Izuku, over the course of a few days, makes it past a huge lake and all the way to a town where everyone has an Audino and loves them. He also gets his Pokémon checked up at the Pokemon Center and is able to call his dads. After dropping his pokemon off, Izuku makes his way to the phones calling his Papa and Dad's office number. After a few moments they both pick and smile seeing Izuku on the screen.
"Hi little passenger, how has your journey been?" Papa asks with Dad looking interested as well. "Really good. I'm about a week, if a little less, to Nimbasa City. I also have a surprise to show you when I get home, we also got to see the Cottonee pairing at Rainbow Valley, which was verrry amazing, " Izuku says while smiling. "Bravo, that's wonderful we remember going through the valley but at the wrong time of year to see the Cottonee!" Dad says. Izuku talks with his parents for a few more minutes before Nurse Joy calls, "Izuku Kandó please come to the desk your Pokémon are ready."
"Well, I see you in a few days, I love you," Izuku says. "We love you too little passenger, see you soon," Dad and Papa respond before Izuku hangs up and heads to the front desk to pick up his Pokéballs, "Are Lampent and Galvantula ok? I know evolution in battle can cause some strain on the Pokémon?" "Your Lampent and Galvantula are doing just fine, the care you have for your Pokémon shows with how healthy they are," Nurse Joy says. Izuku smiles at that before saying, " Thank you, well I'll be heading out of this Station now. Have a good day Nurse Joy." Izuku then makes his way back onto the road letting Galvantula and Lampent out to join him. Izuku travels for another two days battling more trainers and helping Jangmo-o and Riolu to get stronger before challenging the gym.
He sees a huge building with the sign "Fossil Restoration Lab" in front. "This must be where Papa got Archeops restoration done," Izuku mutters to himself when a loud crash is heard. Izuku turns to see a Pokémon break through the side of the building, not recognizing it, Izuku pulls his Pokédex out and scans it.
Amaura
It lived in cold areas in ancient times. It's said that when Amaura whinnies, auroras appear in the night sky.
"So that's an Amaura, it's so cute!" Izuku squeals while observing its reactions.
He sees that it looks scared and turns wildly before looking at Izuku and takes a few steps back. Seeing this reaction Izuku gets down on his knees to be smaller, pulling out some Oran berries and calls, "Hey there Amaura it's alright I don't want to hurt you. Want some food I have plenty to share." He then gives some to Lampent and Galvantula who cheer before eating the berries happily, while Izuku sets some berries on the ground before backing away. It nervously looks at Izuku a moment before turning towards the food and slowly approaches watching Izuku and his Pokémon the whole time. It starts eating the berries carefully after freezing them before looking at Izuku and his Pokémon.
"Amaura aura," Amaura chimes out before slowly walking towards Izuku. Izuku just stays kneeling and smiling gently while letting the Pokémon come to him at its own pace. After Amaura reaches Izuku, Izuku slowly raises his hand while Amaura looks on warily. Izuku then gently starts petting Amaura and gently scratching her head while she coos happily at the feeling. Izuku looks up as the doors to the building open, seeing Professor Juniper running out along with two other scientists in lab coats right behind her. Professor Juniper stops staring at the little fossil Pokémon who is being petted by Izuku only for one scientist to yell, "There you are Amaura, get back in the lab right now!"
This makes Izuku frown as Amaura runs and hides behind Izuku. Lampent and Galvantula step in front of Amaura and Izuku protectively letting off sparks and flames.
"That's not verrrry nice you know, maybe you need a quick jolt to get you back onto the proper tracks," Izuku says smiling like his Papa when he's in a bad mood. This causes the man to take a step back as Professor Juniper quickly steps forward and says, " I'm sorry Izuku about Mr. Eolith. Amaura there was just revived and had a panic attack upon seeing us. Amaura began blasting through a few rooms and the side of the building trying to get out. We were worried it would hurt itself or someone else.
If you come inside I will explain everything." "Alright I trust you Professor. Amaura we are going back into the building so that we can have a safe place to talk. I promise I won't let them hurt you," Izuku says, turning from the professor to Amaura and gently petting it, causing Amaura to look at the building warily before slowly nodding. They make their way inside with Professor Juniper leading them into a big room down the hallway with a machine as tall as a table with an enclosed section at the top in the center of the room.
"So Izuku, we're doing research on fossils and the Pokémon of the past trying to find out how they lived, we have done only three other Pokémon that have been revived. The others were as freaked out but not like this," Professor Juniper says while showing Izuku around. "That's really amazing Professor Juniper and may I make a suggestion as to why Amaura reacted the way it did," Izuku responds while watching Amaura start to play with Lampent and Galvantula. "As if a kid like you would have knowledge and scientific skills to be able to figure out something like this," Mr. Eolith says haughtily.
"That's enough Mr. Eolith! Go file the successful restoration of Amaura!! Go ahead Izuku tell me what you think," Professor Juniper yells at the scientist while pointing at the door before turning to Izuku. "Well Amaura seems like a herd Pokémon so when Amaura was revived and no other Pokémon around probably panicked when seeing beings that never seen before and thought you were a threat," Izuku says while standing straight and both arms behind his back.
"That's brilliant Izuku you definitely gained your dads' intelligence, but that means Amaura won't do well without other Pokemon which we can't have here because of all the special and expensive equipment," Professor Juniper replies while looking at Izuku in amazement. "That's not good, maybe you can move Amaura to another lab that can house more Pokémon so you can study Amaura better," Izuku suggests while observing Amaura nuzzling Galvantula while blowing out some ice.
"Actually Izuku, I would like it if you would take Amaura with you on your journey. It's clear you're the one she trusts most. Plus it would be good data to see how Amaura will react to this world as there are not many revived fossil Pokémon yet. I think your parents being the only ones in all of Unova to have a revived fossil Pokémon. So Amaura will be in an environment with someone who cares and you will have people who can help you make Amaura more comfortable in modern times," Professor Juniper makes her request.
Izuku pauses, looking over at all his Pokémon who are playing and interacting with Amaura before saying, "Alright sounds good to me I will gladly take Amaura onto my team. Papa and Dad can help me figure out the best care for her when I get back home." Izuku walks up to Amaura getting her attention before asking, " Hey Amaura Professor Juniper says you can come with me, what do you say you want to join me and my family?" Amaura nods happily while cooing as Izuku takes out a Pokéball and gently taps Amaura who disappears into the Pokéball. After Izuku heads out with pep in his step at having a new member to his team.
