Angel: How many episodes are there going to be? I have no information at this time of how many episodes the 8th season will give us. And I don't plan on doing any extra content like the spinoffs or smaller stories. It would take a lot of time to track down and read all of them, time I don't have because I'm busy with life…stuff. The movies, the regular episodes, the OVAs, that's already enough for me and I feel like I've only just hit the halfway mark of doing even all of those. So all of what I just laid out, that's all I'm uploading because that's more than enough content. Plus that bonus chapter we got from the manga if the anime leaves it out. So if I had to guess, we're looking at around 250 chapters of this story.
I'm almost done with writing season 6, but I still have to do a lot of proofreading and editing what I have finished. I'm getting there, hopefully I can get to writing season 7 in January 2025.
"Look who we have here," A familiar voice spoke up, getting their attention as they looked up. "Relaxed and full of yourselves, as always."
Neito was grinning while surrounded by his own class, all of them in their hero costumes. "Come on, Class A! Let's see who's best once and for all!"
The first match was between Tsuyu, Koji, Denki, and Eijiro vs Ibara, Jurota, Hiryu, and Kosei. Hitoshi's scarf was flying as he stared up ahead.
Classes 1-A and 1-B from the hero course at UA high are battling it out against one another in team combat training.
With some added twists here and there. Not only would our improvements with our Quirks be assessed, but also how the matchups work well.
For the first match, Class A pulled off a win with the help of Shinso, a special participant from General Studies.
This will make the buildup to my brother's later match with Shinso really high. But first, we'll have to see how the rest of the matches go! Speaking of matches...mine had just finished with me on a Class B team against Momo, one of my best friends.
Then, in the second battle, Yaoyorozu's situational analysis shined, but it was Kendo's advanced planning that ended up being the key to success. Class B's team managed to take home the victory, meaning we're currently tied with one win each.
I honestly had to commend Momo for her planning and quick thinking. Tokoyami in particular showed off some new moves no one was expecting. And despite Aoyama's capture, I thought that they were going to pull through. But now it's time for the third match!
Fumikage was coughing from the amount of smoke in the air. Kinoko was kneeled nearby with an antidote for him. The match was over, so they were allowed to let out the Class 1-A team. "Sorry about that, Tokoyami. You want a cough drop?" She offered the bird-headed boy.
"I don't need your pity," He dismissed her offer.
"Fair enough. At least see Recovery Girl and get some medicine for your throat," She suggested in concern as he continued coughing.
Itsuka and Izuka were surrounding Momo, who looked exhausted after the match. "Humans can't get stronger without training?" A transport bot stated while two bots were wheeling Momo away from the area. "What inefficient beings."
"Why must we carry the injured? Rescue protocol needs reform."
Izuka looked away a bit awkwardly, looking at her classmates who did look a bit upset still at their loss.
"The grounds were completely wrecked," Hitoshi pointed out while standing nearby Mr. Aizawa. "It was so different from the first match." He also looked at Izuka in particular. Even though I'm not facing her, she'd be just as tough to beat as her brother...she was so fast and in complete control, not to mention more confident than in the Sports Festival...
"This is what training in the hero course is like," The teacher spoke up, getting his attention. "That said, they did go a little overboard."
"Fukidashi! Kendo! Remember your surroundings," Vlad King advised his students. "Damage should be kept to a minimum."
"Yes, sir!" Manga saluted to him as they looked up at the camera.
"Sorry 'bout that!" Itsuka replied sheepishly, sweating a little.
"Right, so," Mr. Aizawa approached his coworker. "When will Komori's mushrooms disappear?"
"They'll be gone in 2 hours, give or take," Vlad King informed the man.
"Then it would be logical to change locations," Mr. Aizawa suggested, which earned a nod in return.
"Maybe take a break as well," Vlad King murmured as the smoke still hadn't cleared yet from the arena.
Neito was laughing gleefully from the victory his class team got. "That match was an overwhelming victory for the superior Class! Just like at the School Festival, Class B is certain to come out on top! It couldn't be more obvious!"
Mina, Ochaco, Izuku, and Minoru were staring up at the screen in disbelief. They couldn't believe that Momo's team lost, since she was the smartest girl in their class. But it was also a close match since they had Izuka for Class B...
Neito turned around to gloat towards the four. "Aw, you poor losers, no need to look so frustrated. It's not your fault. We're just better. Even if your classmate did slow us down a little. Accept inferiority!" As he laughed, Itsuka had returned since she wasn't injured. She then smacked him in the neck as Izuka returned as well.
"Apologies," She dragged Neito away from the four and Izuka waved towards her.
"Thanks, Kendo!" She smiled a little.
Minoru gave Neito a blank look, wondering why he even bothered anymore at this point when it had been a few semesters now that they had been in school. "He's a broken record that needs to be set on fire..."
Mina sat up, looking just as annoyed. "I don't know why he talks like that when he knows she's gonna smack him," She grunted, Ochaco giving a sheepish look next to her. The brunette just giggled as Izuka came to a stop in front of them, smiling. "Mido, good job out there!"
"Mmhm," Izuku nodded in encouragement. "Even though it must've been an odd situation, you did your best!"
"Although you should've torn the clothes just a little..." Minoru stated while looking away.
"Thanks, you guys," Izuka grinned towards her friends and brother. She decided to ignore Minoru this time around since she had a tough time at first fighting Momo.
