Not only was her mating successful, she has also persuaded thirteen more Horta to join Starfleet. They were beamed aboard with her and are currently having the minimum knowledge of a Starfleet officer uploaded into their brains. Our next destination is Tarquinus, where Commander Schist plans to lay her eggs. When they hatch, they will be able to aid the Tarquinians in their mining operations.
Episode 9: Errand of Mercy
(Enterprise) Captain's log: Stardate 58310.3 - Ensign Long-Seer has scanned an Ena invasion fleet heading towards the planet, Organia. The Ena control an expanding empire than includes the Klingon home-world. Much of Klingon culture and technology they inherited from the Ena. The Organians are a peaceful race of energy beings. Our mission is to warn the Organians of the approach of the Ena fleet.
"Captain, I am scanning an Ena scout ship on approach," reported the Cylon Centurion Security Chief, Lieutenant Zoe Kalven, "vector 23 mark 159".
"Shields up! Red Alert!" ordered Captain Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace. "Hail them."
"They are not responding to our hails," reported the Borg Communications officer, Lieutenant 1 of 20.
Suddenly, the ship was rocked, as the a photonic torpedo from the Ena ship hit them.
"Shields at 93%," reported Lieutenant Kalven.
"Return Fire! Fire phasers!" Commanded Starbuck.
"Firing Phasers . . . partial hit," reported Lieutenant Kalven. "Ena are launching more photonic torpedos."
"Intercept those toped-" Starbuck started to command, before they were his again.
"Shields at 88% . . . Firing Phasers . . . Direct hit. Target destroyed," reported Kalven.
"Stand down from Red Alert," commanded Starbuck.
"Damage control teams make your evaluations and report to the Bridge," ordered the Vulcan First Officer, Commander Stonn.
"I'm going to take Councilor Leek with me to talk to the Organians," Starbuck told Stonn. "While I am gone, you Mister Stonn, will be in command of the ship. If that Ena Fleet shows up, don't try to fight them. Take the ship and meet up with the Fleet. The Constitution and Argos are both supposed to be here by tomorrow."
"Understood, Captain," replied Commander Stonn.
"We have arrived in orbit of Organia," reported the Medeusan Navigator, Ensign Toma.
"Orbit Established," announced the Tarquinian Helmsman, Lieutenant Klelia.
"Good," said Starbuck, as she pushed a button on the arm of her chair. "Councilor Leek, please report to transporter room 1."
Starbuck rose from her chair and announced: "Mister Stonn, you have the Conn."
Although Councilor Leek sometimes wore the mini-dress version on the uniform when she was off duty, when she arrived in the transporter room, she was, like Starbuck, wearing all three layers of the Uniform. Being a Kobolian Human. The jump suit, looked like pajamas to her eyes. She preferred to wear the blue shirt and black pants over it and the black jacket over that.
When they beamed down to the planet, they were met by what appeared to be an elderly male human. The planet looked like a medieval town.
"Greetings Strangers. I am Ayelborne and I welcome you to our world."
"We share your greetings and rejoice to meet you," replied Councilor Leek, as she bowed to him.
"We need to warn your people," butted in Starbuck. "Is there someone in authority we can talk to?"
"There is no one 'in authority'" replied Ayelborne. "But I can take you to the council of elders."
"I am grateful for your assistance in this matter," said Councilor Leek, bowing again.
"Yeah, show us the way," added Starbuck.
The Organian led them into a nearby building where they were brought to a table, at which, sat a group of elderly appearing men.
"I am Captain Thrace of the Starship Enterprise. This is Councilor Leek. We represent the United Federation of Planets. We've come to warn you that an Ena invasion fleet is heading for your planet."
"There is no reason for concern," replied Ayelborne.
"Look, I know you are some kind of energy beings but-" began Starbuck, before the beep of her communicator interrupted her. She pulled it off her belt and flipped it open. "Starbuck here."
"Captain, the Ena invasion fleet has arrived sooner than expected," reported Mister Stonn. "We are under attack. With the shields up, it is impossible to transport you back up. Should I send a Raptor for you?"
"No. Don't risk the ship," commanded Starbuck. "Go meet up with the Fleet. As soon as you are clear, cloak the ship and go to warp."
"Understood. Stonn out," replied the First Officer before ending the connection.
"Well, it appears you are stranded here with us," mused Ayelborne. "We will have to get you some Organian clothes so you can disguise yourselves as one of us."
The Organian clothes turned out to be dresses with hoop-skirts that made it impossible to run, a tight corset that made it difficult to breath, and a neckline so low that they were in danger of popping out if they made a sudden movement.
"It's gonna be hard to fight in this get up," groused Starbuck.
"We abhor Violence in all forms," announced Ayelborne.
"Hey! Where's my piece!" exclaimed Starbuck when she realized that her pistol loaded with explosive bullets was missing.
"My phaser's missing too!" added Councilor Leek.
"We have confiscated your instruments of violence," replied Ayelborne, calmly. "You would use them to do violence."
"The Ena have arrived on our planet," announced Claymare, one of the other members of the Council of Elders. Claymare too, appeared in the form of a an elderly male human.
"How do you know that?" asked Starbuck.
"I have come to trust Claymare's intuition," replied Ayelborne.
