As our heroes made their way up to the mountain of the Abominable Snow Monster, they ran into a little sled who looked like he was freezing.

"Hey, can you guys help me?" whimpered the sled.

"Depends. Who are you?" asked Banjo.

"My name is Sleddy."

"That's original." mocked Kazooie.

"Kazooie." growled Banjo "What do you need help with Sleddy?"

"I assume you guys are heading for the witch, right?" asked Sleddy.

"Yes, we were." answered Banjo.

"When you get to her hut could you ask her if you can have some firewood? I've been frozen in this spot for years now and I'd like to move a little bit."

"We'll see what we can do." said Kazooie.

"Bless you both." said Sleddy.

And so Banjo and Kazooie continued up the towards mountain, until they ran into a house that was surrounded by snowballs.

"Uh oh, it's those snowballs again." gulped Kazooie.

"It's okay Kazooie, we can take them." said Banjo.

But before the bear and bird could do anything the snowballs lifted into the air and burst into snow one by one.

"Huh?" wondered Banjo.

"How did that happen?" asked Kazooie.

"It was I." said the voice of an old woman coming from the tiny house "I did that."

"I take you're the witch we are trying to find?" asked Banjo.

"Yes, yes." grumbled the old witch.

"You wouldn't happen to know Gruntilda would you?" asked Kazooie.

"Gruntilda?!?" said the witch in shock "Gruntilda Winkybunion?!? I've always hated that fat hag!"

"So could you help us?" asked Banjo.

"Depends. I'm but an old witch now." said the witch.

"We need help trying to stop Gruntilda from turning everyone in the world into a mindless zombies for the Zombie King's army." explained Banjo.

"Also there's a sled named Sleddy who needs your help." Kazooie reminded.

"Hmm, yes. Not sure what I can do if I'm being honest with you." said the witch "Now if you'll excuse me I'll conjure up a spell to help poor Sleddy."

The old witch lifted hands high, magic oozed from her fingers going up into the air towards where Sleddy had been.

"There we go, Sleddy should be okay now." said the witch, dusting off her hands "Poor fellow always gets frozen out here."

"Before we go could you help us get to that Abominable Snow Monster at the top of the mountain?" asked Banjo.

"I can, but I'm going to need you to fetch something first." said the witch.

"Oh no, what is it this time?" groaned Kazooie.

"You see that cave up there on the side of the mountain?" asked the witch.

"Yeah." answered Banjo.

"Bring me a cycle plant. It is plant shaped like an ice cycle." explained the witch.

"That's also very original." joked Kazooie.

"Kazooie!" complained Banjo "We'll be sure to get them for you ma'am."

"Thank you." said the old witch, going back into her house.

As Banjo headed straight for the mountain Gruntilda wasn't far behind.

"That bear and bird, what a disgrace. I'll head up to that mountain, before the snow monster they face."

And so Gruntilda rode off on her broom, straight to the top of the mountain.

"Banjo!" squawked Kazooie, seeing Gruntilda pass by overhead "She must be heading for the Snow Monster!"

"Then we should pick up the pace." said Banjo "Come on Kazooie."

Banjo ducked down and Kazooie popped out to carry Banjo up to the cave. But will they make it in time? Find out next time.

"We're here." said Banjo.

Ah shoot! I was trying to add more suspense. Anyways, see what happens in the next chapter.
