And here's another one!

This time, it's an exploration of disabilities within the RWBYverse.

The Bad Batch

(Inspired by Star Wars: The Bad Batch)

During their time in Beacon Academy, Ruby would begin one of her days excited, as one of the most famous (And infamous) Teams in Huntsman history were being called to the academy by Headmaster Ozpin, and would be arriving at that day.

And so, Ruby and her team, consisting of Weiss, Pyrrha, and Yang (Team RWPY) make their way to the Bullhead landing zone, along with dozens of other students and teachers from Beacon, and watched as the large, custom Bullhead that belonged to this team landed, and revealed the people within.

Mercury Black, the frontline brawler of the team, and an amputee with robotic legs.

Penny Polendina, an autistic human girl and team tech specialist and hacker.

Melanie and Miltia Malachite, support warriors and former Siamese twins conjoined at the arms and head before they were amputated from each other, and now having robotic arms and synthetic internal organs.

May Zedong, the team's sniper, and blind in one eye thanks to a Grimm attack when she was just a child.

And their leader, Jaune Arc, who, in this universe, is forced to rely on cybernetic implants due to his MD (Muscular Dystrophy), Leaving him weak and disjointed without them.

This team would be known as the Bad Batch.

As it turned out, this team would have been formed from a support group for aspiring Huntsmen and Huntresses with disabilities, either mental and physical, and this support group would soon evolve into a unique outfit of mercenaries that would run around Remnant and doing odd jobs against bandits and Grimm for the many villages and settlements out in the world, and earning their keep amongst the greater Huntsman community.

However, they would also be discriminated against by a large portion of that same community. Because of their mercenary nature of their team, they were seen as unruly brutes and thugs by many Huntsmen, and because of the fact that all their members were disabled in some way, they were regularly treated with mockery and contempt from what should be their peers.

They hadn't even wanted to go to Beacon in the first place. They were essentially a rogue group. It had only been through the machinations of Ozpin, and the intervention of his agents in Qrow Branwen and others, that had got them dragged kicking and screaming to the academy, partly due to Ozpin wanting to make use of them, but also partly to protect them from other Huntsmen that had been trying to track them down for their own purposes, either malicious or otherwise.

And now, thanks to Ozpin, they are forced to stay at Beacon for their own protection from these Huntsmen, and must work with him against Salem's conspiracy in Vale until they are able to kick them out of the kingdom.

And so begins an exploration of both mental and physical disabilities in the RWBYverse, as multiple opinions and discussions are made by all sorts of characters, and general biases and prejudices are shown and explored within multiple characters, and even within the team itself as real life disabilities, both physical and mental, are carried over into the story and explored in this unique setting.

This story would also call into question the role of Huntsmen within the world of Remnant, as the existence of the Bad Batch- A group of mercenaries running around Remnant and taking jobs for all sorts of people against both Grimm and bandits, sometimes pricing themselves as cheaper than official Huntsmen, and just as effective- As many would consider themselves to be better than the Batch, only to remember that they themselves are training to be teams of mercenaries themselves, from a certain point of view.

And as the Bad Batch continued to interact with the people of Beacon and work against the criminals of Vale- Even coming across and befriending Neopolitan, herself a disabled fighter since she was a mute- All of these points and problems would come to the forefront.

In the face of discrimination and adversity, the Bad Batch would find many problems and enemies facing against them.

But they would get their job done, if nothing else.

Or die trying.

Not my best idea, but I think that it's about how I wrote it rather than the story itself.

I'm having a bit of a slow day, so hopefully this will help.

As always, if you wish to use any of my ideas here, then feel free to send me a message about it, and then go nuts with it!

See you next time!
