Bringer of Friends

I never would have thought that my love of helping crafting interesting stories would get me into trouble. Then again, I didn't really think that ROB's were a thing. Now I'm stuck in a world that could best be described as on life support with what amounts to the POWER OF FRIENDSHIP! This should be interesting.

So, can anyone think of a worse combination than Worm, a world where friendship is rarer than diamonds in pig shit, and Fairy Tail, where Friendship can literally reset time? Yeah, me neither. I actually have a couple of ideas for this, one where the MC has Jellal's Magic, one where he has Midnight/Macbeths and this one, where he has a variant of Take Over. I'll do the others to, but this idea made me laugh, so lets do it. Enjoy!

Chapter 1

"Urrrrg, so bored," I moaned, leaning back in my chair.

It was one of those mind numbing days when nothing seems to keep you interested, not helped in the least that my days off from work had fallen in such a way I ended up with a full week off. The house was empty, I'd already read all of the recently updated stories on my list, there was nothing new that looked interesting and my muse had decided to take a vacation somewhere nice. Normally, I'd fire up my Playstation, but since it was currently updating, that was right out.

PING!

I sighed and sat up, bringing up my Gmail tab and found that it was a PM on Space Battles. Considering I was a recent addition and generally didn't comment that much, I hadn't received much in the way of PMs. I idly clicked on it and found it was from someone called 'Robert Oswald Bordeaux'. Interesting name.

Hey Dis, big fan of your work!

Why thank you! A bit of ego stroking is never unwelcome.

Listen, I've been working on an idea of my own, but I'm having trouble coming up with exactly how to do it. Mind helping?

I raised an eyebrow, but sent back a quick message that I'd be willing, assuming I knew the story they were working with.

Thanks man. OK, so the basic gist of the idea is for someone to get dropped into Worm (yes its one of those) with the power of a character from fiction. Any ideas for what powers and who I should use?

I snorted. This sort of story was right up my alley considering how much I enjoyed doing them myself. I thought for a moment and then started typing.

My first instinct for the first part is to say to give the MC something either OP as hell or utterly humiliating while still being useful. Whatever is given should be either easily mastered or come with at least the basics since wasting time training is something that breaks the flow, although instant mastery isn't needed. A good bases would be to pick a character and basically give the MC their powers and skillset at some point along their journey, either when they are first introduced or after they come into their own, but before things really get good for them.

As for who I'd use? Well, normally I'd suggest someone from DXD, but I've been rewatching Fairy Tail and kinda want to see some interesting stuff from that. Besides, I haven't seen that much done with Worm and Fairy Tail, so it could be interesting. Jellal or Midnight would both work well, mainly because they both have fun powers to play with. Alternatively, you could do something more original like, I don't know, Take Over with the Endbringers maybe? That could be fun. That help?

I hit send and, after a moments thought, pulled up a word processor of my own. The idea wasn't a bad one and I could think of a few ways I could use it without stepping on Roberts toes. I didn't have long to plan though before I received a message back.

It does actually. Thanks for the help mate and I'm sorry in advance.

I frowned. Sorry for what? Before I could send a message back asking what the hell he was on about, my computer screen went black. I had just enough time to register a flash of red and white, before an arm reached out of the screen, grabbed me by the collar and yanked me through it.

"WHAT THE FLYING FUCK!?" I screamed as I fell through a seemingly endless tunnel of swirling rainbows.

As I fell, I felt something begin to change. A brutal cold began to steal over my body and I could actually feel my bones and muscles begin to change shape. Then, my head split open as a frankly insane amount of knowledge was rammed into it all at once. I screamed once and blacked out.

SPLAT!

"Son of a…!"

I pried myself out of the pile of rotten garbage I'd landed in, pulling a putrid banana peel off my head as I did, and looked around. I was in an alleyway in between what appeared to be a pair of very old warehouses that had seen much better days. I could smell salt on the air, indicating that the sea was nearby. I sighed

"Great, thats all I need," I grumbled, "Fucking ROBS..."