"Come sit with us!" Ochaco offered happily as she scooched over and Izuka kneeled to sit between her and Izuku. "Your strategy was great, and you managed to work with them so well. It must've felt a little awkward, huh?"
"It is a little, since I'm on 2 teams," She rubbed the back of her neck, smiling as she hugged her legs. "But we're all still friends, so it's all good."
Katsuki stared at her from not too far away, narrowing his eyes a little. "She better not half-ass it later," He mumbled while looking away. So she managed to win. But when it's our turn, we're gonna turn things up. She better be ready.
"Dang, your class has some heavy hitters," Denki commented to Sen. "You're blowin' my mind here."
"I'd say the same thing goes for you guys," He smiled a little, a hand on his hip.
"Fukidashi, I didn't know you could make something so big!" Toru exclaimed in awe towards Manga.
"My throat gets scratchy when I do," He explained to the invisible girl, pumping his fists. "But I'm trying to learn to power through it!"
"It's not just their Quirks," Izuku was excitedly taking notes. "You have to factor in attitudes and mental strength, which both contribute to overall growth and lead to better performances on the battlefield!"
"You're sure writing a lot," Ochaco smiled a little towards him. "You know, you and Mido have grown a ton too, Deku."
"I hope so," He responded a bit shyly.
"I still have room to grow, Ochaco," Izuka confessed with a sheepish grin. "Just because I won in the 2nd match doesn't mean I can take it easy in my next one. And I think we know why," She glanced at Ochaco knowingly. The brunette blinked and the two suddenly giggled to themselves. They both knew Katsuki would be pissed if Izuka didn't give it her all in her team match with him.
"Nowhere near as much as me, though," Minoru bragged to them, getting their attention.
Mina held up a hand as she didn't see it. "Yeah, I don't see it."
"I'm not talking about my height!" He retorted back to her in annoyance. "And Mido's not even twice my height!"
"Oh, I'm not taking that from the shortest guy in school that's a girl repellent!" She grunted, annoyed that he brought her into this. She doubted she'd get a growth spurt anytime soon, but it didn't mean he had to bring attention to it.
"Don't mind him, Mido. You're gonna do great on your next match regardless of how tall you are. Besides, I think it makes you adorable!" Ochaco smiled towards the girl, Mina nodding in agreement.
"Especially for all the boys~!" Mina teased the green-haired girl. "Not Mineta, though."
"Hey!" Minoru protested up towards her as Izuka giggled in amusement. She was not going to speak on the boy thing, though.
Someone stepped up to the twins from behind, and it was Toshinori. "I am here," He whispered, causing them to look up. "Without startling you."
"Oh, All Might!" Izuku turned around to him, Izuka smiling up at the man.
"Hi, All Might!" She greeted with a small wave.
"Young Midoriya and Mido, a moment, please?" He quietly asked the two.
"Sure," Izuku got onto his feet.
"We can spare some time now that my match is over," Izuka smiled as she got up as well.
"That's cool. Bye!" Mina called out as they watched the twins leave with Toshinori.
"Feels like the Midoriyas are with All Might every other second these days, doesn't it?" Minoru commented curiously to the twins.
"It seems that way," Ochaco gave him a small smile. "I heard he's been helping Deku and Mido with practice outside of class."
"Ooh, shocker, shocker," Mina teased while glancing up at her. Ochaco turned to her in confusion for the remark. "Of course you've got the deets on Midoriya."
"Uh!" Ochaco yelped, holding up her hands nervously. "No! I just heard it, that's all, from somebody else, probably," She then touched Mina, who started floating up to the sky. The pink-skinned girl yelped as she couldn't get down. "Ah! I'm so sorry!"
"Don't use your Quirk before our match starts!" Minoru exclaimed at her in alarm. "You're wasting your power!"
Mina laughed as she spun around in the air. "Nice! Clock this breakdown!"
"Young Midoriya, Mido," Toshinori spoke up once they were in a less-populated section. "Have either of you sensed anything strange in your Quirks since that night?"
"No. Nothing I've noticed, at least," Izuku reported, looking over to his sister. "You?"
"No, everything's been normal since then," She shook her head, coughing as she looked away. "Although Katsuki did make his concern known right after that happened..."
"Interesting. As I mentioned, this is all new territory. I've never heard of a spontaneous activation before. But I'm planning to ask Gran Torino if he knows anything. Chances are he might know why it's happening to you too if my theory was incorrect," Toshinori looked at Izuka.
"Great! That would be super helpful," Izuku told him gratefully.
"Yeah, and we might get more answers if you happen to be wrong," Izuka nodded in agreement with him.
"Be careful in those battles," He whispered to the both of them. "Things could get weird. After all, the vestiges of One for All did first appear to you both during a match against Young Shinso..." The three glanced over to stare at him in the middle of the crowd. He was all by himself, not talking to anyone.
"Yeah, that wasn't a fun time for me," Izuka murmured as she remembered she fainted after that.
"Uh! You're right...I'm so sorry," Toshinori apologized sincerely as he bowed his head in shame.
"No, no, it's okay," She waved a rapid hand in a bit of embarrassment. "Really, I'm not mad at you for that. Stand up before someone sees!"
"Right," Izuku answered seriously, knowing that it could happen again. Thankfully it didn't occur during Izuka's first match. "We'll be on high alert."
"By the way," Toshinori stood up with a grin towards Izuka. "Congrats on winning your first match! Wasn't easy fighting against your classmates, huh?"
