Angel: Read about the bonus chapter for the epilogue from the last volume. And...I really hope that it's in the anime, because I currently don't own the manga. If it's not in the anime, I might just add in the bonus chapter at the end, because I do think that it answers several questions I had during the 430th chapter. But they did fix one issue I had with that chapter, the other...not so much, so I'm only making one change.
Don't even ask me what will happen though with Bazuka in the timeskip, please, because I know people are gonna ask me about them. I don't want to spoil anything for the readers, and I will refuse to answer if it has to do with them specifically from season 6 and past that!
To Eddybot, I wasn't angry about getting that message about the movie. I just felt like I had to explain why I'm not uploading it until late December, just in case people asked me. Honestly, I implore people who do question it still to just look up the movie to watch it, because some scenes are pretty explicit timeline wise. Also, I did not even know you're not a native English speaker, so props to you on your English, dude! And plus, I can easily translate them, so I don't mind what language is used. Some people who speak Spanish do continue to...suggest things for characters that I respectfully disagree with to this day, though. I keep getting messages I delete to give people like Momo or Ochaco an OC love interest, which I will not change my mind on, I ship the former with Shoto. If it's been over 100 chapters, and there's been no OC love interest for anyone else suggested to speak of, that's a sign that you should move on from this topic. I can ship whoever I want and it's not your story to people who wanna try and change my mind, FIGHT ME XD One person even suggested that Izuka gets an OC love interest so that Izuku x Bakugo can happen, which...I'm obviously not gonna do-this is season FIVE OUT OF EIGHT, y'all. And I'm not even through the first half of season 6 as of now. And I don't even hate the ship, nor do I hate anyone else who ships them. But at this point, you'd be asking me to rewrite the entire story from scratch if I ever went through with that suggestion.
We were all living at school. The fall leaves were flying by UA. And as the second semester neared its end...
It was starting to become winter time. So that meant the debut of Class 1-A's winter hero costumes!
Toru giggled in excitement, shuffling around. "Aren't you excited?"
Tsuyu, Kyoka, Ochaco, Mezo, and Minoru all stared at her. "Don't you get cold like that, Hagakure?" Kyoka gave an amused smile.
"Ha ha, yeah, I'm freezing!" She revealed to her classmate.
"Everyone's costumes have changed since we started school, haven't they?" Tenya smiled a little, though his costume had went unchanged for winter, along with most of Class 1-A's. "They've adapted just as we have!"
"You're a champ," Rikido grinned while adjusting his collar. "I'm surprised you lasted through the summer in all that gear."
Izuku heard footsteps, turning to the side as Katsuki had a winter hero costume too. Denki and Eijiro surrounded him, but their costumes weren't changed. "Kacchan's is different too!"
"Huh? If you've got something to say, then say it to my face, nerd!" He retorted back to Izuku.
"Oh, he's just being my brother," Izuka spoke up as she stepped up from behind. Izuku gasped happily upon seeing her because she also had a winter outfit.
"Yours looks so pretty!" Izuku ran up to his sister, examining her.
"Look who we have here," A familiar voice spoke up, getting their attention as they looked up. "Relaxed and full of yourselves, as always." They kept looking ahead as dust was rolling in, as well as a tumble weed.
Neito was grinning while surrounded by his own class, all of them in their hero costumes. "Come on, Class A! Let's see who's best once and for all!"
The teachers in UA High School's hero course decided to pit Class 1-A against Class 1-B in combat training to test how our skills had grown.
And as expected, I got put into a team with Katsuki...but there was also a twist to the joint class training that also involved me—for reasons.
And so, the first battle would be between Tsuyu, Koji, Denki, and Eijiro vs Ibara, Jurota, Hiryu, and Kosei. The second was Yuga, Momo, Toru, and Fumikage against Kinoko, Itsuka, Shihai, and Manga. The third consisted of Tenya, Mezo, Shoto, and Mashirao to fight against Tetsutetsu, Pony, Juno, and Sen. The fourth match was Katsuki, Kyoka, Hanta, and Rikido up against Togaru, Setsuna, Yosetsu, and Kojiro. And finally, the last match was Izuku, Ochaco, Mina, and Minoru to fight Neito, Yui, Nirengeki, and Reiko.
Shinso, who wants to transfer into the hero program, was also included in the matches.
Because there were 42 of us, and they wanted to make things fair, Shinso-San and I would be placed in one team for both classes.
As the first round got underway, my classmates found themselves in trouble almost immediately.
Tsuyu looked back just as Jurota grabbed both her and Eijiro.
Before the start of the first match...
"Some of you don't know much about it," Hitoshi started off to his Class 1-A team, since he was in the first match with them. "So I'll give a simple explanation of my brainwashing Quirk." All five of them were standing in front of their base for the battle. "First off...I focus my attention on the target and think, I'm going to brainwash this person. If I can get the target to answer me after I do that, the effect is complete. The target will move according to my orders. If they get shocked, they might break free of the power, depending on how well it took hold." He learned that the hard way when he brainwashed Izuku at the Sports Festival. But he was able to get out of it, which still confused Hitoshi to this day. "I've never tried it before, but I think it's probably impossible to brainwash many people at once. My focus would be too splintered."
