Hey hey hey! It's time to duel! That's right, the first duel of Rise of the Dimensions! Central is about to learn about a new form of dueling!
The mayor of Maimi City looked rather demure. He had been thoroughly chewed out not just by the head of his biggest backers, Leo Corp, but by several of his own Cabinet. The fact that he nearly shot at kids had made the voters disgusted with him too.
It all was made worse when Declan had gone on TV to explain the situation. How the strange island in the middle of their city had appeared. He told everyone that he had been conducting an experiment with duel energy. Around the same time, Seto Kaiba of Kaiba Corporation was doing the same thing.
Both experiments collided with one another, something both sides did not think was even remotely possible. However, it had happened resulting the island school being teleported to their world. Right now, Leo Corp was working with Kaiba Corporation to help fix the issue.
But none of that mattered to Furio. He needed a way to recover his polls. Watching the duel between the Hammer and Yuyu Sakaki, he blinked.
"That's it!" He cried out in delight.
Everyone loved a duel. And a match between this new school and Leo Corp was just what was needed. He quickly dialed the number not for Declan, but Henrietta.
"Yes? Mayor Furio, if this is an attempt to-" She began only for Furio to cut her off.
"I know I messed up, more then messed up. Not gonna lie, I fucked up bad. But I have a way to both apologize for my actions and smooth things over. A duel. I was thinking of a match between the Leo Institute of Dueling and this Central Duel Academy."
Henrietta paused in her reprimand of the man. She hummed in thought. Central claimed to be a dueling school much like their own and You Show Duel School. But they had never seen the students there duel.
She didn't get to where she was today by being stupid. They needed more information. A duel between her top and the top of Central seemed perfect.
"Furio, I do believe you have a grand idea. I will pass it to Declan. However, PLEASE lay low." She stressed, the man nodding solemnly.
The mayor was more then happy to do that.

Declan looked at his mother, hands laced in front of his face. His eyes were stone cold. The proposal Furio had made was...interesting to say the least. He hummed, sitting back in his chair.
"...it is a good idea. We do need more information on their dueling skills. Especially the one with golden eyes. " Declan stated, nodding. "I will contact Kaiba first. He will be suspicious of us, but I think this will play into his hands too."
"Information on us. But it will be false won't it?" Henrietta asked.
"Yes. I will use one of the more...pay to win duelists we have. I was planning on using him to steal from Yuya, but this takes precedence." Declan said.
Henrietta nodded, already knowing who it was. Furio would be pleased.

In a dark room, a young man sat at a bar. In his hand was a dart. He was casually tossing it up and down, smirking.
His short light brown and blonde hair, styled in layers, shone in the dim lighting. Grayish blue eyes sparkled with mischief. He wore a white dress shirt with a red necktie and gold and red lined white jacket. His legs were covered by red pants.
A phone rang and he answered it.
"Hello, Sylvio at your service." The boy asked.
"Sylvio. Its Declan. I'm sure you heard about Central."
Sylvio had. It was rather exciting. But he had a feeling that wasn't why he was being contacted. Declan agreed. He was calling to inform Sylvio he was dueling a representative from Central. He wanted information on the school of duels.
Sylvio agreed. He requested the usual fare with a stipulation to add anything before the duel started. The man quickly agreed. The boy threw the dart, hitting a bulls-eye.
"Central's rep won't know what hit him." Sylvio chortled out.

Kaiba listened to the call from Akaba. His face was stony, but he had to admit the idea had some merit. A duel would calm down the teens, especially if it was Jaden dueling.
He hated to do that, take the spotlight from the rest of his students. But in this case, it was needed. As stated, the teens were scared witless thanks to the dimensional shift. He knew the real reason too. Declan was obsessed with getting information on them. But they could use that to their advantage. The Leo CEO hung up and Kaiba got right to work.
"So that's the whole deal Jaden." Kaiba said, looking at the pro student.
"Have I ever told you that I HATE being the bait?" Jaden groused out. "I take it the duel is not happening here, but at their school?"
Kaiba shook his head. It was going to be held at their main duel arena. He had several data entries for the type of dueling Jaden was about to undertake. Scrolling through them, Jaden frowned.
Action Duels.
Unlike the static duels he was used to, you could move around, picking up cards called Action Cards. However, the rules stated that both players could only have one action Spell in their hand.
"Guess they had issues with players grabbing too many Action Spells..." Jaden muttered to himself.
