Angel: If I recall correctly, I originally had hesitation about having Izuka's Quirk act out. But I recently finished an episode that addresses this from season 6. And I don't wanna give away too much information on it because that particular chapter will get released around January or February of next year. I don't plan on making it a frequent occurrence, though. But gee…makes you wonder who or what could make her so mad she would react differently than usual, hmm~?
I personally do find Neito annoying, but he's not as bad as some other people in the anime that I have hatred towards. Especially given how season 7 handled him. On a good day, I would give him a 7 out of ten. Other days, probably a 4…certain people have done WAY worse in the anime than just pettiness. And Shinso I find interesting as well, I do wish he got a bit more screen time than he got. It was cool that they kept bringing him back. And these two characters are not my absolute favorites or anything, but I also don't fully hate them. They're both…relatively good on the scale for me.
"Look who we have here," A familiar voice spoke up, getting their attention as they looked up. "Relaxed and full of yourselves, as always. Obviously, you underestimate us." They kept looking ahead as dust was rolling in, as well as a tumble weed.
Neito was grinning while surrounded by his own class, all of them in their hero costumes. "Come on, Class A! Let's see who's best once and for all!"
The first match was between Tsuyu, Koji, Denki, and Eijiro vs Ibara, Jurota, Hiryu, and Kosei. Tsuyu was camouflaged while crawling onto a wall, scoping for anyone from Class B. She looked back just as Jurota grabbed both her and Eijiro. Tsuyu's camouflage disappeared as well.
Classes 1-A and 1-B from the hero courses at UA High are battling it out against one another in team combat training.
With some added twists here and there. Not only would our improvements with our Quirks be assessed, but also how the matchups work well.
In the first match, special guest Shinso succeeded in disrupting his opponent's ability to communicate. It ended with a win for our classmates.
This will make the buildup to my brother's later match with Shinso really high. But first, we'll have to see how the rest of the matches go! Speaking of matches...the next one involves me up against one of my best friends, Momo.
"Kay, team!" Itsuka announced as she, Kinoko, Shihai, Izuka, and Manga all bumped their fists together. "Let's go!"
"Right!" The four called out as they took off into a run.
"We'll start reconnaissance immediately," Momo suggested to her team. "If you please!"
"Roger," Fumikage didn't have to question it. "Now, Dark Shadow!"
"Got it!" Dark Shadow went flying off.
"Report back when you find the enemy," Fumikage ordered as they watched the Quirk do his thing.
"Leave it to me!" Dark Shadow started searching a couple of feet away from the team, looking around at high points. This was so they could see Izuka since she knew how to fly at this point.
Itsuka looked up as Izuka was still jumping up and down on stars, and they remained in place. However, noticeably, the stars were almost too far away from each other.
With that, the second match started.
Izuka grinned, her stars moving behind her and then up around Dark Shadow. The entity flinched and then Izuka let herself fall as the stars gave off a small explosion of fire. Izuka then ran forward and summoned another flying star to zip away from the area. Dark Shadow let out a painful yelp and Fumikage flinched.
"So that was her strategy," Momo murmured as she realized what happened. "I have to commend her for using it like that without telling them..."
Dark Shadow snapped out of it and went past a pipe with a yell. Shihai fell down from the pipe with a big grin. "Into the abyss..."
Fumikage, Yuga, Toru, and Momo continued running up ahead. Fumikage blinked in confusion. "Stand back!" He embraced the attack of being knocked into by Dark Shadow.
Class B's Kuroiro caught Class A by surprise with an attack from the shadows.
Shihai kept flying around the area. Instead of heading for Fumikage...he flew towards Momo, Toru, and Yuga. He gripped Yuga's cape from behind, earning a terrified yelp. Yuga was then pulled backwards away from his team. Shihai was in the pipes again, so no one could see him dragging around Yuga like a rag doll.
The bird-headed boy was actually flying after them the whole time.
But Tokoyami caught up to him thanks to his new move: Dark Fallen Angel. It's unclear who has the upper hand now. This is still anyone's match.
"Navel Buffet!" Yuga gave off several lights in the sky to draw out Shihai. And it worked as Shihai came out of hiding.
"There he is, Hagakure!" Momo could see him hanging onto a pipe.
"I see him! Let's nab him!" Toru jumped off a pipe and Shihai landed just a few feet away from them.
"That's as far as you go!" Momo yelled as he whipped around, seeing that the girls were cornering him.
"We won't let you escape!" Toru shouted and he moved back, only for them to move towards the boy.
"Launching a surprise attack alone. Bold move. And certainly unexpected," Momo narrowed her eyes towards him. "No matter. Because I expect the unexpected!"
"Oh, I don't know about that," Shihai had a mischievous look on his face as he turned around and ran a couple of feet.
"Stand down!" Momo ordered, but he didn't listen.
"You don't know when you're beat!" Toru screamed as they started to chase after him...but then a mushroom appeared on Momo's nose. She gasped as she came to a stop, and then yelped as a shooting star was coming for her. She narrowly managed to avoid it, blinking in bewilderment. Toru yelped as well as some were on her body. "Mushrooms? What the heck?" She cried out as more of them popped up. She then jumped backwards from a ricochetting shooting star. "And those are Mido's attacks!"
