CHAPTER 36: THE FRONT PAGE REVELATION

Harry's heart skipped a beat as he stared at his own face on the front page of the Daily Prophet. His mind raced with questions and possibilities. Why was his face on the front page? What had he done to attract such attention? Was it related to his time-traveling adventures?

His thoughts were interrupted by Jangles, who was waiting patiently with a tray of breakfast in his talons. Harry took the tray absentmindedly, still lost in his thoughts. He glanced at the headline of the newspaper, trying to make sense of the situation.

As he read the article, Harry's confusion turned to shock. The headline read: "Boy Who Lived Returns: Harry Potter Emerges from Seclusion to Fight New Threat." The article detailed Harry's disappearance after the defeat of Voldemort, his sudden reappearance, and rumors of a new dark force rising.

Harry's mind raced as he tried to piece together what was happening. He had never left his seclusion; he had been traveling through time, trying to fix the mistakes of the past. How had he become the center of attention in this timeline?

Suddenly, a realization hit him like a bolt of lightning. His actions in the past must have caused ripple effects, altering the course of history in unexpected ways. Perhaps in this timeline, he had never disappeared after the defeat of Voldemort. Instead, he had remained in the public eye, becoming a symbol of hope and resistance against dark forces.

Feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension, Harry knew that he needed to tread carefully. His actions in this timeline could have far-reaching consequences, both for himself and for the world around him. But one thing was certain: he couldn't hide from his destiny any longer. It was time to face whatever challenges this new timeline held, and to do whatever it took to protect the wizarding world once again.

Fenrir Greyback killed by upstanding Citizen!

Harry looked up from the newspaper, his thoughts still swirling with the implications of the article. Bellatrix's presence in the kitchen caught him off guard, but he managed to regain his composure quickly.

"Good morning, Bellatrix," Harry replied, offering her a small nod of acknowledgment. Despite the circumstances of their past encounters, Harry had come to realize that Bellatrix was a complex individual, capable of both great cruelty and surprising loyalty. He knew that he needed to be cautious around her, but he also couldn't deny the usefulness of having her on his side.

Bellatrix moved gracefully around the kitchen, preparing her own breakfast with practiced ease. There was a tense silence between them as Harry continued to read the newspaper, and Bellatrix focused on her task.

After a few moments, Bellatrix spoke again, her tone casual but with an underlying edge. "Quite the story in the paper today, isn't it?" she remarked, nodding towards the Daily Prophet in Harry's hands.

Harry glanced up at her, noting the subtle gleam in her eyes. He knew that she was probing for information, trying to gauge his reaction to the article. But Harry was careful not to reveal too much. "Yes, it's certainly... interesting," he replied cryptically, folding the newspaper and setting it aside.

Bellatrix studied him for a moment, her gaze intense and calculating. Then, seemingly satisfied with his response, she returned her attention to her breakfast. The tension in the kitchen eased slightly, but Harry couldn't shake the feeling that Bellatrix was always watching, always waiting for the opportune moment to strike.

As they ate in silence, Harry couldn't help but wonder what other surprises this new timeline held in store for him. But one thing was certain: he would need to stay vigilant and trust no one completely, not even those who claimed to be on his side. In this ever-changing world of magic and danger, Harry knew that his survival depended on his ability to navigate the shadows and stay one step ahead of his enemies.

Harry nodded in agreement, acknowledging Bellatrix's plans for the day. The idea of meeting her at the sandwich place at noon sounded like a welcome break from his own tasks.

"Sounds like a plan," Harry replied, offering her a small smile. Despite the complexities of their relationship and the dangers that surrounded them, he found solace in the familiarity of their routine interactions.

As they finished their breakfast and prepared to go their separate ways for the day, Harry couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for having Bellatrix by his side. In a world filled with uncertainty and peril, having someone he could trust, even if only to a certain extent, was a rare and precious gift.