He figured that it was most likely the opposite of Mr. Aizawa's Quirk, since he could erase multiple Quirks no problem. Or how Izuka's main ability could affect other people just by the shooting star moving around on its own. Either that, or Hitoshi had to find a way to make it work, but it was probably too advanced to do currently. And it was actually the same thing with the binding cloth.
"No matter what, it's a powerful move," Tsuyu commented, a finger on her chin. "Especially if they're not expecting it."
"Keep in mind," Hitoshi held up a finger. "I can't make the person I brainwash talk. Also, orders that require them to think are off the table. For example: I can show the target the words Tsuyu Asui and order them to write it because they can see it. But I can't ask them what your name is and get them to answer."
Another example would be for his target to tell him a secret, but they wouldn't be able to—or write it without him showing the words of that secret. He would have to know the secret in detail, which would negate the entire point.
"I know we all kinda deal with this..." Denki pointed to where his brain was; his sharpshooter did require some thinking after all. "But isn't it hard when people learn about your Quirk? Will anyone talk to you?" He asked because Mashirao was the one who warned Izuku of it during the Sports Festival. So it was very likely that their opponents had guessed how Hitoshi's brainwashing worked and how to counteract it. Something that was another disadvantage...
"That's why I have this," He pointed to his voice modulator over his mouth. "It acts like another set of vocal cords. A vocal modulation mask. Persona Cords. If my voice goes through a mic or a megaphone, it loses its effect."
"So it has to be your real voice that they respond to," Tsuyu guessed correctly after hearing him.
"Yes. Through the variation and resonance of a number of plates, this mask can change how I speak while still making my voice heard directly," He explained to his team.
"Oh, yeah," Denki rubbed his chin after giving it some thought. "I get it."
"It changes your tone...but it's still your voice," Tsuyu looked down in thought while processing the information.
"Wow!" Eijiro grinned in awe at their teammate. "You gotta be unbeatable with that thing!"
"And...start!" Vlad King announced through some nearby speakers. The buzzer went off, Denki gasping in alarm.
"Well, that was fast!" They didn't even have time to strategize, since they wanted to know more about Hitoshi's Quirk.
"We don't have a plan, but let's just go for it!" Eijiro told them and ran off first. They followed, though Denki was the most hesitant.
Whether or not this mask is effective... Hitoshi thought to himself. He then watched Jurota tackle Tsuyu and Eijiro a few seconds later. Both of them were knocked into walls and Hitoshi glared up at their opponent. Depends on me!
Denki gasped while Hitoshi reached out to his mask. Denki's electricity would be a risk, and Hitoshi or Koji had no fighting abilities...
"Alright!" Kosei blinked in shock as it wasn't him speaking. "Take them down, Shishida!"
"Consider this our win already!" Jurota growled while holding up his arms, ready to attack.
"Shinso talked with my voice," Kosei looked at him in disbelief.
"The monster's gonna murder me!" Denki shouted in fear...but Jurota didn't attack, to his confusion. He was too focused on his impending death to realize what had happened. "Huh...?"
He copied my voice and brainwashed Shishida? Kosei looked at his nonmoving classmate in bewilderment. He then looked towards Hitoshi as he didn't think that the boy was even capable of something like that. He had seen his match with Izuku, after all. How did that happen...?
Hitoshi adjusted his mask a few times. "Now's the time to strike!" He announced while grabbing his scarf.
"I got this!" Kosei prepared his mouth. "Air Prison!" He shot out a cube-shaped air attack to trap Hitoshi into a solid-air cube shaped prison. Hitoshi gasped sharply at this as this meant he couldn't use his mask anymore. The air prisons blocked out sound. "Wake up, Shishida!" Kosei hit his hairy classmate in the back. "Come on, you beast!" He smacked Jurota in the back of the head, earning a grunt in return. Kosei then frowned at the purple-haired boy. Shinso from General Studies. He brainwashes you if you answer him, but you can break free. He watched Hitoshi hitting the air prison multiple times, but he wasn't going to be able to get out of it on brute strength. I heard about his Quirk from my classmates. But nobody mentioned he could copy voices. He then gave a big grin as with Koji trapped as well as Hitoshi, they would get the easy win.
Denki jumped towards Kosei and Jurota, electricity sparking from his body. Kosei yelped in alarm as he wasn't expecting that. "No good. He's fast!" He jumped away from Jurota's shoulder, and Jurota swiped his arm to grab Denki in his hand. He had broken free from Hitoshi's brainwashing.
But Denki wasn't afraid, in fact, he was grinning. "Ya got a good grip there, bro?" He smirked as he sent a huge shock to Jurota's body. Jurota groaned in pain and threw Denki. He landed into some pipes. The blond groaned while sitting up, holding his hurt shoulder. It sparked some electricity as he looked up at Jurota still being hit with electric shocks. "Dang. He almost fought through that jolt!"
"Shishida!" Kosei called in concern for his classmate. A tongue was suddenly flung around his waist. He yelped and looked up to see that it was Tsuyu. She had gotten back up during all of the distraction.
"I got you now!" She shouted while flinging Kosei around.
"Aw, yeah!" Denki looked up at her, holding his shoulder. "Throw that dude in jail, Tsu!" Tsuyu was running on all fours while heading to their base. Denki then heard a growl, looking up to see that Jurota was getting over the shocks. He wiped his face and then growled, heading towards Denki fast. "No way! Why aren't you passed out?!"
