After driving for some time, Zane and Ava had found themselves boarding a subway cart, traveling through the darkness of the underground.
Both felt nervous about what was to come and if perhaps they had somehow been found out.
Ava had almost had a heart attack when they seemed to be about to crash into another cart, until the last second when they headed into a secret passage.
'These people are nuts!' she panted as she tried to calm her heart rate.
Zane worried for her but didn't reach out, for all any of the SOG members knew they didn't know each other.
They finally stopped and Ultra Violet said "It's time you two meet The Big Man."
"The Big Man?" Zane asked, worriedly.
Ava sighed and took on her persona once more as she nudged his arm and said "You're blocking the way." and got down.
Violet laughed at this as they looked at a door that would lead them to the SOG base.
They were soon grabbed and shoved towards the door, E with Zane and UV with her.
Zane stumbled as Ava glared as they were being shoved through.
Soon they entered what looked like a wreck room and were shoved to the floor.
Ava growled at the two as Zane just looked up and at a small looking man who growled at them.
"Um…" Zane started. "So you're The Big Man?"
'I'm not sure but you never know?' Ava knew never to judge appearances.
Suddenly someone called out "And you're the scum who saved Mr.E."
They looked back to see a huge man sitting in the dark, Ava felt shocked but remembered to keep in her character.
"Hey, I'm here too!" she shouted.
Everyone looked back at her in shock but the man laughed as he said "That one's got spunk!"
Both of them stood up.
"So they call you Rave…With the way you get a party started I can understand. But what about you, what sort of name is Snake Jaguar?" the big guy asked.
Zane went up and said "The sort that can put you on your backside if you have to ask?"
'Nice one Zane, really getting into character?' Ava smirked.
The large man rushed up to Zane and roared in his face, but Zane never flinched as everyone froze but Zane then growled back.
The large man then laughed.
"So you're in charge of the Sons of Garmadon?" Zane asked.
The man then laughed and then said "He thinks I'm in charge."
At that everyone else laughed.
Ava looked on, it wouldn't be wrong to assume, but from the looks of it he was more the muscle of the group.
"I'm Kilo." He pats Zane's back "It's my job to decide who's in and who's out."
'So we gotta impress this guy, how?' Ava frowns.
"You wanna know more about us, first you gotta become one of us. And to be a Sone of Garmadon, you first have to ride with us. So what do you say, boy's and girls? Shall we take them to the teeth!"
At this everyone began to cheer 'teeth.'
'Yeah, sounds spiky.' Ava imagined something like a cave or gorge with spiky rocks.
"Eyes forward weirdo!" UV scolded Zane after staring at her too long.
"What is, the teeth?" Zane asked.
"Probably somewhere pointy and dangerous." Ava replied.
"Like I said: You want answers, first you have to ride." Kilo said.
"Ha they don't have bikes." Violet smirked.
Everyone laughs as Kilo says "You two wanna join a motorcycle gang and you have no bikes?"
Everyone booed at them, time to make an excuse.
"I rammed it right down those Ninja's throats. They had it coming." Zane crossed his arms proudly.
As everyone cheered Kilo asked, "And your excuse?"
"No cash and stealing a bike without knowing if it belonged to the SOG would be suicide." Ava replied.
The other laughed as Kilo said "You got that right. You two can borrow bikes, Snake you use Ultra Violets."
Violet complained but Kilo began to whisper something to her.
Something about a quiet one, Zane looked curious as well.
Ninjago
After a little while the bikers stopped keeping an eye on them and they decided to sneak off to find Cole.
As they approached the cells, Ava hid in the pipes on the ceiling while Zane used Ultra Violet as a disguise to get the guards to leave.
They left in fear and as Zane came up to Cole "I ain't in the mood, sunshine."
After making sure that no one was around Zane brought his true form out as Ava jumped down.
"Zane, Ava!"
Both shushed him.
"You want them to find us?" Ava frowned, still looking around.
"Ho, ho. Aren't you guys a sight for sore eyes!" Cole went on.
"Did they hurt your eyes?" Zane looked worried.
"It means he missed us." Ava smiled.
"Well yes. No. What she said. Just get me outta here." Cole begged.
Cole then explained about a key to the third mask, and bringing the bad Garmadon back.
"How is that even possible?" Ava's eyes widened.
"Hutchines did say the mask had unlimited powers together they must be able to do something like that." Zane thinks.
"We need to get that key and get outta here!"
"He's right this is too dangerous." Ava frowns.
Zane looked away though "Um…."
"Well what are you waiting for? Unlock the door, let's go."
Ava sighed "The race."
"What race?" Cole asked.
"We need to ride with them to learn who's behind all this." Zane replied.
"They're gonna get all the masks! Who cares who's in charge." Cole glares.
"Actually it's really important, if we know our enemy we can better predict them. But Cole's right we need the masks. You go on the ride, I'll stay back and try to steal that key." Ava frowns.
"You cannot, if you try you may put my own mission at stake." Zane replies.
"Sigh, that is a problem. Oh and next time maybe you could tell us about your plan beforehand." Ava glared.