Shihai laughed as he looked up. "So it's true. Kendo and your own classmate are better than you."
Itsuka was standing alone with a small smile at her plan working.
"It's just like our brilliant class rep said, shroom! If we see too much light, then plan A failed," Kinoko was behind the mushrooms, chuckling as many more mushrooms were appearing around her. "So we start plan B," A mushroom appeared from her own finger. "Cute little mushrooms for everybody. And for Mido to attack undetected, shroom!" Kinoko gave a happy grin.
Meanwhile, Izuka was hiding in the shadows on top of a pipe nearby Kinoko. She was kneeling while her moon bow and arrow were in her hands. A small black hole was nearby her, which she was using to fire and then have it appear where the girls were. This was giving Class B so far the advantage...
More mushrooms appeared on Momo's cape, catching her off guard. "There's more?" She tried to dust them off, to no avail.
Toru yelped because now with the mushrooms growing on her body, she couldn't use her invisibility that well. "Not cool! Not cool! You can see my body!" The pipes nearby started to get covered in mushrooms as well. The two then looked up as a shooting star was falling over their heads. The two yelped while jumping backwards to avoid it. "I know that Mido's on their side right now, but come on!"
"She's not actively hurting us," Momo pointed out, looking down as the star landed, wiggling around. Then it gave off a tiny explosion for it to disappear. "She knows that stars burn up eventually, so she's shortened the time on how long they last to ensure no one gets hurt."
A whole wave of mushrooms appeared throughout the area, until the whole section was covered with them. Toru let out a terrified scream as it was already overwhelming them. And their movements would be much limited now.
"These must be her Quirk," Momo guessed correctly, sounding a little sick to her stomach.
Fumikage was still flying Yuga over the arena, and they could see all of the mushrooms. "These fungus fields are cropping up on every surface," Fumikage pointed out as they had nowhere to land now.
"So this mess of champignons..." Yuga murmured in thought, and had a feeling of whose Quirk it was. "Is it...?"
"Yes. A planned attack," Fumikage answered knowingly of what he was being asked. More of them appeared on pipes. Kinoko was looking around happily at her work. Izuka was a little grossed out as the area where she was wasn't covered in mushrooms. But she could still see them.
"Mr. Lonomidotis frondosa. Little Tricholoma equestre," Kinoko noted as more of them kept growing. She held up one of her blasters, giving off steam. "Flammulina velutipes! Coprinopsis atramentaria! That's it! Grow up strong!" She beamed widely as she kept firing. "Let's make the world a shroomier, fungier place to be!"
"Komori-Chan, you have way more enthusiasm about this than anyone else. I'm both disgusted and impressed," Izuka murmured to herself, gagging as she covered her mouth with her hand. She was not a mushroom fan...
Kinoko Komori. Hero name: Shemage. Quirk: Mushroom. She can release spores from her body and instantly grow mushrooms anywhere she wants! The more humidity in the air, the stronger she is!
The blasters were to help with the humidity for her.
The other classmates were watching Momo and Toru struggling to get the mushrooms off. "Uh, they've got shrooms growing on their bodies?" Minoru was shaking in a bit of fear as he didn't want that to happen to him ever. "This is like a serious horror movie!"
"Don't worry, the fungus up and disappears in 2 or 3 hours tops," Yosetsu nearby explained for him. "Your teammates'll be fine. Which is why she doesn't hold anything back. Your own classmate on their team doesn't either."
They watched as Toru and Momo jumped from another flying star, and this time, it almost missed them. One of the cameras started to get covered in mushrooms. Kyoka shivered in disgust, hugging her body tightly.
"Look, they're growing over the camera!" Ochaco gave a concerned look. "I know Mido's not actually going to hurt them either, but still..."
"Gag," Kyoka wanted to throw up.
Toru and Momo were still attempting to get the mushrooms away, but they wouldn't come off. Shihai was in disguise as a black mushroom, opening his eyes as he looked up ahead. He chuckled from the two freaking out.
"Here's Plan A," Itsuka informed her team in front of their base. "Up first is Kuroiro. He's gonna hijack Dark Shadow! The other team will send Tokoyami's Quirk to look for us as part of their initial reconnaissance. It's a smart, low-risk move on their part. They probably don't realize Kuroiro has leveled up his power and can manipulate all sorts of darkness. We'll turn that bird against them!"
"That's easy for you to suggest," Shihai remarked back, his arms crossed.
"Spooky!" Kinoko gave a small smile.
"But what if I fail at this task?" Shihai rubbed his chin in thought. "I'll be left out in the open."
"Heh," Itsuka wasn't worried as she gave a smirk. "They'd have to attack you using lotsa light, so it'll be obvious to us if you're in trouble. The lights will be a beacon pointing us straight to you and them. Plus, it can't be too bright or Dark Shadow would be powerless. Even if Kuroiro fails, we can spring another attack on them!"
"So it'll be a warning signal and a weakness," Izuka murmured after hearing the plan.
"Mido," Itsuka turned to her and she blinked. "You're gonna help Kuroiro with Dark Shadow by distracting it with light. But not enough to make him weak. Then you'll leave Kuroiro to him, while you assist us by attacking from the shadows until it's time for you to join me. I know you can move really fast, so they won't be able to pinpoint your movements!"
