Chapter 72: Untimely Reunion
Blade followed Hunter through the hotel they'd been staying in. "Umm…Are you absolutely sure we should be wandering off like this. I mean, won't your trainer…"
"Our trainer," Hunter barked, putting extra emphasis on our "doesn't matter right now. This is more important to me."
"Yeah, but…" Blade couldn't think what to say. "But…" He let out a low growl in frustration. "Hey, where are you going?"
In truth Blade didn't care what Cameron thought, he was just worried he'd have to deal with Lucario if anything happened to Hunter, and that was more hassle than he needed.
Hunter had sped up as they wandered out of the hotel to the beach front. If he'd gone any faster he would be running. Blade almost had to jog to catch him up.
"Hunter wait up…Do you even know where you're going!"
Hunter came to a stop just by the edge of the ocean. He stared out at the sea and took a deep breath.
"I said, do you know where you're going," gasped Blade as he finally caught up to the Riolu.
"No," Hunter admitted. "But I can always find Ashachu. Always."
Blade groaned and rolled his eyes. "Oh Arceus." He folded his arms and shot Hunter a coy smirk. "Please don't tell me you can reach out to him with your heart!"
Hunter glared at him. "Uh No. I can sense Ashachu with these." He motioned to his aura sensors. "I've grown so accustomed to Ashachu's aura, that I bet I could sense him from a hundred kilometres away. It's actually kind of weird not feeling them close to me. I just need to get a vantage point."
To Blade's surprise Hunter raised to paws to his mouth and cried out "OLOU RIOLU." His bark echoed across the waves.
"What the…" Blade heard a cry somewhere above, and looked to the sky. He could see something large descending toward them until He was suddenly crushed under it on landing.
He gave a muffled protest, trying to say get the fuck off me, but it only came out as "gmmffummhh." The pressure was immense, only offset by the soft sand beneath him.
"Oops," a familiar voice trilled from overhead. "Sorry…hehehehe."
"Hey Tropius," he heard Hunter say cheerfully,
"Hey Hunty," Tropius replied. "Need a ride. Where are we going?"
Hunter spoke again. "Somewhere important!"
"Okay." She replied, sinking down to let the Riolu on. With the added side effed of applying more pressure to Blade's poor head.
"Motherfucker," he groaned, beneath her hoof.
Fortunately for him she took off into the sky leaving him nearly buried in the sand.
"Fuck," the Sneasel grunted to himself, spitting out a mouthful of sand. "I've got to catch up with him before he does something stupid. I should have told him when I had the chance!" Blade thought back to what had led to this.
*Flashback*
Blade didn't know or care what was happening outside his pokeball, he felt trapped and cramped, so he decided this was as good a time as any.
With a loud POP he set himself loose. "Hey, is it battle time yet," he asked, raising his recently resharpened claws. "Fuck, that Pokéball gives me a fucking crick in the back and…Oh. Well, this is awkward!" He only then realized that he was standing before Ash, Pikachu, and that detestable Axew.
"Wait…Isn't that" Ash pointed to him.
Pikachu finished the sentence. "Blade the Sneasel."
"Yew." Axew just glared at him, a soft growl escaping his snout.
"Believe me buddy, the feeling's mutual," Blade growled under his breath as he heard the little Dragon's cry. If not for the other Pokemon that would help Axew, Blade would've torn his tongue out that very moment.
Ash looked incredulously at Cameron. "You caught HIM! That Sneasel."
"It's a long story," Cameron replied, somewhat nervously.
Suddenly a great "Rwahhh," was heard from above as Charizard landed beside Ash with a large thud. Blade noticed Ashachu poking over the fire type's shoulder.
Ashachu noticed Blade almost immediately and his jaw dropped with surprise "B-Blade."
Without warning Charizard let out a roar of fury and belched a jet of flame at the Sneasel.
"whoa!"
Blade jumped out of the way, watching as his trainer and the surrounding pokemon also moved to evade the flames. Unfortunately for Blade he hadn't been fast enough and his tail feathers caught fire. And comically Blade jumped high into the air with a pained "YAHHHH." As he did.
"Charizard NO," cried Ash.
At the same time Cameron gasped, "What the hell!"
They each whipped out their respective Pokémon's ball and shouted "RETURN!"
Charizard and Blade dissolved into clouds of red energy, vanishing back inside their pokeballs.
'This isn't fair, I didn't even do anything….' Blade pouted within the ball.
*End Flashback*
After finally recovering and shaking the sand out of his fur Blade looked around, he had to follow Hunter and fast. "He'll be devastated when he finds out those two are together!" Blade took off running in the general direction of where tropius had flown. "Damnit, that idiot is just gonna do something stupid." In his rush to keep pace with the flying Tropius Blade bumped into someone, falling over and pushing them down as well.
Blade shook his head clear as he looked back, seeing a bird pokemon behind him. He turned around and helped them up. "Sorry, I'm in a bit of a rush." Before Blade turned to leave he had an idea. "um actually could you do me a favor?"
Trumbeak glared at him and slowly gave him an "I'm listening."
"My friend is going to do something stupid that could really get him hurt, please, can you carry me to follow that Tropius that just flew overhead?"
Trumbeak thought for a moment and shook its head.
"Please!" Blade pleaded.
Trumbeak leaned forward "I will, but only on one condition!"
"What is it?" Blade suddenly felt nervous.
"I want a kiss. And an apology."
Blade looked almost repulsed at the thought. 'eh I've been with all kinds of pokemon for a lot less than this….' Blade frowned and leaned closer "Fine, ya weirdo"
"Not on my face you fool!"