Jurota looked a little more crazed due to his Quirk. And it was probably why he didn't pass out. Hitoshi stared at the two from his air prison.
"Dang, did you see him?" Rikido wondered as the rest of the two classes and the four teachers were watching somewhere away from the matches. "That guy is super powerful..."
"Faster, Tsu, come on!" Ochaco cheered her on. Izuka was sitting between her and Izuku, who was taking notes. Just like he did in the Sports Festival.
"Don't you worry," Izuku gave a confident smile, earning the attention of his sister, the brunette, and Tenya. "Trust our classmates. They've got this."
"He's right!" Izuka pumped a fist, smiling as well. "We've been through a lot of villain encounters together and trained hard. Things like this won't stop any of them." She was with him when he fought off Rappa and Tengai with Fat Gum during the Hassaikai Raid. In which he fought really hard to the point of passing out. So she had no doubt about him or the rest of his team.
Meanwhile, Neito was approaching her from behind, cackling evilly. Of course, he was gonna risk his grade and ask her about Class 1-A's Quirks. He didn't really care as long as his class got an advantage of their rival one. Izuka heard his footsteps though, and turned around with a death glare.
"You. Stay the HELL. Away from me before I send you to a damn hospital," She warned darkly, causing her surrounding classmates and brother to look at her wide-eyed. Minoru honestly found it kind of hot as he drooled, reaching out to her.
"You think I'm scared of empty threats from you or your class?!" Neito smiled widely at her. "That will never stop us!" Katsuki growled in annoyance as he watched and pushed past people to storm towards them.
"Monoma!" Itsuka warned her classmate as she came up from behind.
"It's worth it, Kendo! Because with her secrets, we'll-"
She smacked his neck and dragged him away before Katsuki could do anything, which was probably for the best. Ochaco, Tenya, and Izuku looked at her awkwardly. Izuka slowly shook her head at Neito. He doesn't even care about his own grade to be that dedicated to deeming his class superior...
That's it, my darling angel. Save your anger for later Minoru was just about to touch her breasts when she grabbed his hand. He flinched while looking at her wide-eyed. She looked pissed off as she gave him a scary expression.
"Mineta…do not let me tell Katsuki or Mr. Aizawa," She whispered as no one noticed where his hand was going to end up, yet. "Walk away now and you get to keep your hands for the rest of your life."
"Y-Yes, ma'am," He murmured in fear as he backed away from her. She huffed while adjusting her clothes. Honestly, if someone tried her patience again one more time in the span of a minute, she would not hesitate to attack them. Even if she would get in trouble for it.
Katsuki looked really irritated but also proud that she was able to notice it in time. Because she didn't realize that he was within earshot. I know two people whose asses are gonna get kicked later. Both of them were lucky to say the least that Katsuki wasn't on a team with Minoru and wasn't fighting Neito. Because if he was, he wouldn't hold back on either of them. He then realized that he was acting way unlike himself about the whole thing. When he shouldn't even care because other people handled it.
He flinched upon the realization, letting out a small tsk. Why am I being so damn protective? It's not like she means that much to me Katsuki closed his eyes, crossing his arms. Even though the kiss didn't mean anything still…the instinct of wanting to protect her was very strong. And he knew he could never turn that off. He looked away with a blush on his face. So she's a damn good kisser. That doesn't mean shit. So why the hell can't I stop thinking about it? He glanced back up towards Izuka; if she knew of his presence, she certainly didn't show it. One of these days, she needs to know who's supposed to be doing what. I can't let her get the upper hand over me.
Eijiro broke himself out of the pile of pipes with a yell. He looked around to assess the situation, flinching in alarm to see Hitoshi and Koji trapped. "Koda!" He ran up to Koji first. The air wall should be weak enough to break easily He hoped, as he had seen Katsuki do it with just a single punch. However...back then, it was much weaker and Katsuki was pretty strong to break out. He lunged a fist forward to punch the prison, but it didn't break at all. "Nope. Pretty tough. In that case..." He got into his Unbreakable mode. "Let's...do this!" He tried again, and the air prison broke into pieces easily, freeing Koji.
"Thanks, Kirishima!" He said gratefully to his classmate.
Tsuyu was carrying Kosei on her back, her tongue completely wrapped around his body like a backpack. She landed near Eijiro and Koji. "I won't let him escape!" She then hopped off to go put him into their jail.
"Nice!" Eijiro grinned, turning to see Jurota coming in. He and Koji stood their ground as the red-haired boy reinforced his Unbreakable mode. "And we'll make sure to stop this guy!"
"Fly to me, little ones," Koji ordered some insects. "Please, lend me your strength!" They started flying over to him.
"Come get some!" Eijiro challenged the hairy Class B boy. "Red Gauntlet!" He held out his hand. Both of them attacked...but Jurota slipped right past them like it was nothing. He wasn't in his Beast mode anymore either.
"Back to my human mode."
Jurota Shishida. Quirk: Beast. His physique bulks up whenever he activates his power. But he goes back to normal when he turns it off.
He then landed safely behind the two boys, looking up with a big grin. "And the animal returns!" He grabbed Eijiro and Koji with his hands. "Only one of you can stand up to my strength. You're a tough one, Kirishima," He looked towards Eijiro, as he and Koji were trying and failing to break free. "So you'll go first!" He swung his arm to throw Eijiro into the sky. He let out a scream as he was sent flying.
