thank you Daisy." I stood up off of the bed and stretched a little. Wow, her bed is so comfortable, I probably would sleep all day if we didn't have to depart to Nehanora. "Is it alright if I freshen up before we depart?"

"Of course. I'll have to find an extra towel for you." I can still smell the stench of dried blood, dirt and river water on my skin despite washing myself since I've been here in Hazelgrave. It might be a psychological thing, but I need to be presentable for her Royal Highness.

I walked into the washroom and closed the door behind me. Looking into the mirror, I stare at myself in curiosity. Who am I? Who is my reflection supposed to be? My name is Angel but what was it before? Thinking about it constantly isn't going to help my situation any. My eyes studied the shower for a moment, it looked like a cage of sorts. There was a square bottom made of marble and a mass number of pipes that could be compared to a ribcage. At the top was a pipe in a circular shape that allows the curtains to move freely. Without wasting much time, I started to strip away the layers of clothing until I was completely nude. There was a series of knocks at the door which startled me at first. "Um, let me know whenever you have the curtain drawn back. I have the towel and an outfit for you to wear."

Stepping into the shower, I grabbed the curtain and pulled it around, so I was completely blocked from view. "Enter!" The door creaked open, and I heard the brunette walk into the room with me. "Thank you, Daisy."

"No problem, if you need anything, let me know." I'm able to see her shadow move through the curtains as she walked over to the pump sink that was mere feet away from and placed the towel and clothes on the countertop next to it. After doing so, she walked out of the washroom and closed the door tightly behind her. I sighed as I turned on the water and began to clean myself and listen to the relaxing sound of the water. It took some time to get the water to the proper temperature but once I did, I started to scrub myself clean while being careful to avoid the stitches. Those stitches are a grim reminder of my unknown life but the start of my new life. I can't wait to get them removed.

About thirty minutes later..

"Daisy? Are we ready to depart now?" After straightening up the rest of my outfit, I left the bathroom and back into the shared space. I never received an answer from the taller brunette. I scanned the area and realized that I was alone in the place with Kyros. "Daisy?" The most realistic option is that Mina summoned her assistance. So, do I stay here and wait for her return or go out there?

'Lady Daisy went to discuss some things with Miss Shirakawa. Once she is finished, we will depart but now that you are ready, let's join her.' Another voice spoke and which completely startled me. The only other living thing in the room with me is the griffin.

"What-" I turned to look at the massive creature, who was now approaching me. "Kyros, did you really speak to me?" I asked skeptically, perhaps I am going insane but that was definitely a male voice that I heard.

The winged creature nodded his head. 'That I did. Lady Daisy trusts you and I do not sense any malicious intent toward her or her friends.' Lady Daisy. He treats Doctor Mero with such respect. Kyros is trusting me because Daisy does.

"Never, Daisy, Deonna and Mina saved my life. I would never harm them or another person." Violence is never the answer to problems. All that leads to is bloodshed and death, I've already almost died for an unknown reason and the rest of my life is unknown. What was I? Maybe these feelings were influenced by Shirakawa or have I always felt this way?

'I will believe your words for now.'

"Thank you, Sir Kyros. Let's join Daisy." I can't believe that I am actually able to have a conversation with a mythical creature like this so casually. Yesterday I thought that Doctor Mero was crazy for doing such a thing. With a mutual understanding of trust between each other, the both of us exited the living space now shared between me and Daisy. I was relieved whenever she said that I didn't have to sleep in the clinic anymore. Whenever I opened the door, two familiar people turned to face me. A big smile formed on the pink-haired nurse's face as she looked at me. "Good morning, Mina."

"Good morning, were you able to sleep alright with the resident bed hog?" Shirakawa teased, nudging me in the side with her elbow. Wait, was she expecting me to share a bed with Daisy?

"Not you too, Mina. Jeez, y'all are awful."

"Aw, I'm only kidding, no need to get embarrassed."

Daisy let out a scoff as the brunette put some kind of case into her bag. I know that Rascalz is sleeping in her bag like usual. He apparently loves to sleep there especially while Doctor Mero travels. The brunette said that he has some friends to see in Nehanora. "I slept wonderfully."

Mina nodded her head enthusiastically before wrapping her arms around me in a tight embrace. She's so soft and comforting, I'm going to miss her company while we are gone. How long is this journey going to be? I recall Deonna saying that it was across the country. Speaking of Deonna, the raven-haired soldier has yet to join us here. Where is she at? "That's great, you better be safe now. You do not want to keep Queen Charlotte waiting."

"Don't worry, I'll take care of Angel. Come, you two, Deonna's already got a head start on us. She left last night." Waving goodbye to Shirakawa, the three of us departed the clinic as Daisy explained the whereabouts of our friend. I thought she was supposed to accompany Daisy to the capital, wasn't that the Queen's orders?

"Wait, why would Deonna leave without us?" I asked her curiously.

"Because there is not enough room on our travel mount, Deonna had to take a horse. The original plan didn't account for an extra person." Oh right, it was only supposed to be the pair of them traveling to Nehanora. I'm making things more complicated for them again, aren't I?
Something she said stuck out to me. "Are we not taking a horse?"

