"He needs a name." Jay suddenly spoke as they rode on their way to Ninjago.
"Oh I hadn't thought of that, we can't just keep calling him, well…him." Ava replied.
"What do you think we should call him little Wu?" Cole asks.
"Crabby!" the baby giggled.
The other chuckled as Ava said "It's sounds perfect. Crabby it is." She pets his head, making the new dubbed Crabby wag his tail.
"Ava we have not had time to discuss our theory with the others." Zane spoke up.
"Right, guys Zane found that the masks react to the emotions of the user." Ava replied.
"What do you mean?" Kai asks.
"Hatred, revenge, deceit, each of these emotions are needed for each mask to be used and can even amplify the power of the masks." Zane replied.
"Wough, so you're saying the mask that each of the SOG members use has to do with whether or not they feel the same way as the mask?" Cole askes.
"Exactly!" Ava nods.
"Well it does make sense, from what we heard Kilos a deceiver, Harurmi hates us, Ultra Violet hates everyone and…..I'm not sure about Mr.E." Jay tilts his head.
"He is a nindroid."
"What!" they all asked shocked.
Zane brought them up to speed on what they knew as they did the same for him.
"Wasn't there a bunch of evil nindroid running around when Ninjago City went full tech?" Ava asked.
"Yeah, maybe one of those nindroids survived and is looking for revenge on Zane!" Jay exclaims.
"It is a possibility." Zane nods, a bit worried, but somehow it didn't seem to fit.
"But how can we use what we know to our advantage?" Nya looked thoughtful.
"I don't know, I just figured out why not how to use it against. Maybe overloading their emotions?" Ava shrugs.
"No, it doesn't seem like that would work. In fact that might just make them stronger." Kai frowns.
"Then I'm out of ideas." Ava sighs.
"It's okay we're glad you thought of it in the first place, you sure seem to have a lot of ideas." Nya smirks.
"Oh I'm pretty creative especially when it comes to things I find interesting. Part of my autism." Ava replied.
The other looked curious.
"You are on the spectrum?" Zaen asks.
"Yeah, usually I tell people right away so they know what to expect, but with all the craziness there wasn't really time." Ava replies.
"Why would you have to tell people?" Kai asks.
"So they don't get offended and stuff, sometimes to help them understand why I do the things I do or why I may need to do something." Ava explains.
"Well just know we won't judge you or anything like that, and if you need something just ask us." Cole smiles.
"Thanks guys, that makes me feel better." Ava smiled, she was glad they took it in comfortably and in a polite way.
Most people would say something they didn't think was offensive but was, or pity, or even treat her like a child, it was pretty annoying.
Here, she felt like an equal.
"I have heard those on the spectrum tend to remember much of the things they quite like. I have not exactly had the chance to ask you what things you actually like?" Zane asks.
"Oh,well I like science, history, and reading. I like music but I can't play it or read notes, and I love biology, that's the kind of science I like concentrating on the most." Ava explains.
"Is that how you were able to remember about the jasmine flowers' soothing effect?" Zane smiled, curiously.
"Yeah and other reasons." Ava flushed as it wasn't just her love of science that helped her remember these things but sometimes a significant event or person.
The image of Zane giving her the flower and his explanation wouldn't leave her mind.
'I'm so obvious.' she panicked.
"What about the whole oni mask emotion idea?" Jay asks.
"I'm a curious person, sometimes I don't know what's gonna catch my interest but I think I only decided to put that all together because I thought it would give us an advantage." Ava replied.
"Makes sense." Cole nods.
With that they continued their ride, trying to come up with ideas on how to finally defeat the SOG and save Lloyd.
Ninjago
It had been weird walking through the city atop of Crabby but also kind of funny, but she did feel bad for some of the pedestrians who looked on with shock.
'Oh well no time, we have to hurry.'
They had finally made it to their destination, the police station.
"Is the police commissioner here?" Kai asked the officer.
The poor guy just nodded in shock.