Suddenly, a group of Ena burst into the room! Their body and limbs had a more square cross-section, not the round form that the arms and legs and body that humans and most other humanoid life forms have. They weren't completely square. The edges were rounded off. Still, they were a lot more square in cross-section than humans. They wore armor that covered them to the neck and offered some protection against disruptors. They were armed with disruptor pistols on their belts and crescent-shaped blades strapped to their backs that resembled Klingon bath'leths.
"I am Warlord Krag!" announced the Ena leader. "This planet is now under the domination of the Ena Empire!"
"We welcome you," said Ayelborne, with a smile and a bow.
"That's it?" Asked Krag. "We just barge in, take over, and all you have to say is: welcome . . . . Who are these ladies?"
"No one important," replied Ayelborne. "Just some visitors come to visit us."
"Are they mute?" asked Krag. "Can't you speak for yourselves?"
"I can speak for myself," piped up Starbuck.
"Where is your smile?" asked Krag.
"My what?" asked Starbuck, as Councilor Leek put on a fake smile.
"Your insipid smile like all the others have," replied Krag, before pointing at Councilor Leek. "See! She's smiling now."
"I don't trust their smiles," said Krag. "No one can be that serene. I think I will make you my overseer. Put you to work under me."
Hearing his suggestion for what it was, Starbuck gave him a vicious smile as she began planning just how she was going to kill him.
"Bring the girls. We have work to do," commanded Krag.
It was no surprise to the starfleet officers that they were brought to a room with a large bed and locked in. It was obvious, just what kind of work that would be doing under the Ena.
"Captain, I'm afraid they are going to take advantage us," said Councilor Leek.
"Don't be afraid. They're definitely going to rape us," said Starbuck, as she flipped the mattress off the bed and broke off part of the springs to make a shiv. "Unless we fight back."
"I was on New Caprica," replied the Councilor, as she broke off her own piece of metal to make a shiv for herself. "I remember how to fight back."
It was hours until anyone came for them. By then, they both had shivs sharpened to a point. Starbuck had strapped hers to her calf, while Councilor Leek had tucked hers into the front, between her cleavage. They had plenty of time to plan how they were going to fight off the large group that came for them. So it was a surprise when the door slammed open and Krag entered alone.
"Dealing with your people is exhausting!" Groused Krag. "You're all so docile. I need some stress relief!"
When he pushed Starbuck onto the bed, she offered no resistance to his pushing her down and positioning himself between her legs. He was still fully dressed, but his intensions were clear. Her hoop skirt puffed up to block him, but bending her legs allowed her to reach her shiv. Meanwhile Leek had pulled out her own shiv and was preparing to stab him in the back.
Organian System - Enterprise Bridge
"We are in position, starboard of the Argos. Constitution is in formation to Argos port side," reported Ensign Toma, the Medeusan Navigator.
"Scanners are showing 30 Ena ships, various classes armed with photonic torpedoes. No Shields or phaser banks," reported Lieutenant Klelia.
"Shields up. Red Alert," order Commander Stonn. "Put them on the view-screen."
When the telescope zoomed in and projected the Ena fleet onto the view screen, it was apparent from the Argos historical records that the Klingons had taken their ideas about ship design from the Ena. The ships consisted of a triangular wing with nacelles on the tips and a long neck projecting forward with another hull section at the end of it.
"Ena are polarizing their hull plating," announced Lieutenant Kalven.
"Commander, the Constitution is hailing the Ena," announced Communications Officer 1 of 20.
"Put it on speaker," ordered Mister Stonn.
The Constitution's message was the voice of Captain Harry Kim and all of the other Borg Crew members speaking in unison, even 1 of 20, were speaking in unison with them as they said:
"We are the Federation, depolarize your hull and surrender. Resistance in futile."
"Creepy!" observed Ensign Toma.
"Indeed," agreed Stonn. "I would surmise this is an attempt at psychological warfare to persuade them to surrender without a fight."
"Captain! Ships are de-cloaking between us and the Ena fleet!" exclaimed Lieutenant Klelia.
On the view-screen they saw three large, black, spider-shaped ships appeared before them.
Planet Organia - Ena Headquarters - Warlord Krag's bedroom
Suddenly, their shivs became too hot to hold! Starbuck and Leek dropped them as Krag leaped off of Starbuck.
On the Ships in Organian space, all the control panels became to hot to touch.
"What's happening?" asked Krag, who had tried to grab Leek but found her too hot to hold too.
Gently, the door swung open and Ayelborne entered.
"This has gone on far enough," chided Ayelborne.
Krag tried to draw his disrupter pistol, but immediately dropped it. He reached for his blade and dropped it too.
"We have no wish to participate in yet another Shadow War," announced Ayelborne. "As I stand here, I also stand on the home-worlds of the Federation, the Ena Empire, the Vorlon Empire and the Shadows. If you want to teach the younger races a lesson, teach them elsewhere. You are no longer, any of you, welcome on our planet or in our space."
With a wave of Ayelborne's hand, Starbuck and the Councilor found themselves back on the bridge of the Enterprise and in their uniforms.
"Captain, the Ena are withdrawing, black ships are cloaking," announced Lieutenant Klelia.
"We should do the same," mused Starbuck, as Stonn rose from the big chair allowing her to sit. "Lieutenant 1 of 20, co-ordinate with the other Federation ships. Ensign Toma, plot a course out of this system. Lieutenant Klelia, warp 1. Engage."
