The group kept walking through the Glimwood Tangle until they finally reached their destination: Ballonlea.
"Wow." said Lincoln as he and everyone else looks around the small town they were in; Ballonlea was surrounded by very massive trees; the area was illuminated by large glowing mushrooms, and that includes the massive blue ones near the back of the town.
"This place is amazing." said Clyde.
"Those mushrooms are huge." said Lana.
"Well, at least they help light up the city." said Sam.
"This place looks like its out of a fairy tale." said Lola as she notices the old fashioned-looking houses nearby.
"Except for the Pokemon Center." said Ronnie Anne.
"But it still has an elegant charm to it." said Lola.
"And speaking of Pokemon Centers, we should get our Pokemon treated." said Clyde.
"Totes." said Leni. The rest of the group agrees and walk over to the Pokemon Center; once there, they go inside and give the nurse their Pokemon.
"What do we do while our Pokemon are getting treated?" asked Lana.
"We can take a look at the stadium and see what it's like." suggested Lincoln.
"That sounds okay." said Luna. The group heads over to Ballonlea Stadium, checking out more of the city as they do, and looking at all its natural splendor.
"This place is really amazing." said Lincoln. They soon reach the stadium and decide to go inside to check it out. Once they get inside, they see someone that made Lincoln blush.
"Oh, hey Marnie!" said Leni, getting Marnie's attention.
"Hello, everyone." said Marnie before she looks at Lincoln and blushes.
"Hi, Marnie." said Lincoln with a smile as he looks away with a blush while his sisters giggle and Ronnie Anne frowns.
"Are you all here to challenge the gym?" asked Marnie.
"Maybe we'll do that tomorrow." said Ronnie Anne. "We planned on doing something else."
"Like what?" asked Marnie. They then tell her about the Digging Duo and how they sometimes dig up evolution items.
"We were hoping to at least find a Fire Stone to evolve Leni's Vulpix with." said Clyde.
"Well, a fire type would be able to handle fairy type moves." said Marnie.
"Yeah, we figured." said Lincoln.
"Did you challenge the gym?" asked Sam.
"Yeah, I did and I won." said Marnie as she shows everyone a badge that had a symbol that looked like a pink pixie.
"I hope I win that." said Lola.
"We all hope to win one." said Luna.
"I know you all will." said Marnie.
"So what are you gonna do next?" asked Lana.
"The next gym is in Circhester." said Marnie. "I'm going to try and earn my next gym badge there after I train up my Pokemon some more."
"Hope you win." said Lincoln, making Marnie smile a little.
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Marnie. As she walks by the group, she stops by Lincoln and gives him a little kiss on the cheek, making him blush, his sisters squeal with delight, and Ronnie Anne growl. The group then watch her walk out the doors, but not before looking back and giving Lincoln a wink.
"She, totes, likes Linky." said Leni with delight.
"Well, now what do we do?" asked Clyde.
"Let's wait for our Pokemon to get treated, then head back to the Digging Duo to see if they find anything." suggested Clyde.
"Good plan, dude." said Sam. As the group walks out the stadium doors, they were unaware that a girl with dark brown hair, wearing a dark green beret with a white puffball on it, a gray knit jacket over a magenta dress, and brown boots over green plaid socks was watching them, with her attention being most focused on Lincoln.
When everyone was outside the stadium, they use their Rotom Phones to call for some Flying Taxis to take them to the Bridge Field where the Digging Duo was located.
Once they reach their destination, they all head over to the spot where the two diggers were located.
"It's nice to see you kids again." said one of the Digging Duo guys.
"You want us to dig up more stuff for you?" asked the other one.
"You know it." said Ronnie Anne.
"Very well." said one of the Digging Duo guys. "We just need 500 watts from you." Leni uses her Rotom Phone to give the Digging Duo what they asked for.
"Thank you." said a Digging Duo guy. "Wait while we do our thing." The Digging Duo then gets to work and starts excavating the ground beneath them. Five minutes later, the two climb out of the hole they made with a bag full of items.
"Here's what we found." said a Digging Duo guy as he opens the bag to reveal he found a couple Star Pieces, an Iron Ball, a Fossilized Bird, and to Leni's joy; a Fire Stone.
"Yaay! A Fire Stone!" said Leni as she grabs the evolution item.
"That will do it for us for now." said Clyde to the Digging Duo.
"Come back anytime." said the Digging Duo. Leni then lets her Vulpix out of her pokeball, then presses the Fire Stone against her, making her start to glow, then change, before their eyes.
"What will a regular Ninetales look like?" asked Lana. She got her answer once Leni's Vulpix stopped changing; she was taller, longer, and cream colored with nine flowing tails. Leni takes out her Rotom Phone and points it at her newly evolved Vulpix.
"Ninetales, the Fox Pokemon, and the evolved form of Vulpix. Very smart and very vengeful. Grabbing one of its many tails could result in a 1,000-year curse." said Leni's Rotom Phone.
"Wicked." said Lucy as she reaches for one of Leni's Ninetales' tails.
"Please don't, Lucy." said Lola.
"Let's head back to Ballonlea and just find an inn to check into." said Lincoln. The group got back into the Flying Taxis and head back to the forest town; once there, they did as planned and just relaxed the rest of the day.
Later that night while most everyone was asleep, Lucy sneaks out and heads through the Glimwood Tangle until she reached Stow-on-Side. She then goes up to the rooftop where she first met Allister and sees him in the exact same spot with several ghost Pokemon around him.
"I'm here." said Lucy. Allister looks over at her with a small smile and scoots over to give her a place to sit which she glady does.
"I'm glad you are here." said Allister.
"So am I." said Lucy. Allister puts his hand on hers as the two look up at the moon.
