Yikes, it's certainly been a hot minute hasn't it?
Well then, here's another idea piping hot straight out of of the oven for you!
It's a time travel fic, but with a bit of a twist!
All For One And One For All
(Inspired by Once More Into The Fray by SleeplessElite)
The story starts off with the basic gist of a time travel 'Return to start' story: Team RWBY are sent back in time to just before the start of Beacon, and move to meet up with each other and learn how to deal with Cinder and Salem, and stop the Fall of Beacon.
However, a problem soon arises.
Team RWBY weren't the only ones sent back. Team JNPR (With even Pyrrha remembering everything up to when she died) Have been sent back as well.
And Team CFVY.
And Team CRDL.
And Team SSSN.
And Team FNKI, BRNZ, NDGO, ARBN, and even Penny, Ciel, and the Malachite Twins.
They've all been sent back in time, and they're all attending Beacon to stop its fall.
And so, the very first day of Beacon Academy is one completely writ of confusion and messy relationships and alliances, as everyone tries to figure out what to do, and how not to draw the attention of Ozpin onto them, and really just throws everyone into a loop as they all try to work together- And a lot of the time, fail at doing so- In order to stop the Fall of Beacon, and everything that happens afterwards.
Then, Initiation comes to pass, and everything just gets even more chaotic and confusing, as the horde of time travelling initiates spend less time fighting the Grimm, and more time running around the Emerald Forest trying to find their original teams, which only gets even more confusing as they keep finding the wrong partners- With some of them even making a game of trying to find their original partners- And just causing confusion for the rest of the initiates who are not with them, and even the teachers above.
After one of the most confusing and maddening initiations to ever grace Beacon Academy- Where all of the time travellers (Save Team CFVY, for they were already in their second years) Ganged up on the Nevermore and Deathstalker and beat the tar out of it- The teams end up being mixed up with each other, which leads to... Well, a great many teething issues, to say the least.
And then, factions begin to crop up within the mass of time travellers, between those who wish to be careful and try not to alert Cinder to their presence, and those who wish to be direct and take the fight to her as soon as possible, with Ruby and her lot, being comprised of the members of RWBY, SSSN, and NDGO, Arslan, Ren and Pyrrha, Velvet and Yatsuhashi, and Penny and Ciel, being of the former group, and with Jaune and his crew, being the members of FNKI, CRDL, and BRNZ, Reese, Bolin, and Nadir, Nora, the Malachite Twins, and Coco and Fox, take up the latter group, leading to a lot of friction between the two groups as Jaune's group begin to grow a lot more outgoing in their fight against Cinder and the White Fang, using the Malachite Twins connections to the criminal underworld, as well as their own knowledge of the future, to track and hunt down those loyal to Cinder.
This doesn't solve the problem, though. In fact, because of the confused nature of those who had gone back in time, it ends up changing several events from the canon timeline, and meaning that much of their knowledge of the future has become defunct, and by the time that the Vytal Festival comes to pass, multiple different factors and events have changed and left the time travellers more confused by what was going on than ever.
But more than that, this is a story with less on a focus on plot, and more of a focus on character interactions and relationships between these time travellers to spring up, as strange and unlikely friendship groups begin to form around the teams and groups, such as Ruby beginning to form her own friendship group out of Penny and Ciel, Yatsuhashi, Scarlet and Sage, Octavia, and Coco, and Jaune's new friendship group consisting of Neon and the rest of FNKI, Velvet, May, Reese, and even Team CRDL.
Strange friendship groups indeed.
Humour is also an important part of this story, as pretty much all of the time travellers are pushed into the same class to each other, and as such, they become the equivalent to a horde of chaotic neutral gremlins that spread disaster and mayhem wherever they go.
Glynda's going to have a lot more than food fights to worry about from now on.
This might just be the best idea that I've ever had.
Please, for the love of god, hit me up with a PM, and do this idea. I would love to read it.
