Harry Potter: The Missing Keys
Chapter 12 of my Harry Potter story, enjoy.
Reviews:
Boris Yeltsin: Very easily as witches and wizards are naturally long lived, Dumbledore was 115-116 when he was killed, and Headmaster Dippet was 354-355 when he died.
Now onto the story.
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or its characters.
Chapter 12
Amara smiled warmly as she headed down for the day, it was time for them to get back to work as the new term was due to start. But as she entered the common room she noticed there seemed to be some sort of trouble.
"What theā¦" She muttered.
She sighed and began to try and push her way through the crowd.
"Excuse me, please, I...oh, come on." She grumbled. "What is going on?"
She found herself at the front at last thanks to the Prefects. She stopped dead, almost wanting to groan. Marli was there, Cameron right behind her and they were both glaring at Pixie.
"Where is it?!"
Pixie was all smug. "What do you care, honestly, stop being so stupid."
Marli growled. "Just give it back, Pixie, I don't have time for your stupid nonsense!"
"Hey, you don't call me stupid, you worthless trash, you-"
"Enough, Miss Egebe, this is not-"
Marli startled everyone by rounding on the Prefect who intervened.
"Oh, you're siding with her, when she stole from me!" Marli snapped.
The Prefect shook her head. "Please, shouting like this isn't going to help anything but-"
Cameron cut her off. "But nothing, Pixie's a thief and is not giving back what she stole, she needs to be dealt with, isn't that your duty?"
"Now see here Mr. Lee-!" The Prefect snapped.
Amara growled. "Have you forgotten what we spoke about, on the first night here?!"
All eyes turned to her, Pixie glared.
The Prefect turned and shook her head.
"Miss Jackson, don't start, this is not about nightmares of difficulties it's about-"
"It's about theft and you not even taking it seriously!" Amara warned.
The Prefect looked to the others and they all nodded. "Alright, this is enough, you drop this, or we give all three of you detention."
"Understood." Amara said. "I'm sorry you're all gonna lose your badges."
"Excuse me!?" The Prefects all cried out.
Amara shrugged. "Well I doubt Professor McGonagall or Professor Dumbledore will be happy to hear about Gryffindor Prefects bullying students rather than doing their jobs."
"Oh give it a rest, Jackson." Pixie cut in. "It's not like it's that big a deal, some little worthless trinkets, so what?"
"She doesn't even deny it and you do nothing?" Cameron challenged.
Finally the Prefects growled. "Alright, enough of this. I don't see why you even want us to-?"
"Because we want justice for being victimised like this, we have items stolen and get treated like this?" Marli snapped back.
There was a stony silence, Amara did note with some gratification that unlike the previous time an incident like this occurred, she wasn't alone. The other students were all whispering and glaring at the Prefects, who began to panic, realizing they were facing potential mutiny.
"Y-you, now look, we-"
Pixie was still smirking, at least until another voice cut in.
"What is going on here?"
They all turned to see a confused and potentially furious Professor McGonagall standing there.
XXXXX
Pixie was smirking even as she followed Professor McGonagall, she had no idea why there was such a ridiculous fuss over some stupid little trinkets. She was startled to see the Gryffindor Prefects walking the opposite way, shame-faced and missing their badges, it was clear they were in fact stripped of them and clearly there would be new Gryffindor Prefects.
'What the, how ridiculous is this, they're destabilizing the whole of Gryffindor over some petty little foreigners whining and that irritating little idiot Jackson?' She thought angrily.
She shook her head and continued onwards, wondering what was going on here.
"Professor, I don't understand why I'm even here." She complained.
Professor McGonagall sniffed. "You are here to answer to Professor Dumbledore for your actions, Miss Masters, that is all."
Pixie huffed. "It's not like it's that important-"
"Theft is theft, Miss Masters, and that is never anything trivial." Professor McGonagall snapped.
With that she led the way until they entered Professor Dumbledore's office. He was sitting at his desk and was watching her with a rather disappointed expression.
"Miss Masters, this is a most troubling development." He said. "I am afraid we cannot overlook this."
"Professor, it's not even-"
"It is very serious, Miss Masters. Not only have you stolen from your housemates, but you also took items belonging to Miss Luna and Mr. Iwashiro too." He remarked. "This is a very serious matter and you need to return the items at once."
Pixie glowered, shocked at how people were overreacted to all this, she had no intentions of letting this happen, as far as she cared, she'd done nothing wrong.
"I don't know what you're talking about sir."
She smirked, knowing there was nothing they could do about it.
Professor Dumbledore sighed heavily. "I'm sorry to hear that Miss Masters...You will therefore have to serve detention each night."
Pixie froze, that wasn't supposed to happen.
"But sir-" She protested. "How long?"
Professor Dumbledore fixed her with a piercing look. "For as long as it takes for you to return the items, that is how dangerous this is."
He was glaring but Pixie still couldn't believe it, it was crazy how everyone was overreacting to all this.
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