Kaiba agreed with him. Other then the inclusion of the Action Spells, it was a fairly standard duel. The key difference was that they had four thousand instead of the eight thousand.
"I managed to convince Akaba to try the eight thousand life points out. Make it last a bit longer." Kaiba said. "They're including it in the new rules now."
But Jaden wasn't paying attention. He was blinking. He looked at Kaiba and then at what he was seeing. Confused, he handed it over to the CEO. Kaiba glanced at it before his jaw dropped.
"WHAT. They don't have a Ban or limit list?!" Kaiba gaped.
"I know...I could easily make a Forbidden One deck...but no. No. My honor demands that I don't use such cheap tactics. Er, CHEAPER tactics. I'll re-adjust one of my decks using OUR list." Jaden stated.
Kaiba chuckled. Boy, this was going to come back and bite the Akaba's in the ass.

Word spread quickly about the duel. No thanks to the Leo institute and Mayor blowing it up. People from the city all rushed to the main arena. The students of Central were given their own place. Many of the GX Crew and Central Top were conversing in the passageway to the arena. They saw several of the Leo Institute members walking by, chatting.
Chazz crossed his arms, frowning as he heard several boys talking trash about Jaden. But he resisted saying anything. Bastion was of the same mind.
"These fools are so cavalier in thinking one of their own is able to handle Jaden." Bastion commented.
"Ignore them, brainic. Remember, they didn't see the shit we have seen over the past three years." Chazz stated.
Syrus nodded, arms at his side. They soon saw Jaden coming up, wearing an Obelisk Blue uniform. Chazz smirked, fist bumping. Jaden returned the smirk. Everyone looked behind him, smirking up a storm. Jaden turned around, only to feel someone's lips on his. He returned the kiss, seeing the shock of blonde hair. The two broke apart.
"Thanks for that, Lex."
"No problem. You just show this Leo student what you got."
Jaden nodded. It was at that moment he saw his opponent. Everyone turned to hear obnoxious laughter. A group of five boys was approaching.
The leader was wearing a white dress shirt with a red necktie and gold and red lined white jacket. Completing the outfit were red pants. His hair was a short light brown and blonde hair, styled in layers, and grayish blue eyes. Chazz grimaced.
"This guy reminds me of my old self..." Chazz whispered to Syrus.
The boy came up to them, but suddenly went quiet. Jaden knew right away why.
Sylvio stopped and stared. He had never seen such a vision of beauty! The long hair, the legs, the body and the face. The eyes were mesmerizing to the young man. He instantly knelt before the vision of beauty.
"My fair lady, doth not fret! Thine beauty shall not be darkened by this heathen pretending to be a man! Come away with me and know of the perfection that is Sylvio!"
Everyone blinked at what the boy had just said. Alexis' right eye twitched.
"If you are asking me to leave my BOYFRIEND to go with a short stack little shit like you, FORGET IT." Alexis snarled. "I wouldn't get with you even if the world was ending!"
The sound of glass shattering echoed in Sylvio's mind. He couldn't understand it! He was perfect! He was dueling perfection! HE WAS SYLVIO! Yet she was rejecting him! HIM!
One of his flunkies alerted him. The group was gone, along with the goddess. He shot to his feet, eyes burning.
"One way or another, I shall receive a kiss from the descendant of Aphrodite herself this day!" Sylvio screamed to the heavens. "And I know exactly how."

After the GX Crew and Central Top saw Jaden off, they headed up to the stands. Once they sat down, they were approached by four people.
"Hi there! Welcome to Maimi City. I'm Yuya Sakaki." The 'leader' of the group said, getting their attention.
He was young teenage boy with crimson eyes, and dual-colored green and crimson hair of average length. The hair was sticking out in downwards pointing spikes all around his head. The style reminded everyone of Jaden's hairstyle, save for one lone strand of hair. He wore charm pendant on a simple string around his neck. On his actual neck was a buckled choker, and a pair of golden goggles with orange lenses on his forehead, with a blue star obscuring the right lens.
The boy was wearing a simple orange t-shirt with a thick, silver-buckled brown belt over it, green pants with what appear to be "Deck pockets" on each leg, and magenta shoes, as well as crimson wristbands. On his shoulders was a gold and red lined white jacket, draped over his shoulders like a cape. It reminded the Central Top of what Yugi Muto once looked like during the Battle City Tournament.
"Greetings Yuya. I am Bastion Misawa." Bastion asked. "And these are my friends."