"So I'm support," Izuka hummed and then nodded. "Works for me. I won't let you guys down."
Plan A was a bust Shihai thought to himself. My only choice is to fall back for now. He then closed his eyes to disappear.
Itsuka gave a small smile to herself, knowing what happened. But she wasn't doubting her strategies at all. Plan B it is. Kinoko, Mido, we're counting on you.
Even though Momo and Toru managed to get the mushrooms off, they kept reappearing once they were gone. "They won't stop growing!" Toru shouted as she tried plucking them off quickly, but it didn't work. "I hate this!" Momo dusted some off her arm while her invisible teammate started to get pissed off. "What's going on?!" Momo knew exactly what their opponents were doing. Toru then ducked her head with a yelp from another shooting star. "Mido, you better come out now and knock it off! This isn't funny!"
They planned a two-pronged operation that anticipated how we'd respond to Kuroiro Momo bit her lip as more mushrooms appeared right after she dusted them off. She honestly couldn't be mad at this plan, as she would've done the same thing. A wise strategy, Kendo.
Momo then turned to Toru. She then got hit with a minor Jupiter Wind, causing her to slide back just a little as she grunted. "Calm down and stay focused! We just need to regroup, okay? And Mido's not our friend right now. We have to act like she's the enemy."
She looked up ahead as she had a feeling Izuka was hiding somewhere that she could see them, but they couldn't see her. She's already acting as one to us. So we can't underestimate her, otherwise it'll keep distracting us like she wants.
"Whack! Thud! Boom-Boom!" A voice shouted from the vast amount of pipes. "Ahh! Bam! Crash!" An explosion suddenly went off, and not because of Izuka. Momo braced herself from the amount of wind and mushrooms flying at them. Toru let out another scream as she stood as still as possible.
"Another assault?" Fumikage wondered as he flew himself and Yuga away from the incoming smoke. Suddenly, there was a word made out of stone?
"Why are there words comin' outta the ground?!" Toru demanded angrily because that attack could've killed them.
Manga looked up proudly as he was kneeling near Izuka. She glanced at him from the corner of her eye. That's a big attack for a Quirk so out there. Also, I'm so sorry, Hagakure... She closed her eyes sheepishly as she could tell from Toru's tone that she was not happy at all.
"I am killin' it today!" Manga looked up ahead from his power at work. "The bam effects were extra whabam when they went off. It's making my heart go bu-dum, bu-dum, bu-dum." He then let out a belch, and it came out as a speech bubble.
"I have no idea what you just said," Izuka blinked at him in bewilderment.
Class B, Manga Fukidashi. Hero name: Comicman. Quirk: Comic. He makes sound effects and onomatopoeia in comics come to life! He can also add an extra zing to certain words as they splat! Bang! Zow! across the battle field!
Izuka held up her arms as she prepared to fire again. Once she did, she watched her shooting star go flying into a black hole that she moved in a spot no one could see. She didn't want anyone from her opponents in her fourth match to know much of her abilities than they already did.
"You know, I was feeling extra ba bam when I learned that you were teaming up with us!" Manga revealed, getting her attention. She then quickly deduced that this was just how he talked. "Because you remind me a lot of Yuka from Mariner Luna. You know, the one about the talking dog who gives Yuka-"
"Nah, I don't know what you're talking about. Now's not the time for a reference," She interrupted as she prepared to fire another shooting star, and then smiled knowingly.
"You're right! Fwoosh, fwoosh! Pow, pow!" Manga exclaimed as another large speech bubble appeared over their heads. "Thud, thud, thud!" She used her shooting star to make the speech bubble go flying. More smoke appeared in the area.
"That Quirk..." Momo murmured as she looked up at the stone above her. She and Toru were now trapped inside of the word now. "This is madness!"
"Yao-momo!" Toru was freaking out as she was all alone now. "Where did you go?"
One of Yuga's lasers appeared to try and destroy the words, but there wasn't even a scratch on them. "Not even my laser can scratch these word things!" Yuga gritted his teeth in frustration. He then let out a scream as Fumikage flew back from one of Izuka's stars flying right at them. "Mido! Why?!"
"She may be our classmate, but right now, we're her opponents. We can't forget that," Fumikage narrowed his eyes.
"Damp, damp, whoosh," Manga created more speech bubbles from his mouth. "Damp, damp, whoosh."
Toru yelped and then flinched in alarm to see the speech bubbles turning into words right near her. "Yuck, did that say damp?" Something came from the word, causing the mushrooms to grow in size. She let out a shout as she realized what was going on. "It's a creepy word humidifier! The mushrooms are multiplying!" She ran off with the mushrooms on her body getting worse. "There's fungus everywhere!"
"Don't worry, Invisible Girl!" Fumikage called out to her.
"This is super gross," Yuga commented as some of the mushrooms were appearing on the boys now. Fumikage then dove down from a shooting star.
"Komori, Mido, and Fukidashi came to Kuroiro's rescue," Vlad King commented as the other cameras were still capturing what was happening. "Now, attacking in waves, they're giving Class A's team a hard time from a distance." He then grinned proudly at the screens. "My kids are showing their superior strength, and thanks to Mido, they have more of an advantage without relying on her useless information!"
"Again with the biased commentary!" Mina screamed while holding up a sign that said 'against biased commentary.'
