It was a normal day in Penglai, the solarians were going about their day. Some were going to school, some were going to work, others were going about their lives with joy. There was one solarian that stood out, a rather short one to be exact. He wore an oversized yellow robe with a special black nano bodysuit. His chest had a jade ring core which acted as his heart.
This specific solarian was named Yi, a genius Tao Alchemist with cream-colored fur. He was a prideful person with an interest in science which made him a bit stubborn and impulsive. What makes him different for the other solarians is that he was a member of the Tiandao council or otherwise known as the Ten Sols(in this universe, because the Tianhuo virus didnt exist, Eigong and the other sols didn't betray him so he remained in the Council of the Ten Sols.) a council made by the founder Eigong which comprises of the most brilliant of solarians. Each sol is in charge of their own district and tenets.
He was walking to the Tiandao headquarters to conduct some experiments to create devices with the purpose of benefiting the solarian population.Walking up to the Entrance, Yi showed his sol seal to the scanner of the High tech doors at the entrance. He walked through the entrance before the doors before it closed to prevent intruders to enter.
Yi began walking down the hallways of the the headquarters to find his Lab.Suddenly he was knocked over by someone.
"Oof," Yi said as he hit the floor, "what the hell?"
He looked up to find Goumang ,another member of the Tiandao council, standing over him and scowling at him.
"Watch where you're going you runt."She said rudely
Yi sighed,"I was looking forward when i was walking, this can't possibly be my fault!"
"You should be more careful then!" Goumang replied, "I can't believe you're Eigongs favourite student."
"What?" Yi asked,"Im not-"
Goumang walked away before Yi could finish his defense.
"Damnit" Yi said annoyed.
"Do you need any help?" A voice behind him aked
Yi turned around to find Lady Ethereal, also another member of the the Tiandao Council, reaching out her hand for him offering help.
"Thanks for the offer but i'm fine," Yi said while standing, "I just wish she would stop this type of behaviour towards me, i have been trying to be a kind junior, but she just doesn't care."
"Don't despair Yi," Lady Ethereal said comforting Yi," She just needs a bit more time to grow to respect you."
"That could be a few centuries at least."Yi said doubly, "Thanks anyways."
"If you dont mind, im off to my lab. I have a project to complete."
"Oh, of course,go ahead."Lady Ethereal permitted.
Yi began to walk once again to his Lab.
When he arrived, He did an eyescan on a scanner to open the lab doors. The doors slided open revealing a room filled with devices, chemical equipment and a testing chamber.
Yi entered the lab and approached the testing chanber. There, An object was covered by a giant cloth. Yi uncovered the cloth revealing a machine.
Yi had been working on this Machine for the past few weeks before. This machine, was a cloning machine.
The idea was that the cloning machine can be used to replicate anything(duh) such as food and resources.Yi really wanted to complete building this machine so that it can be used to benefit all solarians. Yi considered about using the machine to clone living organisms, but scrapped the idea as the results will be unpredictable.
Yi began working on the Machine using the blueprints and designs he had drawn out.
After several hours of making theories and building the machine using science and alchemy He had completed the machine using a power source from Taoist Alchemy. It was a glowing crystal he had created with the symbol of reproduction(乃). There were two chambers with glass doors, imput and output, one for the machine to scan and get the idea of the it will clone. And the other where the machine will replicate the object.
As a scientist, Yi knew he had to test the machine first to see if it will work to check for errors and mistakes.
He grabbed a data holder and place it in the input chamber. Feeling the weight of an object in the input chmaber the glass machine activated . The machine began to scan the data holder in the imput chamber and began to make some noise. A bright green light began to emmit from the machine, then there was steam. The output chamber opened it glass door. Yi looked at the output chamber, waiting for the steam to fade. There he found the exact same data holder. He checked to see if the data holder in the input chamber. It was there. He then grabbed the data holder from the output chamber and examined it. It had the exact details of the original one and not only that, it also contained the same data.
Pride began to fill Yi. He had created an gamechanging innovative invention. His mind began to imagine seeing people praise him for his genius, earning the respect of orher sols, including Goumang.
Yi turned tiwards the door if the tesing chamber excited to call a meeting and tell the other sols of his invention.
Unfortunately, due to his pride, Yi was a but less careful of his surroundings than he usually is.Which caused him to not notice the big cloth that he used to cover the machine and slip on in.This caused him to fall right inside the input chamber perfectly.
Apparently, Yi hadn't considered the fact that Small organisms like children or short people(like him) could accidentally enter the input chamber. Especially when it is pressure activated from the input chamber. Now Yi considered it as the chmaber closed its glass door as the pressure plate felt his weight and closed the glass door.
Yi tried to break the glass, but failed as he had made it too strong so that it could withstand the pressure of the light from the chamber.
The machine activated and began to scan Yi. Then began the cloning process. Yi kept desperately trying to break out fearing that he would suffer from side effects that th emachibe might cause to organisms.
The machine begain to make noise fir a few seconds, then the chambers emmited the bright green lights.
The machine then shut down as the glass doors of both chambers opened releasing steam and Yi.
Yi began checking around his body for anything unusual. Suprisingly, there were none.
Yi began to sigh in relief."Thank goodness i carefully made the machine harmless to living organisms."
He then came to realise something.
"Wait," he said slapping his head," Even if i died, i would still be revived by the primordial roots."
He got up and checked the machine. It was busted as Yi designed it to clone inanimate objects and not living organisms.
Yi sighed in disappointment. He had ruined his mangnum opus of an invention. It would take months or even years to repair it. But he was mostly concerned that if the other Sols had found out, he would be humiliated.
While Yi was thinking about his despair. He saw movement from the cloth that he slipped on.
His focused was switched to the cloth, he began to appoach it cautiously.Apparently there was something under the cloth. He carefully uncovered the cloth to see what was under it. To his surprise, it was a small infant at least 1 year old. More shockingly, the infant looked like Yi.
"What the..?" Yi said dumbfounded.
To be continued...
