Fuse

Walking with Ruby through the school hallways, I decided to chat with her on the way to her dorm.

"So, what are you kids even doing these days with the entire city being owned by those losers?" I curiously asked. These kids are training to be fighters or something from the look of it. There might be something I can try for fun.

Her attention was pulled away from the Wand of Sparking I gave her, to briefly answer, "Uh… Well, we still do school work. We can't really go into Vale anymore without being in danger… Although, they usually let people go without much of a fuss. Er, we still fight the Grimm. They've gotten a lot stronger since the Gamers came and made everyone afraid of them."

Grimm… Hm, those are the generic monsters of the world, right? I might kill all of them for the experience.

Well, I can do that later. It's not like the other gamers are threatening to steal those kills. Though, just to be sure, I should ask how strong they generally are.

Turning the corner, I asked, "So, if all those Gamers were unleashed upon the world, who would win? Them, or the Grimm?"

"Well, the Gamers are really strong, but there are a lot of Grimm…"

The setup of that answer reminded me of something. Isn't this the Pokemon versus a billion lions thing all over again?

Ruby continued unknowing of my sudden onset of nostalgia at dumb questions, "I think the Grimm would probably win, its a lot of Grimm-"

"It's 90 Gamers, dumbass," I blurted out on reflex, immensely confusing her, "I think some of them, if they're not weak, can literally change reality on a whim. There's not a fucking chance they lose to some generic ass monsters."

Ruby didn't even know what to say, looking at me as if I had grown three heads and nine arms.

I doubled down, ranting, "Okay, maybe not change reality, but definitely really close to it. If they weren't at that level, I could just kill them all because I can change reality to some degree and I wouldn't accept enemies weaker than that. Meanwhile, what are these Grimm? What can they do? There's a lot of them, but considering you're training to fight them, they can't be that strong. There's just no way. Hell, give me a few minutes and I'll use Detroit to erase them out of existence. Maybe they can't replicate that feat but I sure as hell can. Even if you don't count me, the other 90 Gamers can all band together for at least 10 minutes to fucking curbstomp anything that comes their way. If they couldn't, they're fucking garbage. Hell, I know-"

"Um, Fuse, we made it to my team's room," Ruby cut in, making me stop ranting.

Looking at the door for a moment, I paused and thought about my next words.

Then, I said, "Great, your team can listen to how stupid this whole billion lions versus Pokemon thing is too."

"A billion what versus what?"

"Come on, I'm kicking your door down."

Staying true to my word, I raised my leg into the air and slammed it into team RWBY's door.

Unfortunately, I didn't account for my strength, and I ended up destroying the wall and ended up shaking the entire building for a bit.

The three other girls in their team wordlessly looked at Ruby and I, confused as hell and looking for answers.

Sheepishly coughing into my hand, I quietly apologized, "My bad, I can, uh, fix this."

Using my geomancer skills and my telekinesis, I managed to piece back together their wall and place it back.

Now, hopefully, we will never speak of this again.

Quickly checking on the statuses of her team, it all looked correct. Weiss, Blake, and Yang. That all lined up with what I was told by the other Gamers in the brief time I had to suffer their words.

Getting up from her bed, Weiss asked the obvious question, "Ruby, who did you bring to our room?"

Yang was the one to answer, "Weiss! Haven't you checked the internet in the last hour!? That's a Gamer!"

"What?!" Was the instantaneous reply of Weiss and Blake, who apparently weren't on the internet in the last hour.

Coincidentally, I walked out of the barrier an hour ago.

News does seem to travel fast, huh?

Sighing, I decided to introduce myself, "Yo, my name is Fuse. One of the great patriots of the United States of America. I decided to find you all because I would like to offer you a great deal… Well, honestly, it's a pretty crappy deal for you, but I think you'll be intrigued nonetheless."

Narrowing her eyes, Weiss confusedly asked, "Why would you admit that it's a bad deal for us?"

