In the seemingly utopian land of Votum, hierarchy reigns supreme. At the top reside the Electi - the wealthy, powerful elite who wield control through wealth and non-magical status. Below them are the Ordinatus, the respectable middle class, and the impoverished Crepido who struggle at the bottom rungs. There exists another class, one forced to the outskirts and shunned, The Exuls.

Apollo's prophecies let him see many things, including how Halloween will be celebrated in the future. When he shares this with the other gods, Zeus proposes a challenge. The last god to sit through all the horror stories without crying, screaming, or showing any other signs of fear wins. It is game on for this competitive bunch.

A collection of myths I always found fascinating told from the point of view of the women who were forced into difficult situations and relationships. Each chapter is a stand alone story that will weave and overlap with the others to form one over all narrative. Starting with Eros and Psyche, my retellings are mature and will get progressively darker and more twisted.

The god of war is hated by the mortals. He is hated by the immortals too. It is all he has known for as long as he can remember, but that has stopped hurting. This did not matter to him anymore. Ares knew who he was. He was someone who believed in fighting–even if he had to fight for those who feared him.

Persephone makes her way back to her husband, Hades, after six months of being away from him. Of course, her mother, Demeter, insists on coming with her.

Being a child of Zeus means many things. For Athena, it means being his star pupil–his legacy, but it also means immeasurable pressure. For Ares, it means less expectations–none even, but it also means crushing contempt. When these young siblings meet, they can see that they share a similar issue.

Eros thought he was teaching Apollo a lesson when he fired that arrow, he had no idea he was circumventing fate as well.

Family. It means something different for everyone, but for the Greek gods and goddesses, it means a giant headache and not just the kind that leads to childbirth. Regardless, the king of gods enjoys amusement, eagerly taking the first chance to bring his family together for a very special evening. A game night.