"Yeah," Izuka sighed a little, but then smiled. "It definitely got me pumped up for my next one, though! They all did so well!"
"Just remember that in the fourth match, your opponents will have even more knowledge of your power to use that against you," He advised his student. "So just keep doing what you're doing."
"Mmhm!" She nodded sharply up at him. "I will!"
"Again?" Katsuki grunted from behind, revealing that he had been listening for a while.
"Yikes!" The twins exclaimed in surprise to suddenly hear him. None of them even knew that he was standing there.
"Kacchan, where did you come from?!" Izuku yelped towards his childhood friend.
"You three asked me to keep your relationship a secret," Katsuki started scolding them like they were children. "But you're always sneaking around like this. Are you stupid?" Toshinori only let out a gulp, as he knew that someone would catch on at some point... "Don't you gulp at me!"
"Katsuki!" Izuka exclaimed with an annoyed expression, hands on her hips. "I think they got the point."
Katsuki ignored her and looked up, his face telling them that he wasn't going to let them off the hook. "Did something happen? Does it have to do with what happened to Izuka that night? And don't lie," He demanded from the two of them, knowing that if anyone had answers as to what happened with her, it would be them.
Izuka blinked that he was even bringing that up when he hadn't asked her about it. She then glanced up at Izuku and Toshinori, since she knew now that he wasn't going to drop the issue since she was involved as well... How long was he thinking about that? Did he just suspect it and figured to wait until he caught them in the act?
"Well..." Izuku looked towards the ground. "Actually..." And so, he told Katsuki everything that had happened the night he had that strange dream. He also confirmed that Izuka had the same one, hence why she was freaked out that night.
"In your sleep?" Katsuki narrowed his eyes a bit suspiciously. He then scoffed, hands on his hips. "You're so hopeless, I can't tell if you're improving or failing."
"Hey," Izuka smacked his arm a little with a glare.
"Honestly? I don't know either," Izuku confessed to the two of them.
"When are you gonna master One for All?" Katsuki questioned, causing the green-haired boy to look up. Katsuki looked determined staring at his rival. "Soon? I've gotten stronger since the last time we fought, so you'd better be keeping up."
"Mm," Izuku nodded sharply at him. "I'm trying. I swear!" He smiled towards Katsuki.
"I'll try harder too!" Izuka clenched her fists, shaking them. "I have to earn my place alongside you guys, after all!"
"Oh yeah? The shorty wants to join too?" Katsuki smirked a little. "Maybe if you grow a few inches."
"I'm plenty capable regardless of height!" Izuka huffed up at him, but was grinning. Compared to Minoru, she didn't mind for the most part if Katsuki brought it up. Mainly because her focus with the blond had a list of things she wanted out of it. And her height was not priority when it came to him.
Toshinori smiled towards the three as he watched. Young Bakugo is being considerate in his own special way.
Katsuki was pointing towards the both of them in annoyance. "The hell are you both smiling at? I'm dead serious, ya idiots, and those dumb looks on your faces piss me off!" He replied, earning awkward looks from the twins.
Toshinori stared at him blankly. Or not... He then looked up to the sky. Young Midoriya and Mido seeing vestiges of One for All...and he'll be fighting the person who first triggered their appearance. Hopefully it doesn't end up affecting Mido too like last time. I feel like everything is connected somehow. Master. What are you and the other previous users of our Quirk trying to tell us?
Katsuki then turned towards Izuka. "Oi, the extras on our team wanna talk with you. They need to go over our plan so you're not going in blind."
"They're not extras, they're our classmates," Izuka sighed heavily while Izuku and Toshinori gave them sheepish looks. It had been 3 semesters now and he still called them that... "When are you gonna start learning their names?"
"None of your business," He huffed and she turned away to leave. Before she did, he grabbed her arm gently and she flinched, turning around to him. "You didn't need to hide what happened, you know. I could've handled it if I heard it from you."
Toshinori and Izuku stared attentively like they were watching a romance movie.
"I know," She closed her eyes regrettably. "But it was a lot to take in. I had other things on my mind and I wanted you to know when they were ready to say something," She gestured to her brother and mentor. "I wasn't intending to keep it from you for very long."
"Just don't let that happen again," Katsuki grunted, staring down at her. "...You didn't suck during your first match. Be ready for anything in ours and follow my orders."
"Thanks, Katsuki," She smiled gratefully that he wasn't mad at her. The girl knew that he could handle anything she told him, she just wasn't ready at the time. And something told her that if she had said anything that night, he would've been banging on Izuku's door demanding for answers.
"Yeah, thank you for taking care of her that night, Kacchan," Izuku gave him a small smile as well.
"Shut up! If anyone finds out about that, I'm murdering you!" He yelled at the both of them, who sweated nervously.
"I didn't tell anyone else..." She laughed anxiously towards him and then gently got her arm back. "I knew you wouldn't want that getting around, so I only told them."
"Good! Keep it that way!" Katsuki retorted back, though he trusted her to keep her word. "And tell me if the League shows their faces around you again!"
"You got it—"
"Wait, what is Kacchan talking about?" Izuku blinked in utter confusion. He then flinched, giving a look of terror. "The League? What happened?"
"Well…Dabi showed up after the fight in Kyushu—"
"HE WHAT?!" Both Izuku and Toshinori shouted in fear, causing her hair to fly past her head. She then stood up straight, rubbing at her ringing ear.
"She's fine. She was with the heroes and she's still standing, isn't she?" Katsuki retorted, causing Izuku to stare at him in bewilderment. He didn't think he'd ever heard that from Katsuki ever.