"Yeah, stop!" Kyoka, Ochaco, Minoru, and even Shoto joined in as they agreed with her. They were all holding a sign that read 'Mr. Vlad should comment impartially!'
"It's gonna be hard to break those wide-range attacks," Rikido was a little concerned as he watched with Hanta. "Also...if we go overseas, do you think Fukidashi will need a translator?" He couldn't imagine anyone from the States understanding a thing Manga was saying.
"No clue," Hanta remarked and then shook his head. "But Mido's honestly kind of terrifying to go up against. We might know how her Quirk works, but catching up to her is gonna be difficult."
"Deku," Ochaco pointed up at the screen while Izuku was taking notes. "The arena!"
"Mhm," Izuku nodded as he knew what was happening. "The word wall separated Yaoyorozu from the rest of her teammates." Momo looked around as she couldn't see well, nor could she see a way to get out. He then flinched, since this couldn't be an accident that this happened. "Don't tell me; was that their plan from the start?"
Momo was on edge as she took in her surroundings. I have no idea where anyone is. Their attacks were leading toward this specific outcome. She darted her eyes around and then let out a sharp gasp. She then turned around while Itsuka gave a big grin.
We cut off the brain! Itsuka and Izuka then jumped up from opposite directions to surround Momo from behind. "Now I just have to defeat you with brawn!"
"And with everything I know about you!" Izuka yelled and Momo gasped, looking up in alarm to see them. Itsuka let out a yell as she reached out her hand. Izuka swung her hand back and then swung her arm forward, ready to fire a shooting star. Momo summoned two sheets made out of tungsten to block the both of them. However, because of the combined strength, Momo was already a little overwhelmed. She grunted as she was sent flying backwards, sliding to a stop. She looked up while gritting her teeth.
They destroyed the tungsten shields with one hit! Mido has tungsten in her gear, I should've realized she'd know how to counteract it.
Itsuka landed with a grin, followed by Izuka as she looked up ahead. Although she did look a little regretful for that move. She shook it off seconds later as she stared at her best friend. I can't lie, I wanted to fight against Momo too. I know that she's capable of handling situations like this, so I can't stop. Kendo's pretty strong with her own Quirk, she won't let Momo catch a breath.
Itsuka Kendo. Hero name: Battle Fist. Quirk: Big Fist. Her hands get huge when she attacks! The bigger her fist, the bigger the punch it packs, obviously!
She then lunged forward with Izuka. "We won't give you time to plan anything!" Itsuka declared to her rival. Izuka brought her hands together to power up a Mercury Blast. Momo used this short time to create two shields around her. Itsuka punched them while Izuka fired off the Mercury Blast, causing Momo to slide back further. Momo yelped as she was also taking the hits from Itsuka's fists as she didn't stop punching. "We can make this an endurance test if you want to! But you have to use materials from your own body to create things!"
"You already know my moves, because we're close friends," Izuka stated as she landed and lunged forward, firing off a Comet Burst. Momo squeezed her eyes shut as she braced herself from some flying flames. "But if I really have to face you, then I can't let that get in the way!"
"So there's no way you're gonna outmatch the both of us, Yaoyorozu!" Itsuka punched the shield harder while Izuka spun around to kick it. Momo grunted as she could barely hold them back on her own. The shields already had some scorch marks on them. We've gotta stay on the offensive. I learned that from watching her at the Sports Festival. We're finished if she has time to think. She already knew from watching Momo's match with Fumikage that being quick was the way to throw her off. Brute strength is the key!
After that match, she doubted herself and her skills. I don't wanna do that to her again Izuka thought as she made her arm go into flames. But that doesn't mean I can't give it my all. She's definitely a worthy opponent just for her brain alone.
Itsuka continued punching and Izuka started doing the same, both of her arms on fire. But the flames were small enough so that she didn't burn anyone on accident.
"She designed a situation where she and Mido have got a total advantage," Tetsutetsu commented as he grinned, pumping his fist. "Her plan was right on the money! What did I say? Our girl is smart and decisive even when she's under pressure! That's our brilliant rep Kendo for ya!"
"I'm not convinced this was the smartest move on her part," Shoto remarked as he and Mashirao overheard the Class B boy.
"Huh?" Tetsutetsu looked at him wide-eyed, as he was in shock.
"If Yaoyorozu was separated because they feared her planning, then they might've misjudged her. Something that Mido knew, and yet still went through with it," Shoto continued, and the silver-haired boy continued staring at him in disbelief.
"Yaoyorozu!" He yelled to the girl. "You've got a plan, don't you?" She turned back around to him in confusion, wondering how he knew that.
"Your plan didn't work," She looked towards the ground sadly. "So there's no way mine will be any good. We're both going to fail."
"Spit it out already!" Shoto urged; if they didn't act at all, then they would fail regardless. "I'm saying that you're the one who's better at this kinda stuff, not me!" Momo looked back up at him slowly. "When we were voting for class rep, you had three votes, remember? One of those votes was mine! And I'm sure that another one was from Mido, because she believes the same thing I do! Because we both thought you would be best at leading our class!"
She looked at him in both awe and disbelief.
A flash then went off, Shoto squeezing his eyes shut from the bright light. Mr. Aizawa gave a shocked sound.
