In the middle of the night, Lori was in the underground bunker practicing her fire powers with some leftover dummies, and she was in her black unitard instead of her pajamas, but no gloves. As usual, Polluter was watching her practice her powers, and, occassionally, heckling her for her so-called "Bad performances" in using her waves of fire against some of the dummies, and using her athletic skills to do backflips, and sommersaults as dodges. "Ooh, not bad, cheer captain! Ha! That's probably the only kind of bright future you have right now."
Unfortunately, there wasn't the mute control that Lori can use on him. It was kept with Lisa, who was sleeping peacefully in her bed. So Lori had to content with Polluter's obnoxious remarks. "Can you do anything besides insult me over and over again?"
"Let me out of this container, and you'll find out soon enough." Polluter flatly replied.
"You and I literally both know the answer to that, Polluter. Never. Gonna. Happen."
Then the toxic villain cursed to himself and sat down in his pod in defeat with his arms crossed. Then a new idea came to his head. "I'll give ya one million dollars if you let me out."
Lori let out a small chuckle. "You don't have a million dollars."
"Yes i do. In my bank account" Polluter lied. "Just let me out and i'll give ya the money."
"Polluter. You and i both know that I, in a million years, that i would never let you out. I am a good person. A hero, and you are a villain. Not for hundreds of dollars, not for thousands of dollars, not even for literally one million dollars."
"Huh. You're a Goody Two-Shoes, i get it already." The toxic villain rolled his eyes. "People like you are really hard to fool."
Lori looked slightly mad at that remark, but shrugged it off, being so used to the obnoxious villain's petty insults like this. "Whatever." She said. Then she went back to work at bettering the use of her powers and heroic abilities.
She was caught off-guard when she heard yet another familiar voice. "Lori?" It spooked the fire girl, and it made her throw a fireball at whoever it eas. She thought it was an enemy trying to "sneak attack" her from behind. However, it was just Lincoln, spooked at what happened, and saw a burn mark near him in the right side of the floor.
"Oh my gosh, Lincoln!" Lori said in complete shock. "I am so so sorry! Did I hurt you?"
"Nope. We would know if you burn me to a crisp. What are you doing here, Lori?"
"Just thought i would try and get better and better with my powers."
"Don't you do that during yoyr training hours?"
"Yeah, but... there are more villains coming. If there are more villains coming, then that means it will get more dangerous for Royal Woods. Who knows how many more villains will come out of the blue? Just literally take a look at that crazy Circus Freak from earlier!"
"But there is another superhero too, remember? Farley. He's probably more powerful than any of us combined."
"Kid's not wrong." said Polluter. "That pooch can make the ground shake if he wanted to."
"Mind your business!" Said both siblings to the toxic supervillain.
"Come on Lori, you should go back to skeep. It's one at night and we got a big day at the comic book convention."
Lori let out a sigh before replying: "you're right, Lincoln. Don't want to keep my fans waiting, and look all tired tomorrow." Then they both went upstairs to continue their sleep.
The Next Morning
Today's the big day. The Royal Woods Comic Book Convention was a go. Both hero siblings got themselves ready for the day by bathing and putting on their hero outfits for the fans to look at them, and so their secret identities wouldn't be revealed to the whole public. their father was the one to drive them both to the convention center, and he told the kids to have a nice day at the convention. As the father drove off, he began sobbing uncontrollably in happiness in Vanzilla. "My kids are superheroes! This is the happiest day of my life!" Lynn Sr blew into a tissue after as he was sobbing some more. He wasn't even paying attention to the driving people that ht almost crashed into.
The convention looked pretty big and there were merchandise from many fandoms. Including Ace Savvy and David Steele. "Hey! Guys!" said a very familiar Welsh voice. Looking over to the direction, it was, indeed, Void and Ghost Dog, looking happy to see their super-cohorts. "Glad you made it."
"Same for you guys." Lori said with a smile and one hand on a hip.
"Zis should be an interesting time for us." said Ghost Dog with an eager smile on his scary face. "Signing autographs and getting pictures with our fans. Very fun." Speaking of the devil, he saw a couple of kids in costumes, coming to meet the heroes. There were about five of them coming to meet them
"There he is!" said one of the kids. "It's Ghost Dog."
Before he knew it, the mutant dog was being petted all around and one of the children even hugged him by the neck. The Bernese felt his canine instincts kicking in within himself and laid on the ground, on his left side. "Oh yeah. Zat feels nice." he said like he was being massaged.
"Some instincts are too strong to control." said Lori with a smirk
"Can one of you rub my belly, s'il vous plait?" Ghost Dog requested. Just like that, all four of the kids began rubbing and scratching his belly, making him sigh and give a few pants of relaxation. "Yes, right there. Lower, lower. Ah! That his the spot."