I shook my head. Complaining was pointless right now. There was nothing I could do about this and, unless I had access to some kind of space hopping power, I was completely stuck. On the up side, assuming that the ROB had taken one of my suggestions, I'd likely be able to survive and thrive without issue. I closed my eyes and focused, quickly locating the new knowledge in my head, as well as the three semi-dormant beings that were apparently now stored in my Soul. Welp, thats definitely going to help! Now I just had to hope I could actually pull off the Magic without them taking over like Elfman and the Beast. A quick examination revealed that that wasn't likely, but I wouldn't be able to draw out the full power of an Endbringer anytime soon. Still, it was a powerful ability.

"Alright, lets get started then," I muttered, "Take Over, Endbringer Soul: Khonsu!"

A Magic Circle appeared under my feet and a surge of energy erupted as black and silver armour that appeared to be composed of leaves or fins, with elaborate designs on my elbows, boots, gauntlets and chest piece. My head was covered in a helmet resembling a snarling demon with its mouth open to reveal my lower face and catfish-like whiskers emerging from the corners of its mouth.

"Heh, nice," I muttered as I examined my armour, "Alright, time to go."

A brief flex of will had me lifting into the air and I flew in a random direction.

It didn't take me long to confirm that I was in Brockton Bay, seeing Armsmaster patrolling on his bike made that obvious, but I decided that it'd be worth keeping a lowish profile for now, so I didn't bother flying down. Instead, I maintained my height as I flew around, taking the opportunity to familiarize myself with both the city and what powers I had access to in my Khonsu form. Chances are that it would be my go-to powerset since Tohu relied on Parahumans being close enough for me to copy them and Bohu required me to stand still to use her powers. Fine if I had a team available, not too useful when I was on my own.

The powers available for me were, well, they were the same as Khonsus, albeit on a much lower scale. They manifested as silvery orbs I could manipulate telepathically to fly around and expand and contract and manipulate the time inside, either speeding it up or slowing it down as I pleased. I could limit them to affect only non living or just living targets, but normally they were freely able to affect anything that entered them. I had a finite amount of area I could control, but it was decently large and could be split into as many orbs as I wanted. The speed of the orbs was determined by their size, meaning that large ones moved slowly, while smaller ones could move a lot faster, although I could expand and contract them at will and very quickly, making that limitation less of a pain.

Other than the time based powers, it also granted me a fairly decent Brute rating, both in terms of durability and strength, although I had no idea how much of a boost I got without some experimentation.

All in all, a rather powerful skill set with a great deal of utility, both inside and outside of combat. Hell, I could even heal by reversing time on an injury! Now I just had to wait and see if I could use the POWER OF FRIENDSHIP to give myself a boost like any self respecting Fairy Tail character.

The sound of a shop alarm going off drew me out of my thoughts and I looked down to see a group of grimy men and women charging into a pharmacy whos window they'd just broken by driving a truck into it. In broad daylight. Probably Merchants.

I eyed the crime in progress for a moment, then shrugged and flew down. Might as well help out. I drifted down, ignoring the looks I was getting from the gathering crowd and crossed my arms as I examined the problem. After a moment, I sighed and shrugged. Might as well make this simple. I held out my hand and five small silver orbs appeared over it.

"Chronostasis," I said, mentally designating the still oblivious Merchants as targets.

The orbs shot into the shop and hit the Merchants. The moment they did, there was a brief flash of light and all five were abruptly frozen inside gray spheres with patterns that made them resemble three dimensional clock faces, including roman numerals around the center.

"Well, that worked better than I expected," I muttered as I pulled the frozen Merchants, who all looked scared shitless as they tried desperately to move, out of the shop and lined the orbs up next to the road, "Now lets see…"

I grabbed the rusted old van by the bumper and heaved it out of the shop front. It was about as hard as moving a large bed around, heavy, but more than doable.

"Anyone hurt in here?" I asked as I stepped into the shop and looked around.

The stunned customers and clerk slowly looked at each other, then everyone shook their heads.

"Great, that's a relief," I said and turned back to examine the hole in the wall, "Now, what to do about this mess?"