"I apologize I needed it to be convincing." Zane replied.
"Are you saying I'm a bad actor?" Cole glared.
"When the station clears, break out. Break out and steal the key." Zane tells him.
Suddenly they heard Ultra Violet, "What do you mean I just walked past here? Get your eyes fixed."
"There's no room for both of us to sneak out." Zane eyes widened.
"Get your disguise on." Ava said quickly.
"But she will be suspicious." Zane looked surprised.
"We trusted you, now trust me." Ava replied.
He nodded and turned to Snake Jaguar again, suddenly Ava slammed him into the wall.
As Ultra Violet came she said "What's going on!"
What Violet was seeing was Snake and Rave making out.
Ava pulled back saying "Sorry, guess there's no privacy here." she smirked like crazy.
"Ack, why would you kiss this weirdo?"
"I like 'em weird." she smirked again.
"Yeah, guess I can see that. But why here!" she glared.
"Thought we torture the Ninja a little." Ava cackles.
"Ugh, I'm definitely sick." Cole pretends.
"You and me both, get out of here!" she yells at them as they head off.
Once far enough away Zane asked "How did you do that, you made it look like you were kissing me without really doing so."
"It's called a stage kiss, my friend taught it to me. You just put a thumb to the mouth and kiss that and no one will tell the difference." Ava explains.
"That is quite clever." Zane smiles.
"Thank you, thank you. I'm here all week." She play bows as Zane chuckles.
Then Ava frowned, "What is it?" Zane asked.
"I don't know how to ride a bike."
"That is a problem." Zane looked worried.
"Maybe if I fake an injury I can help Cole escape. Or I could use my powers to help keep me balanced like before." Ava thinks.
"I would rather you take part in the race, who knows what they do to those that do not finish their ride." Zane frowns.
"Guess your right." Ava nods.
With that they headed off, it was time to ride.
Ninjago
Everyone was lined up, ready to go. Ava was nervous about riding but she hoped her powers would keep her up and safe as she rode.
Kilo rode up next to them and said "You know the rules when you ride with us?"
"Let me guess: there are no rules?" Zane replied.
Ava laughed thinking 'Typical.'
"Well, that was no fun was it." Kilo replied.
Ultra Violet then shouted "Ride or die!" and as her scarf hit the ground they flew off, at least the SOG did.
Zane and Ava had trouble getting the bikes started but were soon off.
The wind swirled around her and took advantage, it didn't take long for the two Ninja to get to the front.
Zane from past experience and Ava with her powers, but suddenly "Hey!" Ava yelled as she felt someone smash into her.
'They did say no rules.' Ava glared as she used the wind to help buffer any attacks.
One good thing about her powers was that they were nearly invisible to the naked eye so she could use them without others noticing.
That was till "I see you ninja!"
Had someone figured them out?
She saw Zane being attacked and soon someone was coming after her as well.
'Covers blown!'
She strengthened her shield and bounced off a few SOG members.
A train ended up coming at them and both dodged, Zane taking a rail up while she used her powers to levitate her to the top of it and flattened herself.
She decided to leave the bike and take a different approach.
The SOG member sighed at not being run over but soon fell over as Ava rushed past at windwiping speeds.
"Wough!"
"Urgg, I'll get yo ninja!"
"Not likely!" she called as she rushed up the ramp Zane had gone through and headed into the city.
'There they are!' she spotted as she raced after them.
She was able to run up beside Zane and called, "Looks like they figured us out!"
"Indeed, but I have the mask of deception in my sights. Pixal is sending a picture to the others now. Do you think you can capture it?"
"I can try." With that she tried to race faster as Zane told the ninja what he knew.
Ava was catching up 'Just a bit more.'
She put her hand out as she tried to grab the mask, but Kilo tried to swat her away, making her pull back.
She growled as she tried to catch up once more, she saw traffic coming, 'This should slow them down.'
She ran between the cars and kept on them, as she kept trying to get closer an SOG member tried to swat her away forcing her to dodge and slow down.
'I have to get that mask!' She tried once more to get through but Kilo's fist flew out and knocked her on her back.
She curled up in pain and yelled, her body was stinging.
"Ava!" Zane rode over in a new set of wheels but, "Keep going…" she groaned.
He looked uncertain but nodded as he rode off but not before telling Nya where she was.
Ava was picked up promptly and Nya worked on her wounds as fast as she could while still keeping an eye on Zane.
"Are you okay?" asked Harumi.
"No, it stings so bad." Ava flinched as she curled up.
"She hit her back, her face took a serious blow too?" Nya frowned.
"It felt like hitting a brick wall." Ava cried.
"Harumi, can you watch her while I monitor Zane?" Nya asked.
"Of course." Harumi nodded and headed up to Ava "Just keep the ice on your face…" she tried to grab Ava's hand but she pulled back.
"Don't touch, not now!"
Harumi pulled away, confused.
It's not that Ava was trying to be mean but right now she was in pain and didn't want someone unfamiliar touching her.
Not only that, she felt severely ashamed for failing.