"Chazz Princeton." Chazz introduced himself.
"Syrus Truesdale."
"Maurice."
"Alexis Rhodes."
The rest of the GX crew introduced themselves. After they were done, Miles looked at Yuya.
"Who are these fine folk with you?" The short genius asked.
Yuya beamed in delight.
"These are my friends, Gong, Zuzu, and Sora!" Yuya introduced everyone.
Zuzu had blue eyes and dark pink mid back-length hair, which were tied up in pigtails, clipped down by blue, spherical hair clips. Her hair also had two lighter pink bangs that fall to the side of her face.
Her outfit consisted of a sleeveless light-blue and white shirt with a green musical note on the right collar, along with a pink tie. She wore a maroon skirt, dark stockings, and pink sneakers.
"Nice to meet you all." She said, waving and smiling.
Gong, despite being a teenager, had a huge frame, easily equivalent in height to some adults. While he had a fairly round face, he was stockily built and rather muscular. He had black hair styled into a large pompadour, restrained by a red band. His nose was somewhat redder than the rest of his face. There was also a constant blush on his cheeks.
He shook Maurice's hand, making the blue haired boy yelp in pain. He quickly let go.
"Oh jeez, Gong is so sorry! Gong forgets his own strength sometimes." The large teen said.
"It's okay man. Really!" Maurice whimpered out.
Sora was a short, young boy with light cyan hair, that is tied up and spiked out. Chazz commented on how they had found Syrus' better looking twin, making said boy kick him lightly in the shins.
After the laughter died down, they returned their attention to the boy. He wore a blue jacket. Something that Bastion noted bore some resemblance to Duel Academy's Obelisk Blue jacket. The jacket had a yellow and orange trim. A black t-shirt rested underneath the jacket. He also wore a pair of light gray cargo shorts over long white socks and brown shoes. He pulled out a pink lollipop, giving it a lick.
"Well, glad to see I wasn't the only one thinking of that twin thing." Sora commented lightly. "So whose the top duelist of your school?"
"That would be Jaden Yuki. And don't make fun of his last name. We're still finding pieces of the last guy all over the island." Syrus stated.
The four teens laughed at that. The laughter tapered off when they saw how serious the Central Top was.
"Wait...seriously?!" Zuzu asked, horror on her face.
"GOTCHA!" The Central top said together, breaking the tension.
The four breathed a sigh of relief at that. They sat down, the CT asking about their school. The four of them were from You Show Duel School which focused on Action Duels and Duel-tainment as it was called.
"Duel-tainment?" Everyone asked, confused.
"Its hard to describe...we'll show you some old vids of Yuya's dad."
"AND NOW! THE MOMENT YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR! INTRODUCING FROM THE LEO INSTITUTE! SYLVIO SAWATARI!" An announcer said, interrupting the conversation.
Everyone from Leo cheered as the boy walked out, waving his hands. He arrived at his point, standing there with a smug smirk on his face.
"AND FROM CENTRAL DUEL ACADEMY, JADEN YUKI!"
Jaden came out to near dead silence. Only Central cheered for him. Sylvio smirked, the ref coming between the two. The ref was a no nonsense man.
"Duelists! Are you both ready to duel?!" He asked, his voice booming.
"Ready." Jaden said coolly.
"Ready!" Sylvio beamed.
From the center came a small pillar. On it were two tablets. Confused, Jaden picked one up. He knew right away what it was. A duel disk. But one he never saw before. He placed it on his arm.
"I see you're a tad confused." The ref said. "You don't need to worry about shuffling your deck. Just slot it in and it auto shuffles for you."
"Don't see why you bother. He won't win against someone as perfect as me." Sylvio bragged.
Jaden just ignored the braggart. He picked a deck from a box with six stars on it. Seeing that, Kaiba smirked. Oh this kid was in for it now. Number six was one of the WORSE decks to face against, third only to number eight and the Hero deck. Slotting the deck in, the two walked back to the spots.
Here, Declan stood.
"ATTENTION DUELISTS. WHILE ONE OF YOU KNOWS HOW ACTION DUELS ARE DONE, THERE HAS BEEN SOME SLIGHT MODIFICATIONS."
That had everyone murmur. What modifications were done?
Life Points were no longer set to four thousand. They were now set to eight thousand. However, the player who went first could not draw from their deck unless it was from a card effect. Jaden frowned. That would mean going first would be a handicap. Sylvio scoffed.