"Um, excuse me?"

I glanced back at the man who had spoken, apparently one of the employees if his uniform was anything to go by.

"Um, who are you?" he asked, "Its just...I don't recognize you. Are you new?"

I smiled.

"So new I haven't even got a name yet," I said, "Honestly, I didn't intend to do any heroing today, I'm just getting the lay of the land as it were. By the way, I can fix this is you want."

The man blinked and glanced at the hole in the wall.

"Um, sure if you can," he said, "But how…"

I ignored the question as I turned back to the hole and held my hands up, palms facing each other. I focused for a moment and a silvery orb appeared between them.

"Restore," I muttered and cast the orb at the hole.

It floated forwards and rapidly expanded to fill the hole, which immediately began fixing itself as time was rewound inside. In less than a second, it was like it had never been damaged to begin with and the bubble popped.

"That oughta do it," I said, "Later."

"Um, thanks?" said the clerk as I jogged outside where I found a few cops stood by the trapped Merchants looking confused.

"Lemmie get that," I said, "Release!"

The bubbles of frozen time popped, dropping the drugged up idiots to the pavement. The cops quickly snapped out of it and went to work cuffing the Merchants before they could recover, before one of them turned to me as his colleagues frogmarched the Merchants into the van the cops had arrived with.

"I understand that we have you to thank for stopping them," he said.

"Yep, it wasn't that hard," I said, "Easier than I was expecting actually. Its a good thing there weren't more though, I don't think I could have captured more than five or six."

The man frowned slightly.

"You're that new?" he asked, eyeing my armour.

"The armour comes with my powers," I said, "I got lucky. But yes, I am rather new. I don't really have a name yet."

The officer snorted.

"Well I suggest you come up with one quick," he said, "Otherwise the PRT or PHO will name you and I don't know which is worse. Besides, I need something for the report."

"Good point," I said, "Hmm, lets see…"

I closed my eyes and thought for a moment, before the perfect name came to mind and I grinned.

"Call me Ideal," I said, "Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go."

"Sure, try to keep out of trouble," said the cop, "We don't have enough Heroes around here who actually do anything."

I grinned as I took off and zipped back into the sky, just as Armsmaster rounded the corner on his bike.

An hour later and I was done with my exploration and was lounging on the roof of the Medhall building, playing with a fist sized orb of frozen time. In the short time I'd been messing with it, I found that the time compression inside remained the same until I changed it, meaning that I could make them solid by freezing time inside, or have them speed up or slow down the time of whatever they passed through, which was potentially even more devastating than just ageing someone to dust. Blowing holes in people was just as effective after all. Unfortunately, I couldn't change the shape of the orbs, so no indestructible swords made of time frozen air for me.

I sighed, dismissed the orb and pulled out my phone. The damn thing was an obserlite piece of crap back home, but here it was a few years ahead. As an added bonus, a brief application of power made it basically new. True, it wiped the sim card and memory, but its not like I'd need any of it for a while, if at all.

I quickly shoved that thought to one side. I didn't have time to consider that mess right now, not when I needed to find a way to get money and an ID. To be honest, the former wasn't hard, not when I could just find one of the Gangs stash houses and nick their cash, but I wasn't too happy with how potentially unreliable that would be. Plus, it would paint a massive target on my back. Another option was to get my hands on some busted electronics, fix them with my powers and then sell them on, but that had other issues attached.

Getting an ID was also not going to be that hard. By the very nature of this world, there were a lot of people who lost literally everything, so it wouldn't be hard to get myself sorted using that system by passing myself off as a displaced victim of one of the many threats that roamed the planet.

However, that wouldn't help me get a decent income. What I needed was a way to get a lot of money quickly that could keep me going until I could get myself sorted. Fortunataly, bounty hunting was an option for those powerful, or stupid, enough to pull it off.

The S9 were the most obvious target, but they were possibly a little too large. I wasn't entirely comfortable with my powers yet and, while I was willing to bet that any one of my three options would be able to deal with them without to much issue, it was also an unacceptable risk.