With a nod of farewell, Harry watched as Bellatrix left the kitchen, her graceful demeanor belying the fierce determination that lurked beneath the surface. As he turned his attention back to his own plans for the day, Harry couldn't shake the feeling that their paths were intricately intertwined, bound together by fate and circumstance.

But for now, he pushed aside his musings and focused on the tasks that lay ahead. There were errands to run, mysteries to unravel, and a world to protect. And as Harry set out into the bustling streets of the wizarding world, he knew that no matter what challenges awaited him, he would face them head-on, with courage, determination, and the unwavering belief that, together, they could overcome anything.

Harry chuckled at Bellatrix's response, pleased that she seemed supportive of his career aspirations. He knew that her loyalty was hard-won and not easily given, so her approval meant a great deal to him.

"Of course, you'll be the first one I call whenever I need to travel for work," Harry promised, flashing her a grin. The thought of exploring distant lands and studying magical creatures alongside Bellatrix filled him with excitement and anticipation.

Their conversation drifted to lighter topics as they finished their meal and made their way out of the sandwich shop. The sun was shining brightly overhead, casting a warm glow over the bustling streets of Diagon Alley.

As they walked, Harry couldn't shake the feeling of contentment that settled over him. Despite the challenges and uncertainties that lay ahead, he knew that with Bellatrix by his side, anything was possible. Together, they would carve out their own path in the world of magic, facing whatever obstacles came their way with courage and determination.

And as they disappeared into the bustling crowds of Diagon Alley, Harry felt a sense of optimism wash over him, filling him with hope for the future. Whatever adventures awaited them, he knew that they would face them together, bound by friendship, loyalty, and a shared sense of purpose. And with that thought in mind, Harry set off into the unknown, ready to embrace whatever the future held.

Harry exchanged a knowing glance with Bellatrix as Narcissa mentioned Sirius. They both understood the complicated dynamics of the Black family all too well, and Sirius's strained relationship with Narcissa was just one example of the many tensions that existed within their circle.

"I'm sure he has his reasons," Harry replied diplomatically, not wanting to delve too deeply into the intricacies of their family dynamics. He knew that the subject of Sirius could be a sensitive one for Narcissa, especially given their history.

Narcissa nodded in acknowledgment, accepting Harry's response with a small smile. As she sipped her tea, her attention turned to Draco, who was busy playing with his toys on the floor.

"Draco, darling, would you like some breakfast?" Narcissa asked, her voice filled with warmth and affection.

Draco looked up from his toys, his eyes brightening at the mention of food. "Yes, please, Mum," he replied eagerly, his face breaking into a wide grin.

Narcissa smiled indulgently at her son before turning to Harry. "Would you mind terribly if I borrowed Jangles to fetch Draco's breakfast?" she asked politely.

"Not at all, go ahead," Harry replied with a nod, gesturing for Jangles to assist Narcissa.

As Jangles disappeared to fetch Draco's breakfast, the three of them settled into a comfortable silence, enjoying each other's company as they savored their morning tea. Despite the complexities of their relationships and the challenges they faced, Harry couldn't help but feel grateful for moments like these, when they could set aside their differences and simply enjoy each other's presence.

And as the morning sunlight streamed through the windows, casting a warm glow over the room, Harry couldn't shake the feeling of contentment that settled over him. In this moment, surrounded by friends and loved ones, he knew that no matter what the future held, they would face it together, united by bonds of friendship and loyalty that were stronger than any magic.

Harry chuckled at Bellatrix's comment, grateful for her understanding. He had no desire to get caught up in the brewing storm between Narcissa and Sirius, especially if it meant being dragged into their familial drama.

As Narcissa's expression turned steely with determination, Harry couldn't help but feel a twinge of sympathy for Sirius. He knew firsthand how relentless the Black sisters could be when they set their minds to something, and he had a feeling that Sirius was in for a rough ride.

"Well, whatever happens, I'm sure Sirius will survive," Harry said with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood. "He's a tough old dog, after all."