Hitoshi looked up as he knew what direction his teammate was going in. "That's where she is!"
Eijiro yelped as he was heading right towards Ibara, unable to stop himself. She looked up to see him in the sky. "I've spotted a lost sheep, plummeting from the sky." Her hair moved and Eijiro let out another scream. Unfortunately, she had captured him.
"Oh no!" Ochaco frowned in worry towards the screen. "I can't believe they caught him!"
"Poor Kirishima," Izuka's eyes saddened a little. He didn't have any time to prevent Ibara's vines from catching him. Not even his Unbreakable form could break out of those, no matter how much he tried. "Shiozaki's a tough opponent to overwhelm..."
"Agreed," Tenya nodded a little bit sadly. "But Asui managed to ensnare Tsuburaba." He noticed that for Class B, one of their markers had said captured as well.
"The odds are still even," Shoto remarked as some of the classmates looked up ahead a little nervous for Eijiro's loss. Especially since he was in the top ten for strongest classmates for Class 1-A.
Katsuki narrowed his eyes knowingly. "No. They're definitely not."
Koji muffled while trying to get Jurota to release him. I can't talk. He's too strong!
Before Jurota could throw him to Ibara, he sniffed the air as he caught the scent of two people. And those would be Denki and Tsuyu. Denki attacked first, using his sharpshooter multiple times. Tsuyu then flung her tongue.
"I know what you're trying!" Jurota shouted while jumping up to avoid the both of them. Both of them gasped from his reaction time, as it was almost as good as Katsuki's. Jurota landed on a pipe and jumped up, still holding onto Koji. I evaded, but Koda is not making this easy. I can't fight while carrying him. Best to withdraw. And tilt the scales of this battle in our favor! He jumped on multiple platforms and pipes to reach his team's base. He successfully put Koji inside and Hiryu closed it, as he was guarding the area.
"And with that, we're up two to one," He reported to his classmate.
Koji and Eijiro were ashamed of themselves for losing. Eijiro was wrapped up in Ibara's vines as Koji let out a defeated sigh.
"Sorry I failed, Koda..." Eijiro murmured in disappointment to his classmate. And he was going to apologize to his team too after the match was over...
Meanwhile, it was quiet for Kosei as so far, he was the only one the Class 1-A team had captured. "I can't believe she captured me..." Like Koji and Eijiro, he also wasn't too happy for his defeat. He covered his mouth in a bit of embarrassment as he found the fact that she had her tongue wrapped around him...a little too much. "With her tongue...!" His face was also red.
Denki had found a pipe to try and break Hitoshi out, since they didn't have Eijiro anymore. "This is stronger than it was at the Sports Festival. He got better!" He swung again, but it didn't work. Tsuyu also had a pipe in her hands.
"Class B's been training hard!" Tsuyu pointed out as she hit the prison next.
"Yeah, they've definitely upped their game since we last fought 'em, huh?" Denki couldn't help but respect them a little. "One more!" His swing broke the prison.
"Oh? What's this? Class B is already pulling ahead?" Vlad King wondered as he looked at the map. It showed how many were captured, how many were left on the field, and who was where. They were marked by colored dots: red for Class A, blue for Class B. Midnight and Toshinori stared at Vlad King awkwardly for his commentary as it sounded a little too proud... "Each team has three competitors left, but it's obvious Class B is setting themselves up for a win. I can't say I'm surprised, given their brains and brawn." Even Mr. Aizawa wasn't too pleased by hearing this... Vlad King grinned widely; clearly, Neito was influencing him too much... "My superior students are attacking furiously. Looks like they'll finally crush Class A!"
"Yeah!" Neito was very happy to hear this, since usually, either Vlad King or Itsuka would tell him to stop. But hearing his teacher being like him was refreshing. "Keep bringin' the truth, Mr. Vlad!"
"Stop with the biased commentary!" Mina frowned as she, Kyoka, and Yuga had protest signs against this. One sign said against biased commentary, while the other said that Mr. Vlad should comment impartially.
"Mmm," Izuka glared a bit at the teacher while overhearing them. She was definitely not a fan of it either. She shook it off and looked up ahead. "Anyway, Shishida-San has a lot going for him."
"That beast is strong," Hanta looked over to Rikido. "He'll be hard to take down."
"And his sense of smell is no joke either," Rikido nodded in agreement with him.
Shinso Mr. Aizawa looked up at the screen. I'm afraid your inexperience is showing.
He was ready to attack with the binding cloths Izuku was noting this in his notebook. But he reacted after seeing the enemy. He can't keep up with the intense speed of the battle. If Hitoshi had the experience of the twins, Katsuki, Tenya, or Shoto, being able to avoid the air prison would've been easy. All five had training when it came to speed, both physically and mentally. But it was very clear that Hitoshi didn't have the mindset to react quickly in a situation like this. Compared to Class 1-A and even Class B, he didn't have the fighting experience or a high strategy skill most of them had... They need another way to take advantage of Shinso's abilities.
Come on, guys Izuka crossed her fingers with hope for them. You've got this, I know you do!
Hitoshi got onto his feet, looking at his remaining teammates. He knew that they had to do something, and something fast. It was 3 against 3 now, but if they didn't have a plan, they would lose.
