"I'm going to pick up Luke's search for Exegol," Rey said. "I'm going to begin where his trail went cold."
"Definitely a good place to start," Poe agreed. "Where did his trail go cold? Where did he check?"
"Let's see…" Rey replied. "Leia sent me his notes… okay, here we go."
She tapped a command, and the projector lit up with a holographic map of the whole galaxy. A course traced itself, green dots forming a single path from which a forest of red lines spiked out.
"False trails, right?" Finn asked. "So the green ones are where he found something, and the red ones are where he didn't."
"Right," Rey confirmed, then pointed past the green trail – to one of the red lines. "And the trail went cold… here. The Forbidden Desert of Pasaana."
"...uh," Finn began. "Any more details? Like, somewhere specific to look?"
Rey shook her head. "If he'd had anywhere specific to look, he would have looked there," she pointed out. "I said the trail went cold."
"So, what, we go there and hope to get lucky?" Finn asked. "We've got less than sixteen hours to find Exegol! We can't afford a single misstep!"
"Do you have a better idea?" Rey asked.
Finn frowned. "Well… I was making sure you understood how big a deal this is," he said. "Yeah, I agree, I don't have a better idea where to start, but – we're talking about searching a planet in sixteen hours. Less! And then, we need to keep going! This took a master Jedi years! And he failed!"
"I've got a better idea," Poe said.
"Really?" Rey replied, turning to him. "Like what?"
"Really!" Poe replied, firmly. "Look, this is a record of everywhere Luke went on the search… and Kef Bir isn't included."
The other two stared at him.
"Where's Kef Bir?" Rey asked.
"What is Kef Bir?" Finn agreed.
"Kef Bir," Poe repeated. "One of the moons of Endor. It's where bits of the Death Star crashed, including the command spire. And I'm pretty sure that Palpatine didn't intend to die at Endor, so… honestly it's the first place I'd look for anything the Sith were trying to keep secret."
He paused. "Well, second after Vader's palace, but it looks like Luke already checked there."
Rey and Finn exchanged glances.
"...all right, then, let's go there," Rey decided.
