Our Beginnings I – Hopeful Start

Whenever I recall my first day in Hope's Peak, my first thoughts end up always being-

What could I have done differently?

A lot of what happened on that day would become bigger, more dangerous problems in the future.

And I was in the center of pretty much everyone of them.

I have been told that it wasn't my fault and that I couldn't predict the butterfly effect that my actions would cause.

Still, a part of me asks.

What would have changed if I wasn't there at that exact moment?

That's quite a lot to think about and I won't bore you with my own theories, so let's just get back to that time, shall we?

After Byakuya, Kyoko and Touko left the kitchen, the rest of breakfast went by quickly and without any more problems.

The students talked mostly about how their weeks went and how they are adapting to Hope's Peak.

Most don't seem to have any trouble in getting used to the academy, which Makoto thought was pretty impressive. The ultimate school was a new experience to the boy and even after a whole week, he still wasn't that used to it.

The happy chatter went on as the plates around the table slowly started to empty.

"Man! That was some good grub!" Mondo says while stretching in his chair. "Give my compliments to the chefs!" He gives Makoto, who was sitting across from him, a thumbs.

The moral compass coughs falsely after wiping his mouth with a napkin. "Even I have go agree with Oowada-kun on this." He speaks in a uncommonly low tone, before getting up from his chair pointing his finger forward and shouting. "IT WAS DELICIOUS!" Kiyotaka then bows respectfully. "THANK YOU FOR THE FOOD!"

"Dude! You don't need to yell!" Leon comments, making the other boy lift his head. "Anyways, we should get going. Classes start in like half an hour."

"B-But what about the p-plates?" The Ultimate Programmer asks shyly from her seat.

"Oh yeah." Says Aoi looking down at the table. "We kinda need to clean everything up."

"I'll clean it." Makoto replies making everyone look at him. "Half an hour is plenty enough time for me to clean everything and still get to class."

"Are you sure?" Kotoko looks at him.

The brunette nods. "Yeah, back home it was mostly me that cleaned after dinner." That was because Komaru always used her puppy dog eyes to make him clean even when it was her turn, but his classmates didn't need to know that part. "So you guys don't need to worry, I'll clean everyone."

"If you say so." Celes gets up from her seat and politely does a little bow. "The food was delicious, hopefully we can do this more times." With that said, she walks out of the kitchen.

Makoto starts cleaning the dishes while everybody else gets out of the kitchen, we'll, almost everybody.

"Let me help you!"

He turns around to see Sayaka smiling softly. "Oh, Maizono-san!" Makoto smiles back, before looking down at the dishes again. "You don't need to trouble yourself I can-" The brunette teen is interrupted as the idol walks up to his side, pulls her school uniforms sleeves up and grabs the sponge he was holding.

"With two people, we can finish it quicker!" The bluenette smiles and Makoto sighs, he could already tell he wasn't going to convince her otherwise.

There's a comfortable silence as the two teens wash the dishes.

"How are you feeling about the school?" Sayaka asks, breaking the silence.

The brunette stops washing for a second and thinks to himself. "Huh? I don't know." He goes back to cleaning. "Overwhelmed I guess."

"So you too huh?" She giggles. "It's been a while since I've been to school. Ever since I became a idol, I've only had private schooling." Sayaka explains, making Makoto look at her with a surprised expression. "Can you imagine the commotion that would happen if a idol showed up one day at your school? It would probably be very hard to teach with someone like me in a class." The brunette thinks about for a second, then nods in agreement.

"That would probably be very chaotic." Having a celebrity on your class would be quite interesting though. "So you've been studying with tutors?" He asks and she nods.

"Yeah and because of that, I'm actually kinda excited to be on a classroom full of people again." Sayaka giddily replies. "I bet it's gonna be really fun!"

Her happiness was quite contagious and the brunette boy couldn't hold back a smile.

Sayaka just had this charisma to her, the way she speaks, moves and just exists is enough to convince anyone to agree with her.

Although Makoto didn't need that much persuading anyways, part of him wanted to see just how crazy things in Hope's Peak could really be.

He just hoped that his luck wouldn't start to go crazy.

Standing in front of Hope's Peak Academy is a tall girl with green eyes, brunette hair that goes just above her shoulders tied into a ponytail and her two most distinguishable features, a large bust and a pointy tuff of hair on top of her head.

She is wearing a short darkish-green skirt, a white shirt with a green bow and a black blazer with the Hope's Peak logo.

Her large chest going up and down as she takes a deep breath. 'Here I am again.' She gulps. 'Hope's Peak Academy.' The girl stares at the school, in her face a mixture of worry, anxiousness and a little bit of hope.

She's here again.

Even though she swore she would quit.

This place wasn't for her. There was still time maybe if she turned back now-

"Out of the way, tall ass."

The taller girl is shoved to the side, not with enough force to fall on the ground, just enough to get out the way.

Behind her was a blond girl with grayish eyes and what seemed like permanent blush marks on her cheeks. She wore a uniform similar to the taller girl, but the front of the blazer was completely open.

"The school ain't gonna give you a talent if you stare at it hard enough, cunt." Says the blond with a frown, before walking away into the large structure in front of them.

Other people wearing similar uniforms to those two, just stare as the smaller girl makes her way into the school and disappears in the fog.

One of the people staring at them is a girl, slightly taller than the blond. She has long dark-green hair, a pale complexion and dark purple eyes.

The greenette adjusts the books she's was holding in her hands and walks past the brunette, not even bothering to look at her. She's followed by a group of four other girls consisting of a black-haired girl with pigtails, a shorter redhead girl that looked like a bit of a airhead, a brunette girl with a large pink bow that looked very innocent and lastly a girl with blue hair going just past her shoulders, a porcelain white skin tone and a very elegant feel to her.

All four girls walk past the taller one and into the academy.

The taller brunette looks vacantly towards the building, before taking another deep breath and starting to walk towards it. At each step her red and white sneakers did, her heart beat increased.

She shouldn't be here, this wasn't her place, no matter what anyone said there's just no way that she-

"Oh, Hajime-chan!"

'…curse my own feet.'

She unconsciously walked into the courtyard, her body did it automatically without she even noticing.

"Chiaki…" Hajime mutters to herself, awkwardly looking at the shorter girl. "I-I-" She opens her mouth, but before she can say anything, the mauve-haired girl launches herself towards the brunette and hugs her. "C-Chiaki!?"

Holding the taller girl tightly, the Ultimate Gamer says without looking at the other girl's face. "I-I'm sorry." She tightly grasps on Hajime's blazer. "I-"

Feeling incredibly guilty, the taller girl just wraps her arms around Chiaki. "I-It's okay." She pauses for a second, then bites her lips. "I-I forgive you." Hajime's tone is insure as if she's not convinced herself.

The two girls just stand there, holding each other in the fog covered courtyard.

Hajime gulps down.

I am the one that should be apologizing.

Our Beginnings I – Hopeful Start

Welcome back to this little story of mine.

Not gonna lie, I missed writing, especially because life kept doing absolutely everything to stop me from doing it.

I was gonna post some one-shots and also update some of my other stories, but then my eyes got fucked and I couldn't look at a screen to write. Once that got better, I got sick and couldn't write for a week, then my phone, which is what I use to write, got fucked up to.

So yeah, I kinda couldn't really do anything during the end of the year there. Still, now I'm back and hopefully I can update this story more frequently this year.

Hope y'all liked the chapter and see you around!