"What should we do, Tsu?" Denki asked the frog-like girl. "We're losing."
"We spent too much time trying to understand Shinso's Quirk instead of planning," She pointed out the obvious. "They took us completely by surprise."
"This is my fault," Hitoshi started turning the knob from his mask. He had to take responsibility for not only his poor reaction time, but for spending too much thought into proving himself. Instead of working with his team and having no plan. "I should've been able to move faster to capture them. I'm sorry."
"No, we should be apologizing," Tsuyu interjected; none of them could really blame him for not being that experienced. They knew that he wasn't compared to them. And it wouldn't be fair to compare him to other classmates with faster reaction time. "You ended up having to fight the other team without any help from us. I blame myself for not having a smarter strategy."
"Yeah, don't beat yourself up," Denki agreed with her, still holding his shoulder. "For someone who's not used to this, you had solid intuition. No one got too hurt. And I needed to be rescued too," He gave a sheepish smile. "This kinda thing just comes with the territory, I guess. I know you said earlier you weren't planning on making friends. But I like you, Shinso," He looked up with a slightly happy expression. "You're totally a future hero!"
Hitoshi looked away after hearing this, as he wasn't used to having too many friends. Usually, they'd just make assumptions about his Quirk, so he kept to himself usually. Plus, it wasn't his top priority in UA. And yet they still wanted to work with him...
"Whatever," He snapped out of it. "We need a new plan."
"I have an idea," Tsuyu offered, getting their attention. She then moved down her sleeve, excreting her mucus. "Kaminari, look for your pointers."
"Uh...Okay..." He was a bit weirded out at where this was going.
"You used me as a decoy for an ambush?" Ibara had a spotlight over her, sparkling. "Ah, what a sinful act of deception. I fear I must whip you now."
"Wait, what?!" Jurota yelped towards her, as he had just finished explaining why they had her be stationary during the fight. He, Ibara, and Hiryu had regrouped to strategize. But getting whipped was definitely something he wasn't expecting to hear. "But we succeeded in our mission! If we catch two more members of their team, we can beat them! Now we know about Shinso's voice changer, so if we grab him and Asui, while ignoring Kaminari, there's no way we can lose!"
"That sounds about right," Hiryu rubbed his chin. "It's disappointing that we lost Tsuburaba, though."
Jurota suddenly caught someone's scent, grunting as he looked up. "Trickery!" He could sense Tsuyu hopping around.
"What is it, Shishida?" Hiryu wondered while Jurota was sniffing...but something seemed off.
"This will sound strange. I'm not sure what it means...but there are three Asuis heading our way!" He knew that she couldn't clone herself, she could do anything a frog could. So he was very confused on why he could smell three Tsuyus all of a sudden.
"Three frogs?" Hiryu was just as confused as his classmate. "So that must be their strategy! They're fooling your sense of smell."
"If that's the case, I must chastise them," Ibara grew her hair longer, opening her eyes. "Devious schemes are hallmarks of defilement..." She held out her arms, her hair moving around behind her.
"There are three Asuis heading our way!" Jurota stated from the screen as the two classes continued watching.
"I don't get what Shishida's saying," Sen admitted to some of his classmates. "She can't multiply herself like Mr. Ectoplasm does, right?" He rubbed his chin in thought. "There should only be one of her..." The screen wasn't helping either, as it only showed the dots currently, not who was who.
Minoru looked up at Izuku. "Is this the plan I think it is?" He whispered to his green-haired classmate.
"Yeah, it's that power," Izuku smiled knowingly, as this ability was something that she only disclosed to the two of them during the USJ incident. And it was something she rarely disclosed, so not many people knew about it. The live cams showed that there weren't any duplicates of Tsuyu: Denki and Hitoshi were still active. "She told us all about it. But I've never actually seen her put it in action before."
"So let's talk Quirks," Tsuyu started off at the Shipwreck Zone at the USJ. Villains surrounded the boat that she, Izuku, and Minoru were hiding in. "I'll go first if you want. Obviously, I can jump high and cling to pretty much any wall. And of course there's my tongue. I can stick it out about 20 meters. Oh yeah, and I can spit out my stomach so I can clean it. That's not really useful. Finally, I also secrete a toxic mucus. It just stings a bit."
Izuku and Minoru both smiled knowingly. "Toxic mucus saves the day!" Both of them exclaimed in unison, though Izuku admired it differently than Minoru did. Because of course, Minoru had dirty thoughts on his mind about the mucus.
"Should I be concerned?" Izuka glanced at Minoru a bit skeptically. "Actually, scratch that, I think I'm more disgusted than anything," She gagged a little while looking away as she did NOT want to know where Minoru's mind was going about the mucus.
Tsuyu didn't really like using her mucus. Similar to when she pumped her stomach to get out the cuffs during her practical exam, she just found it gross. So those 2 factors of her Quirk were often the least used.
"She coated her two teammates with it to cover their smell!" Izuku smiled knowingly as Hitoshi and Denki were covered in it.
"Even we almost forgot about it, so there's no way Class B will guess what's going on," Minoru stated in realization. This gave the three remaining classmates the elements of surprise, since it was an ability she didn't admit. And she never used it during the Sports Festival either, so that gave her team even more of an advantage.