"You're right," Momo revealed as she slowly lowered Shoto using the scarf. "I have an idea. A plan for us to win!" He spread his feet apart to land safely as Mr. Aizawa crouched in front of them. "We can still beat Mr. Aizawa!" Shoto set himself free as she had a slight blush over her face, having regained some of her confidence back. The homeroom teacher then glanced up with a grin, knowing that Momo was back "I've been thinking about it from the beginning. His weakness."
Shoto knew that Izuka had seen the whole thing, so she wasn't scared of Momo's brain. "If they were so worried about Yaoyorozu, then their team should've tried to disrupt her strategy from the very start. This predicament is still well within what she could have anticipated. Especially since she's up against Mido, who she considers one of her closest friends. Mido may be fighting her, but she's expecting Yaoyorozu's plan because deep down, she really doesn't want her opponent to lose."
Momo stepped backwards while still taking the hits with her shields. She braced herself while looking at the two.
"Your grades and Quirk are both better than mine, Yaoyorozu," Itsuka confessed as she came to a stop. "I wanna be my own hero."
"Momo?" Izuka approached her best friend, reaching out her hand with a soft smile. "I'll admit that I'm a little nervous going up against you since you're the smartest girl in our class. So no matter who wins...will there be no hard feelings against us?"
Momo gave her friend a happy smile, taking her hand. "I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll throw at the four of us! No matter what, we'll always be close friends."
Izuka's eyes shined a little and then she returned the smile, the two shaking hands firmly.
Kendo...Mido. You've got it wrong Momo looked at them from the corner of her eye. The truth is that I'm actually still the inexperienced fool. Not either of you. I believe wholeheartedly that Mido's the strongest girl in Class 1-A because of how fast she's grown. She then opened her eyes while watching them. Even so, you humbled yourselves and deemed to call me better...so I can't let you two see me looking pathetic!
"And since it's within her expectations, she should be able to create a path that will lead her to victory. Because she knows that Mido values their friendship. But Mido also knows that she can't win strategically, so she's relying on what she does best with her speed and accuracy," Shoto then narrowed his eyes. "This is what Momo Yaoyorozu and Izuka Midoriya excel at! So it could be either of them who win at this rate."
Katsuki just stared at Izuka in particular, knowing that she would use her abilities to defeat Momo. Just because Ponytail is smart, doesn't mean Izuka doesn't anticipate it.
The shields flew away from Momo, giving the girls an opening...or so Itsuka thought. She gasped sharply as they saw Momo creating something.
You can do this! Think of everything you've cultivated to this point! And prove to yourself and Mido how much you've grown!
"No way!" Itsuka looked down at Momo in shock while Izuka blinked and smiled proudly. "A frickin' cannon?!"
"I held you at bay so I could buy time," Momo grinned up at them. "It takes a while to make something this large!"
Fumikage was flying around with Yuga to see if they could find their other opponents or their teammates. Anyone could've gotten hurt from that attack, so they wanted to make sure everything was okay. They didn't plan for this at all to happen, but they still had to ensure the match was still going.
"There's still no sign of Class B," Yuga reported to his classmate.
"And I've lost Hagakure's location as well," Fumikage answered back to him. "Shall we regroup with Yaoyorozu on the other side of the wall? If we can."
However, Shihai popped up out of nowhere and grabbed Yuga. This caused Fumikage to fly forward without his teammate. "Oh no! Can't Stop Twinkling!" He shouted at the boy. Shihai laughed while flying away with Yuga, who screamed in fear of being grabbed again. Fumikage started flying after the both of them.
Kinoko grinned widely, her eyes shining in glee. "The fungus among us is how we will win!" She cheered as some mushrooms appeared on Fumikage's face, much to his shock. They then covered his head.
"Cursed mushrooms!" He attempted to pull them off rapidly. "Slowing me down!"
"Zoom!" Manga created a big sound effect and then another word to fly into it. It hit Fumikage in the face. He grunted as he was sent flying backwards. He landed roughly into the mushroom-covered ground, smoke appearing. Manga coughed a little, a hand near his throat. "Ah! My throat's getting a little hoarse."
Fumikage looked up while gritting his teeth and then froze. He turned around in alarm, only to see that it was just Toru covered head to toe in mushrooms. She let out an agonized whimper as she felt like this was going to be in her nightmares now...and Fumikage's as well as he yelped, taking in her appearance. "What nightmare is this?!" He then took a moment to calm down and assess the situation. Yaoyorozu is missing. Aoyama is gone. On top of that, the enemy has hidden themselves and are attacking indirectly, He was attempting to get the mushrooms off Toru while looking up, as he couldn't tell where Shihai or anyone else was now. Quite the predicament He then narrowed his eyes, looking a bit nervous. On top of that, they had Izuka on their side, and they both knew getting past her wasn't going to be easy either. They'll be difficult to best...Komori. Fukidashi. Kuroiro Yuga was unfortunately tied up, so he wouldn't be moving anytime soon. If we cannot determine the location of these three opponents, this will be the end. He glared a bit at them clearly having the upper hand. And more mushrooms appeared over his own body. We need a plan to pull ourselves together.