Bellatrix chuckled at the pun, while Narcissa's lips twitched in amusement despite herself. "Yes, I suppose you're right," she conceded, her tone softening slightly.

As the conversation shifted to lighter topics, Harry felt a sense of relief wash over him. Despite the tension and underlying animosity between certain members of their group, there was still a sense of camaraderie and affection that bound them together.

And as they sat together, laughing and joking in the warm glow of the morning sun, Harry couldn't help but feel grateful for the bonds of friendship and loyalty that had formed between them. In a world filled with darkness and uncertainty, it was moments like these that reminded him of the importance of love, laughter, and the unbreakable ties that connected them all.

Harry stepped into the green flames of the Floo Network, feeling the familiar sensation of being whisked away to his destination. As he emerged from the fireplace in the Atrium of the Ministry of Magic, he straightened his robes and glanced around, taking in the bustling atmosphere.

The Atrium was as busy as ever, with witches and wizards hurrying to and fro, going about their daily business. Harry navigated through the crowd with ease, his gaze fixed on the towering golden statue of the witch and wizard, which dominated the center of the room.

Making his way to the lifts, Harry pressed the button to summon one, waiting patiently as it descended from the upper floors. When the lift doors opened, he stepped inside, joining a handful of other witches and wizards who were also making their way to various departments within the Ministry.

As the lift ascended, Harry couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation building within him. He had come to the Ministry with a purpose, and he was determined to see it through. With each passing floor, he mentally prepared himself for the task that lay ahead, steeling his resolve and readying himself for whatever challenges awaited him.

And as the lift came to a stop and the doors slid open, Harry stepped out into the corridor, his mind focused and his determination unwavering. Whatever the day held in store for him, he was ready to face it head-on, confident in his abilities and determined to make a difference in the world of magic.

Harry stepped out of the lift and made his way down the corridor, navigating the familiar maze of the Ministry. He had several errands to run, but the first stop was the Department of Magical Education. He needed to arrange for his N.E.W.T. examinations, and he hoped to get the necessary study materials as well.

Reaching the department, Harry pushed open the door and approached the reception desk. The receptionist, a middle-aged witch with kind eyes and a warm smile, looked up as he entered.

"Good morning. How can I help you today?" she asked.

"Good morning. I need to register for my N.E.W.T. exams and get a list of the required study materials," Harry replied.

"Of course. Just a moment." The receptionist busied herself with a stack of parchments and quills, eventually producing a form for Harry to fill out. "Please fill this out, and I'll get you the list of materials you'll need."

Harry took the form and quickly filled it out, handing it back to the receptionist. She skimmed it briefly before nodding and pulling out another parchment from a drawer.

"Here is the list of textbooks and other materials you'll need. You can find most of these at Flourish and Blotts in Diagon Alley. And your examination dates will be sent to you by owl once they are scheduled," she explained, handing him the parchment.

"Thank you very much," Harry said, taking the list and tucking it into his robe.

With that task completed, Harry made his way back to the Atrium. His next stop was to set up an appointment for his Apparition test. He navigated through the bustling crowd and headed toward the Department of Magical Transportation. As he approached the counter, a wizard with a bushy mustache and a harried expression looked up from his paperwork.

"Can I help you?" the wizard asked, glancing over his spectacles.

"I'd like to set up an appointment for an Apparition test," Harry said.

The wizard nodded and flipped through a thick ledger, scanning the available dates. "We have an opening next Tuesday at 10 AM. Does that work for you?"

"That works perfectly," Harry replied.

"Very well. Just sign here, and you'll receive a confirmation owl with the details," the wizard instructed, handing Harry the ledger and a quill.

After signing his name, Harry thanked the wizard and left the department, feeling accomplished for having ticked off two important tasks from his list. With some time to spare before meeting Bellatrix for lunch, he decided to head to Flourish and Blotts to pick up the books he needed.
