Chapter 1: Stuck in another world
I woke up on the green grass. My head was spinning, and I tried to make up what was surrounding me; however, I was so lightheaded that it took me at least 30 seconds to realize the most oblivious thing: everything looked like if it was in a cartoon! I could see the black outline of the rocks and trees, as if they were only drawings. I slowly looked at my hands, and realized I had been "cartoonified" too.
I looked at my surroundings: I was in a green field, with a few trees in the horizons. And in the distance, I could see something familiar: a pink village with a castle, made up of candies... And that's when it hit me: I was in the world of Adventure Time! I noticed quickly because I really had been into the series recently...
I tried to remember what had happened, and how I could've ended up there; I remember almost everything: my name is George Andres, and I am a 17-year-old boy. I live with my dad, because my mom had very recently passed away. Her death broke something inside my dad, who became violent, and would often hit me. But I didn't remember anything that could explain how I got there, I simply remember going to sleep peacefully...
I went over to a small lake, to see what I looked like "cartoonified", and I noticed something else: I looked visibly younger; I didn't notice it until now, but I also was smaller than usually. I looked like I was what, twelve, thirteen? Twelve... wasn't that how old Finn was at the start of Adventure Time?
I then saw something else in the distance: a tree house! That means that I'm in the world before the gum war... I was still not totally convinced that this wasn't a dream, but I started walking towards the treehouse to see if I could see anyone, maybe Finn or Marceline (since this used to be her house).
When I finally reached the treehouse, I knocked on the door. The door suddenly opened, and I saw... BMO!
- Hello, can I help you with anything?
Just hearing a character of a show I loved so much made me excited...
- Uh, yeah, could I talk to F-
And just as I was about to say their names, as if they were summoned,
- Hey dude, can we help you with anything?
I turned around to see Finn and Jake looking at me!
- Uh... Hey, my name is George, and I kind of come from another world? Or dimension? I think?
- Jake groaned – Oh c'mon! We just came back from an adventure, and we gotta go on another one immediately after?
I looked at Finn and Jake. They looked like they did at the start of the series, especially Finn, who later on grew quite a bit.
- Oh, come on, Jake, we can't Just leave this guy hanging! Finn said, excited. So if you came from another world, how did you end up here? Did you go through a cool portal?
- Nope, I just woke up over there, on the grass. I really don't know how I ended up here.
- How do you know it was another world? Jake asked, What if it just was another part of OOO?
- The world I come from looks, uh, pretty different. It's a lot more boring, too.
- Mm... Well, I don't know a lot about this kind of stuff, but I know someone who will probably be smart enough to bring you back, Finn said.
I discretely smiled, knowing exactly who he was talking about.
- Well, could you bring me to h- to them? I would like to go back to my world.
I know I would probably prefer to have lived in the world of Adventure Time, but I still had some friend in the real world, and even though I wasn't sure if it was mutual, I still loved my dad, and knew he used to love me too. Also, knowing the world of Adventure time, I would probably instantly die to a giant rat or something. I was not as tough or courageous as Finn.
- Her name is Princess Bubblegum, Finn said, interrupting my trail of thoughts, she really knows a lot about science and this kind of stuff. We could go right now, actually!
- Jake groaned, but followed us without complaining.
As we were walking towards PB's castle, I saw so many familiar faces, so many people I wish I could directly speak to, but never really could, and I thought that maybe my situation wasn't so bad after all.