The shields flew away from Momo, while Itsuka and Izuka jumped to attack. Itsuka was surprised, but Izuka was not to see that Momo had made a cannon. "No way! A frickin' cannon?!"
"I held you at bay so I could buy time," Momo grinned up at them. "It takes a while to make something this large."
The two landed side by side, looking at their opponent. Itsuka definitely didn't know she could do that, but Izuka did. I'm impressed, Momo. You managed to catch her off guard by not letting her know until now. I'm almost glad that we're facing each other She gave a small smile to herself, but wasn't letting her guard down for a big reason.
"Is she insane?" Tetsutetsu wondered in disbelief, though Sen nearby him gave no reaction. "Who's she trying to kill with that?!"
"Again, huh?" Sen murmured to himself as he stared up ahead. "That girl really likes her cannons."
"That looks like it packs a big punch," Minoru pointed up to Momo in fear.
"...Hold on," Izuku narrowed his eyes as he realized something. He knew Momo would never actually harm them with a cannon.
Itsuka stared at Momo suspiciously, and then at Izuka. This has to be a bluff, and Mido knows it. That's why she hasn't said anything. She then flinched and glanced behind her. Is she planning on breaking through the wall?
Momo gasped as she saw the look on Ituska's face and prepared to fire. Itsuka gasped and jumped away. Izuka leaped for the wall nearby, landing on it. She looked up as Momo gave them a small glare. I apologize for threatening you.
Itsuka landed on her feet in a crouch. "Gotta stop her," She lunged forward while Izuka did a flip off of the wall, soaring over the cannon. I'll enlarge my fists at the moment of impact. That might work! She then glanced up at Izuka. While Mido will throw the shield as support! "Double Jumbo...Fist!"
Momo still fired just as Izuka let out her shield and a Comet Burst. She let out a yell as her opponents looked up, seeing the ammo firing over the wall. Izuka rolled safely to a stop, looking up in disbelief.
She wasn't aiming at the wall? Itsuka's eyes widened in shock as she thought she predicted Momo's plan. But instead, she veered from it supposedly. Then what was she shooting?!
She must know that one of her teammates will see that. And she fired so fast that I can't shoot it down Izuka stared up at the trajectory that Momo fired at.
Momo gritted her teeth while looking up. When this turned into the kind of fight that you're good at...I could tell my defeat was likely. She started to create something again. So, in order for us to win...! Something sparked from her chest, alarming both Itsuka and Izuka as they turned around to Momo.
Fumikage looked up at the mushroom-covered walls as they had heard the explosion from the cannon. That explosion just now didn't sound like Fukidashi's work. It came from the other side of the wall. He then gasped as he looked up to see a bag flying over the other side of the wall. Is that...from Yaoyorozu? Dark Shadow then went over Fumikage's body to fly him while he held onto Toru. "Dark Shadow!"
"Got it!" He reached out his hand to catch the bag, which had writing that said 'Yaoyorozu's Lucky Bag'. Fumikage then gasped in confusion at it. "What's this...?"
Kinoko was feeling the pipes for something when Shihai popped up from a hiding spot. "Hey, Komori," He spoke up softly to her.
"Speak up, silly, I can't hear you!" She glanced over her shoulder.
"Um," He stammered just a little. "I managed to catch the guy. Twinkles. He's in jail," He reported and currently, Yuga was sitting in the jail in shame.
"Really?!" She turned around fully with a bright smile on his face. "Nice, Kuroiro! I'm counting on you for the other two toadstools!"
He gave her a nod of silence, turning away shyly. I can't believe I impressed her!
Kinoko then started to spray the air with more of her humidity sprayers. "Our not-so-fungus opponents don't know where we are, so we can keep attacking them with mushrooms like this!"
"Yeah, of course," He agreed with her and then flinched, turning away. "...Uh. Hey. Komori?"
She blinked up at her classmate in confusion. "Yes, shroom?" She turned away as well as she looked in his direction.
"You don't think, um...Class A knows about this place, do you?" He asked cautiously, glancing at her. "Or that...our Class A classmate has told them?"
In the distance, Fumikage was flying straight for them, wearing a particular pair of goggles. Thermal goggles! Much easier to locate our enemies when I have these. He could sense the two straight up ahead thanks to Momo's lucky bag. Now when I stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back at me!
"Lucky bag?" Fumikage asked in confusion at the object. "What is this? Some kind of loot drop?" He was hanging onto Toru while Dark Shadow held onto the bag.
"I'll hold onto it!" Toru offered and took it from Dark Shadow. Once they had a chance to open it, they saw that it contained the thermal goggles and cans of something.
"We've got...some goggles? And ethanol?" He then flinched in realization, turning to Toru. "This is a disinfectant spray!"
"Looking at those fancy specs...I'd say they were designed with you in mind!" Toru pointed at the object.
He continued flying forward, knowing that Momo made it to help him with Shihai, since the Class B boy was only interested in fighting with him. Even without words, she conveyed her intent.
"Calm down and stay focused! We just need to regroup, okay?"
Yaoyorozu. Did you have this backup plan in your head the entire time?
He then flew right past Manga, who looked at him in surprise. Shihai was the only one who knew about Fumikage's new move, so seeing it in action was new for him. "What the what?" He murmured while he had words on his face that said 'Isn't this bad?' He then saw the direction Fumikage was going in. "Tokoyami is heading straight towards where Komori is! What's he up to?"