Zane came up to the man and said "Don't forget, the best way to defeat an enemy is to make him your friend."
"Not to mention give him lots of snacks, he likes fruit." Ava replied as they discovered this on their way.
"Aren't you Crabby." Jay cuddles him as Wu calls out "Crabby!"
Crabby roared his approval as the officer called while they headed in "Hey, what am I supposed to do with him?"
"Take him to the zoo." Nya replied.
"We don't have a zoo!" Ava hearheard and headed out saying "Take him to the beach then, one that no one goes to, he'll be happy there."
"Oh ugh, okay." the officer replied and she headed back to catch up with the others.
As they got to the commissioner's office an officer tried to stop them and Kai said "We need the Commissioner!"
"He's not taking any visitors!" he replied.
"But it's important." Kai replied.
"Ninjago's at stake, again." Ava sighs.
"All his work is important and Ninjago being at stake is a regular tuesday." he frowned.
"Don't make me zap you." Jay threatened as his powers activated, with that the man was out cold.
At this they rushed in, everyone talking at once trying to explain the situation and what to do.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. One at a time." the Commissioner replied. "Just shoot it to me strait. What gonna do me in?" he asked.
"Pardon? Do you in?" Pixal asks.
"Um we're kinda hoping no one dies in this." Ava frowns.
"Everytime something bad happens to the city, first thing they do is can the Police commissioner."
"Maybe if you guys would actually take part in helping once in a while." Ava frowns, what did he expect, the police never got involved when things got super serious.
"So what is it this time? Subterranean mutant instincts? Indomitable flesh eating zombies? A pirate genie?"
"Pirate genie?" Cole asked.
"Yes, why not? Anything can happen in this crazy town." the Commissioner asked.
"He's got a point on that." Ava frowns, this place got the weirdest things at times.
"Ah don't be ridiculous it's the Sons of Garmadon!" Jay exclaims.
They then explain the whole situation to him and how they need him and everyone on the force.
With that he called the mayor, they put him on hold but with this they could start a plan.
"Where would Harumi go to bring back Garmadon anyway?" Ava asks.
"Perhaps the palace." Zane replies.
"Isn't it a bit too obvious?" Jay asks.
"But she also knows the place better than any of us. She'll know how to go about and keep the palace guarded." Nya frowned.
"We could ask Hutchins about it." Ava reminded.
"Wait, he's alive?" Commissioner asked as he still waited.
"Along with the emperor and empress." Cole nodded.
"Ava was able to get them to safety during the battle." Zane replied.
Ava flushed and said "I just helped clear the way." She wasn't used to this kind of praise and wasn't sure she'd ever get used to it.
"That be helpfully, but if Harumi figures it out she may try to track us to them." Nya frowns.
"What if she already tries to attack them?" Kai asks.
"She'd already have sent someone if she knew where they were, I think." Ava frowns.
"No you got a point, leave them for now. We don't wanna risk anything." Cole replied.
"Yes, Mayor it's the Commissioner."
They looked over eagerly, after he explained and a couple of other yes and nos and other stuff he hung up and said.
"We got approval, all units are heading back so we can come up with a plan." Commissioner explains.
They cheered as he then asked "Now what's the plan?"
With that they got to work on their plan, first they needed to know for sure where the SOG where.
Pixal figured that out by using the city's cameras which were all Borg installed.
It seems they were heading to the palace, like they had thought.
"But why there?" Kai asked.
"I believe I saw a temple of sorts when we were visiting, perhaps she needs it for her plan." Zane replied.
After that they got their heads together on what to do next and soon they were ready to head out.
Ninjago
Kai was on the roof of the city as he called through his com "We were right. The streets are teaming with SOG. They don't want anyone getting close to the palace."
"They don't want any heroes in case someone gets an idea." Ava frowns.
The SOG used fear as their strategy to keep people in line and their plans in place, problem was, not everyone could be intimidated.