"Nope." Doctor Mero gave me a shit-eating grin as she patted the saddle on top of the griffin's back. "Isn't that right, Kyros?"

'I'll get us to the capital within a few hours, Lady Daisy.' Kyros said confidently.

"W-Wait, we are going to fly?!" I couldn't help but scream out. What in the hell did I sign up for? I don't believe I have ever flown before and I do not have any kind of wings or any sort.

I could feel my body tremble at the thought of being miles up into the sky. What if Kyros can't carry both Daisy and me? What if I fall off? Doctor Mero noticed the prominent fear on my face and placed a hand against my bicep. "Don't worry, it's scary at first but we won't let anything happen to you. Kyros trusts you enough to fly on his back. You climb on first." She reassured me with a sincere smile.

"Okay…" I wanted to feel comfort behind her words but yet my body still chose to tremble. The large griffin approached and turned itself to its side, so I was able to step the iron stirrup to make climbing easier. Managing to finally shift my weight and get my leg over to the other side of Kyros, I sighed in relief. I sat on top of the saddle; my body was still trying to shake as I held onto the saddle's horn for balance.

'Do not fret Miss Angel, Lady Daisy and I will ensure your safety. This is the most beneficial route for you both to travel.' That does make the most sense, we wouldn't have to travel on the dirt roads and traverse the potentially rough terrain. Completely cutting off our chances of running into strangers, and potentially scary people. The world has already shown itself to be a cruel place with my unknown attackers still running loose. War, bloodshed and death, Doctor Mero must have experienced a lot of hardship judging by the scars on her body.

The brunette made sure that her bag was zipped most of the way before effortlessly hopping onto the saddle. She made it look so easy, then again, she has two horses at the stable for her travels. "Deonna probably made it to Felnelian before resting for the night, we will still probably beat her there. Relax, Angel. I'll be right behind you and if you get too scared, lean into me." Her larger arms reached around me and also grabbed onto the horn of the saddle. She scooted a little closer, so we were both comfortably on the saddle. "Kyros! Show me what you got!"

With that the griffin started off with a brisk walk into a dash until leaping into the air. My eyes instinctively closed as the ground started to become smaller and the wind became harsher and collided against my face. "Oh Alphin, oh god!" Well, it was a bit redundant to use God's name and his identity at the same time. Weird, that I remember the name of the God of Life. Maybe I heard the information somewhere or it's just muscle memory.

My body felt like it was going to fall backwards if I wasn't holding into the saddle for dear life. I found myself pressed against Daisy for a few seconds until everything leveled out. "See, the worst part of it is already over. Open your eyes." I heard Doctor Mero say softly in my right ear.

Doing what the brunette instructed, I opened my eyes and glanced at the clouds barely above us. The wind blew into my hair as I looked ahead of us. I'm adjusting to being able to see despite going at such speeds. My heart stopped for a second as I took a quick glance at the ground below. Everything was so tiny; we must be thousands of feet up into the air. "Woah, everything is so colorful. How far can we see?" Despite being so high, I could see a variety of colorful foliage.

"About two-hundred miles, if I had to guess. Mortadel is a colorful kingdom with a variety of Fae forests of all colors. Those blue trees to the southwest are the general area where the small village of Lelva Aqua is. Felnelian is beyond those blue trees. They are both towns that are heavily populated with elves and faefolk." Faefolk means fairies if I recall correctly, I don't believe I have met either a fairy or an elf. But those vibrant blue trees looked so magical, I wonder what creatures reside in that forest. Would it be something that I recognize? "To our right behind Hazelgrave are the Mountains of Ratith and the forest that borders the Mortadel side is called the Chelmsbron Thicket. It's a massive forest that is famous for disappearances over the years. Rumor has it that spirits roam the forest and cast illusions to lure victims inside. Never go there under any circumstances."

I looked in the general direction of said mountains and the Chelmsbron Thicket, I could see trees of different colors. Spirits that lure victims inside, that sounds terrifying. Are they vengeful spirits? "Everything looks so beautiful. Daisy, have you ever flown before?"

I glanced back at the brunette who nodded her head. "Not on Kyros but on Ryu, I have a few times. That is the griffin belonging to Mercedes, who is another of the four horsewomen." Mercedes, that's another hero of legend that Daisy knows. I wonder, is she the one that the statue is modeled after. But Ryu is another griffin, do all of the horsewomen have such marvelous creatures?

She knows Queen Charlotte, Bayley and now mentions Mercedes. That's three of the four. "You really know all of the legendary four, that's amazing. How do you know them?" I asked curiously, does she know all the famous heroes in Mortadel?

The hazel-eyed woman looked at me with a conflicted expression on her face. She released a sigh. "...It's a long story but let's just say, we go way back."

"So, are you guys close friends?"

"..." Daisy didn't really answer me right away as her eyes looked back down toward the ground. Her eyes showed me that she was deep in thought about something. Me and my big mouth, I should have learned my lesson from yesterday. "Yes and no. It's complicated."

"I see, I apologize for asking."

