After getting better acquainted with Farkle, also known as "Void", Lori and Lincoln introduced their new friend to the training lair under Lisa's bunker to help him train and get better with his own powers. After all, practice makes perfect. Of course, the family wanted to meet Void since he is now a friend to Lori and Lincoln, and it would be a good idea to be better acquainted with the whole family just in case there is an emergency, or if there is a problem that the three heroes cannot handle alone, or in a heavy pickle.
Void was introduced to the whole family, who was waiting for him in the living room. "So, you're from Wales, huh?" asked Luna. "What's it like there? and are the people friendly?"
"The people are very friendly" Void smiled. "Wales is very rainy and one of the wettest European countries in the whole world. And, it's a mountainous region in the eastern part of it, and our flag is-"
"OH yeah, i've seen the flag dude. Very sick." Luna said with a big grin. "Why doesn't our flag have a cool dragon on it?"
"Life is just unfair, i guess." Void speculated. "So as Lori might have mentioned to you, I am Void, a hero of dark powers that I intend to use for good. And i will make a great friend to her and everyone else that she knows and cares about."
"Oh, speaking of people," said Lori. "You should probably get acquainted with Mayor Davis. Me snd Lincoln made a pact to her to always protect the city."
Void made a frown. "I don't know, Lori." He admitted. "Sure it would be nice for heroes to make friends in high places, but what if you are just heing used by a politician with your own power? And i am no fan of political figures, monarchs, or presidents."
"We've know Davis for a long time." Said Leni. "She's a very nice person."
"Yeah, she always willing to put the city first before herself." Lana nodded.
"And besides, Void." Lincoln pointed, "you've been on the News two times. And you probably got her attention for that. So Davis might come looking for you, anyway."
"True. Fair enough. I guess i would have to come clean some time." Void realized. "Very well. I may not be one for politicians, but if she is a good person as you say she is, then I believe you all."
At the Mayor's office, the three heroes were waiting for Davis to show up, and she just came out of the bathroom. "Whew, i have got to stop eating so much watermelon in one sitting." She then patted yer tunmy. "ah! Here is the newest superhero himself." She smiled at him as she sat in her desk. "Shadow, right?"
"No, void, like a dark or eternal void of nothingness." Said he.
"Well, Void, you have done us a great service for the whole town of Royal Woods on more than one occasion." The mayor smiled. "Helping Volcano Girl and Laser Boy against those bad guys in the street and at the retirement home earlier."
"I was only doing my job, Mrs mayor," said Void. "Nothing more. You see, i am dedicated to helping people that need my help."
"of course, and i am very happy for that a selfless young man like you is defending the world from certain doom and destruction. Now, first thing's first, Void. You must say the pact that you will protect Royal Woods and it's people from any danger. After that, you should he good to go."
Void took a small breath and had no choice but to comply. There was no other way around it. He repeated every phrase that Davis had instructsd him, just like how Leni and Lincoln did whej they first came into the office.
When Davis was done instructing him on the oath, she said: "now, can i please know your real name? I promise to keep it a secret from everyone else."
Farkle looked a little unsure, but he had no choice on this one either. The Welsh hero sighed and replied: "Very well. My... real name is Farkle Donovan."
"Perfect. And your secret is safe with me, Farkle."
"Please, call me Void. I.. always hated the name my parents gave me. But don't tell them that though, i don't want to hurt their feelings."
"Of course. My lips are sealed, honey. So now that you are part of the superhero pact too, it is official, and i am counting on you to help protect this city from certain doom and destruction." Void smiled in gratitude to the mayor, and realized that maybe this wasn't such a bad idea at all. This mayor seemed decent and wasn't corrupt or greedy or dishonest like many politicians would be in the world.
After leaving the office, Lori said: "I told you she is literally someone you can trust."
"Aye, i can see why she's the mayor." said Void. Suddenly, a blast was seen in a distance, and it spooked all three heroes. By the look of that blast, something is definitely wrong. "Good Gravy, what was that?" Void exclaimed
"Let's take a look." said Lincoln. He felt Lori grab onto him as she was carrying him as she was flying. Void took the liberty of turning into his shadow blot form and flew after them. In the middle of the city, three cars were on fire, and a lamp post was knocked down as if a tornado had hit it. Lots of people were running and screaming from whoever caused this sudden destruction. Suddenly, a big wave of light had hit another car, making it eplode on impact, and landing into the base of a tall building with the sound of glass shattering.