"We are in place." Zane spoke up. " Operation UnderCover initiated."
"Copy that." Kai replied.
With that they all headed to meet up, Ava had a hard time keeping hidden as she saw the way the SOG bullied the citizens.
Zane heard her growl of frustration and said "I know you wish to help but we must not be seen."
"Sigh, I know I'm just frustrated. The SOG use fear to keep people in line and it irks me. Especially when I can't do anything." Ava frowns.
Zane held her hand, surprising her as he said "We are doing something and soon everyone will be safe."
Ava looked into his beautiful icey blue eyes, her heart speeding up till their coms went off. "Guys hurry up." Jay called.
Boht jumped apart as Zane replied "On our way."
With that, both rushed off.
As they arrived and waited, their plan started, the police came and began their distraction.
"You wanted a distraction, you got one. Now save the city, Ninja." the Commissioner called.
With that they got their air tanks and flippers on, while waiting for Kai.
As they waited, Ava was a little anxious and maybe distracted from before.
Nya came up asking "You okay?"
"Yeah, just nervous." Ava replied.
"Hey, you'll be fine. You've done great so far." Nya smirks.
"Yeah, guess everything's just finally crashing down. HOpe I can keep stable." Ava frowns.
"Hey we're here for you if you need us. Just say the word." Jay smiles.
"Thanks." Ava smiled a bit. She could do this, she's done everything she could so far, she had to finish this, no she wanted to finish this.
'We need to stop them, we can't let anyone else get hurt.' she glared as she prepared to dive.
Once in the water they held onto the small sub and Kai said "Hold on. And for the record, I was telling that to the others, not myself."
'What?' Ava thought, but didn't have much time to think on it as she had to grab on rightly to the sub as it revved up.
Ninjago
They had finally entered the palace, now they had to make it to the temple without being seen.
As they sneaked around they had to deal with a guard, and a very familiar one.
'Luke Cunninghame.' she glared.
Nya was gonna get him but she held her hand up, and headed over.
As he came to call in the tanks, she snuck behind him and covered his mouth as she whispered "Remember me."
He mumbled 'Sweetness.' she growled and knocked him out and then hid him in the bush.
Nya and her then overheard some SOG members.
Mohawk said "I can't believe we're stuck in footpatrol duty. We're missing all the good stuff."
Nya waved the other over at this as she kept an eye on the guards.
The others were able to move about as the guards talked on.
Soon they were all on the roof of the palace sneaking and taking out guards as they went, until they finally reached the temple and raced up the stairs.
The two guards that were supposed to keep an eye out for them instead looking inside at the ritual.
"Wow….That's awesome." one said.
'Idiots.' Ava frowned but at least it made it easier when they snuck up on them and took them out.
After that, they looked in on the situation, Harumi was opening up a weird portal with the masks and saying weird words.
'Ah I hate creepy junk like this.' Ava thought.
Then they heard it "Who…calls me?"
Jay gasped and whispered "Did you hear that?"
"I wish I hadn't." Ava's jaw dropped. She really hated this creepy stuff.
"That sounded like Garmadon." Cole replied.
"We gotta do something. Fast." Nya added.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Kai asked as they rushed in.
And with that the battle began, Ava brought out her kunai and swung it at several enemies.
Lloyd called out to them but they couldn't hear him, the wind was too strong.
'Maybe if I try to stop this wind…'
She tried to take control but it was no use, it was like an opposing force that didn't connect to her element at all.
'It's like it's too corrupted for me to connect with.' Her eyes widened, not knowing such a thing could exist.
She then saw Lloyd being pulled down "NO!" and headed over to help Kai and Jay.
As they fought it seemed the ceremony was almost complete.
"We have to stop her!" Kai called.
"Or maybe we should save our friend from drowning!" Jay exclaimed.
"We can do both!" Ava shouted as she rushed in to fight Harumi but she was blocked by Kilo.
"Not a chance girly." Kilo laughed.
