"This is a nice car." Twister commented from the backseat. "Thanks. It was my dad's, but they couldn't exactly take it with them to Germany." "That's where my uncle is stationed now." Sam told Twister as he drove them to the Shore Shack. "You could've lived in Germany?" Alex turned her head toward the backseat and smiled. "I could've, but I wanted to finish my last two years of high school in America. Plus, Sam's been telling me for years how great living here is." Twister smiled back as Sam pulled into the parking lot down the street from the Shore Shack.
"Hey little cuzzes!" "Hey Tito." "Hey Tito mom said hey." "Well, tell her aloha back. And who's the new cuz?" "This is my cousin Alex. She moved in today." "Nice to meet you Tito. I've heard a lot about you." "Nice to meet you too. Now what can Tito get for you three?" Alex looked at the two boys and smiled. "You guys know what's good. You pick." "You should get a 'Tito's Hawaiian burger', it's the best." Twister told her. "Sounds good to me." "I'll have the same Tito." "Make it three. With three chocolate shakes." Twister told him, giving him a few bills. "You don't have to pay, Twister." "Yeah Twist, I can cover ours." "Naw, I owe you for the last two lunches anyways bro."
The three sat down at a table in the middle of the restaurant as they waited. "It's too bad Otto and Reggie aren't here." "They'll be back before summers over." "Yeah. I guess it's cool they get to spend time with Raymundo and Noelani in Hawaii." "From what Sam's told me, I think Reggie sounds awesome!" "Yeah, Rocket girl's cool." Twister told her, smiling. Tito walked over, bringing their food. "Dig in cuzzes." ALex picked up her burger and took a bite. "Wow, this is pretty good." Tito smiled, "It's an ancient Hawaiian recipe." "Thanks Tito." Sam said. "Yea thanks Titoman." Twister said, taking a big bite of his own burger.
The three ate their lunch as Twister asked Alex questions. "So you've never been surfing?" "Yeah, it's probably one of my favorite things to do." "How 'bout snowboarding?" "Yeah, used to go every winter until last year." "Sweet." "Can I ask you a question now?" Twister smiled and said, "Sure." "Why are you carrying a camera around?" "Its the Twist cam. I always have it to record sweet moves when we surf and skate. Yo Sammy, we should show her Madtown." "Yeah we can do that. You wanna check it out Alex?" She took the last sip of her chocolate shake before answering, "Yeah, let's go."