"Don't sweat it, it's not your fault for being curious about the world and those around you." Doctor Mero reassured me, but I couldn't help but feel remorseful about bringing up the topic once again. I really want to know their story. How is Daisy so casual with the Queen of Mortadel? There wasn't much conversation afterwards. I remained silent and admired the scenery below us. Time started to fly by, no pun intended and finally, we were able to see the cherry blossom trees that symbolize that we are close to Nehanora. That's whenever Kyros slowly started our descent down toward the ground once again. The capital city was surrounded by a massive wall that had to be about fifty meters high. This place makes Hazelgrave look like just a neighborhood.

Hundreds of buildings of various sizes were contained inside the walls and the northernmost section of Nehanora was the castle. What stood out to me was the golden roof that covered it, is that actual gold? A queen would obviously be wealthy, but it contrasts the more textured interior of the dark stonewalls. Being able to see more of the castle, I was able to realize that the bottom of the castle was merged into a massive group of trees. The pop from the cherry blossom branches that were protruding out of the walls reminded me that some of this castle was made by nature and alive. Kyros landed on the ground but surprisingly, it wasn't inside the walls of the capital but instead outside of the gates. "Goodness, that was a lot faster than traveling by horse. Angel, are you doing okay?" Doctor Mero asked as she leapt off of the winged creature. She flashed a beautiful smile and extended her hand out to me. "Thank you, Kyros."

Returning a smile of my own back to the brunette, I grabbed onto her hand as she assisted me with climbing off the saddle. It felt weird having my feet firmly back onto the ground below. After adjusting to it, I was adoring the feeling of soaring through the sky. 'It was my pleasure, Lady Daisy and Miss Angel. Do you wish for me to accompany you until Miss Purrazzo arrives?'

"That is not needed. You may return to Bayley now; you have earned a long rest." Daisy instructed the royal griffin while doing some stretches.

'As you command, I will see you all again someday, I'm sure of it.'

Kyros was about to fly back into the sky before I decided to call out to him. "Wait, Kyros, before you go. I have a request."

This surprised both the griffin and Doctor Mero, who looked at me curiously. He nodded his head. 'Yes Miss Angel, how may I be of service?'

As he asked his question, a wave of embarrassment began to surface. It was a simple request, but I don't want it to degrade him in any way. He is a companion of a royal figure after all. My eyes shifted back to Kyros. "I was wondering if I could maybe... pet you." The last two words came out as more of a mumble, as Kyros looked at me. He stepped closer to me, and I took that as a response to my request. Reaching my hand out, I gently touched the top of his head. Ruffling his fur for a couple seconds, I felt a bond being formed between the two of us. I leaned down and gave his beak a little kiss. "Thank you, you have been such a help. I do hope we see each other again."

Kyros smiled at me before flying into the sky and disappearing behind the tall city walls. Once I looked back toward the gates to Nehanora, I remembered that I wasn't alone. Daisy was looking at me with a little smirk. "Okay, that was really cute. You are a natural with animals yourself." A slight blush appeared on my cheeks when she said such a thing, I feel so embarrassed now. The taller woman took a couple steps toward the knights watching us, that was until the bag shifted fiercely and Rascalz popped his head out of the bag. He looked at me and hissed viciously. "Well, he is an exception."

Rascalz continued to glare at me as I looked at him. "I learned from watching you interact with him. Rascalz adores you as well, I do hope he gives me a chance."

"He's old, stubborn and territorial. He will come around once he thinks you aren't a threat to me." Daisy reassured me, patting the charcoal creature on top of his head. "Isn't that right my little fireball?"

She cooed playfully while looking at her trusted companion, the creature snarled viciously at the brunette before retreating back into the bag. Doctor Mero continued at me with an almost baffled expression on her face. "Do I want to know what he just said?"

"Not at all." Her deadpanned response caused me to release a laugh and even got Daisy herself to chuckle. Doctor Mero started heading to the gate and twirled her finger for me to follow along. "Alright, let's head inside the gates now. If Deonna is not at the central plaza, I am going to take you shopping for the time being. I want you to get some outfits here to get you started."

Following behind her, the brunette was greeted with a sign of respect as they bowed their heads to her. Wow they seem really friendly, or they know Daisy, Kyros does refer to her as Lady Daisy. Opening the gates into the city, I was able to see such a vast difference as many people were already flooding the streets that were made of brick. "I appreciate this so much, you all have shown me such kindness. Please let me know if you ever think of how I can repay you." I could hear street performers strumming their instruments and children dancing around with their snacks. There were shops, cafes, and businesses as far as the eyes can see.

"You don't have too." She said matter of factly, but I wasn't satisfied with that answer. My eyes grew wide, and I stared at her with my best puppy dog eyes I could. She scoffed. "...But if I think of something I will let you know." I am satisfied with that answer. Daisy and I took the time to walk around the plaza and wait to see if Deonna had perchance arrived before us. After about thirty minutes of waiting, Purrazzo hadn't arrived yet. We departed toward the business district. Part of me was growing concerned about her safety but Deonna can handle herself. "Come, this is my favorite clothes shop in Nehanora. It's where I've gotten my cloak and other outfits."

