"Poor little bear. All alone again. You'll never be able... to save your friend."

As Banjo lay on the hard ground he began to dream. Dream about the past.

"Come on brudder." cheered Tootie.

Banjo, Kazooie and Tootie stepped out of their house and headed for the woods to set up a camp. After pitching the tent the three youngsters sat around the fire and had marshmallows, except Kazooie, who was shivering.

"Kazooie, are you cold?" asked Banjo.

"N-N-No, I'm just a little... s-s-scared." said Kazooie.

"Scared of what?" asked Banjo.

"What's out there." Kazooie replied, staring into the darkness beyond the trees.b

"There's no need to be scared Kazooie, Tootie and I are here."

"I'm still a little scared."

Seeing Kazooie shivering with fear, Banjo decides to take out his banjo from his backpack and he began to play a comforting song.

"You'll never be alone.

With me you're in your home.

No need to be afraid.

Of what you don't

understand."

Kazooie lifted her head, her fear leaving her slowly, as Tootie began to sing.

"You'll never be awone.

You are in your home.

The people that love you.

You will never be bwue."

Before she knew it the fear had all but left Kazooie, and she began to sing.

"I'll never be alone.

With you I am at home.

I will not be scared,

because my friends are bears."

The three laughed and sang and had a jolly good time camping that night.

"Banjo. Banjo?"

Banjo opened his eyes and saw, standing above him, his sister.

"Tootie?"

"Yeah big bro, it's me."

"How did I get down here? And why are you in here?"

"You blasted by Gruntilda's magic and fell in here. After taking Kazooie she conjured up a spell and turned everyone in the village into a zombie. I managed to escape in the cave, but then I got caved in."

"So there's no way out?

"Afraid not."

"Great."

Banjo sat up and began to frown. If there was no way out how could he save everyone he cared about?

"Oh it's hopeless." groaned Banjo.

"Hopeless?!?"

Banjo and Tootie shot up from the ground and saw something around their feet. It was Jamjars.

"Jamjars?!?" cheered Banjo.

"Yep, it's me."

"You dug all the way out here?" asked Tootie.

"Had to. My whole base turned into the Walking Dead."

"You think you can dig a hole far enough for us to get back to Spiral Mountain?" asked Banjo.

"Don't see why not. Hop in." said Jamjars, before diving back into his hole.

In Spiral Mountain, Gruntilda and Mary arrived with Kazooie in tow. Gruntilda approached the Zombie King who sat upon his throne in his newly built castle.

"Great Zombie King, we have captured the bird." laughed Gruntilda.

"Good. Well done." said Zombie King, grabbing Kazooie and throwing her in a cage above his throne.

"There is another matter I would like to discuss... your majesty." Grunty grinned.

"What is this matter, witch?"

In her hand the Nocturnis appeared.

"I've been studying this very book." said Gruntilda, turning to a specific page "And now you are going to be doing MY bidding."

Gruntilda begins to read the spell and then looks up at the Zombie King who has unamused look on his face.

"Maybe I didn't read it right."

"HAHAHAHAHA!!! Foolish WITCH!!! You think I didn't know about your plot?!? You think I didn't know what you were planning?!? I AM THE ZOMBIE KING!!! I AM A GOD!!! That puny little book can do NOTHING TO ME… hahaha… seeing how I am the one who created it."

Gruntilda, taken aback, begins to plead for her life.

"I… I… I didn't mean it. It was all a joke. Forgive me your highness."

"Gruntilda, I hereby relieve you of your duties."

With one flick the Zombie King knocked Grunty off her broom and into the air. Grunty landed just outside the castle, head first in the dirt.

"HAHAHAHA!!!" laughed the Zombie King "No one can stop me now!"