"Well…yes, but don't keep that a secret again!" Toshinori yelped toward Izuka, who rubbed her neck sheepishly.
"I'm sorry, I had a lot of stuff going on. Anyway, I better go find the others, I'll see you later, All Might!" Izuka waved as she walked off to go find Rikido, Hanta, and Kyoka.
"Good luck," Toshinori waved at the girl.
"Hm," Katsuki stared after her again. Izuku and Toshinori looked at him knowingly, grinning. She's definitely not the same mouse that she used to be at the beginning of school. I wish I could be pissed off about that, but I'm not. She knew exactly what to do, every step of the way. Ha! I'm actually kind of looking forward to our match together. Although we're not putting her on fucking support again. She needs to be able to fight against those League bastards the next time they show up.
He then glanced up to see the two still looking at him and he flinched, backing away. "The hell are you two looking at?!"
Recovery Girl moved away the curtain in her office, smiling. "How's my patient doing?" She looked over to Momo. "With these minor injures, you'll be back to normal in half an hour. You should be thankful that your young body heals so quickly. And that skin! So supple," She gushed as Momo had a kiss mark on her right cheek, still healing up from earlier.
The cages for the third match were being rolled away. "The third match will take place in an area two blocks east of where the previous rounds were held," Vlad King announced as the transport robots were moving them. "The cages have been moved to your new bases. This little breather is over! Prepare for the third training battle!"'
And that would be between Tenya, Mezo, Shoto, and Mashirao vs Pony, Juzo, Sen, and Tetsutetsu.
"It's finally Ida's time to fight," Ochaco smiled a little in encouragement. Izuku gave a sharp nod.
"He's got strong classmates on his side, that's for sure," Izuka smiled as well, closing her eyes.
"This group has Todoroki's two wide-range ice and fire attacks, Ida's unmatched speed, Shoji's superior scouting capabilities, and Ojiro, who excels in close combat. Talk about a balanced team," Izuku complimented as they waited for the match to start. "Lucky draws."
"We've got Todoroki, so it should be an easy win," Minoru remarked to them.
"You shouldn't count your grapes before they're grown, boys," Mina teased the two.
"My grapes are huge!" Minoru exclaimed back in protest. "Isn't that right, Mido?"
"Don't make me answer that," Izuka deadpanned, since she knew that it wouldn't make him stop lusting after her sometimes no matter what she said. She glanced up and got onto her feet, running over to the staircase.
"Todoroki," Fumikage stopped Shoto before he could head for his match. He turned around while his teammates walked down the steps. Izuka managed to reach them as well.
"Yeah, what's up? Your throat feeling any better?" He wondered to his friend.
"Yes, I took the prescribed medication," Fumikage assured the boy. "I will endure."
"Glad to hear. Oh, Mido," He blinked to see her. "Congratulations on winning your match. You fought hard out there."
"Thanks, Shoto," She gave him a small happy smile.
"I performed shamefully out there," Fumikage confessed, and Izuka blinked up at him. "Please avenge us."
"Huh? But Tokoyami, you did well out there regardless. Don't blame yourself," She frowned a little. "You managed to surprise all of us with your new move! That'll help out a lot in the future."
"I appreciate it, but still...I didn't account for their well-executed strategy," Fumikage glanced towards her. "Or for your unpredictable aiming."
"That doesn't mean you didn't fight hard, it just means you've gotta keep working on your Quirk!" The short girl encouraged, pumping her fists.
Shoto was very confused, though. "Wait, but why is it up to me?"
"Our mentors, Hawks and Endeavor. We studied under the heroes who fought the last great battle still in people's minds. And they worked with Mido as well, who played a hand in besting our team," He explained and Izuka faltered a little, wincing. "That makes it our duty to uphold the honor of the top two heroes, and one of the strongest classmates among us."
Tenya glanced over his shoulder as he was listening. Izuka flinched and waved a hand to try and change the subject. "Tokoyami, it's not fair to compare us. We're all working hard to become stronger. I think I'm considered lower in our class, honestly. I can't call myself strong compared to the obvious ones we should be looking at," She glanced over her shoulder briefly to her brother and Katsuki, and the latter was staring at her intensely.
"I see," Shoto responded and then stared at his two classmates. He had to agree with Fumikage on both arguments somewhat, because he definitely considered Izuka to be up there with Izuku and Katsuki. Not just mentally, but physically as well since she had great control over her abilities. The first argument on the other hand... The last great battle. Sure.
"I'LL GO PLUS ULTRA!" Endeavor screamed at the top of his lungs. "PROMINENCE BURN!" He shouted as the two looked like a falling comet. He held onto the High-End Nomu tightly as they were both on fire.
Shoto's eyes shook from the memory that was still fresh in his mind. It was still hard for him to acknowledge that it was his father out there and not the number one hero...
"Shoto. You must learn this move if you're to advance." Enji's arm was on fire while Shoto had smoke coming from his body, tears dropping from his eyes. "Do not run from me. Do not run from your nature! Stand up!"
Shoto felt like he couldn't breathe, sweat dropping from him as he felt like he couldn't go on like this... "Quit pretending to be weak! Toya had the potential," He glared down at his youngest son. "He had even more firepower than me. But he had your mother's weak constitution. He was close. Until..." The boy remembered unfortunately what happened to his oldest brother. More tears went down from his face from how his father spoke of them. Because he didn't want to surpass them like his father wanted... "It's on you now, Shoto! It has to be. You're the only one who can do this move! You can fulfill my ambition!"
