Author's Note: And, here we are with the "That's How You Know" musical number!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I had half of this chapter written after writing the rest of chapter 11. And then, I finally got around to writing the rest of this current chapter, prior to Thanksgiving.

Thank you to retro mania, The Blazzore, Sarah West 94402343(your story idea for The Great Mouse Detective, Enchanted & Miami Vice crossover sounds marvelous, let me know about the plot and that story will happen; down the line) and Crimson Commander688 for the reviews. I hope you enjoy this new chapter.

Sleeping Beauty & Enchanted all belong to Disney. Some OCs belong to retro mania, and others belong to me.

Happy reading!

Chapter 12

"So, I hate to disagree with you ladies, but most marriages are considered a success if they manage not to end, period." Jack points out. "Forget about happiness."

"Maybe that's common in your world, Jack. But in our world, things are very different. Marriages do last and there's love and happiness." Flora counters.

"And what about you and Vanessa?" Aurora asks. "You know that you will live happily ever after."

"I don't know if I'll make it through today, let alone a lifetime." Jack responds. "That's what I'm trying to tell you four. It's complicated."

"But it doesn't have to be." Aurora disagrees. "Not if she knows,"

"Knows what?" Jack questioned.

"How much you love her," Aurora points out.

"How much you appreciate her," Flora adds.

"Of course, she does." Jack replied. "We just don't talk about it every minute of the day, but she knows."

"How?" Aurora persists.

"What do you mean, 'how'?" Jack asks.

"How does she know…" Aurora begins to sing.

Jack laughs. "No, don't."

"You love her?

How does she know…" Aurora continued.

"People look-looking." Jack reminds the blonde of their surroundings.

"She's yours?"

"Don't sing." Jack interrupts, cutting off Aurora. "It's OK, you know. Let's just walk. Can we walk?"

"Young man, what do you have against singing?" Fauna asks the seventeen-year-old, frowning. "I gave Aurora the gift of song, since birth. She shouldn't hold back from expressing through song."

"Nothing, ma'am. It's just that we're in public, it's not really necessary." Jack answers.

"I'm starting to dislike this boy's attitude," Merryweather comments, glaring at Jack. "He's a real stick in the mud."

Jack is about to question the blue fairy when Aurora interrupts.

"Well, does she?" She asks Jack.

"Yeah," He said.

"How does she know that you love her?" Sebastian, a street singer, suddenly sings. This catches the group's attention.

"Oh!" Aurora exclaims, joyfully.

"He knows this song too?" Jack asks, caught off guard.

"How do you show her you love her?" Aurora begins to sing again.

One other member plays the drums. Aurora and the fairies marveled at the instruments.

"How does she know that you really, really truly love her?" Aurora, Flora, Fauna, Merryweather, and Sebastian sing in unison.

"I've never heard of this song before!" Jack remarks, astounded by what's going on.

"How does she know that you love her?

How do you show her you love her?

How does she know that you really, really, truly love her?"

"All right. Really, nice work." Jack starts to lead the women away. "Okay, that's it. It's okay…let's go."

But by this point, the people of Las Vegas are becoming enchanted.

"It's not enough to take the one you love for granted

You must remind her or she'll be inclined to say," Aurora sings her heart out; twirling and dancing about. She drags Jack along, while her guardians follow.

"How do I know he loves me?

How do I know he's mine?"

"Well, does he leave a little note to tell you, you are on his mind?" Aurora sits with a group of elderly men on a bench. She writes on a sketch pad, saying "You Are Adorable." Then, she shows the elderly ladies the note, who are amazed and touched by it.

"Send you yellow flowers when the sky is gray?" The men pull out yellow flowers from their jacket pockets and stood up, offering them to the women.

"Hey," Aurora brings the female group to their feet.

"He'll find a new way to show you

A little bit every day, that's how you know

That's how you know he's your love," Aurora brings the seniors together through harmony.

Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather looked on, with smiles and approval. Jack stood there, arms crossed. He wore a slightly bemused expression.

"See?" Aurora asks.

"All right, that's quite enough." Jack escorts Aurora, with the fairy trio following behind. "Let's go,"

Aurora giggles. Then, she gasps when seeing an advertisement for the King and Queen's Masquerade Ball.

"A masquerade ball!" Aurora exclaims.

"Yeah," said Jack.

"That would be fun!" Aurora remarked.

"That would not be fun," Jack said bluntly.

"You are a sad, pessimistic, strange little man. And you have my pity," Flora said to Jack.

Jack looks a bit taken aback by Flora's comment.

"Lighten up, young man." Fauna adds.

The two teens find themselves in a boat, riding through the Tunnel of Love. A mariachi band plays music nearby, as Jack paddles, while Aurora holds a Japanese umbrella. The fairies hover about, following them.

"You got to show her you need her, don't treat her like a mind reader

Each day do something to lead her to believe you love," Sebastian croons, sitting next to the mariachi band.

