Lloyd POV: After telling us about Kai we all ended at the table, waiting for Zane to make some lunch. He mentioned that it was going to be a pizza. Cole and I sat on one side while Jay and Nya were opposite of us. With none of us were talking. I'm not hungry, but Cole suggested that it would help us calm down a bit. I don't think he's really right about that. Though, it was a distraction, and I did appreciate it. And ok, maybe a small part of me did want to have some of Zane's cooking. However, Nya wasn't able to really relax yet, despite Jay holding and comforting her. Even while we were just sitting here she was ready to jump up at any second. Not that I can blame her since I know why. The lack of information was driving me crazy too.

Jay cleared his throat and said, "Well, the silence is way too awkward. Let's talk about something."

"Yeah, like… how about… um." Cole tried to talk, but even he couldn't find a topic.

Thankfully, soon Zane walked back in and told us, "The food will be done after fifteen minutes." He sat down next to me as he talked.

"Thanks Zane." I responded, with Nya numbly nodding too.

The others seemed to notice this and Jay spoke up. "What do you think Kai is going to want when he wakes up? He's got to be a little bit hungry."

She hummed and commented, "Probably noodles. Those have always been his comfort food. But I'm guessing that he won't be able to have much."

"Nothing solid, no. However, I will make some once he can handle it." Zane tried to reassure, but I don't think it was enough. If anything she looked even more gloomy.

Again, Jay squeezed her shoulders and said, "Hey, at least he can still eat. That counts, right?"

She scoffed, but she did have a small smile from that. Nice one Jay. I cleared my throat and asked, "What exactly can he have?"

"Light things such as soup, for starters. I'll have to do some research for more options." He immediately answered. Honestly I'm more surprised that he hasn't done any research yet.

"That would be a good idea. Given how picky he is with soup." Cole said, and I groaned softly because of how true that is. Kai likes maybe two kinds, chicken noodle and miso. We're going to need to find other foods fast.

Cole patted my back and commented, "What about Jell-O? Can he have that?"

"Yes, but that's not exactly a meal. At least by itself." Zane said, thinking it over.

"It's a start. We'll figure this out. By the way, has Pixal called yet?" Nya finally spoke up. But I'm thinking that she's barely keeping it together.

Unfortunately, Zane shook his head and told her, "I'm afraid not. She's, most likely, still investigating the scene."

She was very clearly not happy about that and crossed her arms. But Zane simply continued, "On another note, I believe it would be a good idea to return to the Monastery. Kai would most likely feel more comfortable there than on the Bounty."

"That's a good idea. Though we should wait until he's awake. Last thing we should do is spook him with the flying ship." Cole commented, and I agree with him completely.

Besides, I can already hear him saying that the med-bay beds are too hard to sleep on, so we should just let him leave. He won't be able to complain about that if he has own bed. And he won't feel like he's holding us back because he's hurt, since he's said things like that before too…

That's when I heard a creak from the hall.

Kai POV: Even in complete darkness I still had a numbing pain all over, and the creeping light wasn't making it better. I groaned, even that hurt, and I opened one of my eyes before squeezing them shut again. Everything was really bright for some reason, but I forced them open. It took a bit before I could finally see that I was in the med-bay. I guess that explains the pain, but why was I here? The last thing I remember was being in the museum and then… nothing.

I groaned as I forced myself to sit up, but the second I moved my arms a sudden pain shot through them. I shot up and hissed, holding my arms close to my chest. After a few breaths the pain relaxed a little and I looked. Both my arms were covered completely in bandages, but they weren't turning red so I guess I didn't open anything. And they didn't explain why everything was hurting. Or why I was wearing a loose white shirt and pants and not my uniform. But I wasn't going to learn anything here. Besides, if I was banged up then someone else could be too. I need to see them as soon as possible.

I had to do it slowly, but I moved my legs off the bed. However, the second I put weight on my feet I could feel how little my strength was at the moment. Not to mention how shaky I was already feeling. But I made up my mind.

I slowly walked to the door, which was slightly open, and carefully opened it. Even moving my hands really hurt, but thankfully I didn't have to use the handle. Though I tried to walk normally, I eventually had to use the wall to support myself. I had to take way too many breaks to catch my breath and to think.

The others had to be somewhere, but where? I hope that it's not the deck. That's a ways away and I don't have the best balance right now. Thankfully, I soon saw a light from the dining room and some voices. I'm really glad that they were close. I took a few more breaths and walked over to the door.

It was already slightly open and I just had to slide it to fully open it. Lloyd was the first one to see, and he was shocked and speechless. Nya noticed this and turned, right before she jumped up.

"Kai?!" She almost yelled, and that made everyone turn to me. They all got the same shocked look as Lloyd.

She immediately walked up to me and asked, "What are you doing? You should be resting."

"I was just trying to find you guys." I said, but she wasn't listening. She made me sit down with her, and Lloyd joined her by sitting on my left.

Even Zane commented, "You should have remained in bed Kai. You require a lot of rest in order to regain your strength."

I stopped myself from rolling my eyes and just responded. "I got that, but I couldn't just sit around waiting."

Cole sighed and said, "Dude, we already know that you're impatient. We don't need any more reminders."

I scoffed, then cringed from the pain that followed. Both Nya and Lloyd tried to comfort me before Lloyd spoke up. "Maybe we should get you back to bed."

I liked that idea, but I had to ask my question first. "At least tell me what happened. The last thing that I remember was being in the museum."

Everyone got quiet and shared concerned looks with each other. Except Zane, who had his thinking look on at the moment. Was what happened that bad?

"I believe it would be best if you simply focus on recovering for now. We can worry about those… details on a later date." Zane answered, breaking the silence.

I really didn't like that answer, and I was going to argue until Nya said, "Kai… You're bleeding."

I turned to her and saw that she was staring at my shoulder. When I looked I saw that she was right. My shirt was slowly turning red. I didn't even feel it…

Zane immediately walked over and took a look, moving my shirt so that he could look at the bandages. They were already red and slightly wet. "Do you feel any pain?" Zane asked, helping me up with Nya and Lloyd.

"No…" I answered. But I could feel myself getting dizzy. I leaned against Nya without thinking about it and she took my weight.

"Come on. Let's get you back to bed." She said, gently and quietly.

I nodded slightly, letting them lead me back to the med-bay. And it was a lot harder than before. What the heck is happening to me?

Jay POV: After they all left with Kai I turned to Cole and asked, "How did he not feel that?"

"Um… Maybe adrenaline?" He didn' sound confident about his answer at all. Neither did I.

"...Right, but I don't like how he got pale at the end there. It was like he crashed in two seconds." I added, and he nodded. Which was a whole new concern. Kai doesn't crash easily, even injured like this. And he didn't even try to hide it like he usually does.

What is happening to him?