"A perfect duelist like myself won't be hindered by these new rules." Sylvio bragged. "However, there is one thing I want to add in, Mr. Akaba."
"YES?" came Declan's voice.
"The winner of this duel gets a kiss from the Goddess of beauty that is part of the Central Duel Academy!" Sylvio cried, pointing at Alexis.
At that, a light came down on Alexis, making her gasp in shock. Declan nodded, allowing it. Kaiba shot to his feet, enraged. Declan ignored the man's ranting.
Jaden's eyes narrowed, but saw his chance.
"Ah, but wouldn't it be better for a poor excuse of a duelist such as myself to go first then? After all, you are a perfect duelist and I'll need every advantage I could get." Jaden asked, acting depressed.
Sylvio laughed, glad to see that the boy had already accepted his fate. But the boy did have a point. Going first would show the boy the most terrible hand he could ever get.
"Very well." Sylvio said, activating his disk.
Everyone from Central gasped at seeing the solid light blade appear. Jaden did the same, the two linking. Above, several cards appeared in digital pixels. The cards became a small orb. A card swung around and around, several small screens orbiting it.
It finally landed on a massive city. Sylvio smirked and made a grandiose pose.
"The duelists have gathered in this sacred combat hall! Where they can watch monsters kick up the earth and dance through the air! Riding around on the field! Behold, the evolution of Dueling!" Sylvio chanted.
"ACTION!" The crowds screamed.
"DUEL!" Everyone cried out, Jaden and Sylvio at the same time.
Sylvio: 8000/Jaden: 8000
Sylvio snapped his fingers and the orb of cards scattered. Jaden merely watched as the field took place around him. It was a massive city, dark and ominous. But that suited him just fine.
Drawing his opening hand, he looked it over. Two monsters, three spells. Then he accessed the touch screen, scrolling. After a few seconds, he smirked.
"I'll start by placing these two facedown. Then I play Card of Sanctity." Jaden announced.
"Card of what?"
(Card of Sanctity – Type/Spell/Normal/Effect.
Both players draw until they hold 6 cards.)
"Well, that is a powerful card indeed! You are helping me out after all." Sylvio said, drawing one card.
"Or maybe I'm helping myself." Jaden stated, drawing four. "I reveal another spell, Pot of Greed!"
(Pot of Greed – Type/Spell/Normal/Effect.
Draw 2 cards from your deck.)
What did that spell do? Jaden just drew two cards from his deck. Everyone gasped. That was it?! Jaden looked at his hand and smirked. He had what he needed now.
"Now I reveal my final facedown, Cost Down!"
(Cost Down – Type/Spell/Normal/Effect.
Discard 1 card; for the rest of this turn, reduce the Levels of all monsters in your hand by 2 (even after they are Summoned).)
Jaden threw out Guardian of the Throne Room. He then summoned out Jinzo in attack mode.
(Jinzo – LV* , Attribute/DARK, ATK/2400, DEF/1500, Type/Machine/Effect.
Trap Cards, and their effects on the field, cannot be activated. Negate all Trap effects on the field.)
The tall cyborg appeared, roaring. Syrus winced a little, seeing the card. DMG appeared and comforted the boy. But Jaden was far from done.
"I activate the spell card, Rapid Production!"
(Rapid Production – Type/Spell/Normal/Effect.
Banish 1 Machine-Type Monster from your GY. Special Summon 1 Machine-Type from your deck or hand. Negate its effects (if any) until the End Phase of the turn.)
Jaden banished Guardian of the Throne room and then summoned out Spell Canceler in attack mode from his deck.
(Spell Canceller – LV, Attribute/WIND, ATK/1800, DEF/1600, Type/Machine/Effect.
Spell Cards, and their effects on the field, cannot be activated. Negate all Spell effects on the field.)
A machine with a claw for a face and a green optic rose up. Jaden smirked. He revealed a card in his hand.
"From my hand I special summon Surge Protector in attack mode."
(Surge Protector – LV, Attribute/LIGHT, ATK/600, DEF/800, Type/Thunder/Effect.
You can Special Summon this monster (from your hand) if you control 2 or more Machine-Type monsters. Other monsters cannot be destroyed by card effects.)
A tiny green lightning man appeared, dressed in a jacket and shoes. Jaden revealed his final card. It was Polymerization.