Denki gave a wide grin as they enacted their plan.
"Kaminari, look for your pointers."
"Uh...okay," He was a bit weirded out at where this was going.
"During the fight earlier, one of them stuck to Shishida's pocket," Tsuyu pointed out, a detail that no one else noticed.
"My pointer babies stick wherever they happen to land!" Denki could remember Mei explaining before he received the new gear. "And with these super-cute glasses, you can always pinpoint their location!"
"You were really watching carefully, huh?" Denki looked at his classmate in a bit of awe. "Amazing, Tsu!"
"I would say it's more amazing that you didn't notice yourself," Tsuyu replied, since it was his pointer...
Denki gripped a pipe and vaulted over it. He and Hitoshi were following Tsuyu. "Shishida's nose might be their biggest asset," She guessed that was how he managed to find them earlier to attack. He had enough time to gain their scent and gain the upper hand.
"I sniffed you out with my acute sense of smell!" Jurota revealed to them with a laugh.
"We should assume that, no matter what we try, he'll always know our locations," She informed her team.
"And we'll use that against him. Right?" Hitoshi guessed correctly; Ibara may have been the toughest to capture, but Jurota was just as tough.
"Three people who smell like Tsu. So as long as he doesn't see us, he'll have no idea which one of us is which!" Denki grinned confidently at their advantage. He then used his goggles to locate his pointer that was still on Jurota. "It looks like he hasn't noticed the pointer yet, either. He's just hangin' out."
"Ideally, we would know where his other two classmates are," Hitoshi pointed out to him, since it could mean a trap.
"Instead of trying to figure that out, we should get the beast man while we can! His powers are way too much trouble," Denki then looked over to Tsuyu in a bit of concern. "Speaking of, are you okay, Tsu? You went flying earlier." He was surprised that she didn't have any scratches or bruises on her.
"I was mostly able to control the fall," She explained while focusing up ahead. "But I doubt I'll have much luck if I try fighting him head on."
A bunch of Ibara's vines were covering pipes and the ground. "By the power of my true name: Vine. I will judge the wretched schemers." She was extending her vine-like hair a lot more than last time, Jurota and Hiryu standing behind her. "Via Dolorosa! Locations. Sniff them out for me, Apocalypse Beast." And Vine was the hero name that she had chosen before internships.
He sniffed the air again to see if there was a change in scent. "Ten o'clock. Twelve o'clock. Two o'clock. They've fanned out and are heading this way! And one more thing...do not call me Apocalypse Beast!" He pointed to his classmate. "My hero name is still Gevaudan!"
Hiryu's hero name was Dragon Shroud. He rubbed his chin while thinking. "If all three of them are approaching, they must know where we are. Is there anyone on their team who has recon powers?" Just by knowing their Quirks and having seen them in the Sports Festival, he couldn't think of anyone. That ability only applied to Koji, and they already had him captured. "Uh?" He then finally noticed the pointer on Jurota's pants. "Uh...hey wait, Apocabeast? Something's stuck to you."
"Hm?" He glanced down to his pants to see the object.
"It looks like part of Kaminari's gear," Hiryu pointed out to him.
"One person captured," Ibara reported to the both of them, and they looked up. "I will drag them into the light."
"Be ready for anything," Hiryu warned as her vines started to pull backwards. "We don't know who it is! Kaminari could be coming in hot."
And it was Denki as just like in the Sports Festival, he was wrapped up in Ibara's vines. "Right about that!" He gave them a big grin. "Sucks to be you! Hope you had a good time. Cause you three are about to taste a triple shock!"
"A sacrificial lamb," Ibara murmured as she realized what was going on. She moved her vines and Denki yelped as she held up a vine-hair shield. Except unlike last time, it was more thicker. "Faith's Shield!" She then looked up, and Denki wasn't in sight. "The many layers of vines have sealed off his electricity, and even if anything gets through...the shield will cast it aside." Behind her Faith's Shield was a clump of hair that had Denki trapped inside. "It's a perfect protector."
Denki looked up with a big grin. There was a section from Ibara's hair where he could still see. "Oh, I got this. Your overgrown hair extensions won't save you! If I'm within ten meters of a pointer...my powers shoot straight for it!" And thanks to Jurota, he was exactly where he needed to be. He fired off his electricity towards the pointer. Hiryu flinched and fired scale-like projectiles at the pointer. It bounced off Jurota's pants easily. The electricity hit the pointer, giving off a shock nearby. Denki groaned at his tactic not working. "No way!" He was then completely covered in Ibara's hair so that he wouldn't pull that off again.
"That was close!" Hiryu gritted his teeth a little. Parts of his shoulder, face, and hands were covered in scales.
Hiryu Rin. Quirk: Scales. He generates hard scales all over his body! He can shoot them, or they can act as armor!
Ibara's hair started to tear off as she lowered Denki to the ground. "Next! Hurry up and get your vines ready!" Hiryu ordered Ibara while she looked inside of her trap.
"Right. Where are the others hiding?" She then flinched as she was frozen because...it wasn't actually Hiryu who had spoken to her.
"No!" The real Hiryu exclaimed in disbelief. "That wasn't me talking just now! It was Shinso's voice modifier!"
Hitoshi was hiding somewhere in the pipes so that they wouldn't find him, but he was close enough to be able to use his Quirk on them. Hitoshi narrowed his eyes at turning the tables on them.