I sighed as I settled back on the roof, idly flipping through pages on various sites that held information on bounties, both official and unofficial. Most of them weren't worth the effort or required skills that I didn't have, but one caught my attention and made me sit up.

"Thats...a lot of zeros," I muttered as I stared at the page, thinking hard.

The bounty was a long-standing one that had apparently been increasing yearly since it had been posted thanks to donations from people desperate for it to be cashed in. As for what it was for, well, it was for any help in dealing with the many Gray Boy loops scattered throughout the contrary. The only question was, could I do anything about them?

According to the information on the post, a lot of people had tried. Any time someone with a time based power appeared, they were eventually approached to try to no avail. Even Clockblocker had tried and hadn't been able to do anything. There had been so many failures, it was surprising that anyone was still adding to the reward. With that in mind, was it even worth trying? On one hand it didn't cost me anything to try and if I could I'd be in for an impressive reward, but on the other…

Actually, there wasn't really an 'other hand' in this situation, was there? The only potential issue was getting in when I wasn't well known, but it was worth a shot. If they turned me away, I could just go back once I had more of a reputation. Besides, if I could help, I should, right?

Then again, doing that would paint an impressive target on my back from the Nine since I doubted that Jack would appreciate anyone messing with his 'art', even if some of it did predate Kings death. I could probably take the Nine if they came after me, but I didn't really want to fight them until I'd got some experience, which was why I wasn't going after them now. That meant that freeing them with Khonsu's power wasn't very bright since it was likely going to be my go-to form for a bit.

Fortunately, I had another option.

I released Khonsu and returned to my default form. I waited for a moment to see if I was about to collapse, but I still had plenty in the tank. Apparently, holding the form didn't take any power, just the initial transformation and any power use while in said form. Whatever the case, I had plenty of power left. I grinned and reached for my Magic again.

"Take Over, Endbringer Soul: Tohu!" I muttered.

There was a flash of light and I found myself with three faces and six arms. I blinked and looked down. My outfit in this form was flowing robes that were the same colour as my hair, sandals and plain white masks over my faces. I had golden braces around my wrists and ankles.

"Huh, thats interesting," I muttered, "This...is gonna be interesting."

I closed my eyes and reached out with my power. Apparently, I didn't have quiet the impressive range that Tohu had, so my original plan to use Striders teleportation was out. Fortunately, Purity was close enough for me to use and she was FAST, so I nabbed her power and one third of my body shifted slightly and started glowing brightly, and Velocity was also a good choice, so another third shifted so the mask resembled his and my robe was the same colours as his costume. Fortunately, deceased Capes were available to me without issue, so I grabbed Gray Boy and felt my last third change to the strange black and white flickering effect of the deceased psychopath.

With my choices made, I opened my eyes and grinned.

"Perfect, lets get going," I said.

I checked the map of the Gray Boy loop locations to find the closest. Once I had the coordinates, I lifted off the roof and flew away from the building. Once I was sure I was far enough away to not damage anything, I activated Velocities power and vanished in a flash of light.

I reappeared above an old shopping mall that had long since been converted into an extensive laboratory, dedicated to studying Gray Boy loops in an attempt to get the monochromatic psychopaths victims out of their personal hells. This was the location of his first victim.

I drifted down slowly so as not to spook the rather startled looking guards stood by the gates, armed with con-foam sprayers.

"Hold it, thats close enough," said one of them, "Who are you?"

"I'm...Asura," I said, quickly deciding that the name worked perfectly fine and fit rather well considering my looks, "I have some time based powers and thought I might be able to help out here."

"I've never heard of you," said the guard.

"I'm new," I said, "Look, are you gonna let me talk to whoever's in charge to give this a try or do I have to go on a side quest first?"

The two guards looked at each other, then the apparent superior sighed and lowered his sprayer.

"Alright, follow me," he said, "But I wouldn't get your hopes up. I've lost count of the number of people who've tried for that bounty and been disappointed."

"I won't know until I try," I said as I followed the trooper into the building.