"Shoto?" Izuka's voice snapped him out of it and he looked up to see her concerned face. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Good luck in your match with Bakugo and the rest of your team," He then turned around and walked down the steps.
"We're rooting for you guys out there!" She waved to the four, her eyes softening at Shoto. She had a feeling that this had to do with his father...which wasn't Fumikage's fault since he didn't know, but putting all that pressure on him...it probably wasn't the best choice of words. I can't imagine what's going on in his head right now. Poor Shoto...
"Is everything alright?" She yelped from Fumikage's question.
"Um, yeah," The girl rubbed the back of her neck. "Sorry, I was just thinking."
"I see. We should get ready to witness the next match," He then walked off and she followed after him silently. Katsuki kept his eyes on her and then glared. He knew that she was talking to Shoto about something, but he didn't have time to question it unfortunately. Even though yes, he was a little pissed.
"Todoroki," Tenya called out but Shoto didn't hear it. "Todoroki?" He looked up as they were walking to the arena. "Is something wrong? You have quite a puzzled look on your face."
"Oh, really?" He didn't think it was that noticeable.
"It's true. Are you worried about something?" Tenya asked him in concern.
"No, I'll be okay," Shoto glanced up at his friend. "Thank you for asking."
"He's not exactly the most expressive person, so I didn't notice," Mashirao smiled a little, as Shoto usually kept the same expression almost all day. "That's impressive, Tenya."
"It's my responsibility," Tenya smiled a little. "I am class representative. I must aid any of our troubled peers!" He then held up his helmet, his smile growing wider.
"You seem really cheerful," Mezo's limb pointed out to him. "More than usual."
"Yes, I am!" He glanced over to Mezo while still keeping his expression. "My brother's recovery has been going well lately."
"Oh. That's great to hear!" Mashirao exclaimed happily for him.
"You know...I think the hero Ingenium...is finished," Tensei revealed sadly; he thought that retirement would've been when he'd stop hero work. Sadly...life just didn't work out that way. "At least for me."
"No!" Tenya protested while standing up. "You still have so many people to help and inspire, brother. This can't be true!" He shook his head rapidly as he refused to believe it. Despite what he just heard, he wanted to hold onto the hope he had as a kid watching his brother be a hero.
Tensei then opened an eye. "That's why...I want you to take the name. Will you do that? For me, Tenya."
Tenya had a glint in his eyes as he silently vowed to make his brother proud. "I also have the duty...to uphold my brother's honor and live up to his name! I'm watching everyone closely, but that means everyone's watching me too," He then put on his helmet. "I was third place at the Sports Festival! I'll show everybody that I'm a worthy successor!"
Izuku narrowed his eyes a bit as it was so similar to him and Toshinori. A worthy successor? Huh.
Ida...you've really grown since then, huh? But I think your brother would already agree you are worthy Izuka gave Tenya a small smile.
"People always treat me like I'm some kinda hardheaded moron without a clue, but I got accepted into UA just like you guys," Tetsutetsu declared to his team as they stood in front of their base. "It's not like I rush into things without thinkin' of the endgame," He was tapping his arms against the pipes a little.
"What are you talking about?" Sen wondered, his arms crossed.
"This unbalanced team we're stuck with!" Tetsutetsu complained, hitting the pipe harder. "We don't have any scouts. That's gonna spell big trouble for us."
"You have a point," Sen couldn't help but agree, since the other team had Mezo on their side. Without someone like that on their own team, they were already at a disadvantage because they wouldn't know where their opponents were.
"Then, what do we do?! Huh, guys?" The silver-haired boy asked his team.
"We just talked about our pl-"
"I'll tell ya what," Tetsutetsu interrupted as his skin turned to metal.
"...What?" Sen asked a little skeptically.
Tetsutetsu then started jumping around to break down the pipes in front of him. "We'll have to level this place!"
"Terrible idea!" Sen shouted in disbelief—they would immediately get spotted.
"Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on!" Tetsutetsu shouted as he kept hitting the structure to knock it down.
"Are you nuts?!" Sen yelled towards his classmate. "Mr. Vlad said to keep damage to a minimum."
"Smashy, smashy, smash, smash, smash!" Tetsutetsu ignored him and kept doing it anyway.
Vlad was not pleased to say the least. "Okay. Maybe I should start shouting directly in the kid's face..."
Well, it's a little better than the biased commentary he's been giving ever since we started...maybe Izuka looked away sheepishly, scratching her cheek.
Shoto and his team looked up at the smoke. "What's that?" Mashirao wondered as they didn't move just yet.
"I hear the screeching sounds of metal against metal," Mezo reported while his ears listened in. "My guess? Tetsutetsu's loose."
Some of the surrounding structures started to fall towards the ground. "Level this whole place!" The boy shouted as he didn't relent.
Class B, Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu. Hero name: Real Steel. Quirk: Steel. He can turn his entire body into metal. That means he's both a deadly sword and the perfect shield.
Tetsutetsu punched a pipe to leave a big mark into it. "Take this! And this!" He then looked up with a big grin on his face. "No cheap tricks needed! It's a fight to the death! A brawl for the ages!"
"Hold on!" Sen attempted to get him to listen to reason. "The other team's got Todoroki on it!"
"Don't care!" Tetsutetsu ran forward to keep smashing stuff.