"I fuse my Zombrya the dark with The Earth Hex sealed fusion. Hero of Darkness combine with the earth of an alien world and give rise to a new power. I fusion summon! The Last Warrior from Another Planet!"
(The Last Warrior from Another Planet – LV, Attribute/EARTH, ATK/2350, DEF/2300, Type/Warrior/Fusion/Effect.
"Zombyra the Dark" "Maryokutai"
If this card is Special Summoned: Destroy all other monsters you control. Neither player can Summon monsters.)
The warrior erupted out of the Earth, cybernetic parts attached to his left and right arms. Its eyes glowed, lasers shooting out. Surge split into two and jumped in front of the beam, covering both Jinzo and Spell. He blew up with a squeal. Jaden placed the card in his grave and ended his turn.
Up in the stands, all of Central was cheering at Jaden. Everyone looked at the group like they were nuts. Kaiba was laughing up a storm, making Akaba look at him.
"Might I ask just what is so funny, Mister Kaiba?" Declan asked.
"Your duelist. He's lost and he doesn't even know it." Kaiba said, laughing.
"Impossible! Sylvio will summon a monster and destroy one of those three!" Henrietta stated.
Kaiba shook his head. There was NOTHING this kid could do. Jaden had him trapped. Jinzo made it impossible for Sylvio to use trap cards. Spell made it impossible for the boy to use spell cards. The Last Warrior? Slyvio couldn't even normal summon a monster now thanks to that beast. He could only set a monster and given those card's stats, no monster would be able to handle it.
Declan looked at the trio of cards in shock. Jaden masterfully played the cards! No, not just the cards, but Sylvio too! He had fed the boy's ego, tricking him to let the golden eye teen go first!
Down below, Sylvio was trying and failing to use a spell card in his hand. His disk kept on beeping at him.
"What is going on?!"
"Its the effect of my Spell Canceller. It was negated last turn thanks to Rapid Production, but that was only until my end phase. Now that its back in play, you cannot use spells."
Sylvio sneered.
"Then I'll play these facedown-"
"If they are traps, don't bother. Jinzo makes it so you cannot activate them. The only option you got is to set a monster."
Sylvio grunted. He looked over his hand and paled. He had no means to do so! All of his monsters were too high of a level! All he could do...was end. He threw out his extra card, scowling hard. Jaden drew, but did not summon. Instead, he went on the offensive.
"Jinzo, attack first!"
An orb of energy formed in the cyborg's hands before launching. Sylvio cried out in rage as the orb hit.
Sylvio: 5600
Last Warrior was the next one to attack. Several missiles hit him.
Sylvio: 3250
Lastly, Spell Canceller fired off an energy bolt. The boy screamed in pain.
Sylvio: 1450
"I end." Jaden said coldly.
Sylvio wanted to run to a nearby action card. But then realized that it was hopeless. No matter what, those monsters were stopping him from doing ANYTHING. He could surrender. But that would be even more damaging to his reputation. Gritting his teeth, he ended his turn.
Jaden drew, adding the card to his hand. He had Jinzo launch its final attack. The cyber shock attack sent Sylvio flying.
Sylvio: 0
Everyone from the Leo Institute stared in shock. Sylvio had a win percentage of ninety-nine point ninety-nine percent, but he had just been bested by the newcomer. Jaden merely shook his head, watching the holograms fade.
"The Winner! Jaden Yuki of Central!" The ref declared.
Sylvio wanted to complain, but the crowd being this big? He growled, glaring at Jaden.
"Yuki! You have gained an eternal rival! I am Sylvio Sawatari!"
Jaden just gave him a side-long glare. He did not even acknowledge the boy, making said boy fume in rage. The young king walked away, heading back to the main entry point.
Alexis rushed down and threw herself at him in a hug. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she gave him a long kiss. Seeing this, Sylvio screamed to the heavens about it not being fair.
"Not bad, Jay." Alexis said, breaking the kiss.
"If this is what the Leo's have...I'm sorely disappointed." Jaden whispered to her.
Kaiba laughed, standing up.
"Well, that is one win for Central. That boy is lucky. Sylvio I mean. Jaden ENDS dueling careers for anyone trying to force his girlfriend into anything. Best remind the fool that, Declan." Kaiba said, standing up.
Declan watched the CEO leave, frowning hard. Maybe he should have gone with a tougher duelist.
And that is that! Sylvio, I was never impressed with in the Anime of Arc-V AT ALL. I'll freely admit, he managed to mature by the end, but his dueling skills were not matured at all.