The flashing rustic looking sign read out 'Clothes Minded', oh it's a pun, I like it. The building looked newer compared to some of the others that were near it. The brunette pushed the door open and kept it held open for me. "Hello and welcome to Clothes Minded-" A friendly voice had started to greet us but ceased abruptly. "Wow, are my eyes deceiving me, is that you Lady Daisy?"

The voice belonged to a female, and I turned to see a hybrid creature of some sort. She had the facial structure of a human with ears of a lion. She stood about my height. Her hair was long and brown, I could also see brown spots on her shoulders. This mystery person had a pair of bird-like wings that were orange in color and faded in yellow and then green as it reached the feathers' tips. The rest of her body resembled that of a human until you saw her massive paws. "It's just Doctor Mero now but yes, it is. It's been a while, Dapraz." The brunette said, correcting the woman known as Dapraz. "I hope all things are going well, I see you've expanded. Business must be booming."

"Ah ha yeah, you can say that. It's been years, glad to see that you are doing well, Doctor." She purred. She gave a massive smile to Daisy and quickly pulled her into a quick embrace. Am I mistaken or was that tone she just used flirty in nature? Is she flirting with the Doctor? Daisy doesn't seem to really care about any of that. "What can I help you with today?"

"My friend Angel needs some new outfits. She's not sure what style fits her best. Can you lend her a hand?" She gestured over to me.

"Of course! Come Angel, let's see if I can help you find your style." Without a second thought, the happy shop worker grabbed onto my wrist and led me toward the products. Daisy remained in the shop but allowed Dapraz to talk to me and figure out what I desired. I wasn't sure. I explained the situation about meeting with the Queen, so she led me over to some formal attire. I can't imagine myself in a suit, so I opted for dresses. My favorite color is still a mystery, so the kind worker suggested neutral colors like white, grays and black. After a couple minutes of searching, I found a dress that I was satisfied with.

Dapraz said it was a mermaid style dress and went almost to my knees. The dress covers only a small portion of my shoulders and flows down into a delicate plunging neckline. Originally, I was concerned about the dress showing too much, especially around my breasts but it emphasizes my breasts in a dignified manner. The sleeves are about medium length, going to about my elbows and widened at the bottom for easier movement. The dress' waist is wide, but it's a slim fit. It's not decorated with anything in order to create a graceful, flowing look. The mermaid style allows my curves to be shown off as it clings to them perfectly. After picking out a simple pair of black peep toe shoes, the outfit was complete. Showing the outfit, I had chosen off to Daisy, she smiled and seemed pleased with my choice.

The brunette offered to purchase some earrings to go with my outfit which I politely declined. I already felt bad enough for Daisy paying for this outfit. I told her that we would return at a later time to get me some more clothes. I can't wear this dress everyday but hopefully this is good enough for the Queen to not smite me. Doctor Mero paid, and we said our farewells to Dapraz and went back outside. "Deonna's here. She just got here, let's go meet her." Where? I looked around but didn't see her anywhere. Daisy grabbed onto my wrist and started leading me over back to the central plaza. Sure enough, standing by the massive statues was our friend. "About time you got here, Dee. I was starting to get worried."

Deonna turned to look at us, her hand resting against her hip. "Hey, fuck off, I didn't get to ride a griffin here and I was helping some folks deal with some rogues." She scoffed out but kept a confident smirk on her face.

"How many arms did you break?"

"Yes." I'm not sure if that gives an answer but at least the raven-haired soldier was able to handle the threat of those rogues. Purrazzo ignored the eye roll of the tallest woman and looked at me. Her eyes scanned me from head to toe and a small smile graced her lips. "Wow Angel, you look great."

"Thank you." I feel a little bashful upon hearing the compliment. She's so sweet to me. They all are. I walked around to gaze upon the statues on display at the center of the plaza. Four statues all sculpted and painted beautifully, it felt like I was staring at a portrait. The tallest one stood with a spear in her right hand and a crown resting upon her blonde hair. One on the left looked to be the shortest of the group with vibrant blue hair and massive angel wings. The one on the right was equipped with a bow, her skin was a shade of light green and she had branches coming out of her head. The last one was in more of a battle stance, she had orange hair that looked like a burning flame and with two curved horns on her head. This one has to be a demon. "These statues are beautiful, different from the one in Hazelgrave. Are these the four?"

Deonna and Daisy shared a glance between each other, which made me seem uneasy. Why are they glancing at each other because of my question? The brunette nodded her head, and the raven-haired soldier was the one that answered. "Yeah, the one with the blonde hair is Queen Charlotte. The one on the left with the blue hair and angel wings is Lady Mercedes. The woman on the right with the green skin and two-colored hair is Lady Bayley."

Hm? That was only three names, the demon woman in front of me remains unnamed for the time being. "What about the one in front of me? She's the one that has a statue in Hazelgrave."

Deonna seemed hesitant to answer me. "That lass right there is Becky, she despised being called Lady Becky, she preferred being called 'The Man'." Doctor Mero answered, her eyes were not looking toward me whenever she spoke but instead to the statue of Becky. I wonder if this Becky woman resides in Hazelgrave, I wonder when I'll meet her. Is she going to be with the Queen?