"Everybody wants to live happily ever after," Aurora resumes. She, along with her aunts, are dancing with brides, bridegrooms and an Elvis impersonator. Jack just looks dumbfounded by all the action.

"Everybody wants to know their true love is true.

How do you know he loves you?

How do you know he's yours?" Aurora, Jack, and the fairies sit in a carriage as people throw rice in their direction.

"Well, does he take you out dancing, just so he can hold you close?"

"I don't dance," Jack points out.

"Dedicate a song with words meant just for you? Ooh," Aurora adds, dancing and prancing with a German dance group.

"And I don't really sing," Jack adds.

"He'll find his own way to tell you, with the little things he'll do!" Aurora leads Elvis, the brides and grooms, along with Jack.

"That's how you know," Aurora and a little girl playing dress-up as Rapunzel, chant.

"That's how you know, he's your love." Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather along with the crowd, chant. They stand up, hands up. Merryweather nudges Jack, who reluctantly stood up and puts his hands up. He puts on a happy face.

Meanwhile, Philip is searching for Aurora. The girl he was chasing at first, turned out not to be Aurora. Suddenly, Philip hears Aurora's singing.

"Princess Aurora!" Philip shouts, happy he found his bride-to-be. He jumps in the street, going into song mode.

"I know you…" Before Philip could finish, he gets knocked down by bicyclists. They all fall, to the ground.

Meanwhile, Aurora summons doves with her musical abilities (like she had done earlier, during circus tryouts); while holding a heart-shaped, floral wreath that she and her guardians picked out for Vanessa (out of the money Jack gave her). The fairies watched while Jack stood there in disbelief.

Two doves fly over to Aurora.

"Take these flowers to Vanessa, please." She instructs the doves.

"What are you crazy?" Jack scoffed, frowning. "They're birds, they don't know where she lives."

"Young man, Aurora has a way with animals." Fauna points out.

"And don't ever call Aurora crazy, ever." Merryweather gives Jack a death glare, which causes Jack to back down.

The doves fly off with the flowers to deliver to Vanessa.

The musical number continues.

"That's how you know he loves you," Aurora sings, running down the street, with her godmothers at her side. The Vegas crowd are engaged, very energetic.

"That's how you it's true

Because he'll wear your favorite color, just so he can match your eyes

Rent a private picnic, by the fire's glow, oh." Aurora and Jack are sitting on a picnic blanket, with a picnic basket, joined by the three fairies.

"(Ohh) His heart will be yours forever, something every day will show.

That's how you know

That's how you know

That's how you know

That's how you know

That's how you know,

That's how you know he's your love," Aurora, Flora, Fauna and Merryweather sing and dance, leading the crowd. Jack even nods along, before stopping himself, frowning.

"That's how she knows that you love her

That's how you show her you love her (That's how you know)

You've got to show her you need her

Don't treat her like a mind reader (That's how you know)

That's how she knows you love her

That's how you know that you love her (He's your love…)

It's not enough to take the one that you love for granted!"

The song ends on a triumphant, high note. The mass cheers and applauds. Aurora beams and so do the fairies.

"Thank you all," The female quartet said.

Suddenly, Jack's phone rings. Seeing the caller ID, he answers it.

"Vanessa?"

"Jack, thank you so much for the flowers!" Vanessa exclaims, happily.

"Well, you're welcome." Jack responds. "No, I'm glad you liked them."

"She got the flowers," He whispers, glancing at Aurora and the fairies, who gave him a look saying, "I told you so."

"Did I catch you at a bad time?" Vanessa asked.

"Yeah, you wouldn't believe where I am now." Jack said.

Meanwhile…

Diaval rushed over to Prince Philip, who was still on the ground. The other bicyclists are getting back up and picking up their bikes.

"Oh, my good prince. You've fallen on your royal..." Diaval began to say.

"I know," said Philip.

Once he got a good look at Diaval, the prince wore a look of suspicion.

"Do I know you from somewhere?" He asked.

"Not that I know of." Diaval replied.

A/N: Whew, another long chapter!

The lyrics to "That's How You Know" remained the same, the only slight tweak I made was Philip's part. Instead of him singing "I've been dreaming", I had Philip sing the first half of "Once Upon a Dream" before getting mowed down.

I gave the street singer a name since he didn't have one in the Enchanted movie. It's also a nod to Sebastian the crab from The Little Mermaid.

The elderly men from the "That's How You Know" sequence were the chimney sweepers from Mary Poppins and a few were in West Side Story.

The little girl playing Rapunzel is a reference to Tangled (it was in production at the time Enchanted came out, I believe).

James Marsden really did get run over by those bicyclists, in fact, he insisted that they actually do it in order for it to look real.

Since the story is set in Vegas, I came up with the idea of an Elvis impersonator joining in with the brides and bridegrooms. I'm not sure if there's an actual Tunnel of Love ride in Las Vegas, I just made it up.

Anyways, up next, Jack & Vanessa reconcile over the doves and flowers Aurora & the three fairies sent. Even Oswald shows up.

Until then, see you next time, bye!