Looking where the light had come from, they saw a teenage boy with long black hair, and wearing some kind of light armor with the sun on his chest as its insignia. He looked like some kind of hero with that look, but he did set those cars on fire.
"Ah, Volcano Girl, i've been dying to meet you." said the youth with a snobby voice.
"Who are you?" asked Lori demandingly
"Solar Flare is my name, creating things out of pure light is my game." said he.
"Did you make those cars explode?" Lori sounded mad
"That i did, sweetheart." said the youth, flying over to her in a flirty position. "You are even more beautiful in person." before Lori knew it, he planted her with a surprise kiss on the right cheek.
"Ugh, gross!" Lori wiped the Solar Flare cooties from her cheek
"Don't be rude, it was a compliment. And you should be honored to get a kiss from such a handsome prince like myself."
"I literally have a boyfriend!" Lori got madder
"Oh?" said Solar Flare with a smug look on his face. "Does he have good looks I do? Does he have super powers?"
"No, but that doesn't matter. Why did you set those cars on fire?"
"Because they are so ugly. They made real cars look like vomit with those ugly cars. I did them a favor by purifying them with my light powers. Many countless things are very outdated and they need to be pure and modernized."
"But this is wrong." said Lincoln
"You are not the only one to say that. Many of these heathens do not know the first thing about proper makeovers or renovating things into the light." said Flare. "You should all be thanking me for getting rid of these jallopies for you."
"You are clearly demented." said Void with his arms crossed
"And who are you to judge, Mr. Prince of Darkness? Go back to the Underworld from whence you came."
"The only one who will be sent to the underworld is you!" He fired a blob of blackness into Solar Flare, knocking him into a telephone pole, and making him dizzy. The light-themed villain immediately regained his composure and stood up, looking quite angry
"How dare you attack a pure human being!"said Flare, fluffing off the dust from his suit. "Nobody does that to me! Is this anyway to thank someone who is trying to renovate a run-down city?"
"Renovate?" said Lori. "you're ruining this city and literally putting it to it's foundation!"
"To each her own." said Flare before coming to charge at the fire-themed hero. He readied his right fist to try and punch her with it. Before he can even land the blow on her beautiful face, something stopped him from doing so. Void rushed at the light villain and used his own right fist to collide against Solar Flare, knocking him backwards, and Void used his combat prowess to swing punches at the light-themed villain.
"You know what's sad?" said Void as he used one hand to block a punch from Solar Flare, who tried punching him in return. "You look like a hero, but you are actually being a villain instead. Just look at the destruction you're causing for your own interests." he gave Flare a painful punch of his own, knocking him flat on his butt.
"Oh, i'm a villain?" said Solar Flare before using some kind of light to blind Void temporarily. It gave him the opportunity to punch Void a few times. "You're the one who's the villain. Look at how scary you look!"
Before he could give Void an uppercut, the dark hero head-butted him, making him dizzy from the impact of the blow. "Haven't you ever heard of the old saying: Never judge a book by it's cover?"
Solar Flare was silent before replying: "Nope."
"Well, light doesn't always mean good and dark doesn't always mean evil!" said Void before giving him another punch to the stomach and face. "I'm afraid i'll have to send you to prison after all you've done." he was about to create a black hole to send the disilussioned narcissist to the stony lonesome, but Solar Flare is not going to go down without a fight. He created another flash of blinding light at Void and it was brighter than ever, almost as powerful as a flashbang that soldiers would use to neutralize enemies in a non-fatal way
By the time the three heroes regained their eyesight, Solar Flare was already sen flying away as a ray of light, almost like a meteorite about to hit the Earth. Void was about to fly after him, but was stopped by Lori.
"No, there'll literally be another time, Void."
"But what if he causes more suffering and vandalism like this?"
"The mayor will look into this." Lori said. "I know her and i know that she'll find a way to catcy Solar Flare, or die trying."