"I owe you for the slap." Ava growled as she ran about, jumping and hitting him, Kilo was big but he was slow giving her the advantage she needed.
And giving Cole a chance to try and save Lloyd.
"Yes!" she exclaimed, as she pulled back from Kilo.
But as Lloyd went up, his mother went down.
"Oh no." Ava gasped as she tried to stop it but UV got in her way.
"Nuh ugh, hahahaha!"
"Move!" she yelled as she tried to fight her but she got past as she and Cole fought over the lever, she got pushed back by other SOG members.
As they finally got Lloyd out of the cage and his mom wasn't in a threat to fall, Ava was able to get over to the other cage and use her kunai to lock pick it and bring her down.
"Thank you, you're new." Miskao smiled.
"Ava, Ma'am. get to safety."
Misako nodded as she headed for the door, she stood on the other side, waiting for the battle to stop.
But at this, things began to get crazy, Lloyd couldn't get through, none of them could. And the portal was almost finished as they heard the sinister laughter on the other side and things started to fall through.
'We have to stop this!' Ava thought. The wind was her element and now she had to stop it, by fighting against it.
She then saw it, the others began to do spinjitzu, even Jay after he shocked Kilo.
"Ava we need you!" Kai called.
"I…I've never done it in a team!" she called, she was afraid she'd mess them up.
"You can do it!" Jay called.
"We're right here!" Cole added.
"We trust you Ava." Zane finally called.
Those words entered her and Ava took a breath in and spun, her spinjitzu started slow then grew and finally combined with the others to help Lloyd gert to Harumi and stop the ritual.
"No!" Harumi yelled in despair as the portal closed and finally disappeared, the ritual ending as a failure.
Lloyd looked down sadly as he said "Father…"
Ava looked on sadly, she couldn't imagine how hard this was for Lloyd.
She came up and patted his back "I don't believe that was your true father. Just Harumi's twisted version of him."
Lloyd looked over and nodded, but still seemed uncertain as he looked at Harumi.
She glared at the girl, all this and for what?
The police finally arrived and arrested the SOG members as Cole and Jay brought down Kilo, Ava used her powers to keep pressure on him till they got the cuffs on him.
Once that was done Kai said "We did it."
Everyone began to cheer and celebrate, Ava and Zane so excited they accidentally hugged.
The two flushed as they pulled away and Ava said "So it's finally over."
"Indeed it is." Zane smiled.
"That's good, I need a long nap after all this." Ava sighs.
"I believe we've all earned some rest." Zane chuckled.
"Hey, let's make sure the job is finished." Coel smirked as everyone nodded.
They all nodded, it was time to see them all dragged away.
As they came out of the palace the police cheered after putting the SOG members in their cars.
It felt so strange, but good, it made something within her swell. Pride for doing a good job.
"Is it always like this?" she asked Zane.
"Not always but sometimes, yes." Zane nods.
As they came down and got congratulated she saw Lloyd talking to Harumi.
'That brat better not be trying to hurt him anymore.' she glared as she headed over, she wanted to give her a piece of her mind but it seemed had already done so as she was driven off.
Once gone she held his shoulder and said "I know it's not the best question but….you okay?"
"I'm…getting there." he looked away.
"Hey, don't let what she did affect you. Be more cautious but never stop trusting. If you hadn't, you would have never tried to teach me." she smiled.
Lloyd looked over smiling and said "Yeah, thanks for that."
"Heya, you're my teacher and like a little brother to me." she messes with his hair, making him chuckle lightly.
He still looked down and she said "Time will help, and one day you'll barely even notice it was there."
"I hope, you're right." Lloyd sighed as he walked off.
Ava sighed, she wished she could do more for him, but she was tired and she needed rest now. Her body was starting to sway.
"Ava, are you okay?" Zane asked.
"The adrenaline wore off, and I need to sit." Ava sighs.
Zane nodded, and with that they headquarter to rest, Zane helping to make sure she didn't fall in her dizzy state.
