Percy had a thought. Something that shocked many people. His thought was:

English is a ridiculous language. And he's not wrong. However, he earned the ire of (another)goddess by being too vocal about them(At this point, who is surprised?) He was walking with Annabeth in Central Park, and somehow the subject of grammar came up, and how Annabeth is so good at school but can't enter spelling bees because of her dyslexia. She continues talking about English and spelling bees and Percy complains, "What other language is so ridiculous that it has televised spelling contests? I mean, seriously you guys. Get a grip." Just then a goddess materialized before them. She had golden brown hair pulled back into an intricate bun, with a golden laurel perched on top of it. She wore traditional white greek robes, and carried a stone tablet in one hand. "I am Calliope, one of the Nine Muses, goddess of eloquence and epic poetry! Who dares insult language! Bow before me mortal!" she declared. Percy looked at her for a minute then sighed and said "Go figure. I couldn't go a week without getting the attention of some god or goddess or monster." Annabeth then stepped in and managed to appease the goddess, which is why Percy wasn't stuck speaking in epic poetry for the rest of his life. We love Annabeth.