"And I'm the one after you," Toru suddenly announced, and he let out a gulp. Both as a reaction and as a literal word from his mouth. Toru was completely stripped of her gloves and boots, and she was pissed. "I thought it was strange the mushrooms didn't grow on you guys. But that's 'cause you disinfected yourselves, huh?"
"Uh..." He stepped back nervously as he could hear her, but he obviously didn't know where she was. Even the words that changed on his face said 'I can't see her'. "Where'd you get that?!" He yelped while looking around to try and determine where she was.
"Nuh-uh-uh!" She swung around an arm while heading towards him. "I'm not telling!" She then swung her arm forward to punch Manga in the face. His own face said hit as he flew backwards. Then his face said 'Where?' as he still couldn't see her. Toru hit him again, and he gave off words of pain as she continued striking him. She let out a yell from her relentless attacks.
"Now we can strike at our discretion," Fumikage's goggles locked onto his targets.
Kinoko let out a nervous gasp as they could faintly see him. "It definitely looks like he's heading straight for us," He noted as they didn't move.
"I will not allow you to escape or hide from the storm you have wrought!" Fumikage declared to the both of them. He then reached out his hands as Dark Shadow overtook them. "According to Hawks..." Kinoko let out a sharp gasp. "Speed can easily win against strength!" Shihai was shocked as well as neither of them anticipated this. Fumikage stared as Dark Shadow had overtaken his entire body. "Black Abyss." Dark Shadow swung his hands to knock them both off of their feet. "Sabbath!"
"Shroom-y!" Kinoko cried out at this.
"Komori, no!" Shihai cried out in concern for his classmate. He then looked towards their opponent. He's too fast. Can't stay. Have to sink into the shadows. He darted his eyes around to look for a good place.
"Is it darkness that you're searching for?" Fumikage wondered correctly as he was right behind Shihai. His cape was over the boy, who turned around with a gasp. Suddenly, he was trapped inside of Fumikage's cape bundled up. "Then you can borrow my cloak."
"No fair," Shihai complained at being caught, and for getting trapped like this.
"If there's nowhere to for you to move, then there is no need to fear your abilities," Fumikage simply stated and Dark Shadow popped up while holding Kinoko.
"Fumikage, I caught the spore girl!" Kinoko struggled in his hold.
"Whoa, dang, he caught 2 enemies!" Minoru grinned happily, shaking his fists eagerly. "He's turned the tables!"
"They couldn't have done it without Yao-momo's items!" Kyoka spoke up with a proud grin. Ochaco giggled a little in agreement.
"Hagakure's doing awesome too," Izuku pointed out with a smile. "If they keep going like this, they can win it four-to-one."
"Quick, Dark Shadow," Fumikage looked up at the entity. "Take these two prisoners to-" He then faltered and started coughing for some reason.
"Hey, are you alright?" Dark Shadow stared up at him in confusion.
"Heh," Kinoko stuck out her tongue playfully. "It's not a cutie. So I made sure to keep it hidden away until now. I'd be such a bad shroom if I didn't use it when we were about to lose, though."
Fumikage couldn't stop coughing as he held his throat. My windpipe. It felt like his lungs were fighting against him...
Kinoko gave him a big grin. "Lungs feel bad? That's little schizophllyum commune," Fumikage didn't notice them, but there were small brown mushrooms nearby that were affecting his body.
"Komori doesn't have a Quirk that screams combat and yet, she's scary," Neito remarked a bit intensely. "Did you think we'd hold back because this is just training, you stupid bird? You should've knocked her unconscious."
Fumikage had dropped Shihai in favor of trying to recollect himself.
"Take this!" Toru shouted while still hitting Manga repeatedly.
"It's like I'm fighting a ghost that punches really hard!" He cried out since he couldn't see her to fight back.
I need to hurry up and finish this dude off. Then I can help the others! I'm worried about how Tokoyami and Yao-momo are holding up. And even though she's not on our team, I'm worried about Mido too! "Invisible Girl...is also invincible!" She screamed before a big hand reached out to grab her. Ochaco, Izuku, Kyoka, and Minoru all gasped sharply as they recognized it. Itsuka came out of hiding, panting heavily. She and Izuka had something wrapped around their sides, dragging something.
"Sorry it took me a while..."
Manga fell onto his back while Izuka summoned an ice restraint for Toru. "Kendo! Mido! Boom. I'm saved! Huh? ...What's happening here?" He pointed towards the three girls.
"Well, we knocked her out, but not before she got us," Itsuka revealed as Momo was glowing. "We're kinda stuck together." Momo was holding onto her cannon, but she had managed to tie herself to the girls with a durable rope. "She could have done us a solid and let the cannon fall off. It's hard to drag all of this stuff around..." Itsuka frowned a little as she felt like she underestimated Momo despite her own plan. "Everything she created showed that she was looking ahead. Covering her bases. I don't really feel like I won."
"She's gotten much stronger than I remember," Izuka gave Momo a small smile while looking over her shoulder. "I honestly don't know when. Maybe during work-studies and I just didn't notice..." Which did make sense since Izuka was busy with other things at the time. "And I couldn't even carry anything, that's how heavy all of this is..." She let out a heavy sigh as she was kind of exhausted, closing her eyes. "Everything she does just proves to me that even though we're in the same class...we have strengths that can balance each other out. If it had been just me...she definitely would've beaten me."
