A fleet of ships headed to the island with the purpose of delivering some rare cards.

"Duel Academy is on the verge of obtaining their new, rare cards."

Time Skip

Perry was in class waiting to take the written exam. Jaden suddenly barged into the room after helping a woman move a van up a hill.

'Took you long enough.' Perry thought to himself.

Alexis and Bastion felt the same way as him.

'You're cutting it real close, Jaden.' She was concerned about him being tardy.

Crowler was taking a peek through the door. He was staring directly at Jaden, who was sleeping along with Syrus. He then shifted it to Perry.

'You two will be in for a rude awakening during the practical exam.' He then slipped away.

While Jaden and Syrus were asleep in their row, Prof. Banner prepared to make a announcement.

"Students, the new rare cards just arrived so if you could-" He was cut off when they started to stampede out of the classroom.

"Oh dear." He sweat dropped.

"You two should probably wake up now." Perry told the two Slifers.

"Aw man, I slept through the written exam. I'm probably gonna fail." Syrus whined after waking up.

The two roommates looked around and noticed nearly everyone else was not present. The only ones still with them were Perry and Bastion.

"Where did everyone go?" Syrus blinked.

"Card shop." Perry answered simply.

"With the hopes of making their decks stronger for the practical exam." Bastion added.

"What?!" Syrus gasped.

"How come you two aren't getting any?" Jaden raised a eyebrow.

"I already have Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon. Do you really think I need anything else?" Perry asked the brunette.

"Well, we do." Syrus and Jaden ran out like their lives depended on it.

The rest of the class stood outside the card shop. They pounded on the metal, aiming to obtain rare cards before the other students.

Guards formed a line in front of the shop. They were waiting for the ship's captain to arrive.

"Do you want these?" He asked, holding up a metal briefcase.

The metal doors opened and the card shop was revealed. The brief case was on the table. There were also two people standing by the brief case. One of them was a counter girl. The other person was a 'mysterious' man wearing a black coat and hat.

The students looked inside the briefcase…

And face faulted when they saw that the brief case was empty.

"Hey, where'd they all go?" One student asked.

"You know the rules, first come first serve." The counter girl.

"And I was first, so I took every one." The man replied.

The students groaned in disappointment and they all left.

"Let's hurry." Jaden said as he and Syrus arrived at the card shop, only to discover no one was there.