Donning the same expression, Blake followed up, "And why us specifically?"

Shrugging, I said, "Well, I think you'll accept the offer anyways, and as for why you, you should've been told about your circumstances, right?"

Team RWBY stared at me as though they had no idea what I was talking about.

Well, shit, I guess they didn't tell them that they were the main characters.

"Okay, I guess not," Scratching the back of my head, I decided to just skip it, "Eh, consider it an inside joke, then. But my deal is simple. You help me handle those 90 Gamers by acting as a distraction and human shields, and I help in killing those 90 Gamers at some other time."

"That is a pretty bad deal," Ruby stated the obvious, not accepting it, "Why would we want to be a distraction?"

Raising a finger, I make my point, "One, I can revive people so if they kill you, it's fine. Second of all… You guys want a vacation in another world?"

"You can travel to different worlds?" Yang didn't sound as though she believed me, even if she wanted to be true.

Nodding, I told her, "If you want, I can give you guys a quick look. I can also prove my point about the revival."

The team seemed to be coming around to my idea of being my human meat shields. But Blake still had one more reservation, "Look, we're not going to abandon our home to the Grimm either-"

"I can also erase the concept of Grimm, if you want."

"...Erase the concept of Grimm?"

"Make it so that there's never been such a thing as Grimm, yeah."

Blake looked at Ruby, "Hey, I think this is a great deal. We should accept it, right?"

Knowing it was a pretty risky deal with immense rewards, Ruby looked as though she wanted to accept. Apprehensively, she asked, "So, uh, can we maybe get proof you can do all of that…?"

Not having anything to lose, I asked, "In what order? Revival? Other worlds? Concept Erasure?"

"Uh, in that order-"

I shot the random bystander that noticed the commotion in this area and came to check it out. It was another nameless student, so it probably should be fine.

"WHAT THE-"

I revived him, the holy light enveloping his wounds and forcing life into his lungs.

Wordlessly, he understood his place and walked away.

"That's insane-"

I opened a portal to Teyvat, jabbing my thumb at it, "You guys can peek for a bit and then you have to jump back into the portal."

Looking at each other warily, Ruby decided to be the leader and jumped in, with the rest following soon after.

A minute later, they came back awestruck.

"Wow, I mean, I kind of doubted it but the moon was whole…" Weiss muttered out to me, accepting my superiority.

I'll be honest, I have no idea where I sent them. It might've just been a random hill in Sumeru, but it seems to have worked out so it was fine.

Then, I pulled out Detroit.

"So, what should I erase?" I asked, knowing full well that they'll not understand it the first time around.

"Uh, the concept of beds?" Yang suggested before getting punched by Weiss.

"Absolutely not! We can't have-"

"The concept of sleeping removed!" Weiss finished before looking at me, "Fuse! Erase the concept of the lightbulb instead!"

"I already erased the concept of a bed," I said, looking at the spots on the ground that they slept on. Apparently, now, everyone sleeps on the floor with a blanket over them. They have no idea what a mattress is. Or a bedframe. But somehow, the blanket made it out of the concept of a "bed."

"...What's a bed?" Ruby asked before realizing it, "Wait, did you already erase something?!"

"Yeah, here, let me put it back," I said before swiping Detroit again.

Suddenly, they all realized what happened.

"Wow," Was the response they were able to give.

Putting away Detroit, I asked once more, "So, are you willing to become my distractions so I don't have to fight the other Gamers at an inopportune time?"

They all looked at each other for a brief moment before coming to an agreement.

"Sure, we can help!" Ruby declared, establishing the next mission of team RWBY.

Great. Hopefully, I can find Azure Dragon pretty quickly before the novelty of being able to talk to these girls wears off on them.

AN:

The short chapters shall persist another chapter before March descends and I spend 1 month trying to finish out this fic.

It took me like an hour and 30 minutes to write 1.5k words for this chapter, so it's gonna be tough. But I gotta tough it out for the sake of my other fics.
