Hello, Stargate fans!

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while. At the end of March, my Mom passed away and I had to deal with a lot, emotionally and mentally, since we had a special bond - she was the one that always supported my writing, she got me into reading, tv-shows and crazy movies from an early age, and the original Stargate movie was one of the few that we always enjoyed watching (and re-watching) together, not to mention the shows that came after and that we were obsessed over.

I honestly thought about stopping this story, actually bringing it down, but everytime I stopped and wanted to continue.

I'm still not sure if i'll be able to post once a week, since I'm on the last stretch of the school year and it tends to get crazy, but I'll try my best.

On another note: thank you for your follows and review!

And, I just love this episode! Don't you?

Note: again, scientific terms and whatnot are not my strength, and dialogue that you already know, I've tuned it down a bit, since you already know it, I'm sure of it.

Chapter 5: Episode 3x20

"Dr. Weir, Col. Ellis is asking permission to beam down." Chuck was looking over the monitor at the information that appeared before him.

"Go ahead, Chuck." Elizabeth said with a nod.

"What do you think he's here for?" John asked, approaching her. As soon as Elizabeth told him that an Earth ship was arriving, he became curious. Just as much as anyone else, since they were not expecting anything for the next few weeks.

"We're about to find out." She gave him a quick smile, more apprehensive than he was.

Suddenly, the control room lit up and two shapes appeared.

"Alex?" John smiled, happy to see his friend.

"Col. Sheppard." She gave him a serious look, which made him frown in turn. "Dr. Weir."

"Alexandra, how are you? I wasn't informed you were on the ship."

"It was sort of a last minute decision." Alexandra answered.

"We have important things to attend." Col. Ellis sighed, frowning at the light conversation.

"Of course, sir. This way." John led the way to the conference room nearby.

Both Ellis and Alexandra explained about the Asuran fleet and how they were developing new ships to be transported across de universe. Of course, Ellis and the I.O.A had a plan to put an end to it.

"And the I.O.A. is behind this plan?" Elizabeth looked between the colonel and the scientist.

"I warned them that you wouldn't agree, Elizabeth. But with the threat of the Priors, they want to handle this matter quickly."

"And what do you think?" John looked at her, apprehensive at the new information.

"They are right in one way, but wrong in the other." Alexandra sighed, trying to be as neutral as she could be.

Giving her a look, Ellis cleared his throat as if warning her.

"There is no avoiding the matter, Col. Ellis. Dr. Weir is right. If we do this, there is no going back and Atlantis is already waging a war against the Wraith." Alexandra said with a frowned look. "They can't afford another."

"Then, let's make this plan work. Quickly." Ellis said with a final tone to his voice and posture.

"So, Major…" John found Alexandra in one of the many balconies Atlantis had.

"Actually, is more like Doctor now."

"Major Doctor?" John leaned his head to the side.

"Just Doctor. I gave up my rank a few months ago."

"Really? What happened?" He leaned against the balcony.

"A story for another time." She looked back at the ocean. "This is beautiful. I can't get enough of this."

"It is." John was curious now, given her deflection. "Are you going to stay after the replicator threat is dealt with?"

"I am... Thinking about it."

John could sense something was amiss. She avoided his questions, even his eyes. And the tense way she dealt with Ellis was different.

"When we received your transmission two years ago, I couldn't believe you were all alive." She turned to him. "I thought you would be the first one to go."

"Thank you for the vote of confidence." John mumbled, knowing full well she was just teasing him.

"I guess my uncle was right about you." Alexandra was already staring at him when he looked at her. "That you would be a great leader."

Now it was John's turn to avert his eyes, embarrassed, balancing on the balls of his feet.

Inside the building, McKay was passing by and got called on by Teyla and Ronon.

"What is going on there?" Ronon asked him when Rodney approached the window the other two were looking through.

"How would I know?" Rodney asked in his usual tone.

"They look… friendly. Which is to say much about John." Teyla said, watching his friend talk with the other woman.

"Oh! That's Alexandra O'Neill. He talks about her sometimes, haven't you noticed? She's the Alex he mentions. Long story short, they are friends. She was the one to train him about the Ancients prior to coming here two years ago."

"Her?" Ronon was curious now.

"Yes, her. She seems young but…" Rodney looked between the two and stopped. "Listen, she knows a lot about Ancients, besides me, of course. But she has her own story. Let's just leave it at that."

"And what about... Them?"

"I wouldn't stress about it. She's not his type. And I think she has someone back on Earth."

"I would bet she is his type." Teyla stated as the three saw John slid closer to Alexandra as the two kept talking.

"Whatever." Rodney said, leaving Ronon and Teyla.

"Dr. Alexandra O'Neill meet Teyla Emmagan and Ronon Dex."

"Hi!" The scientist smiled, excited, as the others joined them on the balcony a few moments later. "I'm glad I can finally meet you both. John talks a lot about you two in his reports."

"Hey!" John bumped her shoulder which made her smile. "You're not supposed to say that."

"Curious. He doesn't talk a lot about you." Teyla said, giving him a pointed look.

"Because I know as soon as you two become friends I will be put aside." He almost pouted.

"I like the sound of that." Teyla said with a mocking smile, directed at Alexandra.

"See? You two already have something in common… Both are mean."

The day went on, hours passed after the Apollo attack on the Asuran homeworld.

And all of a sudden there was a satellite hovering the blue Lantean planet.

As last measure, it is decided Atlantis is to leave Lantea.

As the colonel leaves the control room, Alexandra follows him after a nod from Elizabeth.

"Can I watch?" She asked, following John to the ancient chair room.

"Sure." John doesn't waste time, after all lives are at stake and their survival depends on him.

As they arrive to the chair room, Alexandra watches him sit down and immediately the systems come alive around them.

With difficulty, John takes the entire city into the outer space, away from the threat of the Asurans.

The former major was amazed at the fact she was watching the ancient city fly through the stars. At least, until the moment both her and John hear the news that the control room received the last brunt of the energy beam from the replicator satellite before the shield had completely closed around it.

And as the city stops on unknown coordinates, brown eyes looked into the darkness, feeling it slowly lose power and being helpless at not being able to do anything about it.

Reviews, anyone?

(I know... I had to fast forward a bit on the last part of this chapter, but I do hate small talk and I promise there will be better dialogues from now on... I hope ;) :P )