"Then where!?" Blade shouted in irritation.
"My wing, you kicked it when you knocked us over."
'Are you fucking kidding me…ugh' Blade struggled to maintain his composure. Then he took the trumbeak by the wing and gave it a gentle kiss. "I'm very sorry I ran into you. There, ya happy?"
"Your attitude could use some work, but fine, since you're in a rush" Trumbeak flapped it's wings lifting into the air quickly grabbing Blade by the shoulders and flying off.
They caught sight of Tropius once they cleared the trees, but she was lowering toward the ground.
"Quickly!" Blade pointed forward.
"Could you not move, you're heavier than you look!" Trumbeak sounded irritated.
"I'm not the one who wasted time and energy cause they wanted a kiss on the wing!"
"I will drop you!"
*A Few Minutes Later*
"What do you want from me I wanted to help my friend, why were you on the ground and not in a tree!"
The argument had gone on longer than anticipated and Trumbeak was so infuriated by Blade that they'd simply devolved into shouting "Trum! Beak! Trumbeak!"
"Oh so now you were just out on a …." Blade fell silent as he noticed theriolu on the beach beneath him. "Oh we're here." Suddenly Trumbeak let go, and Blade reacting nearly instantly grabbed their legs. "Sorry about this!"
Trumbeak panicked suddenly and they both went plummeting to the ground.
'This is gonna hurt!' Blade thought as he called out. "Hunter….WAIT!"
As they fell closer, Blade called out again, "AHHHH! MAKE WAY, INCOMING."
Hunter as well as the already present Ashachu and Charizard moved out of the way quickly.
Just in time it seemed as Blade and Trumbeak landed almost exactly where Charizard had been standing.
Ashachu stepped forward to see who it was. "Of course," he muttered as he saw the two sprawled in a heap where they crashed.
"Trum Trumbeak…" Blade heard them cawing angrily at him. "Beak Trumbeak…"
"Alright, Alright…Hey I said I'm sorry…Ugh my head!" Blade rubbed his head as he stood up.
"Trumbeak BEAK," Trumbeak cawed, glaring and stamping it's claws on the ground angrily.
Blade glared back dismissively waved his claw. "Oh no buddy, I've already given you everything you're getting, and that was a particularly crappy landing. Not to mention slow. Now piss off."
"BEAK." Trumpbeak gave an indigent cry before lashing out at Blade, fluttering into the air, and striking him in the head with his claws and beak.
"Ouch…Why you little." Blade let out a pained and annoyed cry at the flurry of attacks. "Son of a…" He took a swipe at the flying type with his claw, causing Trumbeak to reel backwards in the air.
"Beak Beak." Trumbeak surveyed the angry Sneasel for a moment before deciding it wasn't worth the fight. "Trumbeak." The bird Pokémon rolled its eyes before disappearing into the sky.
Ashachu rose back to his hind legs folding his arms and frowning at Blade. "You really have a way with Pokémon, don't you?"
"Seriously Blade. Again!" groaned Hunter who, like Ashachu, had folded his arms and was giving the Sneasel a disapproving look.
"Fucking flying types," Blade growled shaking his claw at Trumbeak as it flew away. "Every time!" He shook his head before turning to Hunter. "Sorry kiddo. I was trying' to stop you before you did something foolish but." He glanced back at Ashachu and Charizard. "Seems that might have already happened. I really didn't want you to find out this way!"
Hunter frowned at him. "Find out! Find out what?" And then his eyes widened in shock. "What, you mean."
"You mean you didn't already realise it from what we were just doing," Ashachu asked incredulous.
"No, I thought. You mean!"
"Charizard and I are mates!" Ashachu's tail twitched as spoke.
"Permanent mates," Charizard growled. "As in mates for life!"
Blade looked down sadly, he should have told Hunter already.
The riolu's face flashed with several emotions; shock, disgust, sadness, anger and finally rage. "Are you fucking kidding me," he barked at the top of his lungs. "Are you fucking kidding me."
Blade felt awkward standing there watching it all transpire. The two seemed angry at each other. Not that he blamed them with how things seemed to end between them.
"What's your problem?" was all Ashachu said.
"Ashachu, what on earth were you thinking," Hunter continued. "Charizard's ten times your size, and a hundred times stronger than you. I thought he was just being a pervert but… And besides that, how could you?"
That last comment annoyed Ashachu greatly. "Hunter. You broke up with me!"
"No, I mean literally, how could you," said Hunter, putting emphasis on the word how. "He so large, the sheer mechanics of it are mind-boggling. How have you not been torn in half?"
If not for how tense it was, Blade might have laughed at the situation.
"Okay, I'm done with this." Ashachu threw his paws in the air dramatically. "Come on Chari, let's go!" He turned and walked away, climbing onto Charizard's tail, and crawling up his back.
Charizard watched Hunter carefully with a deep scowl. He turned his back to Hunter and stretched out his wings.
"I'm sorry bud, I should have told ya," Blade said, clasping a paw on Hunter's shoulder. "I tried to tell ya. But you were so keen to find Ashachu again!" Blade felt horrible for not telling him sooner.
Hunter brushed Blade's claw aside, more forcefully than he needed to, and ran towards Charizard. "You Ashachu stealing pervert, I'll fight you."
'Ashachu stealing?' Blade thought. It was how Ashachu felt about Geyser, that he was trying to steal Hunter. Maybe he did know how he felt after all.
He fired a single focus blast at Charizard's back….
Blade reacted quickly running up to help Hunter. Charizard will just beat them down, Blade knows that much, but he doesn't care, not when the threat of Lucario's wrath is far more frightening.