"Oh wow, they are all so beautiful."

"Yeah, let's go. We do not need to keep the Queen waiting; she has probably been informed of our arrival by now." Deonna reminded me of the whole reason while the three of us were in Nehanora in the first place. Sightseeing and shopping can wait until our business is taken care of. The journey through the streets of the capital took about twenty minutes due to some crazy traffic but finally, we were getting closer to our destination, this massive castle. What separates us from the castle is stairs, loads of stairs.

"Angel, can you please take my bag?" Daisy suddenly asked which made me cock my head in confusion at her. She's always been the one to carry it around and plus Rascalz is sleeping inside and I don't think he would be fond of the idea of me carrying him. But that look in her eyes told me that I should probably do what she asks. With a nod of my head she handed me the bag, the brunette gave me a small smile. "Thanks."

The three of us continued up the steps leading up to the palace overlooking the capital city. Two massive flights of stairs almost make it feel like we are ascending up to the heavens. I'm already so exhausted and there's still another flight to go. However, the three of us never got the chance to start climbing more steps. A strong feeling of unease overcame me, it felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders. "...What is this pressure?" Deonna questioned, taking a short glance back to Daisy and I. "I can't move."

"Daisy. Deonna. What am I feeling?" If this is some sort of magical presence, then this is the first I've been able to actually feel myself. I couldn't sense Kyros but this one, it's on a whole other level. No matter how hard I tried, my body was refusing to move almost like it was glued to the stone surface. Gusts of winds erupted out of nowhere, the sheer force of them felt like they were cutting my skin on contact. What the hell is going on? "I'm scared, I-I can't move."

Doctor Mero crossed her arms near her face as she somehow managed to take a few steps up the stairs. Her head tilted upwards to look at the top of the castle and turned her head back to look at me. "Shit. Angel, remain calm and no matter what... don't get involved." The brunette said cryptically but gave me a small smile in reassurance. Does Doctor Mero know what's about to happen? With as much strength as I could muster up, I looked up to where Daisy looked and noticed something. On the pinnacle of the castle, someone stood at the very top of it. Huh? The only feature of said person that was I able to see was the large white wings that sprouted from their back. "Cedes-" Daisy shouted through the rampaging gusts of winds but never got to say anything more, as the figure disappeared from our sight.

That's what I initially thought, but not even a second had passed and those angel wings hindered my vision. She was right beside us, and I never saw her move a muscle. How in the hell did this stranger manage to teleport like that? The blue-haired angel was in front of Daisy and not even a second later, the brunette in front of us went flying back down the stairs and crashed roughly into the stone below. "Doctor!"

The disheveled and broken cobblestone flew from the ground as the brunette laid there almost motionless. Why? Why is this woman attacking such a sweet person like Doctor Mero? Daisy hasn't moved a muscle, my heart was squeezing and beating a lot in my chest, it hurts so badly. She's... She's not dead, right? She can't be. An angel with striking blue hair, that reminds me of the statue in the central plaza. Oh my god, this is one of the four, Lady Mercedes. "Daisy!" Deonna called out to her friend, she growled and managed to force herself to move and grab her sword from its sheath. "Why are you doing this?" The raven-haired soldier questioned, drawing her sword and pointing the blade at the blue-haired woman.

Mercedes arched her brow over to Purrazzo and let out an arrogant laugh. Her wicked smile slowly morphed into a scowl. "Don't you raise your sword at me, soldier, stay out of this." Deonna didn't move from her battle stance, and I could see the fierce determination in her eyes. She was going to attempt to fight one of the four, wasn't she? What should I do? I'm powerless against someone so powerful. But if I don't do something, two people that I care about could be severely hurt or worse. The angel turned away from us back down to the bottom of the stairs. I felt a wave of relief as Daisy had somehow managed to get herself back to her feet. The brunette panted softly, and my eyes widened up seeing a thin trail of crimson liquid rolling down from the top of her head. She's bleeding and Mina's not here to patch her up. "I've been waiting for you to show your face around here again."

"Damn it, Mercedes, seems like you haven't changed at all." Daisy hissed out. The amount of pain I could see in her eyes right now, what did Mercedes do to her? I couldn't see because I wasn't fast enough. The blue-haired angel grinned and disappeared by my side and was right in front of Doctor Mero again. She's teleporting or moving so fast that I can't register it. Mercedes lifted her hand and balled it into a fist. She punched the brunette square in the gut and sent her flying again but this time, the angel continued her onslaught. I'm helpless in this situation, I'm sitting here watching one of the four horsewomen beat up my friend so viciously. Every hit, a gust of wind would pass by me, the sheer force of her blows is causing such violent winds. Daisy's not a soldier; she can't defend herself. Mercedes has such an evil look in her eyes. She's enjoying every second of this.

With one last kick to the gut, the Horsewoman grabbed Daisy by the fabric of her cloak and tossed her into the stairs. I flinched upon hearing a loud cracking sound which I can only assume is the brunette's ribs cracking at the sheer force of the kick. Come on Angel, you have to do something. Anything, I would never be able to forgive myself if something horrible happened to Daisy. Is this really how you are repaying the doctor for her kindness? By watching her get beat to a pulp, you're pathetic, Angel. Move. Do anything! Her magical pressure has made it barely possible to move my head let alone make my entire body move at once.