"Vines? Seriously?" Denki questioned in disbelief as he and the others looked up ahead. They could see Ibara's vines covering the area. "We're gonna have to deal with Shiozaki too..."
"It's over if she catches us," Hitoshi pointed out; they were a good distance away from their opponents that they couldn't be able to see them. "Should we turn back?"
"Hold up," Denki suddenly looked up. "It's possible I have an idea," He then gave a big knowing grin. "What if I'm the only one of us who gets captured?"
"But why?" Tsuyu wondered as she got onto her feet.
"If they think I'm like the big bad out here...I'm the last person they'll wanna draw close," He explained, since to Class B, he was the one to watch out for the most. "And during the Sports Festival, Shiozaki had to use a ton of vines to protect against my electricity." He remembered that she had to use a good amount of her hair to hold him back during that match. "I'll go wild and become the focus of their attacks, then she'll have fewer vines to work with. You get it? Pretty smart guy, huh? Denki out!" He grinned while stepping backwards.
He assumed that her limit was that if she used too much hair, she'd run out. As he moved backwards, his foot stepped on a stray vine on the ground. He yelped as he was immediately captured and dragged towards the Class B team.
Hitoshi gripped his scarf tightly. "Maybe I underestimated my teammates. Even he can be clever. That's the difference experience makes," He murmured to himself, giving a small glare. He now had a bigger taste of what it meant to be in the hero class. In the Sports Festival, he only had a small sense of what it was like. "This is the hero course..."
Hiryu gritted his teeth as he looked up. It was complete silence as he knew that Denki couldn't be alone. Jurota said he sensed three...so the bigger question was where were the other two classmates? And where was Hitoshi to be able to pull off brainwashing Ibara? I can't tell where the voice came from. He's using echoes to hide his position. Hiryu then turned towards Jurota, hoping he could sniff out Hitoshi. "Shishida? Where is the enemy hiding?" Jurota ran right past him on all fours, to his confusion as his hairy classmate was silent. "Using words would be helpful! Hello? Seriously?!" He didn't get any response whatsoever. Jurota wasn't brainwashed; they all knew Hitoshi couldn't reach them all at once. "Ai-yah. You'd be safe if you just looked at my mouth, you know. Okay, fine! New plan is to wake Shiozaki up."
Suddenly, Ibara was captured by Tsuyu's tongue and dragged away. Hiryu immediately fired his scales, but they cut through the girl's vine-like hair. Ibara was placed on the ground, away from Hiryu since he couldn't jump or climb like she could.
"I can jump faster than you can shoot your Scale Bullets," She explained, earning an angry yell from him. He pointed his arms upwards to continue firing. And like she said, Tsuyu jumped along the pillars and pipes to avoid them. He gritted his teeth as she had too much training to be able to get hit.
She's too agile for me to hit. He then turned towards Jurota, who actually wasn't paying any attention to what was going on. "Shishida! Asui's here!" Jurota was punching through pipes as he still didn't say a word to his classmate. Hiryu was starting to feel a little freaked out since their team was losing now. Communication's breaking down. He looked up ahead, only for Tsuyu to use her camouflage and strike him while he was distracted.
"Ribbit!" She shouted while revealing herself, his scales flying off. He let out a painful groan.
Jurota was tossing away pipes and breaking through them to find Hitoshi. Right now, he was the main target to go after. Otherwise, he would brainwash him and Hiryu one by one if Jurota continued focusing on Denki like they planned to. Based on the movement of the scent, I can tell where the true Asui is. Which means the person hiding here...is definitely Shinso. He huffed while searching as fast as he could. Impressive. You say you're behind us. His heightened senses were definitely giving him an advantage as he could see clearly and move fast enough to break through the path. But you're a terrifying opponent. And his instincts were correct as Hitoshi was not too far away from him. I consider you a proper threat already.
Hitoshi prepared himself as he saw Jurota coming. He smashed through more pipes, stepping forward as Hitoshi stood in front of him. As the smoke cleared, it was just the two of them up against each other.
Hitoshi reached out to the knob from his mask. "You're pretty good," He complimented while speaking in Hiryu's voice still.
Jurota's eyes widened as he clamped his mouth shut. I won't fall for that ruse! He raised up his arm to take down his opponent.
But Eraser Head taught me well! He swung his scarf, using it to capture a pipe. It then broke off from its place, falling onto Jurota's head hard. "Binding cloth!"
Jurota was shaking from the hit, gritting his teeth to try and hide the pain. Not bad...Not bad at all. He glared down at Hitoshi as he could respect the boy's tactic. That didn't mean it worked, though. But villains aren't taken out so easily. He loomed over Hitoshi, who froze. They'd never be defeated by something like that!
Hitoshi looked up at him wide-eyed. "DODGE!" Hiryu's voice shouted, but it wasn't coming from Hitoshi this time.
I told you! Jurota raised his arm again.
"Behind you! Look out, Apocabeast!" Jurota didn't seem to realize that the voice was authentic this time around. The hairy beast-like boy came charging in towards Hitoshi.
I won't let you brainwash me ever again! His eyes widened as he realized...Hitoshi wouldn't call him that name. Because he didn't actually hear Hiryu address him as such earlier with Ibara, therefore Hitoshi wouldn't call Jurota that. Or would even know that name. "Huh? Apocabeast?"
