Several days have passed, and life was going good for Lori as she was getting more and more used to her new fire powers. Yes, this new superhero life is really starting to grow on her like a new set of hair was growing to attract more boys than ever before. It really made her reborn into someone greater when she first got those powers from the tanning bed incident a while ago. Looking on her phone, Lori saw that she was still making some headlines on many pages, articles and social media sites from her newfound popularity, even if the majority of the city's population do not know Volcano Girl's real identity at all. Many teenage boys around her age were already giving Volcano Girls some heart and kissing emojis to show how beautiful she is to them.
Smiling at how much fans and admirers she has throughout her new career as a superhero, Lori was feeling very proud of herself for all she had accomplish.
Of course, never wanting to abandon her Bobby "Boo Boo Bear", Lori typed down on her phone some polite phrases like she already has the grewtest boyfriend in the world (though it was on her own backup account, which was under her superhero name for obvious reasons), leaving some of the teenage boys sad and heartbroken. But alas, it was a price to pay for Lori. Not all of the boys were heartbroken though, and they had no hard feelings to Lori.
Even Lori knew that every fandom has at least one toxic kind of fan, and there is nothing she could do about that. People are people after all.
Lincoln came out the backdoor and found Lori on her phone in the tire swing tied to the tree branch. "Hey Lori, ready for some more training?"
"I'm literally always ready, Lincoln." She boldly stated as she got out of the tire swing. "Come on, the dummies are ready to be demolished again. Wait, what about Void?"
"Sorry for being late, guys." Said a young Welsh voice. Speaking of the devil, Void came through the backdoor. Farley, his Bernese mountain dog was with him, wagging his tail and panting with his tongue out like any happy dog would do. "I was in the toilet and had a black cat stuck in the bell tower, if you know what i mean."
"I have no clue what that means." said Lori, "and i literally don't want to know. And, not that we're not happy to see him but... why did you bring Farley with you?"
"because he is the goodest boy anyone can ever ask for. Plus my parents are out looking for some jobs, and they didn't want Farley all alone in the house. But i promise you he won't be trouble. He always listens to me. Isn't that right, boy?" Void then knelt down and let the fluffy pooch went up to him for some kisses. "Yes, you're a good boy." Turning back to his new friends, he said: "how can anyone not like this kind of face anyhow?"
"Ah, you got us there." Lori smirked. "We have pets in the house too and we literally dealt with crazier things before. Besides facing the supervillains of course.
"So come on," Lincoln gestured his right hand. "We'll show you our cool headquarters."
"Lead the way, then." Void smiled. Following the other two heroes down to Lisa's bunker, where Lincoln put down the foolish password his little sister put up as her defense mechanism against intruders. Going down the ladder, Void looked around and said: "wow, you can use this against the undead, tornadoes, or hurricanes when necessary."
"Oh this is only the top part of it." Lori smiled. "Wait until you see what's below this part."
Operating the button to the floor elevator, the three went more underground and the interior of this one intrigued Void. "Now this is what i call a lair." He smiled.
Farley made a happy bark as he was sniffing and looking around the place curiously.
"Hey hey, don't pee over there!" Lincoln said to the dog.
"Ah, You are Void, am I correct?" Said a little girl's voice with a lisp.
"Aye. And you're Lisa?"
"Aye." The smart girl replied. "I know i am very young, but do not let me age deceive you. I am quite the inventor, a modern day Steven Hawking, Albert Einstein, or even Leonardo Da Vinci himself. I managed to build all of this by mysEEEE-" she was cut short when the fluffy dog decided to just knock her over and give her some affectionate licking, assault all over her face with his slobbery tongue. "Haha! Help! I'm being attacked!" Lisa laughed hysterically. "He is tickling me! Hahahaha!" Poor Lisa couldn't handle how ticklish this was, mostly because she is still four years old, adn kids like her are very ticklish.
"Farley! Farley!" Void had to intervene and pull him off of her. "Stop knocking people over like that! Ah, you're lucky you're so adorable." Looking at the smart sister, she smiled and wiped the slobber off of her face with a loin cloth, and then picked up her signature sunglasses that fell off from her face when Farley unexpectedly knocked her on the floor. "I'm very sorry about that, Lisa. Farley is very friendly, and... he can invade personal spaces. Typical for many dogs."
"No, it is quite alright. It will take a lot more than have an attention-seeking canine to rain on my parade. I have dealt with similar events with Charles before. Now let's get straight to business, shall we?" she clasped her hands together. "Void, i've been told about your powers about creating black holes in many surfaces against barbaric goons that try to stand in your way."
"You've been told right."
"Well, are there any other powers you have in your mental possession."
"Oh aye. I can also create waves of black darkness against enemies to knock them out cold, if they land hard enough against the floor, or the wall." Void proudly said.
"Perfect. You have come to the right place for training your dark powers and like one says: Practice makes perfect."
"Couldn't agree more. I have been a little... out of balance with my powers lately." he looked at his hands. "So yeah, i can use more practice to keep them in touch. Though can you keep Farley at a safe distance. I'd never forgive myself if anything bad happens to him."
"Not to worry, i can get my robots to keep him occupied." said Lisa
"Or, he can hang out with Charles." Lincoln pointed.
"That too." Lori agreed.
"Yeah, Farley could use another dog friend." said Farkle. "Very well."
So Lucy was asked to get the family dog down in the lair, and the two dogs were already mingling together, even roughhousing together as if they are already brothers. For that, Void can put his training to use without any interruptions. Concentrating on his powers, he focused a beam of darkness on a wave of running dummies who were running in a goofy fashion, and knocked them all back against the wall, blasting some of them to smithereens.
Lori and Lincoln were impressed by how he just annihilated some of those dummies and almost forgot about the dummies that were trying to attack them, but defended themselves at the last second. Void then use a portal to teleport some of the dummies into the backyard, leaving them confused at what just happened.
Lisa herself was impressed at how Void's powers are up close and personal (at a safe distance of course).