The pressure is still attempting to keep me paralyzed but the wind roaring fiercely like a rampaging storm. I have to try. With one last deep breath, I willed my body forward at first, I wasn't able to move but somehow, I was able to take a step. Followed by another, each other going faster until I was able to fully run down the stairs. Mercedes' overwhelming power wasn't able to stop me anymore which was odd, but I don't need to think things further. Running as fast as possible given the circumstances, I managed to make my way down to the brunette's side. "Doctor Mero, are you okay?!" I shouted, crouching down and trying to lift her up her almost limp body. She's unconscious, and bleeding, not only from her head anymore but also from the scraps on her arms and abdomen. I turned to look Mercedes in the eyes, the blue-haired woman stared at me with a slightly shocked expression on her face. "Stop hurting her, please." I begged.

The angel's gaze softened upon noticing the tears that started to trickle down my cheeks. Finally, I believe that I am getting somewhere with this legendary warrior. Why is she bullying my friend? Mercedes folded her arms across her chest, and she erupted in laughter. "Did she just call you doctor? Haha, oh, that's rich. I forgot that's what you are pretending to be nowadays." She continued to laugh loudly like I was some sort of comedian calling Daisy by her job title. Daisy's eyes opened and weakly gazed at me. "Hmm, you look familiar. No matter. Move blondie, or you will be the next to face my power."

Lady Mercedes pulled something off of her belt, it looked to be a wand of some sort with a crescent moon on the end of it. Her face hardened back into a scowl and the weapon was pointed directly at us. This power of hers is terrifying but I'm not leaving Daisy to defend herself. "I refuse; she doesn't deserve such harshness. Daisy's done nothing wrong!"

The angel didn't like my response to her threat. The moon gemstone on the wand started to glow a yellow color. "A-Angel, this doesn't concern you…" Doctor Mero said weakly and somehow managed to stand to her feet once again. How is she doing this? I looked back at her and didn't budge from my spot. There had to be something I could do. Would the Horsewoman actually attack me? It's a gamble but I have to risk it, to protect my friend, someone who has helped me. "You have never been one to be able to handle the truth. Mercedes, stop this nonsense, this is point-"

The brunette didn't even manage to get out the second sentence as a yellow beam shot out of the wand and toward us. My eyes instinctively closed waiting for the impending storm of pain but instead, I felt two hands push me away. What? Opening my eyes, I was able to catch myself from falling and I turned to see that Daisy had her arms up in a defensive position and smoke was coming off of her forearms. Did..Did she take that attack head on like that? "Nope, and stop being a pussy and fight back." She said emotionlessly, shooting another yellow blast at the brunette. For the first time, I noticed that Mercedes took a stance before flying forward, this time I was barely able to see her as she tackled Daisy with a spear and they both crashed into the ground. "Why... Why wasn't it you? Why WAS it you? I don't understand!"

Mercedes' shouts managed to tug at my heartstrings, it sounded like she was in a lot of pain. Why? What is she alluding too? I cannot understand why she continues to hurt Doctor Mero. "I think about that a lot myself, Mercedes." Daisy responded with her own saddened tone. The blue-haired woman snarled, jumping up into the air and hovering there, staring down at the brunette. "I'm not fighting you."

Daisy's statement confused me. How would a doctor be able to fight such a legendary warrior? Lady Mercedes is demanding a battle with someone that can't even fight. A lot of what the angel has said is confusing me, she claims that Daisy is pretending to be a doctor. What has made her so hostile toward a sweet person? "Fine by me, I'll destroy you." Smirking widely, the Horsewoman flew back down, her knees colliding onto the brunette's stomach. The landscape became more damaged as the sheer force from her devastating attacks shattered more cobblestone. The winds were still rampaging and even tearing the fabric of my clothes. Daisy released a blood curdling scream, and I noticed blood came from her mouth. She's really hurt, really bad. What can I do? I'm scared.. I'm powerless. I need to intervene again.

Suddenly out of the corner of my eye, I saw a familiar face rush forward with her sword. Deonna growled, swinging her weapon. Mercedes didn't even look in her direction and extended a handout towards the raven-haired soldier. A whirlwind spiral formed around her hand and shot out a Deonna, causing her to fly backwards. Purrazzo recovered quickly, planting her feet firmly onto the ground. I sighed in relief. The angel chuckled, looking down at Daisy and gesturing over to Deonna. "Your soldier has bigger balls than you, I respect that but she's a fool if she thinks she can ever touch me."

The raven-haired woman took one deep breath and lunged forward. Mercedes sighed, climbing off of Doctor Mero and faced the soldier charging at her. She stood up and pointed that wand as it charged another yellow mass of energy. "Am I really supposed to stand here and let you beat one of my closest friends to a pulp? You are one of the four but I'm not a weakling. I-"

The blast was shot at speed unimaginable; Deonna won't be able to deflect or avoid that in time. My head instinctively turned away; I can't watch another one of my friends get destroyed by this woman. She's a hero, right, then why the fuck is she acting like a villain?! The sound of an explosion occurred, and I looked back to see some sort of green structure now formed in front of the soldier. The longer I stared at it, the more I was able to deduce that this new wall was made from vines. The vines moved and disappeared back into the ground. Mercedes scoffed, picking the brunette up by the throat. "Don't be foolish, you'll get yourself killed. We will handle this from here."