"I thought you said you were thinking!" Sen protested at his behavior. "You're just being obstinate!"
"Well, we can work with this too, I suppose," Juzo decided to just roll with it.
"And your thinking's too flexible, Juzo!" Sen shouted towards him with wide eyes.
"Ah, jeez!" Pony frowned towards her classmate. "You're gonna dog-gone blow it for us, metalhead!"
"You hear what you're making Pony sound like?" Sen gestured to the girl. "Is this what you want?"
Because Pony wasn't born in Japan, she tended to say things that people from the States would say. So she wasn't too familiar with Japanese culture.
"Tetsutetsu doesn't mean any harm. In fact, his approach even plays to our strengths," Juzo was trying to be optimistic.
"Great, now you're the one who sounds crazy," Sen couldn't believe that Juzo was even agreeing to all of this. At least Pony wasn't too happy about it, but still...
Tetsutetsu let out a laugh from the chaos. "Bring it on, ya villains!"
"The sound is getting louder," Mezo told his team as he continued listening. "Based on the reverberations, I believe he's destroying their surroundings."
"He's a good brawler," Shoto acknowledged, knowing that what happened with Itsuka and Tetsutetsu at camp. "They must intend to fight us head-on."
"If that's the case, I welcome the approach," Mashirao murmured as he narrowed his eyes a little. "It'll make it easier for us to deal with them."
"Agreed."
"Alright!" Tenya declared as he looked up, sliding a foot backwards. "Time to make our class proud. Let's go, Team 3!" All of them ran forward to find their opponents.
A villain was using his Quirk to drive along the roads like a normal car. He zipped around the other cars on the freeway. Kido, one of Endeavor's sidekicks, was chasing him down with a car. "The villain is continuing to flee down route five." The villain skidded to land on top of a truck, laughing as he jumped to land back on the road. He skidded around on his wheels. "Looks like we've been successful at driving him towards the harbor."
The villain glanced over his shoulder as he lost sight of the car that was chasing him. "Not catchin' me."
Unknown to him, Endeavor was nearby watching him up ahead. As the villain approached, Endeavor jumped off the bridge and landed in the villain's path. He looked up with a glare. The villain came to an immediate stop upon seeing him.
"E-Endeavor?!" He then went up a wall to try and flee.
"You won't escape!" Endeavor narrowed his eyes as he jumped.
The villain was still driving up the wall when he saw three kids kicking a ball around. "I'll take a hostage!" He jumped towards the three kids, but Endeavor came in to knock him down, to the shock of the children. As the smoke cleared, Endeavor hung onto the villain to keep him from moving any further.
"Get outta here!" He warned the kids. "Run!"
The boys screamed as they ran off in fear.
"Damn you," The villain growled as he rolled as fast as he could to try and get away. "Let go of me!"
"I'm afraid I can't do that," Endeavor then made his hands catch on fire.
The villain yelped in pain as it was his skin being affected. "No, stop, please! I'll go quietly!" He begged as his tires came to a stop.
"Good work, Endeavor!" Onima praised as the police took the villain away in a van. "Clean arrest!"
"Collateral damage?" The hero wondered to his sidekicks.
"Little to speak of," Kido reported back to him.
"Yeah, not many people at the harbor," Onima pointed out and Endeavor closed his eyes. "It was a smart plan."
"Of course."
"Um. Scuse me," One of the boys that ran off spoke up. Endeavor turned around to the trio of boys.
"What is it?"
"We...just wanted to say thank you!" One of them said timidly, since they knew Endeavor could be...terrifying to approach.
"For saving us!" A second one emphasized, though they were still put off by Endeavor's appearance.
"...Any of you hurt at all?"
They all smiled towards him. "No, sir!" They all chimed happily in unison.
"Best be off then."
"Bye!" They all waved to the hero and ran off, giggling.
"Endeavor, sir?" Onima wondered while Endeavor was looking at his phone. "We've had another hero ask about teaming up with you. You want me to make the usual report?"
"Yes," He responded offhandedly to him. "Just compile a list of active requests." With Fuyumi's help...I finally, finally got Shoto's contact info. He looked up, smoke coming from his nostrils as he kept looking at his phone. Shoto...there's something I want to tell you once more. His phone had several messages sent to Shoto, who had yet to respond. Although that had to do with him not knowing that Shoto couldn't have his phone on him right now. It was in his locker.
'Have time to talk?'
'I await your reply'
'Shoto'
It was honestly getting him a little pissed off. So stop ignoring my messages! I'm not the same person who disregarded what you wanted in life!
'Are you well?'
'Let's talk'
'I await your reply'
"Do not run from me. Do not run from your nature!" Enji ordered his son, who showed no signs of getting back up. "Stand up! Quit pretending to be weak!"
He gritted his teeth impatiently as he kept staring at the screen, waiting for Shoto to say something. Now that you're working toward becoming your own hero, I want to teach you that move, like a good father. And I want to talk to Mido, you two could work so well together! "To do that...you have to stop ignoring my messages, Shoto!" He growled out to his phone. "SHOTO!" His flames then started to expand as he didn't seem to realize that Shoto was still in class.
"His kid's probably in class, right?" Onima asked Kido a little awkwardly.
"It feels like all this Shoto shouting is getting worse by the day," Kido remarked; this hadn't been the first time Endeavor shouted his son's name during hero work.