Five minutes later, I was introduced to the man in charge of the facility, a Dr Tennant, who didn't seem to appreciate my Dr Who joke. It wasn't really worth it anyway since the guy was a crabby old geezer with flyaway hair.

"I hope you realize that this isn't likely to work," said the Doctor as he led me through the halls of the long abandoned mall, "I'm not sure why I'm even letting you do this considering how little experience in using your power you have."

"Its worth a try," I said.

"Hmm, I'm sure," said Tennant, "And I suppose that the bounty has nothing to do with it either, hmm?"

I sighed.

"I really wish I could say it wasn't, but that'd be a lie," I said, "I'm...not in a good place right now. I've lost everything, so I need a way to get back on my feet. This seemed like the best way to do it without having to fight anything really scary and I get to help someone as a bonus."

The Doctor eyed me for a moment, then snorted.

"Well, at least your honest," he said, "And honestly, I don't really care about your reasons. If you can break the loops, I will happily pay you every penny of that reward."

"Its that personal?" I asked.

"Not really," said Tennant, "But I've spent years on this project and have nothing to show for it. Oh, I've published plenty of papers on the physics of the effect, but its somewhat bittersweet knowing that I've utterly failed to make a difference to those trapped inside."

He sighed.

"I just want this to be over so we can forget that little shit ever existed."

I nodded.

"I'll do my best," I said.

"You'd better," said Tennant, "We're here."

He opened the door and entered a room that had probably been a shop at one point. Now however, the shelves and products had been replaced by banks of machines whose purpose I could only guess at, all manned by people in lab coats and pointed at the bizarre distortion in temporal space in the middle of the room. Inside the grayscale patch of air was an attractive young woman in nice enough clothes that were about 20 years out of date.

"Asura, this is Amy Pond," said Dr Tennent, "Miss Pond, this is Asura."

"Nice to meet you," I said, waving my arms on one side.

"Um, h..i," said Amy, her voice stuttering as her loop reset, "You look...strange."

I grinned and shrugged.

"Eh, powers, they do weird things," I said, "Fortuantaly, this is a Breaker state, not a permanent change."

I sobered and walked over to the bubble.

"Now then, lets see about getting you out of this, shall we?"

I examined the bubble with a frown, then reached out with Gray Boys powers. It took a moment to grasp it, but once I had it, dismissing it was easy. There was a round of shocked gasps from the scientists while Amy stumbled a few steps, her eyes wide, before she fell to her knees and stared down at her hands.

"Y-you…you broke it," she breathed, flexing her fingers.

"How did you do that?" asked Dr Tennet.

"My power is stronger than Gray Boys," I said, "Apparently, for all his reputation, he was nothing but a talented hack."

I turned to the Doctor and grinned.

"So Doc, where to next?"

Three hours later, I reappeared above Brockton Bay with a case full of money in hand. Breaking the remaining Grayboy loops hadn't taken long at all and the remaining time had been spent making sure that the victims were alright. I'd made sure to break the loops at the start of them, so the ones who'd been tortured by the sadistic bastard were as physically healthy as they could be. The poor bastards would require a ton of therapy, but at least they were free now.

The remainder of the time had been spent filling out paperwork, but now I was back with plenty of capital to get started. Now all I needed was a base of operations and a valid ID and I'd be golden.

A moment later, the smile was abruptly wiped off my face as the world around me flickered and I found myself stood in the sitting room of an apartment in my default form.

"What the fu..!?" I yelped, spinning around, "Where am I!?"

"Your new home."

"YEEP!"

I nearly jumped out of my skin with a very manly scream as I whipped around to face the source of the voice. Sat on the couch, where no one had been a moment ago, was a man. I couldn't tell you what he looked like because he didn't seem to exist. I mean, he was there, I could see him clearly, but at the same time, the couch was empty.

"Who are you?" I asked warily, reaching for my Magic.

The man grinned and held up his hands.

"Hey, calm down Yuri, I'm not here to hurt you," he said, "Theres no way I'd do that after all the work I put in bringing you here."