A new voice spoke and caused Deonna and I to both look behind us. A woman was approaching, she had light green skin dawning similar knight armor to Mercedes. Her dark brown and red hair was pulling back in a low ponytail. "You are… Lady Bayley." Deonna said almost speechless.

Lady Bayley? That's another of the four horsewomen; she's come to aid us in calming the raging storm that is Lady Mercedes. At least, that's what I hope anyway. "Yes I am." The dryad smiled at the both of us. Her kindness was radiating off of her like a warm sun, it eased my troubles a little. The brunette looked to the sky as the angel was now up in the air holding Doctor Mero by the fabric of her cloak. "God damn it, Mercedes. Get your ass down from there."

"Bay, don't you dare get involved!" Mercedes shouted angrily.

"Lady Bayley please, she's going to kill Daisy if you don't intervene." I begged over to the legendary warrior, her hand gently rested upon my shoulder.

"Ha! I'd never kill her because I'd never give her the satisfaction of going to hell." The angel heard my words and countered back with a retort. She doesn't want to kill Daisy but make her suffer instead. That's so cruel. All of this is cruel.

"Regardless, I'm going there and that's inevitable." How Doctor Mero is even awake at this point is beyond me, this would have probably killed or paralyzed someone. The blue-haired horsewoman let out a snarl and threw Daisy down to the ground below. Vines burst out of the ground again and saved the taller brunette from crashing into the ground. Daisy looked over to Bayley with a small smile before turning back to Mercedes. "Have you lost your touch or something, Cedes? I've been able to see your movements."

Why are you antagonizing her further? Doctor, I hope you know what you are doing. "You bitch! I'll show you who has lost her touch and newsflash; it's YOU!" Her magic grew exponentially denser as more of the ground was starting to crack under the pressure. She's going to destroy the city at this rate. The angel flew down at supersonic speeds, I couldn't keep up with her until she was almost to Daisy. Mercedes never connected another hit; a stream of water was wrapping itself around her wrist and her body like a serpent squeezing its prey stopping her in place. Water? "Char-"

"Have you forgotten the reason that we summoned her here, Cedes?!" Another voice shouted angrily; a tall blonde elf made her way toward us with a scowl on her face. With a simple flick on her hands, the water flicked Mercedes away and sent her hard into a wall. Is this another one of the horsewomen? Resting upon the blonde's head was a crown and finally I started to piece things together. This is Charlotte, she's the queen and the leader of the four horsewomen. "Your grudge match can continue after this matter has been resolved. Compose yourself woman, you let her mind games affect you in such a way." The blue-haired woman effortlessly got back to her feet as her wings disappeared in a small stream of light. The pressure and howling wind that Mercedes had created ceased. I feel like I can breathe easier now. Queen Charlotte shook her head as the blue-haired woman joined back with the group. The blonde elf walked over and grabbed the doctor's hands. "Daisy, it's been quite some time since we've last seen each other. I'm sorry that your homecoming party was a bitch."

"It has, Charlotte and yeah, I've handled worse." They are speaking so casually and she's not referring to the Queen in a regal manner. Wait, did she say she's handled worse than the beating that Mercedes gave her? I-I thought Daisy was going to die. I'm amazed with her durability, how is she able to stand up after all of that? Her eyes are definitely showing the extent of the pain she's in but somehow, she's still standing and conscious.

Charlotte's attention turned toward us as she had a more neutral expression on her face. "Is this the soldier that issued the report of the sighting?"

Deonna grabbed my arm as she descended down to one knee. I followed her lead and bowed to the Queen. "Lieutenant Deonna Purrazzo of Hazelgrave at your service, your Majesty. I am the soldier that informed Marc Mero and Agre of what we saw." Mero? So, Daisy's father's name is Marc unless that's a different relative of hers. He has some sort of authority in Hazelgrave to relay the message to the Queen of Mortadel.

"Bayley, can you patch Daisy up some?" The Queen of Mortadel asked, and the dryad nodded her head. She reached her hand forward to Doctor Mero and a green aura surrounded her hand. The blonde elf's attention drifted to me. "And you, what's your story? State your name."

I felt a shiver go down my spine while she addressed me. I've never been around anyone of royalty, and I should be on my best behavior. I would not want to get Daisy and Deonna in trouble. "Your Majesty, my name is Angel. Doctor Mero and Miss Purrazzo rescued me, and I asked permission to accompany them here."

Charlotte gestured for Deonna and I to stand up. She arched a brow over to the taller brunette, resting her hands on her hips. "Daisy, is there a reason you allowed this?"