Shoto let out a sneeze while running, wiping his nose with his wrist. "Are you okay?" Tenya hoped Shoto wasn't getting sick right now. "I didn't think you ever got sick!" Shoto never even so much had a cold from what he could tell. Because his Quirk regulated his temperatures, he most likely couldn't get sick.
"Yes. I'm sure I'm fine," Shoto dismissed it as Mashirao landed in front of them.
"We're almost there," He looked up to where the smoke was. "You know the plan, let's all spread out."
"On it!" Tenya ran off first.
"Make it count, Todoroki," Mezo informed as he went off towards the left.
Tetsutetsu laughed as he continued destroying the structure, to the dismay of both Pony and Sen.
"Tetsutetsu!" She shouted towards him, getting a little more annoyed. "The other team's not gonna show up just because you're making a racket! They'll think it's a trap!"
"No," Juzo looked over his shoulder. "I'd head this way if I were them. Get Shoji to figure out what's going on, then have Todoroki unleash a powerful attack. If I thought the other team was standing around out in the open..."
Suddenly, a large ice wall appeared before he could finish his sentence. Tetsutetsu let out a groan as he was caught in the ice. Shoto glared at his opponents.
As the other classmates watched, almost the whole camera was covered in ice. "That's our super strong ice master!" Minoru praised with wide eyes. "So cool!"
"And he made the ice so it's not blocking their line of sight," Ochaco pointed out, remembering Shoto's concern about controlling his ice in a big group. "He's gotten better!"
"Wow!" Izuka's eyes shined in awe as she clenched her fists. "That's so powerful! With someone as strong as Shoto on their side, this might be a quick match!"
Katsuki growled a little as he huffed, having overheard her. Damn that bastard. I'll show her a quick match after his is over! What's so great about him? You just watch, Izuka, I'll teach you who's better so that you'll forget him. I can't even believe she's even falling for this.
Izuku glanced over his shoulder to see his childhood friend glaring daggers at the unsuspecting Izuka and rubbed his neck. He could tell that Katsuki wasn't a big fan of Izuka gushing over Shoto's skills... He won't say it, but it's easy to see that Kacchan is jealous...and he has been ever since she wished Todoroki good luck earlier. I can see why he thinks that Todoroki is a threat, but...from what I can see, she's never looked at him the way she looks at Kacchan. But I don't think that'd be enough to convince him... He gave a sheepish look, knowing that anything Izuka said wouldn't change Katsuki's mind. Though he still had no idea that the two had kissed, also something she hadn't done with Shoto at all. Izuka's match with Katsuki would probably put things into perspective...hopefully.
"Now we know where Todoroki is. The others?" Tetsutetsu called out to his team.
"Can't see them!" Sen reported back, gritting his teeth as he looked around. Tenya was hiding in the pipes as he watched from above.
Even if Honenuki has used his Quirk to soften the ground on us...it won't matter if we stick them in place Tenya thought to himself.
Mashirao was also hiding nearby, looking out to the field as well. With their movements inhibited...we'll take them in one swoop.
Tenya powered up his Engine and took off. "Recipro Burst!"
"Come get some!" Tetsutetsu challenged the class rep.
As soon as Tenya stepped onto the ice, it caved in underneath his foot as it felt softer. "What?!"
Shoto and Mashirao gasped in realization as Juzo had already used his Quirk on the ice and pipes in the frozen area. He was touching a pipe as he was the only one who wasn't trapped in the ice. "Blasting ice is a cheap move. Though if you'd been coldhearted and used fire, we wouldn't have been able to trap you."
Class B, Juzo Honenuki. Hero name: Mudman. Quirk: Softening. He makes the things he touches turn soft. They go back to normal when he touches them again. Doesn't work on living things though.
Sen grinned while kicking the soft material off him. "Thanks, Juzo! Gotta love how flexible that power is."
Juzo gave him a thumbs up.
This relaxed rockstar took one of Class B's recommendation spots!
Mashirao was jumping over pipes as he realized what happened. "He must have activated his Quirk the moment the ice appeared. A fast reaction," He glanced back at the softened ice while in the air. "I'll retreat for now and wait for-" He yelped as he landed on a pipe that Juzo touched, causing him to sink.
"Found you! I softened a bunch of random stuff around here, so it'd be smart to watch your step," Juzo pointed out at him. This way, he could hear where his opponents were should they try to sneak up on any of them.
"Class B does an excellent job of brushing off Todoroki's area attack!" Vlad King grinned into the microphone. "Now to show their stuff!"
"Honenuki guessed that the ice was coming?" Hanta wondered next to Rikido.
"That, or he improvised crazy fast," Rikido pointed out in thought. "Is he really that good at reading the situation? I hope our classmates haven't been thrown off."
Izuka blinked towards the screen from her spot. He's kind of like Izuku in that way to be able to assess the situation and know what to do.
Sen smiled while his hands spun around like drills. "Nice job, Juzo! I'll handle Ojiro!" He jumped forward to attack, Mashirao holding up his tail to block it. He gritted his teeth as the drill was painful against his tail.
I can't guard against this for long!
Sen pulled back with a grin.
Class B, Sen Kaibara. Hero name: Spiral. Quirk: Gyrate. He can make any part of his body spin like a supercharged drill!
Sen smacked his hand against Mashirao's tail, causing him to fly backwards. He attacked again and Mashirao could barely hold back against it.
"Ojiro!" Tenya ran over to assist him. However, the pipe he was running on started to sink. "Caught again?!" He yelped as he got stuck in the softened ice. Clearly, it was going to be difficult for him to move around since he kept getting stuck.