"Come on!" Hiryu pleaded while Tsuyu came in from behind, swinging her tongue. "Duck! Please!" He shouted as Tsuyu had him captured with her tongue. She tossed the boy into his classmate hard, both of them grunting in pain.
"Sorry about that," Tsuyu called out to the both of them. Both of them landed on the ground in front of Hitoshi. She landed on all fours, Hitoshi a little shocked that she managed to take them both out. Especially since strength-wise, Jurota had all five of them beat.
"Alright!" Ochaco cheered happily at this, raising her fists in the air.
"Yes! Expertly done," Tenya praised his frog-like classmate.
"Tsu managed to take them both down, that's amazing!" Izuka smiled, clapping a little.
"Hey, Shinso's awesome," Minoru couldn't help but comment. "I'd say he's good to transfer."
"No..." Izuku murmured at his notebook, knowing that Hitoshi's scarf only harmed Jurota. It wasn't enough to take the stronger classmate down on his own. "Asui and Kaminari's quick thinking let him shine. That's why he did so well," He then smiled towards the screen. "That's teamwork! By erasing their smells with Asui's mucus...making them hard to pinpoint, and using the vocal modifier, they made it so the other team couldn't communicate." If Jurota had stopped to listen to Hiryu, the Class A team probably wouldn't have gotten the advantage that they did. Or if Hiryu had calmed down to try and stop Jurota a little better. Izuku smirked towards Hitoshi, as he couldn't wait even more to have a rematch with him. With enough time to prepare...he was able to control the fight and use their paranoia against them!
They watched as Tsuyu approached the two opponents to capture them. "Brainwashing," Shoto murmured towards Hitoshi. "It's an even more annoying Quirk than I thought it was before." He thought that like Izuku, the Class B team would easily break out of it since they had seen it happen. But instead, they let their guard down multiple times.
Katsuki let out a small sigh as he was inclined to agree with Shoto for a rare time ever since starting UA. "Plus with Shinso-San's scarf, he was able to distract Shishida-San long enough for Tsu to take him out!" Izuka smiled, her eyes shining in a little bit of awe.
Katsuki flinched as he overheard this, and it only solidified Shoto's point even more. In more ways than one. God damn it...at least she's not on any teams with him and isn't fighting him in any capacity. If he had to watch her gush over Hitoshi while fighting him, he wouldn't have been able to handle it. It still pissed him off though.
Izuku closed his notebook as he felt like there was much more to discover with Hitoshi's abilities and skills. With his voice changing support item and the binding cloth...he's completely different from the person I fought at the Sports Festival. I'm sure he's been training hard this whole time without us knowing. It had been months since Hitoshi had seen any of them...yet despite his inexperience, he had signs of significant improvement. It reminded Izuku of his own training with Toshinori, since only Katsuki knew the secret behind One for All.
The boy then turned away from Izuku. "...You can't help the things your heart longs for," He said simply after his match.
Izuku smiled as he remembered feeling a little sorry for Hitoshi then. But now...he saw the boy as a proper rival instead of pitying him, and related to him. He's working hard to achieve his dream. In order to become a hero. Even if he had to face Hitoshi later...he was proud of the progress that the boy had made ever since the Sports Festival. And Izuku would fight just as hard later on.
And so, with 4 to 2, Class A won the first match of the joint training.
"Hey, Shiozaki, wake up!" Kosei tried and failed to wake her up. She was still brainwashed, and her hair had been cut off to get Denki out. Once he shook her, she snapped out of it.
"Why am I in the prison...? What happened here?!" She looked around in alarm. She saw that Hiryu and Jurota...had been trapped with her own hair. The Class A team had used what was left of it to tie them up, since Hitoshi needed his scarf for later. She yelped in horror to see them. "I was forced to complete these vile actions?!" She clasped her hands, another spotlight falling on her. "I failed my flock...Please forgive me. I have sinned..."
"No, Shiozaki! Stay with me!" Kosei attempted to snap her out of it. "We just got you back!"
Tsuyu looked up at Hitoshi in silence.
"And I'm already countless steps behind. I need to prove myself," Hitoshi declared to the two classes.
"You're not behind at all," She suddenly stated, causing him to gasp as he looked at her. "I don't think we could have won this fight without you, Shinso."
"I'm not nearly where I need to be," He reached out to his mask. Just because they won didn't mean he was at the level that the hero course was right now. "I can't let others carry me. I need to grow strong enough to become a pro hero on my own."
The Class A team was officially declared the winners and Mr. Aizawa closed his eyes, content with Hitoshi's actions out there. Vlad King on the other hand was not as he was very disappointed. He gritted his teeth angrily. "Despite their failures...the team of Class A plus Shinso are the winners!"
"Seriously?" Izuka murmured at the Class B teacher in bewilderment. She then glanced towards Momo and her team. This is where it starts. From here on out...Momo and I are opponents.
A hand was placed on her shoulder and she glanced up to see Izuku smiling at her. "You're gonna do great out there, big sis."
"Mmhm!" Ochaco and Tenya nodded sharply in agreement with him. Izuka blinked and then gave a happy smile towards the three for their support. Even though she had no idea how it would go...she knew that her strong friendship with Momo wouldn't change anything between them after the match.
