The three heroes looked up to see a very familiar face on an ice slide he created, and it was none other than Snow Flaker himself. "Snow Flaker?" said all three superheroes in surprise.
"Did you all miss me?" said the ice-themed villain with a smug smile on his face.
"Uh, no!" Lori put her hands on her waist. "So you guys are literally working together now?" she hovered in the air to get at proper level and make better eye contact with the villains in the air. "Never thought you boneheads would be working together like this."
"We have a common enemy, Volcano Girl." said Solar Flare. At the same time, the two villains flatly said: "You." and pointed their fingers to her.
Looking angered and insulted to this response, Lori said: "Oh, well excuse me if I am literally trying to keep everything peaceful and every innocent person safe from evil like you villains!"
Void hovered and was right next to Lori to help her out. "Don't worry, Volcano Girl. There's three of us and only two of them. We can take 'em."
"I don't think you can count Laser Boy as a third one." said Solar Flare in a taunting voice. "He has no powers, just laser guns to back him up."
"easy Flare." said Flaker. "Do not underestimate the boy. He can do well in hand to hand combat. Overconfidence can get you killed, remember?"
"Right, right. Got it." then Solar Flare felt himself getting zapped by Laser Boy and landed on top of a nearby car, making the damaged vehicle set off its alarm in response. "Ow. That hurt."
"Still think i can't fight?" said Lincoln tauntingly. He was about to zap the light-themed villain for a second time, and then Solar Flare, but thenthe light-villain laid his left hand on his head.
"Grr, you'll pay for that!" Solar Flare immediately got angry and jumped off the car. "Lucky shot, but you're still a kid." He said as he tried landing punches at the boy.
Lincoln managed to dodge many punches from the pompous villain, and spat in Solar Flare's right eye to catch him off-guard
"gah! Little boy germs! I can't stand germs!" Flare shouted out loud. This gave Lincoln the perfect opportunity to punch and kick at the light-themed villain over and over again. But as soon as Solar Flare got his composure back, he grabbed Lincoln by the rigbt ankle witb his two hands, making Lincoln fall flat in his back.
As soon as the light villain was about to punch Lincoln with two hands, the white-haired boy kicked him in the face with his two feet, knocking him back.
Solar Flare was fast however, and gave Lincoln a knee-kick to the face, making Lincoln yelp in pain, then before the light villain could blast him away with his light powers, he felt his right torso being rammed by Void, and the dark hero stomped on his face so hard, it knocked him out cold.
Meanwhile, in the air, Lori and Snow Flaker were going all-out against one another. The ice villain was shooting beams of ice at Lori and the fire hero was firing blasts of flames right back at him. She saw a bunch of ice spikes come at her, snd she yelped, almost falling and catching off-guard from the surprise technique from Flaker.
"Nice try, Snow Boy!" Lori taunted before she felt herself being frozen by an oncoming ice beam, and made her plummet. Luckily, the fire-themed hero unthawed just before she coukd shatter from the impact, just a few inches above the ground. "Is that all you got?"
"Just die already, will you?" Said Flaker in frustration. "Stand still so i can at least freeze you to death!"
"No thanks, i literally love life." Then she gave Snow Flaker a painful punch to the face, landing on a dumpster.
As soon as both villains were subdued and tied in rope, the fire girl noticed blood coming out of her brother's nostrils. "Laser Boy!" She shrieked and rushed to his aid. "Are you ok?"
"Yeah, just a bonk on the nose." Lincoln covered it up with a tissue Lori gave her. "Nothing some ice can't help."
"Alright," said Void. "Who do you both work for?"
"We don't know what you mean." Said Solar Flare.
"Come on, those red soldiers that helped Snow Flaker couldn't have been sent without someone to oay them first." Lori crossed her arms. "Someone had to send them to help you out. Now," she grabbed Snow Flaker by the collor of his shirt, "who do you guys work for?"
Both villains were silent and Lincoln said: "i'd answer her if i were you. She'll just set your clothes on fire."
"Tell us, or else." Said Void
"Or else what?" Flare snapped.
"Then i guess i will have to burn your eyes out." Lori threatened. "You'll literally never see the light of say again."
"Whoa." said Void. "That's... that's really dark."
"You're bluffing." said Snow Flaker. "I am calling your bluff."
Lincoln then said: "I don't think she's bluffing."
Lori had to set fire to the right side of Snow Flaker's pants. It ovviously made him scared, along with Flare because he might burn to death with him.
"Alright! Barrymore! Christopher Barrymore!" Said the light villain in a panicked voice.
"Wait, the billionaire?" Said Lori
"Yes. He's the one who hired those soldiers to jill you all!"
"But... but why woukd he do that?" said Lincoln.
"I don't know, I didn't ask him."
After Volcano Girl extinguished rhe fire on Snow Flaker's pants, she said: "Are you telling the truth?"
"Unfortunately, yes." soad Snow Flaker. "He is not lying."
"This is very troubling." Siad Void. "I know he is very rich, but this?"
It was just then the police came and arrested rhe villains on the spot. "Chief," said Lori. "It's Christopher Barrymore that sent those mercenaries after us a couple of times before."
"What?" said the chief. "Thank you all for your help, as always. And i'll be sure to tell the mayor about what you just said, Volcano Girl. Good work."
"You're welcome, officers." Then the officers took the villains away.
The next day, around the neighborhood, Lori, Lincoln, and Farkle were looking for any danger that needed to be stopped after the crazy event that happened a few hours ago. So far, there is nothing to out a stop to, or someone to save from certain doom (not even in the most dangerous sorts of alleyways were filled with shady crime right now.
"Hmmm, maybe we should just call it a day for now." said Farkle. "We searched high and low for any evil to stop, and we found nothing that we can help out with."
"Some things can literally be well-hidden, Void." Said Lori, keeping her eyes peeled for any sudden danger. "It can be out of our eyes and ears." She peeped at a nearby dumpster and looked cautiously for something suspicious. "Ugh! Maybe not in here." She gagged before a couple of raccoons leaped out of the dumpster opening. "I literally doubt raccoons are criminals as they can be annoying pests."
"At least those ones don't have rabies." Lincoln shrugged. "Imagine a raccoon-themed villain or someone who turned into a 'were-raccoon", causing a rampage across the town."
Lori made a "Pfft!" sound before saying: "Li- i mean, Laser Boy, you've been watching too much monster and horror movies and it's not even Halloween yet."
"Well, at least i'm not Lu- i mean... a goth kid I know."
"Heh. Good point." Lori made a small chuckle. "I know you're not like Lucy so much. No one watches horror movies exactly like she does. Though i don't see any crime to bust either."
"Maybe it will come to us by surprise." said Void. "Good thing Farley is back in your place. He and Charles seem like brothers by how they're playing together. It's as if... they're littermates that are inseparable at birth."
"I know." Lincoln said. "You should have seen them before we stepped out the door."
"They looked so cute together when they were cuddling." Lori added with a smile. "Good thing i got it on camera. Wait until all my friends see it on social media."
"Ooh, make sure it's your... other account, Volcano Girl." Lincoln pointed
"Aye, don't wanna accidentally reveal yourself, don't you." he took a bite of his chocolate bar that he was saving from yesterday. "One wrong word, and it can spread like wildfire, or a cold winter day in downtown Cardiff." then he took another bite of his candy. So far, everything is going as peaceful as ever, and the three were about to head back to do some more training, then suddenly - as soon as everything looked dandy, there was the sound of some explosion in a far distance. That definitely did not sound good.