"Yes, Angel was found minutes after we witnessed her flying overhead. She has no memories and cannot recollect anything of her past life. She wished to travel alongside us in hopes someone would recognize her." The doctor explained as I started walking over toward her and Lady Bayley. My company isn't going to get the brunette in any trouble, is it? Daisy looked at me with a small smile and I handed the medicine bag with Rascalz outside back over to her. Is it possible that Doctor Mero knew that Mercedes would be waiting to beat her to a pulp? Is that why she handed me the bag? She was able to sense the legendary warrior before we were immobilized by the pressure.

Queen Flair nodded her head. "Hm, the timing of events seems odd." The taller blonde's gaze lingered on me for several more seconds. The hairs on the back of my neck were standing up, her neutral gaze had softened. "You look familiar, but I am unsure as to the reason why."

"Now that you mention it, she does." All three of the horsewomen I have met have said something about me looking familiar to them. Perhaps I am from here after all, although they haven't given me a name or anything of the sorts.

"Bayley, can you potentially heal her? Could that help restore her memories?" Daisy asked the dryad in front of her as the shorter woman turned to face me.

"I'm not a miracle worker but I will try after I finish tending to you." Lady Bayley replied.

"I'll be fine, Angel's more important at the moment." How am I more important than the several broken bones that you might have? The gesture is sweet, but I would prefer to wait until Daisy's completely healed before even thinking of asking the horsewoman for assistance.

"Bay, let me handle this because I'm not healing the 'doctor'. My magic might be better for this." Surprisingly it was the blue-haired angel that spoke next. Mercedes approached me with a small smile on her face. How is she acting like the last minute or two didn't exist while I watched helplessly as she beat my friend up?

"Um, okay, thank you Lady Mercedes." Should I even trust her? My eyes glanced over to Doctor Mero, who looked at me with calm eyes and nodded her head. Why does she trust someone like Mercedes, someone who wanted to punish her so severely? I have no reason to doubt her judgment.

"...Yeah." Lady Mercedes held her wands out toward me and instead of a yellow glow, this glow was white but felt so warm. The white magic enveloped my body, and the warm feeling traveled throughout my body. This feeling felt super familiar, it was warm and gentle what I imagine the love of a parent, or a spouse might feel like. After several seconds, the blue-haired warrior moved her hand back down to her side. "Your wounds are completely healed now but I was not able to find anything in your body that could contribute to the memory loss. You're definitely an interesting woman."

"Mina removed some poison from Angel's body. I have the vial in my bag, it was enough to take out a dire bear." Daisy explained which got Mercedes to let out a gasp, she looked to be in deep thought as she continued to stare curiously at me. "I wanted to see if Paige, Lillian and Elora could help me discover its ingredients. I have a hunch, but I need more clarification."

"Wow, you are remarkable, Lady Mercedes. I feel even better than before." The difference between Mina's magic and the legendary horsewoman's magic was completely night and day. I feel like I never got injured and how I am supposed to feel. Now I'll be able to get these stitches removed for sure. But sadly, her magic was not able to grow my finger back but at least it's healed and cannot get infected now. "Thank you for attempting to restore my memories." It sucks that my memories couldn't be restored via magic but there has to be another way.

"Hmph, well yeah, I am one of the four." She said in that arrogant tone that she was using earlier.

"Technically Mercedes, there are six. People only like to recognize the main four." Doctor Mero said in her own cocky tone.

"Tch."

Wait a second, there are more horsewomen than the four statues in the center of town! I've met three of them and the fourth is the same one that has a statue in Hazelgrave. I have yet to see her in person. Now there are two more that hold such a legendary status. "There are six horsewomen?! That's amazing!"
"Yes, two of them were recruited on and one of them was the first human to ever process strength to potentially be equal with us. The other is not as strong but she's a co-captain of our army." The other ones are humans and hold such a prestigious honor. Lady Bayley said that one of them is a co-captain alongside them however she is the weakest out of them.

"This is enough of a history lesson for now. We must address the important matters and that's verifying Vyrolo's existence and potential whereabouts." Vyrolo.. That is what this meeting is about. After the Queen mentioned the name, I couldn't help but look over to Doctor Mero. She didn't look scared this time but instead her face hardened, and it was a vicious look, one I've never seen from her. "Dana has gathered the council members, and the meeting is about ready to start."

"Charlotte, what do you require of Angel? Do you wish for me to take her home for now?" The brunette beside me asked the Queen. I don't want to go all the way back home. Daisy's still hurt, and I wouldn't feel comfortable being in her without her. I could stay with Mina but that's beside the point.

"No, your friend can attend our council meeting, but she mustn't speak unless addressed."

"Yes, your Majesty, I shall be on my best behavior, thank you very much for your kindness." Charlotte beamed a smile and immediately turned her heels to ascend up the stairs and toward her castle. Bayley and Mercedes followed behind the blonde elf. I breathed out a small sigh of relief that I am allowed to stay with my friends and attend this meeting. Deonna looked at me with a smile and started making her way up the stairs. Daisy gestured for me to follow behind, her gaze mixed with determination and pain. Vyrolo, this is the monster that potentially caused Doctor Mero's trauma and that scar. I want to help but I don't know what happened. This bitch of a dragon needs to die and I have faith that the Horsewomen will be able to accomplish such a task.