"Your legs are only as strong as what you're standing on," Juzo pointed out as he was nearby. "The ground beneath the ice is also softened. You're difficult to deal with. So I'll leave you trapped in the muck for now."
"Are you trying to keep us from working as a team?" Tenya demanded as he started to sink like he was in quicksand. "Villain! Your wickedness knows no bounds!"
"He really gets into character," Hitoshi murmured as he couldn't help but give Tenya points for that.
"It's going to be hard for them to get around now," Izuku frowned a little. "Class B's team doesn't have anyone good at reconnaissance. But as long as their opponents are trapped in one place, that's not a disadvantage."
"Something they took into account," Izuka narrowed her eyes a bit. "Honenuki-San can make anything in the area unusable for Ida to run around on. It won't be easy for him to work with..."
"With his ice off the table, Todoroki is operating at half his power," Hitoshi noted, remembering that during the Sports Festival, Shoto didn't use his fire much until two specific rounds.
"Correctomundo," Neito smiled proudly at this strategy. "All that's left is to overwhelm them."
Mashirao was still trying and failing to fend off Sen's attacks.
In this situation... Shoto gritted his teeth a little. I can't use my Quirk to the best of my abilities. Should I go to the front? He was behind the ice wall with Mezo behind him. Then there'd be no one to guard Shoji as he scouts.
Four horns went flying towards them, capturing Mezo and dragging him away. "What?!" Shoto turned around in alarm.
Pony's horns grew back on her head immediately. "I was betting they'd keep Shoji in what they thought was a safe place far from where we are! Like...hidden behind their so-called ace Todoroki!" She smirked, holding up her fingers towards her headband.
Class B, Pony Tsunotori. Quirk: Horn Cannon. She can send her horns flyin'! Currently, she can control up to four of them once they've shot off her head! She's pretty particular about keeping them polished.
She fired off four more towards Mezo to grab two of his arms. He grunted as he couldn't even break free from them. "These are stronger than I expected."
She got onto her feet. "Tetsutetsu!" Two horns hooked around his armpits as he was sent flying.
"Here we go!" He grinned while heading towards the ice wall. "Horn Dash..." Shoto turned around to hear the boy's voice. "Hammer!" Before Shoto could react, Tetsutetsu broke through the ice wall, grabbing his opponent by the face and arm. "Are my teeth chattering? You're so freaking cold, my brain feels like it's gettin' frosty. If I weren't on top of things, you'd freeze my steel solid! Think you can beat me in a hand-to-hand fight? You don't stand a chance!" He then tossed Shoto onto the ground hard.
"Man's been paying attention," Eijiro took note of his Class B friend's move. "He's doing what Mr. Aizawa said I shoulda done in my match."
"Nah, I bet he's not thinkin' all that much," Denki didn't see it. "Honenuki seems like the one who's calling most of the shots."
Sen lunged forward to try and hit Mashirao, who moved out of the way. "What's the matter? You keep on dodging!"
"Be good and stay there, okay?" Pony questioned Mezo, who she trapped to a pipe with her horns.
Meanwhile, Tenya's entire body was submerged into the softened ice, which Juzo had unsoftened already. So now Tenya was trapped in ice completely. "You are evil incarnate!" Tenya declared angrily while struggling.
"Sorry about it," Juzo sighed a little, turning to him. "Recipro has a time limit, right? Not so smart to use it right at the beginning." He then turned around and walked off. "Anyway, I'm gonna go help Tetsutetsu."
"A time limit?" Tenya realized that Juzo assumed that right after he used his ultimate move, that there was a set amount of time he could use it. Something he saw at the Sports Festival. "That was a while ago, Mudman." Juzo stopped and turned around in confusion. "Ingenium will rush anywhere at anytime." The ice around him started to crack, smoke coming from the cracks. "That's what these legs are for! They won't be constrained!" He then broke the ice open, to Juzo's surprise. Tenya glared as he was now free. "You see? I've been at full throttle this entire time!" He was heading towards Juzo using his Engine while in ice. "New Style. Recipro Turbo!"
"Seriously?" Juzo looked at him in alarm.
"Congrats on getting your provisional license, little bro," Tensei smiled while in a wheelchair, his mother helping him move around.
"Thanks, Tensei."
"You're abusing your Engine a bit much though, aren't you?" Tensei pointed out, looking up at his mother. "Hey, Mom. He's getting close to that age, you know? Don't you think it's time?"
"Well, he's matured," Mrs. Ida answered, to Tenya's confusion. "But I still feel like it might be too soon for that."
"Tuning my Engine?" Tenya wondered as he gripped at his mufflers.
"Yeah," Tensei smiled a little, since he had done the same growing up. "Training is good, but you can also pull your mufflers out. Do it right, and parts that can take more of a beating will grow back in their place."
Tenya was gritting his teeth in pain while pulling at his mufflers. "It's a technique passed down from our grandfather, so that the Ida family can help more people and do it faster than anyone else." Tenya was biting down on something while trying to pull them out. "This will be painful, though." He let out a muffled yelp of pain as he managed to get one out. "And it takes a lot of dedication. But if you want to improve your Quirk, this is the way to do it."
His mufflers were burning up first at the tips to give him more firepower. "I've raised Recipro's horsepower...and lowered fuel consumption to the minimum! Ten minutes!" He skidded out of the ice. "For ten minutes, nobody can stop me!"
