/getting slapped for lack of updates... but no reviews just made me too sad qq q qq ! Erm, anyways, on with the story~ There's still a lot to come, after all
For some reason I was looking forward to classes. Most likely because I'd see the General again... I had noticed how I already missed him when I didn't see him for a day or even less.
Despite having had a girlfriend back in Nibelheim, I couldn't remember ever having felt these feelings before. Probably because a girlfriend with 16 was something else than a... uhm... man-crush with 20. Not like we had done anything, either... So, I technically still was...
"Spike! Hey!" A raven haired SOLDIERs voice sounded over the heads of the people walking to Sephiroth's class. I turned around, only to have a hand meeting my hair to ruffle it playfully.
"Heeey!" I complained, gently pushing him away. He awarded me with a tight hug, then turned to walk beside me. "How's it going?"
I tried to get my hair back in position (and blushed when I remembered that Sephiroth said he liked it) and answered: "As always, how about you?"
Zack smiled. "I'm good. Heading towards the classroom. There's a meeting to talk about next week's mission after the lesson."
I turned to look at him and got a bit sad when I remembered that I would be without the General for some days - or even weeks.
He didn't fail to notice my disappointed look as well as... "Woah, what happened to your lip?"
That caught me off guard, I had almost forgotten about it after getting used to the lightly stinging pain. "I...It's nothing" I mumbled.
"Training accident? Oooor... another kind of accident?", he winked and nudged my side. "Come on, tell me! Who was it?"
I sighed. "No, it wasn't that spectacular. Only an accident while chewing on a pen..."
"A pen, hummm..." Zack snickered but to my good fortune, we arrived at the classroom and the raven haired got distracted again.
"Seph!" He waved energetic and ran towards him. I watched how Sephiroth twitched and raised his arm up just in time to stop Zack from his attempted hug - with the palm of his hand on Zack's forehead, holding the struggling man back. I heard him mutter something along the lines of "You're embarrassing me" and "Can't you wait until the end of the lesson" and chuckled amused.
I sat down in the second row of the classroom again, eyes fixed on the General who was talking to some students. Even though it felt like joining them, I didn't want to appear annoying or clingy... or both. But I just was so happy... I watched as some of his long, silvery hair – which he had apparently stuck behind his ear – slipped down into his face as he leaned down to check his laptop.
He didn't smile when he was talking to other people, but somehow, he still didn't appear unfriendly. 'He is one strangely amazing human...' I caught myself daydreaming when everyone moved to their seats.
Zack moved to the bureau room behind the classroom, not without waving me goodbye first.
I pulled myself together. Sephiroth hadn't taken a look at me yet - and there I was, trying to think back to my previous lessons to remember if he ever had... I however wanted to see those gorgeous eyes on me tonight, even if just for a second. I secretly grabbed my phone, suddenly unbelievably aware of how unreal my current situation was. My face turned slightly warmer when I read our latest texts:
*I don't taste good ;)*
*Hmm, I will have to convince myself of that on Friday... And no, I won't hurt you ;)*
*Really?*
*Yeah :) Or you like? O_O*
*Ha ha... depends on the situation! ;) ;) ;)*
I was just about to dim my phone to avoid "downtown awkwardness" when the lights in the room flickered off.
My head shot up just in time to see the presentation on the whiteboard in front of me... when suddenly, I felt a lot of eyes on me.
"Your phone!", someone whispered and I reacted quickly by darkening the screen...
Now I was deadly sure that a certain somebody's eyes would be on me as well – not the way I had planned, however.
Carefully and slowly, my gaze moved up and to my instructor's eyes... but, instead of annoyance or anger which I expected for being rude and interrupting class, I found confusion in the pools of mako green...
His questioning look reflected into my own eyes 'Why would he be confused?'
When I saw the corner of his lip twitch as a result from his canine tooth biting it, it dawned upon me. 'The wound...'
I smiled, a bit embarrassed, shaking my head as if to say "It's nothing". After a second or two of hesitating, he nodded subtly and cleared his throat to continue with his class.
With the lesson being almost over, I had decide for plans for this evening. Studying was definitely one of them, maybe texting a certain someone as well...
"Cloud Strife, stay after class.", echoed a powerful voice and I cringed. I got several looks from students who started packing and leaving the room, while I remained still on my chair, worried. 'It's surely about that cellphone thing. They're forbidden during class, after all...'
"Please step forward."
I gulped, having a bad feeling in my stomach. 'I thought he didn't mind the mobile phone thing...'
When I reached his table, he got up and walked to my side, then around my back, scanning me...
His face was serious the whole time as he circled me. When he stopped just in front, I gulped again, eyes wide with worry.
By the time he finally spoke up, my heart was beating considerably faster because I had already pictured the worst scenarios in my head:
Him taking my phone away, him thinking I was also doing these kinds of texts with other people, or even... telling me that he wanted to stop the ambiguous (at least hinted) texting...
"Did somebody hurt you? Or did it happen during our training?"
Sephiroth rose his arm slowly, his hand moving up as if to touch my lip... but shortly before reaching it, he withdrew it and placed a finger on the corner of his own lips instead. That action made me forget all my fear from before and instead forced me to think of an answer.
"Oh, no... It was an accident with a fork last night, please don't worry about it." I explained, watching his serious face soften.
"Are you sure? Well, okay... We don't use healing Materia for such small matters, or I'd offer you-", he started but I interrupted the taller man.
"I'll get some ointment from the nurse, alright", I smiled at him. "But thanks for your concern." I felt the strong urge to hug him for caring about me. Since there were no other students around anymore, it wouldn't seem weird... But I didn't want to make the first step to risk awkwardness.
"Okay, you do that. I'll go head to a short meeting." He said, putting on his black cloak, still standing in front of me.
I smiled at him again. "Then have fun, and good night.", I said, swinging my bag over my shoulder, leaning slightly forward to give him a hint...
To my surprise he caught it with a smirk and wrapped his arms around my relatively small shoulders. I followed suit and wrapped mine around his upper body.
"Take care of yourself and on your way home.", Sephiroth said, patting my back.
"T-Thanks" I mumbled half into the fabric of the cloth on his chest and half up to his neck. I felt a few strands of his silver hair tickling my cheek and had to smile. "You too.", I finished and noticed the pleasant smell of leather and aftershave emitting from him.
When we pulled away, I tried to hide my blush resulting from my face having been pressed against him, as well as that gorgeous smell...
Fortunately, he turned around to grab his suitcase, so I offered him a quick "See you!"
I quickly caught his answer "Night" before rushing out of the door, face full of pure joy.
When I closed my eyes, I could still feel him in my arms, smell him... it was amazing, needless to say. My heart was jumping with joy and I couldn't even blame it.
For some reason I couldn't stop thinking about the graceful General anymore. He made me happier than anything else, even Kunsel started to worry what the cause of my sudden happiness outbursts was. Of course I couldn't tell him what caused it, that would just be weird as hell.
Now that I thought about it, I didn't even know any homosexuals here at ShinRa. If I would have internet at other places than the library, I would have done a research on it to find out if it wasn't even forbidden. 'Then I'd surely be screwed...' I thought, sweat-dropping.
Instead of worrying about that, I decided to worry about my upcoming theory exam for 2nd Rank. After taking a look at my papers, I figured that I was pretty much done with everything beside one book and some papers from class.
Therefore I flipped the book open and started another studying session.