Shihai came out of hiding from the cape. "Hey," He looked up as Kinoko bent down to him with a smile. "Thanks for getting us out of this."
"It's only natural to save your teammates, shroom," She replied back happily. He then looked past her to see their other teammates.
"Kendo, Fukidashi, Mido. You three are okay?"
"I think so," Manga shook off his hand while Itsuka held onto Toru just in case she escaped. "Somehow."
Izuka let out a small cough into her hand. "Aside from my legs feeling like crap, I'm fine..." She then looked to Fumikage coughing as he kneeled.
"Hey," Dark Shadow looked over to him in worry. "Please don't die..."
"You really pulled out the big guns, Komori," Itsuka turned to her teammate, knowing what happened.
"If I hadn't, we would've lost the round," She explained in a bit of concern.
"Yeah, that's true," Itsuka murmured, glancing over to Izuka briefly. "Class A's tough. They easily could have beaten us. We sure lucked out today."
Tetsutetsu raised up a fist. "Luck has nothin' to do with it!" He immediately disagreed with her. "It was all Kendo's plan! Alright!"
"Yaoyorozu," Shoto stated while looking towards the screen. "I hope you don't get discouraged by this result..."
"Our Creati will grow into a top-class leader one day," Midnight hugged herself, lightly blushing. "All these Plus Ultra moments are oh-so stimulating..."
Izuku clenched a fist as he looked up with a smile. He was optimistic for his class despite the loss. They might've lost, but Tokoyami got to use his new move, and Yaoyorozu never stopped looking ahead throughout the match. Plus Izuka managed to work with her Class B team so well! It's obvious that everyone has improved. There's no doubt about it!
All Might gave a proud smile. With every step, these kids get closer to embodying what they want to be in the future.
Izuku looked up with determination. We're striving to live up to those we admire. Heroes!
Katsuki had his hands in his pockets, staring towards Izuka specifically. She actually did it. Not bad, for a shorty that... The kiss came to mind and he turned away, his cheeks red. That needs to step it up later! And she better!
The gate closed as the Class A team were all captured into their opponents' home base. "Second match! Class B with their somewhat helpful teammate Mido nabs a crushing victory with a score of four-nothing!" Vlad King announced into the microphone. "Words can't describe how impressive this showing was!"
"This is getting seriously ridiculous!" Mina shouted while holding up her protest sign.
"Seriously!" Minoru, Shoto, Ochaco, and Kyoka all chimed in behind her.
"I'm so proud of you!" Vlad King ignored the group, to their dismay.
"Someone needs to get him away from the mic," Izuka pinched her nose in embarrassment.
"Sorry..." Itsuka laughed a little awkwardly. The green-haired girl shook it off and then bent down to Momo in the cell.
"Momo," She spoke up softly, the girl looking up at her. The other classmates, including Izuka's teammates, all blinked in shock from what she was doing. Even the teachers were caught off guard. Momo gasped a little to see a smile from Izuka's face. Her friend then held out a hand towards the cage. "You did well out there. So don't get too caught up from this loss, okay? I'm so proud of you guys."
I'm doing what I should've done before internships started. I just hope that she doesn't lose her confidence again after this...
Momo's eyes shined a little as she slowly sat up, taking Izuka's hand with a smile. "I promise to take your advice, Mido! You did wonderful as well. I hope we can grow much stronger together in our class!"
Izuka blinked and then smiled back at her friend happily as the two shook hands. "Is she serious?" Neito chuckled in disbelief from her actions. Some people looked at him in annoyance. "As if any of my class would accept this stupid gesture from someone they had to drag along!"
"No hard feelings, Yaoyorozu?" Itsuka smiled a little, alarming Neito as he froze.
"Of course," Momo nodded at the girl.
"Yes, you fought hard, Mido," Fumikage acknowledged as he was recovering from the mushrooms. "Anyone would be grateful for your support."
"Although lay off the sneak attacks next time!" Toru was still a bit annoyed from that.
"Oui, mon ami. It wasn't very twinkling," Yuga stared at his classmate.
"I'm sorry...!" Izuka rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly while Itsuka and Kinoko looked on with smiles. Shihai and Manga just stared at her with her class. "It wasn't anything personal, I swear!"
"Hm," All Might gave Izuka a smile. Even though she won, she hasn't forgotten that because of her classmates that she's like this today.
Izuku was smiling as well. "She wouldn't have won with them if she didn't hold back just because it was our classmates. She acknowledged that she had to treat them as rivals too," He stated as he was proud of her for giving Momo a good fight.
"That's our Mido! And she's shown her team to not underestimate us too," Ochaco grinned, pumping a fist.
"Feels kinda weird to feel sad and happy for our classmates when Mido had to be on Kendo's team," Kyoka couldn't help but comment.
"No!" Neito grunted out in annoyance. "What are they doing? They're supposed to be looking down on those idiots!" He held his head in agony, pointing at the screen. "She's clearly influenced them with her self-absorbing ways!"
That bastard is lucky he's getting off scot-free for now Katsuki made a mental note to get back at Neito later.
