And we're back with reason number 2.

Reason #2

He's a secret cuddler

You would never have imagined how cuddly he was when the two of you first met. He comes across as such a tough and strong person, which he is no doubt about it, but no one would ever think he was so cuddly. Of course he was never going to admit to being a cuddly teddy bear was he?

The first time it happened was actually the first time spending the night after you'd slept together. Obviously it was something you'd played off as a one time thing. Played it off as him not being used to having someone spend the night with him. You'd simply rolled your eyes, extracted yourself from his grip and then left. It wasn't until it happened a second and third time that you realised that he was evidentially a secret cuddler. Surprising but hey not exactly something you found you disliked. He's not the only one who likes to cuddle after all.

For some reason people never expect men to like to cuddle. It's a total double standard if you ask me. Women can be cuddlers but the moment a man does it people have this weird look in their eyes. Like there's something wrong it it. For a while you thought that was why he'd never said anything. For a time it was just something you figured he was embarrassed about.

Then it started happening in other places too…

When you're alone he went from being this tough, standoffish person to being someone who liked the cuddle every chance he got. Sitting the couch at night he seemed to sink into your side and almost breathed a sigh of relief when an arm went around him. Again it's something you liked. Something you loved about him. The fact that he trusted you enough, loved you enough, to show this side of himself was wonderful.

For a while you were happy to accept that he was a secret cuddler but then, as more and more information about his childhood came out, you began to realise that there might be more to it. Learning about what happened to him as a kid, what he went through, makes you realise that he probably never got hugged all that much. You can't imagine what it's like to go through your entire childhood not having someone hug you at the end of the day, tell you they loved you at night.

It was only after a particularly hard day at the hospital that you'd realised just how much he needs to be touched. The minute you'd wrapped him up in your arms the tension had just melted from his body. Every time that you hugged him he relaxed, he really relaxed, which is something you don't see very often.

That's the thing about Alex. He was always on edge.

Always.

Again that's something else you put down to his incredibly happy childhood. If it took wrapping him in your arms to make him relax well…then well...you can make that sacrifice. Hell having a gorgeous, brilliant, attractive man wrapped in your arms is hardly a bad thing.

Yay! More fluff! I love turning Alex into a complete sap which is something that gets hinted at on the show but never really looked into all that much. In case you hadn't noticed. I LOVE sappy Alex. He needs to be taken care off after everything that he's been through.