"How do you…" I stopped mid sentence as the meaning of the last part of that statement hit me and I narrowed my eyes, "Wait, brought me here?"

The mans grin extended even further, way further than any Humans possibly could.

"Yup, I am indeed the ROB responsible for your current predicament," he said, "Nice to meet you."

I stared at him for a moment, then took a swing at him. My fist passed right through his head as if it wasn't even there and I'm not convinced that it actually was. I regained my balance and glared at him for a moment, which did about as much good as the punch, then sighed and slumped down across from him.

"Isn't this against some sort of rule?" I grumbled.

"Nope, your not a competitor in a game, just a personal project, so I can do what I want," said the ROB, "However, I didn't come for a chat. I actually have something for you."

He indicated to the table, which now had a large, metal case sat on it with a keyring on top.

"The apartment is yours, or rather, it will be once you sort out an ID," he said, "And the case and its contents are a little gift."

Curious, I pulled the case closer and opened it, revealing a number of glass vials.

"Cauldron vials?" I asked in surprise.

The ROB snorted.

"No, don't be stupid," he said, "These are a lot more impressive than any bit of blitzed Entiity."

He grinned and held up a finger.

"Give one of these to a Parahuman and they will get one hell of an upgrade," he said, "Hell, give one to a normal Human and they'll get one, but it'll be less obvious and require more work. Better to give them to Capes."

"What...kind of upgrade?" I asked as I pulled out one of the vials and examined the lid, which was marked with a Fairy Tail symbol instead of the Cauldron logo.

"It will convert their power into Magic," said the ROB, "One swig of one of these babies and say goodbye to the Conflict Drive, any Trump power and the static lack of ability to grow naturally. Instead, they'll gain the power to grow and evolve as Humans are meant to do."

I jolted and stared at the ROB in shock, then down at the innocent looking vial in my hand and gulped. That had the potential to go very, VERY bad. As powerful as some characters in Worm were, city busters were fairly uncommon. However, in Fairy Tail, they seemed to be freaking everywhere! On the up side, considering that it was basically confirmed that Magic in Fairy Tail ran on good feelings, spreading a few of these around would only result in good things. Assuming I didn't accidentally end up making another Fairy Tail.

"Well, now thats done, I'm off," said the ROB, getting to his feet and heading to the door.

Before he vanished through it however, he paused.

"Oh, and before I forget, a word of warning," he said, "The method I used to get you here resulted in the barrier between this world and others being weakened. Not enough to let anything in, but it has connected this world to The One and that means that Ethernano will begin to leak into this world. I doubt it will have any effect for a while and it will actually benefit you and anyone you give one of those vials to since it will speed up your Magical recovery, but you should keep your eyes open, especially in areas where the space between worlds was already weak. Chances are that people, especially young children, will begin to naturally develop Magic."

He grinned.

"Have fun!"

He vanished, leaving me alone in the apartment with a case full of miracles and a massive headache.

And done. Well, that was certainly interesting, not to mention a lot of fun. I'm sure I'm going to get some flack for including the Magic Vials, but I really don't care. I like the idea and I think it'll make things rather interesting for the world. If your interested, I'm happy to take suggestions for who could get them.

In case you're wondering, Yuri's strength level in his Take Over forms is about equivalent to Mirajanes Satan Soul forms, albeit with some variance based on what powers he has access to in each form. He can also take on a full Endbringer form with all their powers, but doing so is enough to completely drain him and can only be held for sixty seconds, after which he passes out and will be unconscious for about a week. More than enough to win most fights, but a last resort technique.

I got the idea for the name 'Ideal' from the fact that an Eidolon can mean an ideal and Yuri's power is rather similar to Eidolons when you get right down to it.

I have no idea if there are any canon people who got zapped by Gray Boy in his original run and I couldn't find any info on the wiki, so I decided to just take some names at random. Side note, I'm not a fan of Dr Who, but it seemed appropriate. I also had another idea where the victim was Mavis, but discarded it since it was a bit too silly.

And with that, its done. Don't forget to leave a review!
