The Club
(Inspired by VA-11 HALL-A, Service with a Smile, and Mending The Knots)
The city of Vale is filled with all sorts of characters, threats, and stories. Tales of heroism and villainy commingling together as legends and myths play out before the people. Good and evil clashes together day in and day out. The halcyon sun gave way to the downtrodden night, as the forces of light and dark, good and evil, law and criminal, man and monster, fought against each other and gave way to the city of strangers and vagabonds that was Vale.
This... is not that story.
This is the story of a simple bartender in an old pub, doing his best to maintain his bar and keep his patrons happy.
Here, we find ourselves in a complete reimagining of the RWBY world, now based in a dystopian world filled with conspiracy and conflict. But those are conflicts in the background. Instead, we focus on the tale of a humble bartender by the name of Jaune Arc, working at the old bar simply known as The Club alongside Hei 'Junior' Xiong and the Malachite Twins.
Jaune is the main character of this story, but the best way to describe him would instead be a side character in a hundred other people's stories. Every single one of his patrons are the main characters of their own crazy stories, and strangely enough, they always come to The Club in order to vent their frustrations and tell their stories.
All sorts of people made their patronage in The Club, from the biggest names in the city looking for some time to themselves, to the downtrodden folk trying to make a name for themselves, to everyone in between just trying to live their lives. Some of these names include:
Neon Katt, a VTuber and streamer hoping to go big and become famous.
Weiss Schnee, a singer and corporate aristocrat trying to break away from her father's shadow.
Ciel Soleli, the only good police officer in a department riddled with corruption.
Ruby Rose, a young girl forced to take care of her alcoholic uncle and disabled mother alongside her father.
Yang Xiao Long, a gang leader who ran away from home and her younger sister.
Blake Belladonna, a gang member of a violent Faunus group hated by the whole of Vale.
Nora Valkyrie and Lie Ren, a pair of homeless people that still retain their cheer of the world.
Coco Adel, a fashionista working for a charity organisation and taking care of her girlfriend Velvet.
Sun Wukong, the leader of a gang of vigilantes known as the Sons of Suns.
Ilia Amitola, a sex worker lamenting about the treatment that she and her sisters in work get.
Penny Polendina, a NuHuman android who explores the city and world alongside her sisters, Nickel and Quarter.
Cinder Fall, which is totally her real name and is totally not planning on overthrowing the government and taking over the city, why on Remnant would you think that?
Roman Torchwick, who just wants a nice drink after a casual day of robbery.
Neopolitan, who just wants a nice drink after a casual day of murder... and also Jaune's former fling, but that's not as important...
Pyrrha Nikos, a star athlete and celebrity... and also Jaune other former fling, so... awkward.
Arslan Altan, Pyrrha's professional rival and unofficial closest friend.
And many many more.
Jaune is not the main character of their stories. He's just someone on the side, barely noticeable by anyone in the strange world that they all live in.
But he doesn't mind. He likes listening to their stories. It's always nice to know what other people are doing.
The Club is a safe space, a haven for those who wish to shelter away and forget their woes, or even just find someone to talk to and find company in.
And he wasn't about to ruin it for them, because if he could help them out just by lending an ear and hearing their stories, then he wasn't about to take that from them.
The Club is open for business.
